Salvation and Secrets

Rate this book
Chastity Falls was supposed to be Ana Parry’s fresh start. But what started as her salvation soon became her worst nightmare.

After losing the very thing that gave her reason again, Ana is back at Chastity Falls. Holding on by a thread and trying hard to forget about Jackson isn’t easy when she’s determined to uncover the Donohue’s biggest secrets.

Walking away from Ana was the hardest thing Jackson Pierce has ever done, and months later, he refuses to forget. He can’t. Because rising tensions with a rival town mean Ana is still in harm’s way and, this time, he’s determined to protect her—at all costs.

Loyalty drove them apart, but will secrets piece them back together? Or tear them apart for good?

5 Cranky Stars!

In book one of the Chastity Falls series, we see Ana trying to have her fresh start that unravelled when she loses Jackson. Four months later after that tragic night when Jackson chose family over her and spending her summer back “home” in Florida, Ana returns to Chastity Falls College holding on by a thread. Just thinking or seeing Jackson has Ana going back to the person she was before moving starting college, and it was not a good place for her to be. It was a dark and dangerous place.

She spends her summer hiding away in her room and trying to uncover the Donohue’s secrets that has destroyed what was to be her fresh start and why Jackson chose them. Returning wasn’t easy but staying “home” would have been even harder. Then to make things worse, her and Jackson have the same poetry class.

Will she be able to survive or will this be her undoing.

Jackson knew getting involved with Ana was a dangerous game he was playing, but there was just something about him that he couldn’t walk away from until he was not given a choice if he wanted to protect her. This was the hardest thing he has ever had to do and even after four months of her being away he couldn’t forget her. He knew his brother was watching and testing him and he had to do whatever it took to keep her safe as there is no out for him and loyalty drove them apart, but will the secrets bring them back together or tear them apart for good?

Tensions rise, salvation is earned and secrets are revealed and LA Cotton blew it out of the park with the continuation of Ana’s and Jackson’s story. I was lucky enough to have received an early copy for an honest review. I loved this book, had a very difficult time putting it down. Where as book one was done in Ana’s POV, book two is done in both Ana’s and Jackson’s POV so we do get to understand and know Jackson so much more. The pain that both characters go through was emotional and many times I was sitting on the edge of my seat worried as to what was going to happen.

I love how the supporting characters played such an important role as they are an integral part of Chastity Falls. This book keeps you on the edge right from the start. I am very thankful to have had the chance to have read this book early and now I have the tortuous wait until the summer when book three is released to know what will become of Ana and Jackson as the Donohue’s are a family you don’t walk out of, you are in for life.

I believe everyone who has read Loyalty and Lies, the first part of the story about Ana and Jackson, have been looking forward to this sequel to their story. And believe me, the author does not disappoint at all with this mixture of drama and romance, angst and suspense.
Her new beginning took her to a new environment and new people. Seeking a little peace to heal her wounds was what she wanted, but she came across Jackson. A boy who managed to shake her to the core, awakening feelings that were too strong to ignore. But the few moments of happiness and complete surrender ended up too quickly. She lost him too. And all the hiding could not help, she is here again in Chastity Falls after 4 months. Seemingly strong, yet so weak, Anne sees Jackson again. And do all those lies hide truths that will bring them together again?
The author again manages to weave an intriguing story that pulls you into her world from the very first pages. What particularly amazes me is its ability to keep the suspense level quite high. No matter how hard you try to predict and guess what will happen next, the author still manages to shock you and leave you utterly surprised in certain parts. Ana and Jackson are still the same characters we met in the first part, but with even greater depth and layering. In this part, we have a complete insight into Jackson's thoughts which further makes it easier for the reader to connect with the character and understand the reasons for his actions. I believe we are all shocked as we turn the pages and become aware of the torture Jackson endures from his brother. We also become aware of the weight of lies and secrets, watching the veil slowly rise from Anna's eyes. They both desire each other so much, but the obstacles are sometimes too great.

There are some pretty steam sex scenes in this book that will make you blush. The chemistry between Jackson and Ana is off the charts. And the tender love is becoming stronger and stronger with each chapter, but the road to happiness for this couple is not an easy one.
With interesting main and secondary characters, a gripping storyline, and enough twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end, this series is a must-read for anyone who likes some suspense, mystery, and intrigue in their life, spiced with enough romance and lust. Can't wait to read the final part of their story.

Chastity falls book two is a continuous story from book one. They need to be read in order. We’re back at the academy and Ana is already trying to solve some of the mysteries that changed her life.

Jackson said they couldn’t be together to protect her but these two are like magnets so it’s hard for them to stay away.

There’s one more part to Ana and Jackson’s story so this is just the start to the unraveling world.

I was all gun-ho going into this second part. Which in fact, isn't the end of this lowly weird saga. Yes it's YA drama, but it's so unrealistic and shallow that it ends up being a whollotta...frustration reading. I spent the whole book asking questions like...

Why is she doing that?
Why didn't she tell him she was followed?
Why isn't she angrier?
Why is he so weak?
Why aren't they moving away?
Why is he going out with this other bitch?
Why doesn't he reason with his family?
Why Why??

What was even more grating? The heroine was WAAAAAY too weak and pathetic. And there's nothing I dislike more in a book than a heroine who doesn't stand up for herself and instead, spends all her time pinning away and wallowing in darkness because of a boy. It was puke inducing how she was constantly sad and bored and unable to, at the very least, after what happened to her the year before, take some damn self defense classes. Get a damn makeover! Study for fucks sakes! These kids never studied!! Do something other then rant and weep!!! She's not even fun and communicative with her roommate. Who, BTW has to drag her boring ass everywhere to try to get her to have some fun. Ana (the heroine) has not one redeeming quality. She is boring, depressed, never wants to join her roommate to have some fun, always dressed in the same clothes. It was like... GAH!!!! WAKE UP ALREADY!!

So because of this, I didn't see HOW the hero could want her so much. Furthermore, I didn't like how the heroine's happiness was dependant on him. After all her own personal trauma, she makes her happiness dependant on the hero. And even when they are together, it's not even cute. It's... mediocre. her contribution to their relationship is NULL.

Other peeve... Why oh why do they just not pack the hell up and leave??? There's an entire planet out there. There a thousands of other schools. If they are so endangered, why NOT get the f*** out of there??

I realise now that there a whole slew of books for Chastity Falls. If this heroine doesn't grow some damn balls in the next book (third in the series), I'm dropping the whole thing.

Facts: Salvation and Secrets is book #2 of Chastity Falls series by L.A. Cotton. This book is the first in a trilogy. It is told from both points of view and ends with a semi-resolution between the couple. Genres: New Adult Tropes: insta-love | college romance | sports romance | dark romance Other notes: violence | sex | adult language | drugs

Salvation and Secrets picks up four months after Loyalty and Lies and is sure to please readers who enjoy a college romance with drama and angst.

After she lost her family in a tragic accident, Ana has now lost the man who has brought her back from the brink and has now shattered her heart. She's put up a strong front, but underneath she's barely keeping it together.

Jackson Pierce has walked away from the love of his life and chosen to stay beside his best friend and brother of sorts thinking it's the only way to protect Ana. But can he keep her safe? An more over, can stay away especially when she's sitting across from him in class?

I have mixed feelings about this book. Is it steamy? YES! Is it romantic? Yes. Is it representative of its New Adult genre? Again yes. Is it representative of a college mafia romance? YES, and yet I feel the need to ask, where are all the adults?!

Ana’s parents and boyfriend die in a car accident while Ana was at the wheel because the group went out to celebrate and drank and she was the less inebriated one. What parent in their right mind drinks and the hands over their car keys to their less tipsy (and under age to drink) daughter? The eighteen year old sure has PTSD and survivor’s guilt and yet her aunt lets her move all across the country, alone without a safety net that with which she can rely on?

Then there's Jackson. He knows his sort of adopted family deals drugs, stolen goods and is more than likely involved in other illegal dealings. He participates in said dealings, and does nothing to get away from this situation? He's a talented athlete and an adult with a trust fund and who could escape the blatant lack of morality and disregard for the law. Yet he doesn't plan for a better future nor see any other option? I ask myself, are there young adults so ill-equipped to deal with real life? The answer is YES! Yes there are. And so, the plot revolves around Jax and Ana trying to be together while knowing that their relationship goes against Jackson's family's wishes.

"You are not just some crush or phase. You. Are. It. My salvation"

Wow! Just wow! I am so blown away! Salvation and Secrets had it all! Angst, Romance, Drama, and Suspense!

After the way things ended in Loyalty and Lies, I've been dying to find out what would happen next for Jackson and Ana. And let me tell you I was not disappointed.

I was sucked into the story from the first page. My heart just broke for Ana. I hurt so deeply for her. Each time she had to see or be around Jackson, it was like a little part of her broke. And Jackson...Ugh! I know how hard this decision was for him to make. But, even knowing that, it didn't make me feel better. I just wanted them to find a way back to each other.....

The ending....I loved the way this story ended. I had one of the biggest smiles on my face and was like "yeah, things are about to get crazy". The next book is going to be a complete ride and I can not wait to get my hands on it.

This was okay for a sequel. I do not regret reading it, but I will not be reading book 3. Book 2 ends with some unanswered questions which will probably be answered in book 3. The story is dragging. Everything could have been answered and solved in this book.

The cover is perfect for this story.
There was still too much inner dialogue.
Dual POVs

Ana still forgave too easily. The hero never had to fight to win her back. Even her ultimatums were weak. It took a day if not less for her to be like "okay, Jackson".

Where to start?

Cotton left the first book in the Chastity Falls series in such a place, I couldn't work out where this book would take us. I was both nervous and excited when I opened the ARC (Thank you L. A. Cotton).

Ana... well, she's not in a good place, and let's face it. Who can blame her. Her heart has been broken again, and I'm sure she believes it can never be healed. Enter Paul.

In the first book, I didn't take much notice of Paul (sorry), because he wasn't integral to the story. He was just the friend who lusted after Ana. Well, in this book he really steps up to the plate. He becomes someone Ana can depend on, despite his feeling for her. They never get in the way, and he never takes advantage, even though he's given plenty of opportunity.

Jackson. I shook my head at him, a lot. We get more of an insight into him in Salvation and Secrets because we get his point of view. We learn what makes him do the things he does. Sometimes I didn't agree or quite understand, but he made his own choices for what he felt were the right reasons - protecting Ana.

I admit, I got irritated with Ana in places. Knowing the danger she's in, why the hell is she walking alone, at night? Then, why isn't she telling Jackson that she thinks she's being followed. After all that boy has done for her, she doesn't tell him stuff that could be important. Having said that... I also understand why she doesn't tell him. See why I said irritated?

An excellent second installment to the series, and certainly leaves you wanting more after the twists and turns it takes.

I was given a copy for an honest review.

I have so been looking forward to this one! I was dying to know what was going to happen with Ana and Jackson, and boy oh boy L.A. did not disappoint . I was completely sucked In and yes I did read this book in one sitting. She does an amazing job of pulling you right I and keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering what the outcome will be!

I am absolutely intrigued with the plot, which I don't want to give anything away, but it is something so different. And yes I have tried to guess the outcomes and what I think is going to happen, but I am just left with my jaw open in complete shock. I love Ana and Jackson and I especially love them together! Their chemistry is amazing. But sometimes life and love isn't that simple. Can Ana and Jackson ever really be together and be happy?

I would definitely recommend this series to everyone. If you love a story with a great plot, some amazing complex characters, and of course some drama and angst this is for you. I can not wait for the next one, yes I will not be waiting very patiently!!

Review to come...

Merged review:

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

This series is getting REALLY good! This book, in my opinion, is better than the first. I love that there is the added POV of Jackson. I felt that Loyalty and Lies was lacking in that regard.

With Jackson's added POV in Salvation and Secrets I was really able to connect with his character. I was able to see why Ana would fall in love with him and why he was the kind of guy that could bring her to life. I also fell in love with Ana a little bit more, because it seemed that she kind of came out of her shell a bit more and was a stronger person. I liked that her character grew from when we first met her. In this book she is a bit more alive even though she is quite broken and struggling. I also liked that she decided to try an uncover more of the mystery that surrounds CFA and the Donohues.

So many secrets were revealed in this book and even salvation was found, but how will it affect Ana and Jackson's future? I look forward to what is to come for Ana and Jackson's future.

This is a continuation of the first book Loyalty and Lies. And though Ana and Jackson still care about one another, Jackson’s life is adversely affecting Ana and he can’t put her into more danger. Until he finds out it is too late.

I enjoyed this book, not nearly as much as I did the first. I’m still anxious to see how it all turns out in the third book. I’m curious how things turn out with Marcus. The entire gang is back, so you get to see more of Elena, Tyson and Paul. (love these people!) We also get to see more Briony and Braiden (I don’t love these people!). We also get to see more into the Calder/Reibeckett issue.

Ms. Cotton continues building her world of Chastity Falls and the mobsteresque family that runs it. This book seemed more about Jackson than it did about Ana, which is fine because we got to figure more out about Ana in Loyalty and Lies. So, the question is, would I recommend...(https://textuallove.wordpress.com/201...) Read the rest of the review behind the link.

Bentornati a Chastity Falls!

„You’re my strenght. My reason. You.”

This book put my poor heart through the grinder. The heartbreak, the yearning, the ache! Already in the first chapter I had to have a supply of tissues, and if I was a drinker I would also need a bottle of wine. But as events unfolded, there was also hope. Jax and Ana's relationship is complicated to put it mildly, there are still many secrets and dangerous situations that need to be resolved, but their love shines through everything bad. Gahhh, this couple is EVERY-DAMN-THING!

While reading this part, I wanted to throw the Kindle against the wall and start screaming more than once. The angst is ever-present and the twists and turns pop up from every page. Chastity Falls is definitely not a boring place! And although I was so sad at first about Jackson and Ana's relantionship (or the lack of it), as the story developed I swooned more and more and marveled at how wonderful they are together.

Although I wanted to hit Jackson on the back of the head more than once for misplaced loyalty, I understand his actions and I admire him for putting Ana's safety as a priority. I love that despite being tough and commanding guy, he can also show sweet and affectionate side.
Ana, on the other hand, had a small set-back at the beginning, but she quickly started gaining strength and confidence. I loved to see her getting out of her shell and getting bolder.

This star-crossed lovers faced a lot of odds that were out of their hands, but their chemistry is still sizzling, their love as passionate as ever. And even if it seems that the worst is behind them, such a jaw-dropping plot-twist is discovered that it knocked me down! I cannot wait to see where it all goes in the next book!

I was so curious to see how Jax and Ana were going to get through what happened in book one . Will Jax survive leaving Ana ? Can Ana fight the demons from her past ? This book was gripping and held me spellbound throughout the pages ! L.A. Cotton weaves us even deeper into the mystery that is Chasity Falls . I love this series! I could not put this book down.

Tara's Review

This is the second book in the Chastity Falls series, and you will need to read Loyalty and Lies prior to reading this book. See my review of Loyalty and Lies here

This book picks up with a new semester starting at Chastity Falls. Jackson Pierce is struggling to deal with his "family" and how things were left off with Savanah.

Savanah is trying to move through the paces and get herself back into the school groove which is a lot easier said than done, with Jackson being in one of her lectures.

When Jackson and Savanah, cross paths again old scars will be ripped back open, and their strengths will be tested.

"How was I supposed to move on when his simple proximity left me breathless?" - Ana

L.A. Cotton has quickly moved up as one of my favorite authors. While YA/College Romance is not normally something that appeals to me, this series is just amazing. I waited several months, often messaging L.A. begging for her to hurry up and get this book completed because I just could not wait to see how things would all pan out. While the wait was excruciating, it was without a doubt worth every minute.

I was sucked right back into Chastity Falls and the roller coaster lives of Ana and Jackson. This book is full of mystery, angst, love, lust and heartbreak (in the best way possible). Jumping right back into the storyline was so easy to do, and I was constantly on baited breath waiting to see where things would lead.

"You're not just some crush or phase. You. Are. It. My salvation." -Jackson

Without giving away too much of the story, the turmoil that Jackson is forced to endure at the hands of his "brother" was gut wrenching. And the secrets Ana becomes aware of tore at my heart. My heart broke for Jackson. Ana is all Jackson wants, but at times I felt they were never going to go their way. I rooted for them to make it all work out.

There is some pretty steam sex scenes in this book that will make you want to have a Jackson of your own. The chemistry between Jackson and Ana is off the charts.

I absolutely LOVED how things proceeded in this book, and I CAN NOT wait for the next installment Tribulation and Truths "Coming Summer 2015", so for now I have to go back to stalking and messaging L.A. =)

I would highly recommend picking up this series, it has everything I love in an awesome series, and will keep you guessing all the way through.

*Please note, there is some discussion of self harm in this story, if you are sensitive to this subject matter, please proceed with caution.*

Review

In order to understand what takes place in this book, you must go back to the start and read Loyalty and Lies. This is a series that even with as much background as the author does give you in each continuing book, you need to experience for yourself to truly understand.

Now with that being said, on to my thoughts about this follow up book in the Chastity Falls series.

With the road that the last book took, the way it ended and also the way my heart broke right along with Ana’s, I was frightened to read this one. I was scared to see where Ana and Jackson would be when it started and if they could come back from what they had been put through in the previous book and maintain the connection they shared.

I had nothing to fear, but one hell of a gripping, fast paced and awesome read.

I’ve made no secret of my love of Jackson Pierce. I’m not entirely sure why I feel so strongly toward him, other than the author doing one hell of a job and making him the most sympathetic, yet flawed and imperfect character ever, but I fell for him hard in the first book and if possible even harder in this one. The way the school regards The Fallen, is exactly how I felt I was when it pertained to this particular character. Even now with the last page turned and having gotten to read the third one in ARC form, I’ve got a soft spot for Jackson freaking Pierce.

But there can be no Jackson, not really, without Ana. The struggles Ana experiences right when the book picks up, the despair that is shown as she tries to navigate a life apart from Jackson, wanting to give up and move on, from him and even at times from life, tore me apart. They were extremely hard to read and my heart went out to her. For anyone that has ever struggled with the issues Ana faces in these books, you’ll get it, but for those that haven’t, you will look at it with new eyes when you’re done. It was an issue that the author wrote about with such care that I have to believe she knows someone or has been a part of this in her own life.

Just like the first book, the road to happiness for this couple, both together and apart is not an easy one. There is a constant struggle, a tug of war between what their want in their hearts (each other) and what awaits them if they give into that (family backlash, one or more of them getting hurt).

The story, much like the first book captured me right from page one and gripped me all the way through. Bringing to life moments of sheer bliss while reading, anger (at both characters and some others), love, sadness, heart wrenching agony (for Ana) and even moments of laughter. Basically, this book brought to life every emotional response known to man so that by the time I turned the last page and saw what was waiting and would be explored in the next book, I was lost to the biggest book hangover ever.

Even now, having read the next book, knowing what happens, the result is the same. L.A. Cotton with these characters and their road to happily ever after has officially ruined me.

Amazing characters, gripping story and a pace that continuously moves, keeping you firmly planted on the edge of your seat with no lulls or incidents that didn’t need to be there and you’ve got the recipe for a definite 5* read and this one achieved that and more.

This is a definite recommend for anyone who likes some suspense, mystery and intrigue in their life, on top of romance and characters you just can’t help but feel for and swoon over.

Just know before diving in that it’s a series, so they story will continue on and you’ll be golden.

The first book in L.A. Cotton’s Chastity Falls series, Loyalty and Lies, was an addictive read that had me eager to see what came next. It was not perfect, but it certainly had me curious. Due to this, I went into Salvation and Secrets ready to devour another addictive story.

Sadly, Salvation and Secrets did not work for me the way I had hoped. I remained curious, but there were too many things that had me shaking my head to adore this one. It had too much drama for me, and I couldn’t help but think the characters needed to just up and leave. They were in situations that were farfetched, and they were completely oblivious to the safety they could find elsewhere. Add in the fact that topics were touched that I have person experience with and were glossed over – they were magically fixed because of a romance I did not feel – and I was a wee bit disappointed by this one.

I certainly remain curious about how the series will end, but I’m not hooked in the way so many people seem to be.

In Loyalty and Lies we learned about Braiden Donohue and his father Marcus, who practically own the small town of Chastity Falls. This time around L.A. Cotton lets us in on more dirty family secrets and amps up the suspense with Jackson and Ana.This review may spoil book one in the series.

"The hard truth was that I could avoid Jackson and shut my feelings off, but he wasn't a stain to be removed, he was a scar. Just another one to add to the ones already marring my body and mind." ~ Ana

Salvation and Secrets starts us off with a broken up Jackson and Ana. He says he did it for her own good and the more she finds out about Jackson's father and the Donohue family, she believes him. That said, it still isn't easy. Ana finally opened up to somebody after all that's happened to her and to have him taken away as well sets her back a few steps.

"........how did you forget the only person who really saw you for you? The person who owned half of your damn soul?" ~ Jackson

Two words-you don't. He may not be with Ana, but Jackson still loves her and will do whatever he has to to keep her safe. He knows what the Donohoe family is capable of (Braiden showed those true colors in book one) and wants to keep her as far away from the family as possible. Again, easier said than done. Jackson has to prove to Braiden he's over Ana, all the while not hurting her. To say the guy is torn is an understatement.

While Jackson is dealing with his "family", Ana is still digging up dirt on them. The more she finds, the more she worries about either of them making it out of this situation alive. Braiden, Romero and Brioney are loose cannons, knowing that Marcus Donohue will clean their messes up. And that is messed up. Marcus is planning something, as he just isn't himself this time around and that is going to be bad for Jackson.

"You're not just some crush or phase. You. Are. It. My salvation." ~ Jackson

There lies the problem. He wants her, his family wants him. There is something big brewing and it only gets bigger by the end of the book. While some situations are taken care of, an even bigger can of worms is opened for our doomed couple. The book is well written in dual POV chapters. L.A. Cotton covers everything, angst, romance and of course some sexy, all the while leaving us wanting more.

OMFG!!! What an ending. I am in love with this series. My review will come later, I need book 3, right the fuck now!

*And breathes*

This was a fantastic sequel that paved the way to stronger characterisation and a notch up on the danger scale. Jackson's decision to walk away in the hope to protect Ana was a painful one, and with the added male POV, it really helped getting inside the head of the young man who has so much to lose in loving the broken girl from Florida.

Ana is going through the notions. The man who put her back together has walked away, and the pain from her past rears its ugly head. The need to distract herself from her internal suffering is manifesting into self-harm, reverting back to bad coping mechanisms that got her through last time. Luckily for her, she has friends who notice and just as she is getting her head back in the game, he is suddenly everywhere.

Ana and Jackson can only take so much, and desperation to be with the one you love outweighs the fear of being caught. Consequences be damned, but Braiden is watching, and it's only a matter of time before the cards fall, and Jackson and Ana make a decision that make or break them for good.

I am really enjoying this series, and the double POV narrative was a welcome addition to this sequel in the Chastity Falls Series, if anything it highlighted Jackson's position and the dilemma he faces in letting an outsider into the corrupt family fold.

Ana, having a deep interest in investigative journalism is on a quest for answers, and they don't come easily, but when they do the story goes from dramatic to dangerous which creates a power ending / gripping opener for book three - I just had to dive straight in.

READ IT!

Book One to be read first

This is the continuation of Jackson and Ana's story.

A plot filled with suspense, danger, unpredictability in a place surrounded by secrets, lies, mystery, controlled by a family, a family Jackson is apart of and Jackson now has some decisions to make for Ana's safety.

The battle between the two towns continue, the danger, secrets and lies continue and so does the love Jackson has for Ana.

Things don't fully come to a head in this book, this book I would say is progress in Ana and Jackson's story and it's an exciting and gripping one, I couldn't put this book down. I love the characters and the feel of the plot.

The Romeo and Juliette of Chastity Falls, a forbidden romance with threats and danger lurking around every corner, Jackson reaching one brick wall after another, still under the control of the Donohue family, I love it.

I said in my review of the previous book this isn't your average college romance, Chastity falls is so much more and if you like suspense, something a little different, something that will get your brain ticking over then this is for you.

Looking forward to reading the final part in this trilogy.

Reading as part of a box set.

4.5 stars

Salvation and Secrets is the second book in the Chastity Falls Series. Chastity Falls was suppose to be Ana's fresh start but her freshman year didn't turn out as planned. Now she's returning for her Sophomore year and the one person who had given her a reason to live is now causing her to want to hide. With the rising tension with a rival school Ana is put in harms way yet again and Jackson will do whatever is needed to protect her.

I loved the first book in this series and this second book lived up to all of my expectations. Once again, the plot is riveting and action packed. I love the characters. The author pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I couldn't wait to find out if Ana and Jackson get their HEA.

I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a well written NA series, full of drama and angst! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

I went into this book expecting it to be the end. That being said, it really skewed how I perceived the book. I literally didn't want to read the end, because I figured it could only end in either ugly cry or so cheesy, I hate it. Needless to say, I was sincerely surprised with the to be continued...

That being said, it also made the end harder to read, and I kept avoiding it, in fear. I wasn't able to put myself totally into the book like I should. It had a few moments that pulled me, and I'd get reading, but the sappy, then fear moments threw me. So, for me, it was about 3.5 stars. Maybe it would have been more if I'd known, but I can only go by how I felt as I read it.

LA does a great job of keeping you on the edge of you seat throughout this book. I did not want to put it down and am so glad there is still more to come. I loved that we also got Jackson's POV and was able to see some of what actually goes on with him and the Fallen. You will continue to hate some characters and grow to love others more.

* I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

ARC copy review!!!

I have been patiently waiting for this book to be released. Once I started reading I could not stop! L.A. Cotton has created a series full of young and intense love with a twist of secrets that are just dying to be revealed.

Ana and Jackson have many obstacles ahead of them. Hopefully Jackson does not loose sight of what needs to be done or he may just end up paying the ultimate price.

This series is a must read☆☆☆☆☆
