When Denver’s ex-boyfriend turns up on the island with his sugar daddy and his toxic attitude, the two men pretend to be in a fake relationship to get back at him. But even if their affair is not real, their feelings might be.
My Fake Billionaire is a 15k short story with a sexy billionaire, a sweet barefoot librarian, a hot exclusive island resort and lots of fun situations.

This was an okay contemporary romance. The characters were likable, the setting on the private island was good. The rest of it was nothing special. Cute little snippet.
“He looked expensive, like a leather-bound, first edition, rare book.”
I’ve really been in the mood for low-angst, short reads and this one was great for that. It was cute, fun and super easy to read. It was a great book to escape to. I’d totally love to be on a secluded fancy island right now!
Love fake relationships too and this one started off due to an ex. I think this was probably the best for Denver and Will as it let them get to know each other and explore being together without the strings really. With Will’s position they needed that really.
I really enjoyed their HEA! If you enjoy these authors or are even just looking for a quick, easy read with laughs, sexy time and a cute relationship then I definitely recommend.
New to me author pairing. This is a mm contemporary novella. As the title suggests this is a fake boyfriend story between Will the Billionaire and Denver. Set in the Seychelles this story could have been longer! I'll read more from these authors.
Denver was the librarian in Barefoot resort where William was staying as well. It was an insta-love moment for both. When Denver's ex showed up, it was an opportunity for William to act as his fake boyfriend to throw the ex off. This is just too short for me to enjoy further but if you are up for a very quick beach read, then this is something you can consider.
Cute contemporary romance where fake dating turns to real feelings. Quite insta-love, with an evil ex and a dislikable set of wealthy parents. This story felt a little unfinished to me; I would’ve liked to see more of Will and Denver spending time together to really see them falling for each other. It also felt like a couple of conflicts were resolved a little too easily. But all in all, a low-angst quick read that’s quite cute.
I love romance and queer romance in particular, so believe me when I say you should give this one a miss. It's poorly written with paper thin characters, no plot, and truly abysmal sex scenes. Do yourself a favor and read anything else.
I love a fun fake relationship! So this def caught my eye.
Here we follow Denver and William. Denver left New York after a terrible break-up and got himself a dream job! He is running a blog and bookstore at the Barefoot Beach Resort. Things are looking up until his ex shows up with a sugar daddy. Enter in billionaire William. William is also escaping but from dating and his parents. He agrees to pretend to be Denver's boyfriend. As time goes on feelings start bubbling to the surface.
I loved both Denver and William. You can see from their first encounter that they are perfect for each other. They are both sweet men who deserve all the love in the world. Both have been very hurt in the past, so it takes some time for them to see past the hurt...especially William. He has struggled to find someone who loves him for him and not his money.
This was very sweet and it made me want to go to a resort like that! I love the chill vibes.
The resolution was extremely simple, but this is a quick story and a quick romance. It worked for them.
Overall, a nice quick love story to read this summer! Perfect summer read. I'll actually stamp this with 5 stars. I really enjoyed it.
This was a cute short story so I finished it in one sitting. Denver worked as a librarian in a beach resort after leaving NY and his ex behind, so his focus was his job and moving forward. Will was a billionaire traveling to the same resort where Denver worked, and they were attracted to each other from the moment they met.
When Denver's ex showed up, Will introduced himself as Denver's boyfriend, so they started pretending to be a couple to show his ex that he had moved on. Their love story didn't have that much depth, but it was still nice reading their moments together and how despite their differences, Will still wanted to be with Denver and have a future together.
Their story was easy to read, and despite things happening a bit fast between them, I loved reading their interactions and their steamy scenes, and how in the end, Will's parents accepted Denver and he was a part of their family.
I enjoyed Will and Denver’s fake relationship novella. Will is a billionaire who believes he will not ever find his soulmate and he comes to barefoot resort to escape the parts of his life he dislikes. Denver works at the resort as the bookstore manager and librarian. He arrived after a nasty breakup. When Denver runs into his ex, Will spontaneously volunteers to be his fake boyfriend. Thus begins the up down, fast-paced roller coaster ride to their HEA. While short, the story was fairly well written though felt wooden and awkward at times, the characters were fairly well developed, and the storyline was engaging. The story just needs a bit more editing and polish to get to a 4 star read.
It's rare to find an MM story that puts the story first and not the sexuality of the characters. After way too many poorly formatted and edited stories, filled with many misspellings and grammatical errors, and whose main goal is to highlight sex and barely throws in a shallow storyline, My Fake Billionaire is a pleasant exception. The characters are well rounded and entirely believable. Yes, there is passion and sex, but it's part of the larger story, not the main theme. My only regret is that it ended far too soon!
I’ll admit, this story isn’t exactly to my taste. It should be, because I love fake boyfriends and thumbing one’s nose at the status quo. This is definitely a case of too much and not enough. There is too much plot to make for a good short story and not enough to give me a satisfactory read.
The writing is good at least, so that kept me from wanting my time back. Both of these authors write books I have enjoyed, so one short story that didn’t resonate won’t keep me from reading future stories.
Well that's an hour of my life I will never get back - good job it was free. Independently I quite like both these authors, but did they even speak to each other about this book? The storyline was ok. Billionaire with awful parents who doesn't believe anyone could love him. Poor boy whose ex stole all his money and then left him for some rich bloke. The story was clunky and contradicted itself over and over. The editing was no existent. If you have not read books by either of these authors before, do not take it as an example of their writing. They are usually so much better than this
A nice short story with a fake boyfriend situation, which I always love. It's an insta love thing, which is cute and cozy but these two men are worlds apart. Will is a billionaire while Denver Is badly in debt thanks to his ex Paul. It's a sweet story, Paul is a nasty piece of work that tries to break Will and Denver's relationship out of spite and a little jealousy, he causes some angst but can love overcome all?
I enjoyed reading this delightful MM fake relationship and insta love story by Ana who was a new author to me. Set on a tropical island Denver is happily working when he sees Will and sparks fly over socks and shoes. Will steps in to fake date Denver but with their red hot chemistry is ever present and they heat up the pages. I loved and devoured this well written novella and I look forward to reading more books from Ana.
If you love your fairytale with all the insta love your going to eat this up. The "poor" rich "prince" needed the love of the "rich" working man. Quick read for a raining night when you need the sun. The premise is good, and it started off strong. There are a few struggles in the middle where it feels like the authors lost focus but still a fun read.
Denver finally understands the meaning behind the sunrise
This was a cute short story. Will was a billionaire on island for business and Denver was working in library being harassed by his ex. Will suggest that the were dating so it started as a fake relationship that turned into something real.
You want to write for a publication? I own it. You have a blog? I read it and enjoy it. Love at first sight? Me too! And we can both stand up to annoying people in our lives at the same time! The ending was just ridiculous. I only stuck this story out because it was so short.
Final parting shot? Does anyone actually name their sons Denver?
Well written story and well developed characters! Will is a billionaire and doesn't want to be around his parents at all!! All they do is fight with each other and always have to put him in the middle! It started when he was little and ruined his childhood! It continues to this day! He can't wait to get away for his business vacation!
This novella just was not well-written. The plot was one you've read a thousand times before. The characters were not very interesting, and the dialogue was just really, really basic. To me, this read like a first draft of something, complete with bad editing. Everything felt really disjointed with the plot, particularly the fake boyfriend, ex-boyfriend sub-plot. I know this was meant to be a light, quick read, but even within those parameters, I can't recommend it.
Told with each chapter covering each main character, there’s little repeat of information you’d learned earlier; just enough to bring you up to date if you were interrupted at the chapter’s break. Each character is fleshed out, and although it’s a short story, it’s plenty satisfying!
It is a short story so one shouldn’t expect to get much depth, but this felt like an incomplete outline of the story. It almost seems like reading the prequel short for a series where the premise and location are set up. Now they just need the next half dozen full novels about the people who come to the barefoot resort to meet and fall in love.
I'm not sure why this exists, as it's more a summary of a fanfiction than a short story. I cringed my way through the whole thing, the instalove being so far beyond the trope it would return a negative value if it could be measured. One dimensional as a descriptor of the characters would be...kind.
