This novella can be read as a standalone however you'll enjoy it much more if you read the whole series to catch up. We finally have Dennis's story. I was so beyond thrilled when the author mentioned that she was writing him one. I just wish it was longer but isn't that the way with all the books we love. Dennis knows it's impossible for him to have a relationship due to the business. Yet, that doesn't stop him from persuing Cassie. He watches her and refers to her at his even though she has no idea that he even likes her. He pulls her out of a party she was attending and kissed her. Then tells her that if they do this there's no turning back. Will he manage to hold onto Cassie or is this just a disaster that's being created? This was a nice glimpse as to who Dennis really is since he's been a quiet one throughout this series. I absolutely loved this novella and recommend that you all give this series a try.

Secrecy, hope, choices
Once Dennis became Jackson right hand man I took an instant liking to him. He's so loyal, caring, fierce, and protective. I absolutely love him. He reminds me so much of Jackson. Cassie is just the whole package, she's a sweetheart. But being with a guy like jax and Dennis is not easy. It can messy. But then again the right wants what it wants.
Once Dennis became Jackson right hand man I took an instant liking to him. He's so loyal, caring, fierce, and protective. I absolutely love him. He reminds me so much of Jackson. Great addition to the series....
Well ok, I have made it no secret that I love the Chastity Falls series; with it’s wonderfully constructed world and the damaged and broken souls that inhabit and interact within it...this novella focuses on two of the supporting cast from the main series, Cassie and Dennis, as they encounter the kind of obstacles faced by those who become embroiled with the Fallen of Chastity Falls...by choice or otherwise..
When I become addicted to a series I always find it a wrench to let go when the final chapter closes; and in some ways this book feels to me as if the author has a similar struggle with goodbyes..but that does not detract from the fact it is well written, filled with drama and a remarkable amount of plot and character development..considering it is not a full length novel..
This was a worthy addition to the Chastity Falls catalogue.. it can be read as a standalone but if I was new to the series..I would not start here because it can only truly be appreciated if the reader fully understands the nuances and undercurrents that the original series provides....This novella was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads.

Affliction was a great short story. We finally got to read about Dennis and Cassie and the love that they have for each other. These two didn't have it any easier than Jackson and Ana had it, but we only get a shortened version of their love story, which in my opinion is still okay. Dennis' life isn't any easier than Jackson's, though he tries to hide it from everyone. He was sent to Chastity Falls to try and get an in with Marcus for his father. But he's not happy about it. So he abides his time in college by playing ball, doing what he needs to do for Jackson (his best friend) and enjoying himself when he can. Then along come Cassie, a good friend of Jackson's girlfriend Ana. Dennis knows things are different and can't stay away. He tries to not bring her into his world but love has a way of changing all of our plans. I loved seeing these two fall in love and seeing their sides. It falls right in line with some of the scenes from Tribulation and Truths that I remember reading. And it helps me understand those scenes a little better. Wish their story had been a little longer but beggars can't be choosers and I'll willingly take what I can get. I voluntarily read an advanced copy for an honest review.

As I️ was reading the Chasity Falls box set it was always in the back of mind i really want to know about Dennis and Cassie. You always knew that there was something going on but you never knew how they started thier relationship or if they were together at all.
Well this novella was excatly what i needed. No more guessing all the answers were here. I smashed this book in one go and was so excited for this story.
Cassie was such a quiet character in the box set and i wanted to know more about here and she was such a beautiful character and loved her a lot. She was passionate and loved with all that she was and i really felt for her.
Dennis was such a closed book in all the stories he never spoke much and he was such a loyal guy who just needed a happy ending but you weren’t sure if he was going to get it.
I loved how this book fell in line with the other books and reminded us of Ana and Jackson’s stories and you got to know a little more of what was happening behind the scenes.
Absolutely fantastic novella loved every bit of it and now i can’t wait until Dennis full novel coming out.

Well everyone wanted Dennis and Cassie's story and now they have it! You get to see a completely different side of Dennis as he fights his feelings towards Cassie so he doesn't put her into danger like Jackson did with Ana. Even though Dennis knows Jackson didn't do it on purpose, he just couldn't live without Ana. As you read through the book, you see Dennis fight with himself to figure out if what he and Cassie have is worth risking her life. You can tell he truly cares for her and only wants the best, but it seems as though he fell in love with her before he even kissed her.
If you have read the Chastity Falls Series, I highly recommend this book as you see a different perspective of Dennis, Cassie, Jackson, and even Ana in some parts.

Loved this! I haven't had the chance to delve into the CF series but just learning about Jackson and Dennis here and there with their respective girls has made me really want to get on it. I enjoyed the novella, it was perfectly paced with enough details to keep you updated but not so much that it took you away from the important bits because... let's face it, any time you have the raw romance, it's all you care about. And it's all I got with them. I think what always surprises me is when I find a story like this that makes me gobble it all up even when it isn't a full length novel. Dennis and Cass had their love at first touch and it was a short, hot ride of their little love journey. Definitely a great addition you should check out for that love goodness.

The pair started a secret relationship a few months earlier but for various reasons Cassie is growing increasingly disheartened about the whole thing, and Dennis worries their time is coming to an end as he just wants to protect her from the life he leads.
Affliction was a nice little novella that gives us a peek at how Dennis and Cassie got together in the first place, and gives us a nice introduction to which way this series may be going to go as it spins off from the original books. Although this is a spin off you met Dennis and Cassie in the previous books, which lets you get to know them a little before this.
Cassie and Dennis have so many obstacles in their way. Dennis does what he has to enjoy himself while he’s been sent to find out all he can about Marcus and hopefully get him to trust him.
Then he meets Cassie, he knows they come from different worlds, but he can’t help being drawn to her.
What Cassie and Dennis have neither can deny, but Cassie is tired of keeping things a secret even though she knows it’s because it could put her in danger and best friend won’t like it. Dennis knows that Cassie doesn’t like not being public, but he’s doing it to protect her, but how long will she let them keep the secret.
Can wait to read more about these two and see if they can make things work.

Loved this little Novella for Dennis!! For ages as a reader of the Chastity Fall Series I've been wanting more from Dennis, and finally we get a glimpse into his relationship with Cassie.
This can be read as a standalone, but realistically you'll definitely want to read the rest of the series straight after, or beforehand! Either way this is a series not to miss.
I really enjoyed seeing more from Dennis. He's always been a little secretive, so to discover more about him is great. I loved seeing Cassie and Dennis' relationship develop, but how far can it really evolve? With Dennis' "work" and his secrets, can they realistically make things go the distance!

I loved this little novella about Dennis and Cassie, he has always been some what of a mystery in the other books. So I'm glad that L.A. Cotton gave us a glimpse into their relationship and his life.
Dennis & Cassie's relationship wasn't always easy, it was full of secrets, but when it was just the two of them spending, time together it was the best.
" Cassie was my absolution but she was also my affliction. A reminder of everything I could never have, and everything I didn't want to lose."
I'm really excited to get more of their story, in the future and learn more about Dennis and his background. If you haven't read The Chastity Falls series, then you seriously need to rectify that ASAP.

The cutest novella you can ever read!!! We didnt know cassie that well from the previous book. But in this one, i kind of related to her, when ur in a new relationship and dont know how to navigate sensitive topics and dont want to upset the other one.
But i knew from the start that I was very intrigued by Dennis story and I loved the chemistery between them.
But deep down always felt like Cassie deserved more. To be acknowledged and loved in front of the world. And that broke my heart because Dennis wanted to give her everything.
Im so glad that theres a bigger book for both of them. I really cant wait to dive in.

I have been a fan of the Chastity series so when we get any story about the characters I can't wait to read. Dennis, Jackson's best friend, there through it all. In this short story we find out about more of his background. Because of his family he is a tortured soul. When his desire for Cassie becomes to much he can't stay away. Follow these two as the keep secrets, find desire and heartbreak. What will the future hold for them? Even though we get more of Dennis it will never be enough with the Chastity Falls characters.

I loved is Affliction by L. A. Cotton. I love. Ha! I'm obsessed with her Chastity falls series and going back there was like going back home. Especially when Dennis' story was one that I wanted, well still want to, read. I'm here she was able to show us the turmoil that Dennis goes through. Not being able to have that one girl because of the business he is. But one day everything breaks and he just have to have her. Cannot wait for the full novel and I hope there will be one!

A splendid accompaniment to this fabulous series. Dennis Hayes & Cassie Malson come from two different worlds. Their journey is brimming with love, passion, & heartache. I only wish it was longer. I love Dennis & Cassie's manuscript as their journey is sweet & heartwrenching. With a mixture of intriguing & intense moments. One of my all time favourite series I have ever read.

If you have read the Chastity Falls series and loved it you definitely will love this Novella what a fantastic addition to the series I only wish it wasn't a novella I really wished it was a full length novel it for me had the same pull as the rest of the series it was intriguing and intense, what a fantastic compliment to a great series one that I don't think I will ever get enough of.

We get to return to Chastity Falls which is always a good thing and get to catch up with Jackson and Ana. Dennis is Jackson’s best friend and Cassie is Ana’s best friend and Dennis is very attracted to her but for her sake knows he needs to stay away. A kiss one night changes everything but can she handle the secrets being with Jackson entails?

I really enjoyed catching up with the characters from L.A. Cotton’s Chastity Falls series. This spin off novella is Dennis and Cassie’s story and I loved witnessing them together. I hope to see more of them as I continue to read this series.

I just love the chastity falls series. Getting to read Dennis' s story was the icing on the cake. I can't wait to find out more about cassie and her journey as she gets more involved in Dennis and his life. I enjoyed getting caught up with Jackson and Ana as well .

I really enjoyed catching up with the characters from Chastity Falls series again. It was great to see what happened with Dennis and Cassie. I really hope there is more to come with Cassie and Dennis. They work well together.

Dennis and Cassie. I always had a soft spot for Dennis throughout Jacksons story so i was happy when i got to read a snippet of their story i was excited and anxious to see how it ends. Something tells me the homecoming of Braiden is about to change alot of things
