When Lianne said she was going to write a book about Braiden I did have some misgivings. Braiden was a nasty piece of work and had been responsible for horrible stuff but I was intrigued to see where this book would go. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book I devoured the pages within a day ! The story starts as Braiden is released from prison after severing 4 long years, he emerges as a different man from the man that went inside, he's had time to think and reflect on his actions and of those around him. He is ashamed of the man he once was, he wants nothing more than to start a fresh somewhere new where no one knows the name Braiden Donohue but that wish is short lived as he is sucked back into the world he is so desperate to escape only this time he has no idea who to trust and who is playing who. Until he meets her, his game changer the one girl he shouldn't be with and has no future with is the one girl who makes him see he is worth more. I really didn't think I was going to like Braiden, but his time in prison has made him reflect on his actions and see what type of man he was and what type of man he wanted to be. I loved Cara she was sassy, feisty and never gave up on what she wanted ~ you can't help who you fall in love with, but she fought for love when Braiden couldn't. I'm so sad that this is the last from Chastity Falls it's been an adventure, one I've loved with all my heart #chastityfallsforever
I enjoyed seeing Braeden's growth. He was truly such a villain in the previous 3 books but you see an honest change in him that was really believable. Full review will be on the blog The Book Disciple
What an amazing book to end the series....though I still reckon there should be another ;) hint hint hehe.
I've loved this series from start to finish and can't find any fault with it. The storyline is gripping, hooks you from page one. The writing flows solidly throughout the book, from scene to scene it works incredibly.
The characters are just as strong in this book as they are throughout. I liked the Braidans attitude changed, how his how outlook on life changed, thanks to Cara.
I have to be honest here, I didn't like Braiden in the first three books, I actually hated him and didn't think that could change. He proved me wrong, I mean he has a such a ways to good. But I think he can definitely get there. It will take a lot of forgiveness and loyalty with Cara by his side I believe in him.
It's so hard when the characters you love and the stories you love come to an end. Is there really ever an end in an author's mind, who knows, but I am not so secretly hoping the characters from Chastity Falls worm their way back into Lianne's brilliant brain and force her to write more. So on to my final (for now) review of book 4 in the Chastity Falls series.
Oh Braiden, for the first three books, he was my enemy, I often thought of junk punching him, and now, with prison behind him, change has come and I can now smile at the thought of Braiden Donohue.
This book picks up with Braiden finishing his prison sentence and adapting to life on the outside, coming to terms with his families past, and moving through life as a "Donohue". His future seems destined to follow the path of his father and grandfather before him. That is until Cara noses her sassy self into his solitude and everything unravels.
From the very first book in this series, I was hooked. Hooked on Chastity Falls and L.A. Cotton alike. With every book she writes, Lianne seems to outdo herself. She has the ability to suck you right in and tie you up in her stories, leaving you gasping for air, and begging for more.
The storyline of this book was so far from what I was expecting when I thought of Braiden. It was so much more. Building on the previous books, this book had twists and turns, most of which I didn't see coming. The characters were easy to fall for, even the bitch that is Briony. The plot was solid and well executed and I devoured this book in two sittings.
Me being me, and totally invested with every character in this series, I admit I wanted just a little more than was offered to us as the ending of this series. I needed to know more of Briony, and how she dealt with her brother being away, and how she ended up where she was. I get this is Braiden's story and all, but I'm greedy and wanted a slice of all the Chastity Falls characters. I get it, I do, but well I just FLOVE them all. Haha
If this is indeed the end, I am left satisfied with how everything turned out for everyone. The series as a whole is amazeballs and should be on the top of your TBR lists.

Review
Braiden, Braiden, Braiden.
I was one of those rare breeds that actually saw past the nightmare that he made Jackson and Ana’s lives in the previous books. Saw something more in him. Whether that was his heart, or something smaller like the potential to be something better, it was there and it made me extremely excited when I heard he would be getting his own book.
And he didn’t disappoint. At all.
What I hoped was under the surface of this guy, was there, but magnified. When Braiden feels, even when he doesn’t understand it, wants to pull away from it or believes himself unworthy of it, he does it full throttle. Which, even though things weren’t exactly easy for either of them, made Cara one of the luckiest girls in the world.
Talk about finding the one person in the world to love that should really be the last person though! Hello forbidden romance. Two unlikely people that shouldn’t be together, work so beautifully together that not even their families and names can keep them apart.
What I enjoyed apart from the romance was the same level of intrigue and suspense present within the previous three books yet again making another appearance here. And how most of the time, I was learning things right along with Braiden. Answers to questions that at the time I didn’t even know I had, and a deeper understanding of just what was really going on here between all the players. What both Cara and Braiden’s families were really involved in and just how deeply it ran.
All handled very well. By the time I turned the last page, I feel as though I’d gotten everything I wanted, both in that aspect as it pertained to Braiden’s happy ending. One that if it wasn’t for the little spitfire Cara knocking him on his ass, I don’t think ever would have happened.
Much like the title says, there are regrets in this story, but definitely bigger and more importantly there is redemption here. A whole freaking lot of it. And that ending? Well, let’s just say, the author gave me a nice little surprise treat there I didn’t see coming, but absolutely loved. Love you Jackson!
Emotion. Feeling. Love. Steam. Intrigue, Suspense, Nail biting, edge of your seat, omg what is going to happen moments. All of these thing and more happen within the pages of this book, which for this reader and lover of the series as a whole, made it one hell of a ride and a pretty great send off for the Chastity Falls series.
My thanks to the author and all others involved in letting me read this before its official release. I wanted Braiden’s story, and in typical L.A. Cotton fashion, she delivered that and so much more.
Braiden, god did I freaking HATE him when I met him. Every time his name came up I wanted just crawl in the book and kill the dude. I was like...DIE!!!!
Then, I read Redemption and Regrets, I would like to retract my previous statement. I am totally claiming Brained Donohue as MINE, MIO, BACK THE EFF OFF LADIES! Goodness gracious, freaking L.A. Cotton has knocked this book out of the park, she has redeemed Braiden and I have fallen head over heels for the man he has become. The man we are introduced to at the beginning of the series is NOT who we get to know in this book.
Braiden has been gone for four year and he is a changed man. A man with questions, a man who is free and will soon find out the story of his past and how he came to be the product of his environment. An environment he longed to be a part of. An environment he learn he wants absolutely no part of and will do what he has to for the sake of his happiness. Man, has our Braiden taken off the Donohue glasses and is seeing the world him in a very different light.
While Braiden is out pondering what to do with himself and what the "family" wants of him, he meets Cara. Never in his life has a woman affected him so much. They develop a bond like no other and they quickly develop feeling for each other. What shocks them both...who her daddy is! What they feel and are starting to develop can never be. They are the modern day version of the Capulet's and the Montegue's. My favorite type of love; a love that is written in the stars but can never be...or can it? *Sigh*
I ate this book up and COULD NOT put it down. I'm sad that the series has come to an end. To be honest I want so much more of Braiden. Jackson was cool and all but Braiden? Holy wow, Braiden stole my hear and I will gladly let him keep it.
Lianne, THANK YOU so much for being you. For being the amazing writer that you are and bringing us these stories that simply suck us in. For sharing what your crazy head comes up with. Until the next series.
I recommend that Chastity falls be read prior to this book as you will get more background on Braiden and his life before this. Box set now available.
I loved this book and Braiden's story. Not as complex as Chastity falls with it's suspense, secrets and lies, this was Braiden coming out of Prison and wanting to start a new life but when your family name is Donaghue it seams its not that easy to be yourself.
The Braiden we see in Chastity falls is heartless, pretty much evil and a foot soldier of his father. years later and we see a completely different Braiden and one that falls in love.
Braiden: Bottom line- Cara O'connor made me want to be better, she made me a better guy. She consumed me , every thought, breath, ache. It was all her.
Braiden doesn't just fall in love with any girl though, Cara is Braiden's match, she is feisty, has backbone, goes after what she wants Braiden falls hard but not before finding out their family names are enemies.
Redemption and regrets is exactly what the title suggests. Braiden tries to start a new life for himself only history has a way of repeating itself and this time Braiden is no longer the boy from high school but a man and a different man.
"Cara O'Connor, you are stubborn and annoying and that bubble gum habit you have is fucking disgusting, but I wouldnt't change a single moment with you".
I loved it, it was exciting, told in dual pov's Cara's character was well matched to Braiden. redemption and regrets was a story I couldn't put down and in my eyes Braiden completely redeems himself from what he put both Ana and Jackson through in previous books and he got a taste of what they had felt like.
Braiden: Cara O'connor would always be the girl who taught me how to love.
I love this series, this book had completely moved away from the college scene and had more of a mafia forbidden romance feel, this was my favourite.
Welcome back to Chastity Falls, where the good guys aren't so good and the bad guys usually end up saving the day.
We've read Jackson and Ana's story in the previous books, now we get Braiden's story. One that kept me intrigued for most of this lazy Sunday!!! Braiden's served four years in prison, and in the day of his release, he's not too sure if he will have anyone to meet him.
What family does he have left after the fallout between Jackson and Braiden?
But his sister is there to meet him, but she brings news that he doesn't want to hear.
The O'Connor family are out for revenge, and they won't stop until blood is shed. When a meeting with an old friend of his fathers is scheduled, secrets will be revealed and plans will need to be made, to see the demise of the O'Connor family for good.
But it's all too much for Braiden to take in straight away, so he asks for time away, to clear his head, and to come to a decision on what part he will play in the unfolding war.
Braiden once again finds himself not too far from chastity falls, and under the spell of the beautiful Cara.
But he doesn't do relationships!!
What will happen when Braiden finds out Cara is an O'Connor?
How can the only girl he's ever loved come from the enemies family?
What will the consequences be when Frankie O'Connor finds out his only daughter is involved with Braiden?
This cannot end right, right?
In this hypnotizing page turner, we really find out that love truly is worth fighting for.
A sensational final book to the Chastity Falls saga, I'm certainly going to miss all the characters.
I love the way this author writes, and I loved this series, I am hoping there will be more. I love the story of Braiden, he had an attitude in high school and college, but that is who he is. He is the way his father made him. Well after 4 years in prison, he is out. He has no clue as to what is going on, what has happened. He is also a changed man. There is so much emotion in this story, so much of how Braiden became Braiden and so much more as to what type of person he wants to be. What should he do? He is clueless to what type of man his father really was. When his Sister and her boyfriend pick him up from prison, and takes them to their place, he just has no clue. He had no information from the outside world but he was glad to be with his twin. He decided he needed to time alone, to think and decide what to do. He goes to another town, stayed in his twin’s boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend’s apartment. He couldn’t just sit in the apartment he needed to get out. He ends up at the local college and was watching the track team and there was a girl that caught his eye. Of course he hasn’t been with one in four years but this one was something else. The coincidences in this story and how Braiden decides what to do with his life is amazing. He learns the real truth and real love. I was totally into this story. I read every word in this fantastic story. I was memorized by it. This whole series is fantastic. I can’t wait for more, I want to find out what happens to Briony and everyone else. I did receive this ARC from the author for an honest review. I received a free copy of a book in exchange for an honest review
When reading the first three Chastity Falls books, Braiden is clearly an entitled brat with a mean streak. He lives and trades on Daddy's name and reputation, but all that ends when he takes it too far and ends up in prison. So, can Braiden redeem himself when given his own voice?
We start Braiden's story upon his release from prison. His time inside hasn't been easy - thanks to the very name that used to get him his own way back in college. At twenty-six, he's no longer a kid, but he's very unsure of how he's going to fit into the world that has moved on without him.
To give him time to stew over a decision he has to make, Braiden goes to stay in a small town, alone. He's not alone for long when he meets Cara (now, I have to admit I worked out Cara's circumstances quite early on, but it didn't stop my enjoyment of the book). Braiden is confused... he doesn't do relationships, so what is it about Cara that he can't get her out of his head? - This and the decision Braiden must make are what kept me turning the pages. Will he follow his heart or his head?
I never expected to like Braiden - yet, when I finished this book I found myself respecting him. He admits to his mistakes, learns from them, and even apologises for them, but he has determination to not let them define him any longer. This is why this book gets a 5* rating from me.
I've seen a lot of chatter about more books in the series, but I personally feel that Braiden's story is the natural end to our time in Chastity Falls.
So here we are at the series finale, and L.A. Cotton hasn't let us down. For me, I think Redemption and Regrets could even be the best one.
After going to prison 4 years earlier, Braiden Donohue wasn't exactly one of the "favourite" characters in this series. All the terror and grief he put not only Ana, but also his supposed best friend, Jackson, through in the first 2 books was not the way to win reader love. However, he's served his time, he's survived prison, and now he's no longer the angry, self proclaimed "King of Chastity Falls Academy".
At 26 Braiden is released into a world he no longer knows and doesn't know where he fits. He does however know that what he did was wrong and is determined to redeem himself, he just doesn't know where to start. I think L.A. did a great job writing how Braiden may be feeling, how he reacts to the new people and places in his life, and even the way he is with the only family member he has left; his twin sister Briony.
Braiden's story deals with him finding himself, finding his place and finding love... all this while "friends" from his past try and sway him to their side in an upcoming power struggle. I think that's about as much as I can say without putting spoilers.
I enjoyed this, and I'm honestly a little sad to see this series end, but L.A. Cotton certainly ended it on a high note. I'm giving Redemption and Regrets 4.5 stars as there were just a couple of tiny things I wanted to know a bit more about which is stopping me giving it a 5.
Well here we are back in Chastity Falls for book 4, the final (apparently) of the series. In the previous books Braiden was the upcoming promising replacement for his father. Nasty, vicious, selfish, deadly, Braiden was all the things you don't like in a character. The token bad guy, the villain. And his sister Briony was not really much better, vindictive, nasty, and a total b***h.
And here comes the BUT......
But in Redemption and Regrets we get to see the other side of Braiden and his sister Briony. We get to see more inside the reasons behind their actions in the past books and we see that following the death of their father and Braiden's incarceration they have both matured a great deal.
We are thrown four years into the future, four years after his father had him imprisoned.
Braiden goes into hiding because the O'Connor family want him dead and have already once tried to kill him.
He meets Cara and everything changes. The whole game plan, especially when a spanner is thrown into the works!!
I can't possibly say anymore about this book or I will spoil it.
This book, I absolutely could not put it down. I simply had to find out more and more about what happened next.
I have to say I am very disappointed in the thought of this being the last book in the series. I would very much like more, maybe Briony's story. But I guess all good things must come to an end.
We are back in Chastity Falls. Erm, not quite. But we are with Braiden this time around, instead of Jackson and Ana. I was really excited about going into this book. I have followed the Chastity Falls series from the very beginning and I am a huge fan of the whole series. This book does not disappoint either. We have Braiden's story, we get glimpses of when he was in prison but mostly what it's like after he's out. How his life has changed in the 4 years he was locked up. When you read the first books in this series, you really had Braiden. He's the a$$hole character, that most of the time you want to slap. That is why I was excited to read his story. He wasn't really a redeemable character to begin with, so I was wondering if he could actually change. I can't really go into a lot of detail about the story without spoilers. But I loved this book, it was kind of like a short and sweet ending to the series on a character that we all hated. But there's more to the story then catching up with Braiden. There are still a lot of secrets that Braiden eventually finds out. Some were complete shockers and some we already knew from reading the last book. All in all I loved this book, a perfect ending to a perfect series. P.S I have already suggested to L.A about more of Braiden. But I think I'm not the only that thinks this story shouldn't end!!! ;)
my heart hurts so bad! I can't express how excited I was when I heard that Braiden was getting his own book! I loved to hate him in the first books, I have a soft spot for villians lol. But now, now I love to love him!!
I loved seeing him go from being a vicious young man that would do anything to get revenge and inflict pain in people's lives whatever the cost. to being a man who had redeemed himself and change his ways! I believed that someone like him would do just that in the real world, and for that LA I applauded yiu! you made it all believable.
I was hooked from page one right until the end, even when I wasn't reading I was thinking about it. I'm struggling to find the right words to give this book justice, but I can't through fear of leaving a spoiler or hinting at certain parts of book that will lead to people click and saying ah-ha that happens!
I loved Cara! her sass and the way she wouldn't give up on Braiden and never let him go was just heart warming!
If you haven't read Chastity Falls yet, you have to read them! Give that one-click finger a work out and meet the gang!
You'll laugh, you'll cry, you want to launch your e-reader or paperback across the room, you'll swoon. but most of all you'll fall in love with Braiden, Jackson, Ana, Cara and the gang!

OMG!! this book it's fantastic! I hated this guy in the previous books but in this book, well he´s changed for good, I don´t hate him anymore, and I can understand him a lot better. It's sad to know this book it's the end of a great serie, I loved the first three books and this one wasn't the exception. When I started reading this serie Braiden was the characters I despised, he was mean and cruel, he took everything he wanted with any thought about the others, so when in book three he lands in prison i wasn't sad, he deserved every minute he would spend behind bars, but when i started this book i was face to face with a different Braiden, he finally has seen his wrongs, and wanted to do the right thing. He's torn between help family and live his own life free of the mob, the drugs and bad business, after all he's still a Donohue and people wont let him forget that. So when he finally met this kind soul that is Cara he couldn't help to drawn to her. They just connect and for the first time in his life Braiden have to work to have girl. This book it's just wow, you need to read it, you will love it. I was lucky to receive an early Arc of this book in exchange of an honest review. Thank you Lianne the journey of Chastity Falls series was great!!
We got the chance to dive in and read Braiden's story. Braiden has just been released after spending 4yrs in jail. He expects no one to be at the gate to meet him but finds Luke and his sister. This starts him questioning what is going on. He soon finds out that a plan to take down Frankie O'Conner is starting but the guys planning it all want him involved in this to help clear his family name. Braiden is unsure if he wants to take part of this plan and decides he needs some space to figure this out alone. He goes to Forest Grove to getaway for a few days and meets a girl and ends up falling in love with her. He doesn't realize she's really Cara O'Connor until it's too late. Will Braiden take part in this plan or will he choose to be with Cara O'Conner? I can't believe this is really the very end. I would of loved to of had more answers at the end since a few things were left unanswered. There's always hope that it was left this way for maybe a spin off series. It's a long shot but we can hope for it. This was a great series and I'm really sad to see it end.
I received an Arc in exchange for an honest review
I've been holding out for this since last year and discovering Braiden had a book coming - he is one of those characters you can't help but love to hate!
Obviously through the CF series we have discovered about Braiden's background so this focuses on his life after he is released from prison and he is thrown straight back into the world he now wants to get away from.
He's a changed man after all of the thinking he has been able to do inside and I actually found myself warmed more to him straight away and wanted him to be free of his past. And then he met Cara O'Connor which changed everything...
I found myself in tears even half way through the story as I could see his life slipping away again and he had lost his fight that he was so driven by previously - he is such a changed man, but still broken and I wanted to hug him and tell him it would all be ok!
L A Cotton has done such a good job with the last book in this series and it ties it all together brilliantly right at the end.
I was hooked through this and I am so sad that it is the end of Chastity Falls! It has certainly been a good ride! 5* for the final installment.
I absolutely hated Braiden in the first two books of this series. I remember wanting to reach into my kindle to throat punch the douchenugget. Needless to say, I was a little hesitant to read this but I just had to know if he would redeem himself. He had his work cut out for him, that's for sure.
I was hooked right from the start and didn't put my kindle down until I was done. Yeah, it's 4 am and my head is still all abuzz from everything that happened. I don't want to say too much about the story itself and end up leaving a spoiler. I will say that it was a great story that had me laughing, crying, holding my breath, swooning, clutching my chest, and sitting on the edge of my seat. Oh and I'll be on one hell of a book hangover when I have to get up at 6 am.
I love this series and I really do hope the story continues. There are few things I'm curious about. I've stalked around quick but didn't see any mention of a Book 5. I guess I have to go into Crazy Ass Stalker Mode.
This series is beyond amazing. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel reading a book about the evil Braiden Donahue. He was so easy to hate in the other books in this series and I didn't know how that would play in to my feelings about this book. However, time changes everything….even the devil himself! We get to see a whole new Braiden in this story and it is captivating following his journey to discovering who Braiden really is. He finally learns the truth that has been hidden from him for so many years and he finally gets the chance to choose his future and who he really wants to be. Like all of the Chastity Falls series books, this one absolutely doesn't disappoint!
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
If you have read the previous Chastity Falls series, you will know Braiden. Well, this is his story. When I first started reading the Chastity Falls series, I really, really, really disliked Braiden, but in this book, the author has made me love him. When Braiden is released from prison, his sister and her boyfriend are there to pick him up. He finds out that Frankie O'Connor is out to get him, so he goes into hiding at Forest Grove. While there, he meets an annoying, fiery girl by the name of Cara. This book had me from the start to the end, and I had so much trouble putting it down.
Betrayed by his father, Braiden needs to find out who he is. When he meets Cara there is something about her and he is drawn to her. When issues from both of their pasts get in the way is there a way for them to find happiness? Can Braiden recover from everything that has happened? I was so moved by this story. It was emotional and so enjoyable to read. Great book!
I received an ARC from the author LA COTTON in exchange for an honest opinion. This is Mismousey’s very honest opinion of her book REDEMPTION & REGRETS CHASTITY FALLS BOOK 4.
Now this mouse has to say – she has read all of the books in this amazing series. I was looking forward to this next book so much. Ms. Cotton did not let me down one bit. Nope not at all -matter of fact she surprised me with this storyline completely.
Having read all of her books – I know her writing her style. And in this book she is true to form with it. The author brought all of the emotions (love-hate- guilt-forgiveness-revenge-regret). Whereas the reader is not only able to read them but also feel them. Ms. Cotton has you held captive from the very beginning -when you open the book. You – the reader -are held hostage till the very end needing to know what happens next. You find yourself on the edge of the page – turning an turning to find out what happens till the very end.
The way in which these amazing characters are defined and detailed. You are able to visualize them right before your eyes. What about the scenes? My goodness- they are described so terrific and in such detail. The details are described so well. You are able to see the actual scene right before your eyes. Picture this – Branden being beaten so severely in a basement over and over again. That he can hardly stay upright on the chair. His face is a mess- yet he tells them nothing. You are feel that you are a part of them. Can you imagine seeing Braiden Donohue reuniting with his sister? Can you imagine Branden being beaten like that?
As our story opens – We find our main character Braiden Donohue just being released from prison. He is wondering if anyone will be waiting for him when he gets out. He doesn’t care – his own father turned his back on and grandfather has left him to rot in prison. When he is released - his kid sister Briony met him. Her and her boyfriend picked him up -took him back to their apartment.
Luke wants Braiden to come back into the fold. As soon as they get back to the apartment he goes to meet the guys and talk with them. They want to met with Braiden- so he goes back to get him. Before Braiden decides to rejoin he wants to think about it.
Braiden leaves town -Luke takes him to his ex-girlfriend apartment that she rents out. The only thing is he has to do is lay low an use another name. Braiden Donohue does not exist here at all. Here he is Braiden Kelly and he meets Cara O'Conner. Not realizing that she is the daughter of the man that killed his father- and tried to kill his sister -ordered the hit on him.
As our story continues Braiden falls in love Cara. But realizes that they can not be together. Her father will not allow it. O'Conner gives Braiden a choice. What will Braiden choose? Redemption or Regrets? This story has so many twist and turns .
It has held captive from the moment you open the book till very end of the end of the book. You are left wanting more and more of this gripping -moving-mind blowing story. At the en of the story you find yourself wanting more of Chastity Falls - asking is there going to be another book? OH PLEASE OH PLEASE SAY YES!!
I recommend this book this book to all readers. Especially those that love contemporary romance , suspense. Mismousey gives this book a firm rating of 80 of 5 mouse paws. Today we have the pleasure of having with us the amazing very talented AUTHOR LA COTTON. I am very honored to have here with us this morning-to discuss your latest book. REDEMPTION & REGRETS CHASTITY FALLS BOOK 4. I have followed this series from the beginning to now. And I am so looking forward to this discussion. With that being said- May I call L. A. ? And I see from your bio that your from a small town in the middle of England- your mum of 2 little people. With all the recent events that have taken place over in Europe recently. How has it affected your life? and your as a writer?
L A – Honestly, I’m not entirely sure how to answer this question. Recent events in Europe were tragic and heart breaking, but similar events are happening all over the world every day, and as a mother of two small children, I fear what the future holds for them. Of what the world will be like when they grow. I want to believe that good will prevail but I’d be lying if I said these weren’t scary times.
Mousey--Have you always known you wanted to write? Who or what influenced you to write?
L A – I have only been writing for a little over two years, but I have always been creative. I kept a diary as a young girl and enjoyed writing letters to my friends, that kind of thing. But I have always loved to read. It is something that has stayed with me through my life, and when things got a little too much a couple of years back, I turned to books. I was reading a book by Kelly Elliot (her Wanted series) and had a lightbulb moment of ‘could I do this?’ I started plotted Fate’s Love and two years later, my ninth book is due for release.
Mousey--You write a wide selection of book for both the young adult and the adult. How did you come up with these books??
L A – Hmm, I’m not sure. Fate’s Love (my debut novel) was very loosely inspired on true events (it is definitely NOT biographical, but there are elements of truth in there). And the other two books in that series were created from the characters themselves; they had stories to tell. Chastity Falls was the series I wrote to push myself as a writer. To write something a little grittier and darker. Lucky Penny started out as my attempt at an epic love story – I’m not sure it ended up that way, but it’s probably my favourite project so far. I just adore Penny and Blake’s story. And my last release, a collaboration with my good friend Jenny Siegel, was another attempt at pushing my comfort zone. Even though I’m nine books in, I still feel like I’m finding my flow and learning my craft … so who knows what will be next.
Mousey--When you created the characters in this Chastity Falls series, did you base them off of anyone?
L.A – Nope. Everything about the Chastity Falls world is fictional – except for places (Oregon etc) Chastity Falls was my first attempt at really building a whole world around the characters, but I guess I used archetypes for certain characters. For example, the outspoken but loyal best friend (Elena) or the self-assured douchebag bad guy (Braiden).
Mousey--Do you have any favourite characters in your books? If so who??
L.A – Oooh, this is always a tough one but staying true to previous answers, my favourite character to date is Keefer from Love’s Spark. He was so much fun to write. I also really enjoyed writing Elena from Chastity Falls and Marissa from Lucky Penny (both kick ass best friends).
Mousey--Having read all 3 books in your Chastity Falls series, I am totally at aw with them. You have me captured from the moment I have started reading them. Tell me, what are your plans for this series?? Is this the last we see of Chastity Falls?
L.A – I went into writing Redemption and Regrets being certain it was the end. Now … well, now it’s more of a ‘hold that thought’. I don’t have any plans to write another book in the series, but who knows. We might see more of the gang in the future.
Mousey--How can your readers connect with you -stalk you like me the mouse ?
L.A – I’m fairly visible on social media. Readers can find me regularly posting on my facebook page: www.facebook.com/authorlacotton and I try to keep my website up to date: www.lacotton.com
Mousey--Do you have any projects/ books in the works that you can tells us about?? Book signing coming up?
L.A – Right now, I’m trying to figure out where I want to go next. I have at least three stories in my head all vying for attention – it’s exhausting (and a little crazy). I anticipate whatever does come next will be angsty and full of tension and drama … maybe it’s my mood! LOL.
Mousey--Is there anything that you would like to tell your readers?
L.A. – Thank you. For buying my books, getting in touch, spreading the word … it really is all about the readers. That’s why we authors do what we do. I love writing. I love creating worlds. But most of all, I love knowing that someone connected with my words. So thank you.

At the start of this, I figured there was no way for Braiden to redeem himself. He is the asshole bad guy with no heart and greed. But my mind started to change from the first chapter. Being in prison the last four years had a great impact on him. He had time to reflect on his past decisions and realize he will forever have to live with his discretions. Coming out, he didn't know what to expect. His father betrayed him and was now dead, he barely spoke to his sister, Jackson played a part in getting his father killed and disappeared. So when Briony came to pick him up, he was thankful that he at least had that much. But a lot has changed in the last four years. The Donohue legacy has come crashing down. Briony is involved with a guy that's been taking care of her while she was alone. Luke is apart of the families trying to overthrow the O'Connor rein and they want Braiden to lead the take over. But it's not all that simple. He's been rotting away the past four years, fight to stay alive; his priorities are not what they use to be. This is a big opportunity to create the life of power he's always wanted, but he's not sure that's what he wants anymore. Taking a break in a different city to process and figure out what he wants is supposed to clear his head. He was never supposed to meet Cara.
Cara is feisty little thing that isn't backing down. She's different from any other girl he's encountered. He's got a lot of secrets, but so does she. There's something about her that he can't get out of his head... but his past is going to catch up to him. And although they are falling quick for each other, they don't know a lot about each other. But when Braiden's identity is uncovered, they couple finds themselves in a modern day tragedy.
When you hate someone so profusely in the first three books for me i just couldn’t see a way this character could be redeemed, i thought that there was no way that this character would be one that i could love by the end of his book, well did L.A cotton change my mind.
I love when an author dies this for me it just proves how fantastic they are as a writer and how they can pull you in to a story that you thought you wouldn’t like and have you questioning yourself because they made you forgive his past and you fell in love with him aswell.
Braiden was such a horrible character in the first three books of chasity falls even though at the end of one of the books could you could see his loyalty but you still weren’t sure. He had been manipulated, lied to and been molded into something that was not he truly was. Well he paid the price and 4 years later he came out a better man than i could have imagined. It may have been the help of a certain someone but in the end he became who we wanted him to be.
For a story i thought i would hate and took me a while to read i am so glad i did it was one of my favourites in this box set.
If you want a story that sucks you in from the start and never want to put down this is the book for you and series. For me it was emotional, heartbreaking, beautiful and i loved every minute of it.
*Read as part of the boxset* Well well well this is the book about the boy we want to hate but we can't help but love! So this time we have moved away from Ana and Jackson and we get Braidens story! We mostly get the story from after his 4 years in prison.. but we also get glimpses of his past and what lead him to be why he ended up in prison in the first place. Damn this book has you sitting on the edge of your seat some parts.. it's not what you expect and I love that Braiden gets his butt kicked when Cara comes barreling into his life! Short bold and completely unexpected she changes his life... until he finds out the truths! Love how this book ended.. it definitely made my heart happy! Fantastic writing and I never want to leave this series ever.. straight into the next book for me!
It's always sad to see a series you've been following end. I didn't care for Braiden from the moment I met him. He was so horrible to Ana and not a good friend to Jackson. He redeemed himself in this book though. After 4 years of being in prison and completely out of the loop I'm glad he walked out of Oregon State with the desire to be a better person. I LOVED Cara. She was just this light in a dark world. She really helped define this book and helped pull Braiden in the right direction. Even though I enjoyed reading this book from Braiden's perspective at the beginning I was so glad that we got a chance to see Cara's side as well. I loved the epilogue. We got that last glance into Jackson and Ana. I will definitely miss reading about this group from Chastity Falls.
We switch characters in this forth book, Braiden has served his time and is now being released. He has changed during his time inside, now he just wants to live his life and hopefully make up for the bad. As with all these books it isn't straight forward, there are still more secrets and lies to cause angst and mayhem. It is intense and emotional at times and there is some violence. It also contains some suspense. Well written and interesting, I didn't like Braiden in the early books, he was to up himself and cocksure, thinking money and his name were everything. Jail has smoothed some of that and being left there by his father has left some bitterness and he is not as loyal to the name or family anymore. A new character adds some sparks, a pleasant freshness and even more mystery.
Although i hated Braiden in the previous book.i loved to see the mature and more tamed version of him. And the struggle he was going through is totally relatable. He seemed more reformed now which was kind of strange especially from him.
My advise to any reader here is go in blind, because you're gonna be shocked by the characters! That twist in the story, omg! I did not anticipate it and it got me more excited about the book. I just wanted to keep on reading to find out what happens.
