I was thrilled to be asked to read a paperback ARC of this book and thoroughly enjoyed this warm, gentle and gorgeous Christmas read. This is the third in the Glendale Hall series, and although I’d read the first, I somehow missed the second so am now planning to go back and read it.

Heather was a heroine I was rooting for all the way through as she battled against not only her own anxiety about her suitability as a farmer’s wife, but also her sod of an ex-boyfriend who turned up at just the right time to take advantage of her vulnerability - making her question everything, including her love for her lovely boyfriend Rory and her role as a mother to their young son, Harry. I particularly enjoyed the openness about overcoming anxiety and the wise advice from Heather’s mother, long gone but still present, and the letter (you’ll know when you read it) made me cry.

This novel held a wonderful cast of characters I wished were my real life friends, I loved the setting of the farm and nearby Glendale Hall, and it really started getting me in the mood for Christmas, even though it’s only autumn! I thought the ending was done well, and have an inkling as to which characters might feature in the next book... which I can’t wait to read.

Thank you to the author and publishers, Hera, for my ARC copy.

Community, Family, Strength, Courage, Bravery, Hope, Manipulation, Ex-boyfriends, Grief, Anxiety, Motherhood, Agriculture

Favourite Quote:
‘I sent a silent thank you to my mum for helping me to see what a blessing my life was...’

Summary:
Heather lives on Fraser Farm with her partner, Rory, and young child. She is struggling with grief surrounding her mother’s death, meaning she is unable to accept her partner’s marriage proposal. When her ex-boyfriend appears out of nowhere, she begins questioning her life choices and whether she could have done better for herself.

Opinion:
I’ve fallen in love with this uplifting story and with entire town of Glendale...I wish the characters were real! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The author really does an amazing job at creating a story-line which is not only light and cozy, but also has elements of relatability, which allows the reader to really feel like another member of their small, Scottish town. Overtime, it shows things fall into place and that there is always HOPE

P.s. Victoria has created a Spotify playlist to listen to whilst reading, and let me tell you now... THE FEEEEEELS!!!!

It was lovely to be back amongst the Glendale gang and to have the focus on Heather this time around.

I really enjoyed seeing how Heather was getting to grips with living on a farm and being a mother to 1 year old Harry. She is anxious that she isn't doing anything well enough and then the arrival of Stewart to Glendale fuels those feelings.

For Stewart is her ex-boyfriend from college, and he has big plans for Hilltop Farm, which is the land backing onto Heather and Rory's and he may have designs on Heather too.

I really didn't take to Stewart at all and he is rather the bad guy in it all, whereas Angus the rather gruff groundskeeper they have turns out to have a really lovely side to him.

I enjoyed getting to not only know these characters a lot deeper, but also catching up with Emily and Beth from the previous books, and seeing how their stories are moving on.

Glendale Hall is just such a lovely series, and it is always a treat to read the latest book, and this was no exception.

Thank you to Hera Books for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily,

This was a lovely feel good read and very easy and nice to read. However, I had to drop my rating to a 3 due to 1) the amount of spelling and grammatical errors and 2) the complete unrealistic-ness of parts of the story. I mean if Instagram is as simple as putting a snapshot of your life and a ‘woe is me’ post or an inspirational story then we would all be famous wouldn’t we?! I also found Heather the main character quite annoying.
But overall, an enjoyable read. I was very tempted to add the other books in the series to my pile, but in the end decided it wasn’t quite good enough for that.

Oh it was so great to return to Glendale Hall and the whole gang over there in Glendale but also it was so great for Heather to finally get her own story and what a story that was. I love going back to characters and settings that you are familiar with but fear not, if you haven't read the previous Glendale books (even though they're great) you get a whole back history of the gang through meeting them all again in this book and so you can dive right in with this snowy wintry visit.

Heather is a great character to pick up because she is a former librarian and so, like Izzy who we met in book one, she loves book. That makes her instantly relatable to anyone picking up this book because you both like to read! I also related to Heather because she has some anxiety issues that she deals with. These are dealt with so well throughout the novel. There is never a moment where she sits down and talks about her own mental heath but it is brought into the story throughout the book and so we get to learn about how she copes and the steps she's taken in learning to live with anxiety-such great writing here.

Of course this book has just about as much drama and romance and fun as the previous two novels. What will happen when someone new comes to Glendale set on making a real estate change? Will there be a proposal in this story? And how much baking can we fit into each chapter? I loved reading about Heather and Rory and really getting to know the ins and outs of their lives. It shines a light on what it is like to be a farmer in this day and age as well as the mental health aspects I mentioned above.

Of course half the joy of this book was revisiting all the characters from the previous 2 books and also taking a strong down the Christmas tree trail and I really can't wait to catch up with everyone again int eh next installment of this series!

Hopeful Hearts at Glendale Hall is book three in the Glendale Hall series. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone as they focus on the story of one of the characters but the characters lives from previous novels do carry on so I would highly recommend reading all the books in the series in order. The books in order are:

Coming Home to Glendale Hall

New Beginnings at Glendale Hall

Hopeful Hearts at Glendale Hall

What I’ve come to learn from Victoria Walters novels is that I will be totally and utterly captivated by the story. Life around me will cease and I will be engrossed amongst the pages of life and love in an idyllic village in the Scottish countryside. Hopeful Hearts at Glendale Hall sees us discovering more about Heather’s life.

Heather has been living on the farm with her boyfriend Rory and son Harry for just over two years. She is still unsure about this rural farm life as she felt she was a townie at heart and had dreamed of working all suited and booted maybe with her literacy or design love. But when she fell hopelessly in love with Rory life moved very fast and she’s now a mother of a toddler and works alongside Rory on the farm. Heather is feeling very overwhelmed with life in general and her grief from her mother passing 5 years ago still feels very raw. She feels anxious that she is not fulfilling any of her roles and when her ex-boyfriend reappears in the village bringing forth new exciting ideas to her head she is even more confused.

Stewart, Heather’s ex-boyfriend, broke her heart at a time when she needed him most. She met and fell in love with him at university when life was without responsibilities and there was plenty of fun to be had. Now Heather is settled and has responsibilities Stewart cannot understand where his girlfriend from the past has gone. I think he regrets his actions from the past and will do anything to get Heather’s affections again. Stewart is a property developer from Edinburgh and his company have set their sights on building a new development on the adjoining land to Rory’s farm. Heather becomes a little star struck with Stewart and his grand ideas but when he starts subtly manipulating her and her friends point out little comments she starts to wonder why his turning up in her life was on purpose and whether he had an ulterior motive to his actions.

Another gorgeous instalment in the Glendale Hall series. I adored returning to the village of Glendale and learning how my favourite characters were fairing in life. I loved Heather and Rory’s story, the author Victoria Walters, kept me on edge a little while wondering what she will throw at my book friends next. I always feel welcomed into the fold of community life in Glendale as it’s a very warm-hearted village. However, it’s not all idyllic in Glendale as life still trundles along with plenty of hurdles to face but with a heart full of hopefulness life can be faced with a different perspective.

A story full of warmth, comfort, friendship and love.

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Thank you to Rachel for letting me take part in this tour. I loved the first two books so I was very excited to read Heather's story.

This story is really perfect for this year. Victoria wrote the majority of this book before the pandemic really hit the UK and sent us into lockdown but a lot of the themes of this book are so relevant right now.

Heather is so easy to identify with. She has anxiety and low self-esteem. She constantly feels she isn't good enough. This is something that we have all felt before. Heather goes on such a journey in this book and I was so proud of her. I also really related to Heather's grief of losing her mum. I lost my mum when I was very young and while the pain lessens over the years it never really goes away.

Rory Fraser. Oh, this man is just the whole package. He is so patient and understanding. All he wants to do is look after Heather and their son Harry. He is a hard worker and cares about the community too. If you can't tell I fell in love with Rory.

I loved the different flashbacks throughout the book. I love mixing up timelines and that sort of thing so this really appealed to me.

It was so lovely to revisit Glendale, especially during the festive season. It's a perfect place to spend Christmas. This was my first festive book of the season and it really set me up for many many more. It was a real feel-good festive series.

Victoria hinted at another story throughout the book and I really really hope that we get another book because I just love this place.

Heather is still adapting to life on the farm with young son Harry, and her partner Rory who grew up there, working the land.
But is this the right life for her? She has her doubts, despite having close friends in her home village, her dad and memories of her mum. Plus Rory has proposed but she hasn't accepted yet. And then her university Ex, Stewart, turns up, with plans to develop nearby land and romantic aspirations that turn Heather's head...
What a gorgeous Christmas read! It really got me in the mood for the festive season and the snowy rural setting was just beautiful and provided the perfect escape from current difficult times.
Emotional, moving, funny, heartwarming - this novel has got it all. Highly recommended!

A gorgeous feel-good story about embracing the unexpected and finding your place in life. With a stunning setting and fabulous cast of characters, I'm already looking forward to the next one.

There are two books in the series before this one which I hadn't already read but there was enough back story in Hopeful Hearts at Glendale Hall for me to follow what had happened in those. This book therefore can definitely be picked up now and thoroughly enjoyed. I'd now like to go back and read the other two as my interest has definitely been piqued and, of course, a return to the stunning Scottish Highlands would be lovely.

This was a fantastic read, I knew it would be! I was really looking forward to being back in Glendale with the whole gang and it didn’t disappoint. Book 3 in the series focuses on Heather who we have seen and heard from during the first 2 books (not to worry if you haven’t read them, this can be read as a stand-alone but I urge you to start at the beginning, you won’t regret it!) I love Heather, she is by far my most favourite character in the Glendale series. I enjoyed getting to know her more, adjusting to her new life on the farm with Rory and their son, (every book needs a hunky man and here we have Rory! Where do I sign up to be a farmers wife?) Vicky brings to life such a relatable character in Heather, quite the worrier (aren’t we all at times) I felt like she was holding the weight of the world on her shoulders and I wished she would open up more, as the saying goes a problem shared is a problem halved.’ I wanted to step into the book, give her a big hug and tell her ‘she’s got this’ because deep down I believe she does. Heather is definitely made of tough stuff and can do anything she sets her mind to, if only she believed it. But with every book you need some kind of villain and in steps Stewart to rock Heathers world making her second guess all her choices. What a git!! We don’t like him ok! I struggled to put this book down, with the farm under attack and Heather drifting between her past and present I just couldn’t call where it was leading to. Of course I won’t spoil it and let you find out for yourself! This book gave me all the feels, it made me want to live on a farm (with Rory.. his part of the farm package right!), it made me excited for Christmas, it made me want to consume my body weight in hot chocolate! If you are looking for that escapism read then look no further! The Glendale series just keeps getting better and better and fingers crossed for a fourth book!

My word this series has all been amazing but each book just gets better and this one was simply outstanding and so amazingly well written. I didn’t want the story to finish and hope there will be more from this series. Full of moving forward and letting the past go plenty of romance and heartbreak as well. The characters are brilliant and you get so engrossed in the story from the first page.
Heather has been living on a farm with her partner Rory in a small Scottish village but although he’s asked her to marry him she just can’t as her mum passed away and she wants her mum there. They have their child Harry and she’s so nervous of doing everything wrong and loosing Rory to. She suddenly sees her ex steward in the village and he says he wants to buy the farm that a joins her and Rory land and open a golf course and hotel and he wants heather to help him but is this what she wants and he keeps saying she would be better off with him as he can offer more and she hates living on the farm. She’s so confused but strange things keep happening on the farm that she can’t explain and how will Rory react when he realises steward is in the village and his plan. Suddenly with heather posting on her instagram page her confidence is starting to grown quicker than she realises and can she learn in time to save the farm or will it be to late and will she be able to stay with Rory or will she run back to her ex. The one person she least expected to help her does and can she finally move forward in the right way.

I have been a fan of Victoria’s work for a while now. I absolutely adored her Glendale Hall series. So imagine my excitement when I discovered that not only was Victoria due to release another book, but it was the new book in the Glendale Hall series. I even did a little happy jig which was thankfully only witnessed by my two Labradors. I literally couldn’t wait to start reading so without further ado, I grabbed my Kindle, grabbed a cup of tea and then settled down for an afternoon’s reading. Oh boy, ‘Hopeful Hearts At Glendale Hall’ is another cracking read from Victoria and I enjoyed every single minute of it but more about that in a bit.
As soon as I started to read, that was it. I knew that there was going to be no point in planning on doing anything else other than reading this smashing book. I had only intended to read a couple of chapters to dip my toe in the water but I ended up enjoying the story so much that I read for a solid couple of hours and read way more than two chapters. To say that reading this book proved to be addictive seems a massive understatement. If I wasn’t reading this book, I was thinking about it. If I had to put the book down for any reason then I would immediately look forward to being able to pick the book up again. It didn’t take me long to feel as though I had reunited with old friends in the forms of some of the characters. I became a bit too involved in the story to the extent that I kept telling a certain character to go away (not the words I wanted to use) as he just irritated me so much. I soon worked my way through the story and reached the end of the book, which I had been dreading because it meant that I had to bid farewell to Glendale Hall again. ‘Hopeful Hearts At Glendale Hall’ was a delight to read.
‘Hopeful Hearts At Glendale Hall’ is superbly written but then I have come to expect nothing less from Victoria Walters. I love the way in which she writes stories involving such lovely characters. Victoria certainly knows how to grab your attention from the start and draw you into the story. She uses such vivid and realistic descriptions that I really did feel as though I was part of the story. Reading ‘Hopeful Hearts At Glendale Hall’ felt like a hug from a mug in that whilst you were reading it you felt all warm and fuzzy inside.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Hopeful Hearts At Glendale Hall’ and I would definitely recommend this author to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Victoria’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

Hopeful Hearts at Glendale Hall is the latest release by Victoria Walters and sees us returning to Glendale on our third visit, reuniting us with some much loved and familiar faces. This time Heather is taking the lead role and as we peel back the layers that Heather has hidden behind, we begin to see the real Heather and she really did touch my heart.

Heathers first love Stewart unexpectedly arrives in Glendale which stirs up a whole heap of emotions for Heather. Stewart has plans for the neighbouring farm which could have a detrimental effect on Rory and Heathers farm so when Stewart offers for Heather to come onboard in the set up of the farm she contemplates taking the job to protect their farm but will there be too many emotions involved that could make Heathers world crumble?

Victoria Walters always excels in creating such strong believable and supportive friendships in her novels and this novel continues to show the strong bond between Heather, Beth and Emily. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses but they are always there with a listening ear and will always support each other in everything they face.

I sympathised so much with Heather and as we got to know more about her character unravelling the layers behind which her anxiety and vulnerabilities lie I felt like I warmed to her character. It became clear as the storyline flowed that events from her past had had an effect on her which has had an effect on her confidence and self-belief and that’s why with each little step she took and each little nugget of positivity she created with her Instagram posts she slowly started to believe in herself and was beginning to find out that she truly does belong on the farm and that although she may not be the most natural at day to day farm life others skills she has can still help in a big way.

Rory really is the perfect patient loveable and hardworking man and I have to say at times I did feel sorry for him and disappointed in Heather.

The storyline also looks at how grief can hold you back in certain aspects of your life but that sometimes it can just take one thing to change your mindset and look at something in a different way that will then help you to move forward and gently let go.

I enjoyed this visit to Glendale getting to know Heather, Rory and Harry a little more as well as catching up with the other characters to see how things are changing for them too. This book gets another thumbs up from me.

The Glendale Hall series has been one of the best new finds that I’ve come across in the last year, so I was thrilled to receive an ARC of Hopeful Hearts at Glendale Hall from the author.

This was another enjoyable instalment in the series. This time, the focus is on Heather and Rory. Heather has had a lot of big things happen, and made big decisions in a rush, and still feels very uncertain as to whether it’s the right thing for her. It was lovely to see her come into her own by the end of the book. I really like both her and Rory, who is so patient with her. We also get to see well loved characters from the previous two books, who form a supportive community that is great to see.

I’m not normally a fan of stories skipping about in time, but it works really well in this book, the memories fitting in seamlessly with the main narrative. They definitely add something to the story, allowing us to see important moments in Heather and Rory’s relationship so far, without having to go over everything that has happened.

There was only one little thing that niggled me about this story. When Stewart repeatedly hints that he wants them to be together romantically, Heather says nothing to indicate she’s not interested, for quite a long time. However, I think it’s just that she’s so anxious about everything, she’s not able to be sure, even about her relationship with Rory.

I loved the subplot with Angus, the way he starts to come out of his shell a little by the end of the book. It was wonderful to see how everyone worked together to stop the fire from taking hold, especially the way Heather stepped in. I enjoyed seeing the trust build between Heather and Angus.

If you’re looking for a feel good story to make you smile, then look no further! This one will warm the cockles of your heart.

I was given a free copy of this book, my opinions are my own.

I was so excited when I heard Hopeful Hearts at Glendale Hall was coming out and could not wait to read Victoria Walters' third book in the Glendale Hall series. The first two books were such excellent and enjoyable reads and this one was even better! It was so lovely to be back at Glendale Hall - I missed the stunning village of Glendale, the people, the community, the friendships and the food! Glendale Hall is a place full of love and warmth where everyone should be able to visit and stay. Hopeful Hearts at Glendale Hall focuses on Heather and Rory and is such a perfect book, a beautiful romantic read, with the serious issues of anxiety tackled so well and so sensitively. Throughout the book anxiety is addressed and Victoria Walters shows us that whatever we have to deal with in life, however hard life is, however tough we find situations, that there are ways through, and with help from our loved ones and friends, we can navigate the very difficult path together. By the end of the book, Heather shined. She was always shining as she is such a wonderful lady who offers so much and did so much for her family and the farm, but because of her insecurities and anxiety, she could not see it. But with her family and friends by her side, she saw she could, and she certainly did! A very courageous lady who I hope we hear more about in future books.

An absolutely tremendous read, which I did not want to end. I love love love Victoria Walters books and cannot wait to read more.

Thank you very much to Victoria Walters and Hera Books for my advanced copy.

Unlike the previous Glendale book, in this one the main character, Heather, has lived in the village all her life. However, she lived in the main village not on the farm so farm life is still something she is adjusting to and we see that in the story.

Heather is not a confident person, she worries about everything and living on a farm, which was never her plan after university, just seems to make things worse. However as her ex Stewart arrives in the village and her home seems to be under threat she finally starts to realise what she really wants from life.

It was good to see Heather develop through the course of the story. She goes through a lot in the book because of her own anxieties and also because her ex Stewart arriving, reminds her of the life she was going to live before everything changed. I liked Heather and the other main characters and had a lot of fun not liking Stewart. He was obviously not meant to be liked but it was interesting watching him try out different approaches and see how he reacted to what was happening.

It was also really good to revisit the other characters from the previous Glendale book, though this one can definitely be read as a stand alone. It was really good to spend time in a village where people rally round each other and there is such a strong sense of community.

This is a lovely read that is perfect for winter, being as some of it is set over Christmas. It can also be read at any time when you need something comforting and cosy and want to escape from the world for a while.

*I voluntarily reviewed this book from the tour organiser.

I always love returning to Glendale and I have to say that this time was my absolute favourite!

Heather has the perfect life - a man who loves her, a toddler they adore, and a farm in one of the most beautiful places you could imagine. What more could you wish for, right? But Heather is feeling stressed about the farm and her own capabilities, missing her mum and living a different life than the one she thought she would live. And when her ex-boyfriend, Stewart, moves to the village and gives Heather a fabulous new opportunity, she cannot help but wonder if maybe she needs a fresh start. As Christmas draws closer, can Heather figure out who she is and what she wants from life before it's too late?

With a magical setting as always, characters that feel like family, and plenty of drama and decisions to be made, HOPEFUL HEARTS AT GLENDALE HALL by Victoria Walters is the best one yet in this enchanting series. I felt for Heather who is struggling with everyday life worries and grieving at the same time, and I was right there with her as she tried to figure out what would make her happy. A fantastic book and a fantastic series, HOPEFUL HEARTS AT GLENDALE HALL is a must-read and I cannot wait for more from this author.

What a charming and emotional read!

Heather seems to have a life most women would be envious of. She has a doting boyfriend, Rory, and a beautiful baby boy, Harry. She lives on a picturesque farm, working with Rory. However, Heather is also struggling. She always worries about not ever fitting in on the farm, especially since this life is completely out of her comfort zone. She has always struggled with anxiety, but losing her mother years ago seems to have made it harder to manage. When her ex shows up in Glendale, it only complicates things for her, making her question every decision she has ever made.

I loved the characters, even the secondary ones! Heather stole my heart because I live with anxiety as well. Like her, you do feel like you are alone in your emotions at times. I admired her strength and determination. Rory had a way of calming her and steadying her when she needed him. He was the perfect match for her, even if she sometimes felt she didn’t belong with him.

While this is a romance, it was so much more! I liked that the couple was together from the beginning. That is something quite different than a lot of others in the genre. I liked seeing what happens after the couple get together! In addition, it was also a story about a woman finding her place in the world. A book can’t get much better than that!!!!!

*edit to add review*

Hopeful Hearts at Glendale Hall may be book 3 in Victoria Walters Glendale Hall series but I felt right at home with these characters. The book is a stand alone read in the series and it focuses on Heather Douglas and her life on the farm. Heather and her partner Rory seem to have had a whirlwind romance, falling in love and also falling pregnant fairly quickly at the same time, Rory wants to marry but Heather is putting off as she feels lost after losing her mother fives years prior. At first I couldn't wrap my head around her reasons for not marrying Rory just because her mother wasn't there, I haven't lost my mum but I have lost my dad and I feel devastated that he wont be around to walk me down the aisle but it wont stop me getting married (only money is the problem at the moment!) but as the story progressed I began to understand her feelings.

I loved the characters, Heather really goes on a journey through this book, from finding her footing being a farmers 'wife' and living on a farm to dealing with the sudden appearance of an old boyfriend who is hell bent on making both Heather and Rory's live hell in a pursuit to get her back.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters and the setting was just amazing and I honestly can't believe that I have not read this author before! I cant wait to go back and start book 1 in this series.

I was certainly not disappointed with the third in this series, having loved the first two. It lives up to the standard of those and I was delighted to reacquaint myself with all the familiar characters. The focus of this third novel is the relationship between Heather and Rory and their life at Fraser Farm. Family and friendships certainly figure large as does being part of a community and looking out for each other.

There are some harsher themes embedded in the story. Heather's lack of self- esteem and anxiety is a major factor but there is also a strand which looks at the effect on a farming community of inappropriate development. You also get to follow Heather's attempt to come to terms with what is really important to her as she has to decide whether hopes for the future can change. As the snow settles over the village and Christmas sparkles, there are plenty of gorgeous moments, full of cosy evenings, firesides and Christmas lights. I hope that I detected the possible direction a fourth book might go in. Fingers crossed!

In short: The past threatens to disrupt this Christmas cheer.

This is my first book in the Glendale Hall series, and I loved it. There's a vibrant highland community with authentic characters who enrich the story and draw you into their world. A wonderfully wintry setting is the backdrop for this story of family, friends and choices. Heather and Rory have a highland farm. Anxiety and grief dominant Heather's life and make her question her life choices. Rory is supportive but struggles to understand Heather's worries.

There are characters from previous books featured in this, but it's a standalone story. Heather and Rory's future is jeopardised, by someone from Heather's past, and as this conflict is real, you fear for their happy ever after.

The plot is simple but effective, you empathise with Heather's dilemma but mostly with Rory whose love never wavers. All this angst is amid threats to the way of life, snow and the festive celebrations. Emotional and relatable this is a perfect festive read.

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

Ok

I’ve read the first two books in the series back to back and went straight into the 3rd.I LOVED the first two books but not this one I struggled through the last half of the book.I just couldn’t find myself liking Heather and the way she was when her ex boyfriend turned up I’m surprised Rory still wanted to marry her.Heather has lost her Mum but this was very repetitive along with her anxieties and worries over being good enough.
I also felt the storyline was too similar to the first book in the sense of stopping someone from buying property and how they could change this and buy it themselves.
Ps I could be wrong here because I haven’t doubled checked but in the first book I’m sure Izzy had red hair like her Dad(Drew)but somewhere in this books Heather said she had dark hair like her mum.
Having said all that I think there is a 4th book coming out and I will 100% be giving it a read.

I have read all 3 Glendale Hall books in about a week and it has been the loveliest week! Glendale was a gorgeous place to get lost and to meet some wonderful new friends.

Hopeful Hearts is Heather's story and what a fantastic story it is! I identified with her a lot, especially with her having lost her Mum before she'd done the traditional grown-up things like marriage and babies. That really resonated with me and made me love her even more.

It was wonderful to be back in Glendale for the holidays again. The festive atmosphere that Vicky creates through her writing is something so special. Her characters are so likeable and real that I hate leaving them behind.

Beautifully written and a perfect escape for this mad world!

Oh wow. This is something a little different isn't it? Christmas set on a farm. Perfect. But it's not as perfect as it sounds and they have a battle on their hands to keep their farm safe. I absolutely loved it. A cosy read.
It has a little bit of everything. Babies. Marriage. Romance. Families. Friends. Community. Christmas. Proposals. Exs. Mourning. Brilliant. Well written. The only thing that got me was a few of chapter were a little long for my liking but the story as a whole can't fault it. Loved the setting, community and most of the characters bar a few. A perfect getaway for my mind. You know I love a good Christmas read. Made me want to live on a farm.
A well deserves four stars from me. Highly recommend.

I thought that this book was superb!!

It has a well-developed plot, excellent characters and a cover to die for – I love books that are set in the Highlands of Scotland too as it is where I went on my first holiday with my husband and we spent our anniversary there and have been back a few times since too – this book was like a festive trip down memory lane for me!

The story was well planned out and very well written. The author has a fantastic writing style and it really suited this genre and it made for a superb festive read. Everything about the book worked for me and I loved trying to guess where the story was going ending was just perfect!

It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended!!

This is the 3rd book in the Glendale Hall quartet and I loved it as much I have the first two.
In this book we concentrate on Heather, who has a wee boy Harry and her partner Rory. She was the local librarian but due to the business of life on the farm she decided that she had to be on the farm full time. Whilst she enjoyed the work, she feels that she doesn’t quite fit in. She is also struggling with the loss of her Mum eight years previously and this is also stopping her from accepting Rory’s marriage proposal.
Enter Stewart, Heather’s ex-boyfriend from university. He has come to Glendale to develop the neighbouring farm into a hotel complex. He wants Heather to help him with the planning and the development in general. He also has an ulterior motive.
Can Heather work out what she wants before it is too late?
I liked Heather as a character and enjoyed she her grow and develop throughout the book. I didn’t like Stewart – don’t think we were supposed to like him. He was snide, devious and played on Heather’s insecurities. I enjoyed that although this book was mainly about Heather, we also revisited characters from the first two books and caught up with that was happening in their lives. I loved the sense of community within all the books and that helps to make the books so enjoyable to read.
Would recommend this series.

A gorgeous read that I loved curling up with as the seasons start to change and with autumn fast approaching. I loved my trip to Glendale Hall and getting to meet Heather and get a feel for her as a person.

Since moving to the farm Heather has had a case of imposter syndrome and this story explored the subjects of anxiety, grief and loss really well. I felt emotional at times throughout this story as there are some poignant moments that really tugged my heart strings.

A wonderful visit to the wonderful residents of Glendale with a few new faces thrown into the mix. I would love to live on a farm and this story totally captured my heart and left me missing reading about Rory and Heather.

Wow, wow, wow what a beautiful book. Victoria you have done it again. I didn't realise the third journey to Glendale would be even better than the previous two. I don't know how you do it but yet again I want to move there and be best friends with Beth, Emily and Heather. Hopeful Hearts is Heather and Rory's story. If you are only able to read one book this year make sure it's one of Victoria's and you won't be disappointed. Thank you for the journey, feeling bereft now. Hoping there will be a fourth visit in 2021 xxx
