Another great addition to this series! The main characters are great, and the whole elf-shape-shifting-into-a-dragon thing was cool. The romance is definitely on the steamy side of steamy-sweet. Fade to black, but plenty of described kissing. So if you are looking for a bit more romance to your clean romances, then you'll like this book and the whole series!

Angst Angst Angst and then it's over.

85% of the book dealing with how she feels about her father, it's over in literally one paragraph when he dies in an avalanche.

85% of the book dealing with how he feels about being a dragon, it's over in less than a page. Then it's not revisited at all, it's just gone.

Omg she was branded against her will. I assumed we were leaving up to love interest finding it before she told him and then it would be pages of him thinking she'd betrayed him and not talking to her and whatever. Noooooo, he finds out and then poof doesn't care. It's not even a blip in the page. The whole thing didn't even need to happen.

I absolutely love this series and this third book is every bit as fantastic as the others. We met Brielle in book two and this is her story along with Dorin the prince who is heir to Balaur. A Wylfenden princess and an elven prince turned dragon shifter, their journey is harrowing and dangerous and definitely eventful as they try to escape the clutches of the broyeurs sent by Brielle’s sadistic father who hates any kind of magic. There’s action and adventure, there’s humour and there’s sass and then there the love and slow burn romance that is so so swoony. We meet up with some old friends as well as make some fab new ones and the twists and surprises kept me guessing. All in all this is a fab addition to this series and I cannot wait to see where the author takes us next.

This is an enemy to lovers tale and it truly is enchanting, with a couple of characters who steal our hearts by their courage and a love which takes them both by storm. Brielle is the princess of Wylfenden, a Kingdom which hated magic and a King who was ruthless in seeing any who wielded this burnt alive at the stake. Doing this through his cruel group of broyeurs led by a sadistic man called Captain D'Aboville. Brielle hated the silks and political intrigue of the castle and preferred to don male clothing and search for the dragon artifacts she really loved. Till she found the magical rune stone which turned her world upside down. She unwittingly called forth a dragon, who answered her call and shifted to the most beautiful man she'd ever seen, losing her heart to him immediately she knew she had to get him out of her father's castle before he was killed. Turns out this was Prince Dorin, who thought himself to be under a curse when he suddenly sprouted wings and found himself covered in blood unable to remember how he got into the enemy's castle. Brielle was very kind hearted, had no time for the prejudices of her father, and wanted nothing more than to follow her heart and her heart pulled her in search of the dragon lord, the man who would become the king of their enemy the Belaur elves. I love that the heroine is so headstrong, and that she went against all her evil father stood for at the cost to her own life and I also love that such a fierce lord turned so soft and kind but with the strength of the dragon towards his mate who claimed her for his own. The romance is beautiful and the adventure thrilling in this enchanting tale, which was such a pleasure to read!

I loved Dorin save Brielle's story...
Two incredibly important characters from warring people meet and start to fall for one another.
With so much working against them, even someone's stubbornness and wish to do what's right, we get little moments that sizzle with connection.
I really love how this series really is a trilogy if stand alone titles, but you can read them in order to get chronological events and meet the characters asking the way.
Definitely recommend!

I truly loved this book. It is a clean fantasy series, which is a nice change of pace. I have read all 3 books in the Kingdom of Lore series and I truly believe this is my favorite. I've never read a dragon Shifter book before, so it was an absolute delight. I love Brielle and her fiery personality, and who doesn't love and want a sexy elven dragon shifter. 100% recommend this book.

Fantastic, enjoyable story. Who thought that enemies might become lovers. The book draws you in and there’s no stopping until you get to the end. Outstanding continuation of a magnificent series.

Romance is in the air and so is dragon fire. Enchanting the Dragon Lord is the third book in the Kingdoms of Lore series and it was freaking fantastic. The story follows the feisty Wylfen princess Brielle who we first met when she was traveling upon the high seas in Enchanting the Fae Prince and Filip's brother, prince Dorin of Balaur. This is an enemies-to-lovers (although he thinks she's the enemy when all she wants is to be his lover) romance as the pair find each other and follow their hearts to find their love.

I love Brielle, she is fantastic and is now added to the long list of the characters that I love in this series. Brielle is a princess who doesn't want to be a princess, she would rather wear a shirt, boots, and pants and explore the mountains for magical artifacts that do her princess duties which is understandable because her father is a magic-hating cruel man who uses his power as king to destroy those he can't understand. However, Brielle is kind, caring, opened-minded, very curious, and has an open heart, how she had a father like King Raoul is beyond me. Brielle loves magical history and is openly curious about it and while her father is determined to break her spirit and get her to do his bidding Brielle is strong and fights back every step of the way. So it's no wonder when she meets an elf-dragon (brand new thing) she lets her spirit guide her into an epic adventure.

We've gotten glimpses of Dorin in the previous books but I had no idea what the elf lord was like until now. Dorin is stubborn, a little gruff, and very serious, isn't open like Filip, and has trouble connecting to people. Admittedly it's not really the best time for him since out of nowhere he became a dragon and is losing himself, he thinks he's cured and is very distressed about the whole situation. I can't really blame him for that but he is sort of a grumpy jerk for most of the story. Brielle helps him out several times, she is kind to him, bright and happy, she tries to help him see that his dragon is a blessing and not a curse but he is just too stuck in the negative to see it. He feels so much responsibility being the heir to his kingdom and he's scared that his people won't accept him and that he's gonna hurt people. Wylfenden has been attacking the magic-folk from all over, they are the aggressors and the one thing he thinks he can do for his people, to secure peace is to take the Wylfen princess a prisoner. Things don't really work out how he plans, Brielle gets under his skin and helps him in ways he never expected. While Brielle never held on to the prejudices of her people Dorin did and I'm glad Brille was able to open his mind and his heart. They had a beautiful HEA or maybe in this series, I should say HFN because I'm sure this isn't the last time we see them.

Each of the books in this series is supposed to have fairytale/story influences kinda like a retelling and for the first two books it was obvious but for Enchanting the Dragon Lord I can't figure it out. For the life of me, I am trying to think of a fairytale with a cursed prince, a rebellious princess and for the life of me, I can't remember one. I could cheat and look in the notes from the previous book but I won't, either way, this story had a fairytale quality. Action and adventure, lovers from two different sides (wait a minute is it kinda an enemies-to-lovers Romeo and Juliet, maybe), magic, dragons, and war. It was an epic tale that was very entertaining and my favorite part, not only are introduced to a new and interesting character (I wonder who the next main female character will be, wink, wink) but the appearances. The gang is back together, all the couples from the previous books are a part of this story as well as my favorite group of fae and elves. Truly I love seeing them again, that they have a part in each other story so that I'm not really saying goodbye to them just yet.

Enchanting the Dragon Lord was awesome, I loved meeting Brielle and Dorin, their story was great and I loved every single minute of it. The story had a few surprises that I didn't see coming and it was great. I'm looking forward to getting to know the next leading character a little better and while I've never read Pride and Prejudices, I certainly know the myth of Hades and Persephone, it's actually one of my favorites so I'm really excited to read the next retelling.

Having already read books 1 and 2 in Alisha Klapheke's Kingdoms of Lore series, I have been eagerly waiting to pull book 3, Enchanting the Dragon Lord, from my TBR pile. While this book is the 3rd in a series, Klapheke writes these novels in such a way that readers can enjoy them as standalones.

If you like enemies to lovers, dragon shifters and a beautifully constructed high fantasy world that is loosely based on various fairy tales, then this book is definitely for you! In Enchanting the Dragon Lord, we are introduced to couple, Dorin and Brielle, whose road to happiness is fraught with many obstacles, including their own inner battles and prejudices, especially since they are from the long-standing enemy kingdoms of Balaur and Wylfenden.

Dorin, is an elven prince, heir to the kingdom of Balaur, who finds himself ‘cursed’ with a newly discovered dragon magic that he cannot control. He is broody, serious and bound by a strong sense of honor and duty to the family and people he loves fiercely. Brielle, Princess of Wylfenden, is a fiery spirit who loves adventure and the thrill of discovery. She bows to no one but finds herself trapped to stop the atrocities being committed by her father against those with magic.

Through a series of events, these two would be enemies find their fates inextricably tied as they engage in a battle of fiery wills and increasing and undeniable attraction for each other. While their arguments and flirtation definitely bring some of that dragon heat, the spice factor in this book is mild and so can appeal even to the most minimal of heat seeking readers.

In the end, it was great to see how these two characters, who each brandish a strong inner fire, complement each other and push one another to grow beyond what they even imagine for themselves. Brielle helps Dorin realize that his gift is a blessing with unending possibilities to help his people. Dorin lends his strength to Brielle in overcoming and leaving behind the legacy of hate that her father demands she embrace.

So far, I have read all the books in the series via audiobook and really enjoy the narration that both narrators, Caitlin Kelly and Gary Furlong, bring to the tale. Caitlin in particular shines in this piece and she is someone whose narration I have loved in many other wonderful audiobooks.

If you have not read any of Alisha’s series and like any and all of the below then definitely go and read this book!

*Enemies to Lovers
*Powerful FMC
*Fated Mates
*Touch Her and Die
*Dual POV
*Dragon Shifters and Fire

I was excited to read Enchanting the Dragon Lord ever since I heard it'd feature Dorin, Filip's elder elven brother, and Brielle, the Wylfen princess we'd met in the previous book. However, I was a bit reticent starting it thanks to the blurb and its mention of Dorin waking up covered in blood. Thankfully, there aren't that many of those scenes, and it's not that he's covered completely in blood; it's more like only his hands and face, and it's not human blood. So, having that settled, I was able to enjoy the story between Dorin and Brielle, his clear distrust of her, and her unique past and compassionate heart that would lead her to help others despite the rules set by her father, the Wylfen king, regarding people with magic.

Their adventure was interesting, and I definitely enjoyed the scenes from Dorin's POV, and especially so the ones where his dragon made an appearance. The delving into how the Broyeur's group worked added another layer, especially with their leader's interest in Brielle. I liked the cultural aspects that make each of the species different and unique, in this case, the Wylfen's language being French. :) It was also fun getting to see past characters from this series like Filip and Aurora as well as Rhianne and Werian, but I also enjoyed the introduction of new ones, like Maren. I can't wait to read her story next! ~ 4 stars

Content: PG-13
Sex: the author's usual brand of "steamy-sweet", meaning there are steamy kisses (tongue's mentioned, hands wander, but certain body parts are never mentioned) and innuendo, but the sex scenes are fade to black and always after the characters have been married.
Violence: usual Fantasy battle, but nothing (too) gory (stab/sword wounds, people getting burned by dragon fire).

I would like to read a book where the red head is not feisty. Just one.

This book was… okay, I guess?

This is partly my fault. I got this book during Stuff Your Kindle day, so I hadn’t read the two first book, so I had literally no interest in the two other couples that were in the previous stories. And they just felt kind of thrown there. Maybe if you saw them in the earlier books you loved them, but me? I just found them annoying, and it was like weird instant friendship.

And I probably would have read this book more quickly if it hadn’t been for the fact that I kept going back because I kept feeling like I had skipped something. Like, they were suddenly saying something and I was thinking “wait, why are they saying this?” Honestly it was strange.

The premise was fun, this could have been seriously good, but Dorin barely ever goes into dragon mode, and the whole losing control thing wasn’t used to its full extent. Also, like, their troubles could have been easily fixed if he’s gotten over the maybe hurting peeps thing. And Brielle apparently never had the decency to tell him he hadn’t burned her on purpose… it’s just… too many things just didn’t make sense or could have been fixed so much more easily.

The story felt rushed too. It was like we had to go to one thing to another without true development. Also, the dialogue felt like they were trying to be witty, but it just sounded forced. It didn’t flow.

Anyway, yeah. I really feel like a better editor could have fixed a lot of the issues.

Holy moly I finished this pretty fast! I really have been loving these books and their universe.
This is book 3 in the kingdom of lore series. (They are all standalone romantasy stories, you don't have to read them in order but I definitely recommend you do!) This book was about on par as the last one for me even though they were way different. Compared to enchanting the fae prince, the slowburn in this book was excruciating, but I love that about it. It makes sense considering this book is a love story between a prince and a princess from (VERY) enemy-countries.

I'll just dive right in to what I loved about the characters! Brielle was amazing, probably my favorite female protagonist so far in this series. She was so strong and adventurous, but also very kind and witty. Dorin was a good match for her, though I probably didn't like him as much as Werian from the second book, but that's just up to personal taste I guess haha, His powers in this book are super cool, as he finds out he is a dragon shifter.

The plot of this book was interesting. The drama and high stakes were very much there so I devoured this book fast like it was a piece of chocolate cake. I love the fantasy setting, and best of all, this book is all about dragons! and magic.
If you wanna good quick read, that's romantasy, with dragons, and enemies to lovers, or cool princesses. Then I recommend this book. Or really just the whole series!

As usual, I love the world the author builds and the vast majority of the characters they fill it with. I loved the plot of this, a true born enemies-to-lovers with their countries at war and a "cursed" prince. I really enjoy Brielle as a character, she wants nothing to do with her father or the wars he has created but would just like to go artifact hunting in the dirt. I don't like Dorin as much, this is just a personal preference but I like the MMC to be totally smitten with the FMC. It doesn't have to happen instantaneous (though I don't mind if it does) but it never felt like Dorin had those moments until fairly late in the book.

(Spoilers)
Dorin was cold and distant to Brielle the majority of the time. She kept saying he cared for her when she was injured, but he had set her on fire so it would have been real odd if he didn't at least attempt to take care of her after that. But the vast majority of their interactions after that is him being very dismissive and she kind of follows him around like a puppy despite that. Not a huge fan of that.
Also I'm confused about Brielle's "magic". She has none but others sense it in her. Nothing comes of this, I don't know why this was added. It's perfectly fine for a character to be completely mundane.

I have loved the Kingdoms of Lore books, and this was no different. We met Brielle in book 2, Enchanting the Fae Prince. I really liked her character, and really enjoyed getting to know her more in her own story! Prince Dorin has intrigued me since we met him in Enchanting the Elven Mage, although Prince Filip and him are tired for #1 in my book, and I really loved getting a glimpse into the broodier of the brothers and his story!
These two were so much fun getting to know. While each had a trial and mysteries to face on their own, when they came together, it was fantastic!! I didn't want to stop reading! The tension between Dorin and Brielle was on point, as was the humor from the other characters; some we already know and love, while we're introduced to new characters as well! One of which will be getting their own story, starting a new series, and I'm here for it! We also get a cameo from the OGs of this world that we met in Dragon's Rising, and I was giddy getting to see them again!
As always, Alisha does a bang up job of creating a world I love exploring, and characters I root and care for. I highly recommend this series!

A spellbinding fantasy!

Brielle, A princess of Wylfen. Not your typical princess, no, not at all. She likes nothing better than to dress in shirt, pants and boots so she can dig for ancient artifacts to study. Then there is Dorin, prince and heir to the throne of Balaur. Both countries are mortal enemies. Brielle finds herself saving Dorin from her fathers assassins.. From there the chemistry between the two starts building and I enjoyed the interaction between the two of them. With heart hammering danger you can expect the unexpected and some surprising twists to delight any reader. There is a wild Dragon, A terrible curse, a magic rune stone, secrets revealed,
the kings assassins, and of course forbidden love. This book has a wonderful storyline and is fast paced. It is imaginative and captivating with non-stop tension that kept me turning the pages. Its a stylish classy, timeless story. The author never fails to delight me with her imaginative storytelling. So go ahead and immerse yourself in this wonderful story. I am thrilled to recommend this book to all of you!

Forbidden love. I love how Alisha transports me to a different world, one so alive and so well depicted, I feel like I've fallen into my own rabbit hole, into a world full of intrigue, plots, sub plots and danger! The romance is tender and gentle, building up slowly. And the humour always catches me off guard, having me, quite literally, snorting out loud! Even though the characters are different in each book, it ties in with the rest of the series beautifully, bringing in familiar characters from previous books, as well as new characters. Brielle, a rebellious princess, Dorin, an Elf prince meet in the most bizarre manner and each is drawn to the other. Their journey together is full daring and unusual challenges. I was surprised at the revelation towards the end of the book, didn't see that coming! But by the same token, having read the Previous books, I should have put 2 and 2 together. I do enjoy a good fantasy romance and the way Alisha spins the tale, no sugary or soppiness, just tender and sweet. An absolute delight to read, penned by a master novelist!

Book 3 in the Kingdom of Lore series does not disappoint! I loved the tale of Brielle and Dorin. We met the feisty princess of Wylfenden in Enchanting the Fae Prince and Dorin is brother to Prince Filip who was featured in Enchanting the Elven Mage. It was fun to get to know these characters more and I think this might even be the best book in the series so far! There’s lots of action as the characters face off against the Wylfen and the romance is swoony. Plus there’s new magic since Dorin can suddenly shift into a dragon which hasn’t been heard of in hundreds of years. Lucky for him Brielle isn’t scared of him, but rather finds him fascinating, not to mention attractive. She plays a huge role in his acceptance of his new ability. I was also happy to see the old familiar faces of Aury’s 3 Fae guardians. They are always a hoot! I highly recommend this series if you enjoy fantasy romance!

Enemies to Lovers Fade to Black Romantasy

Brielle, princess of the country that hates magic, just wants to dig for dragon and other ancient and lost artifacts. She absolutely hates all that her father does and stands for. She has no hatred for those with magic, instead she's curious and wants to learn more about what the person can do.
Dorin, crown prince of the Elven kingdom, believes he is cursed. He has lost time and wakes covered with blood. He is worried he will kill those he loves so avoids his home and family. He can turn into a dragon, he is reluctant to see it as a blessing like Brielle keeps telling him.
The adventure is well paced and full of multiple perils. Like the previous two books in the series you are guaranteed a happy ever after.
Enemies-to-lovers, this standalone story is definitely on the steamy/fade-to-black side of romance.
I will be reading more by this author.

4.5 (really great)

I have enjoyed every book in this series a little more than the last, though I have a feeling my ratings of the first two would maybe increase a little on a re-read. I also think having gotten to known several characters now, the world (which has expanded each book), plus now add in dragons it makes sense that my enjoyment has just kept increasing.

This is Brielle and Dorin’s love story and I like to think of it as a nod to Romeo and Juliet, though I only just now thought of that, lol. Both characters made brief appearances in previous books, but we really get to know them here and I really enjoyed them. No shortage of women who speak their minds and are willing to fight for what they believe in with this author. These two are just perfect for each other.

This was a really great read as I just enjoyed the world more, the characters, and the overall fated mates love story. I know the next two books are a duology and Im ready for whatever else this series brings.

Another winner! I have liked this the best of the “Enchanting” series – perhaps because it involves dragons so directly. Brielle, the Wylfen princess, longs to be free of her father – to learn about magic and dragons. He has other plans … to have her be a magic hunter – to track down those who wield magic, and kill them. Her fate changes as she meets a dragon shifter … who knew such things existed anymore? Can she help him to see this as a blessing? Can she escape her father’s clutches, and finally be free to follow her own passions? We meet again other characters from the series, which is fun. The romance is believable, and doesn’t drag on and on with misunderstandings on both sides. There is a lovemaking scene at the end which was tasteful and not explicit. I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.

I was enchanted by the book's name only. I love Dragons and this story kept me hooked. It’s a fast paced and strategic one. All nicks and points are so well explained. This enemy to lovers and slow burn love between Brielle and Dorin is adorable. I relate with the fascination and excitement of Brielle for Dorin, the Dragon himself.
This is love story between a Wylfen princess and a cursed dragon prince. Born to be enemies, they fall in love while navigating their problems and political agendas.
She has a thing for adventure, and that rides her mind. So when she saw a living Dragon which should not be living in the first place, as they are just legends and extinct creatures, she was mesmerised. Her pull for the dangerous situation leads are to the journey where either she’ll flourish or perish!

A young princess and a very confused prince.
Brielle is our “tomboy” princess. She would rather be wearing trousers and getting her hand in the dirt looking for old artifacts. She is very strong willed and doesn’t get along with her father. Brielle meets a young man when he flies into her courtyard and is naked. She soon discovers that this man is an enchanted dragon. The dragon feels that Brielle belongs to him and he is obligated to protect her. Brielle is severely hurt and the only way to save her is to take her to his home. Dorin is the prince of a nearby realm. Dorin and Brielle learn of each other’s kingdoms and their feelings for one another. When warriors come from Brielle’s home, she must decide who she will stand. This is a fast paced love story. Love Alisha’s books!!

This is the third book in the Kingdoms of Lore series. This time, it focuses on the story of Brielle, a princess whose vicious father is opposed to all magic, and Dorin, the dragon lord she has inadvertantly summoned.

I enjoyed Brielle's character a lot. She's been through a great deal with her monstrous father, and her strength of will and compassion for others throughout her many ordeals was inspiring and enjoyable to read about. I also enjoyed being introduced to another new aspect of the world of Lore.

However, I didn't find myself compelled by the romance in this volume. I think it was because Dorin's conflict around being a dragon lord was not very convincing to me. It stopped me from feeling fully swept up in the story.

I have to DNF this. The writing is very poor.

I am flummoxed, because I really enjoyed Waters of Salt and Sin by the same author. But this book feels cheesy and clunky. The writing is just… amateur feeling. Sort of silly and juvenile, to be honest. Not the subject matter or the plot, but the way it is written and also the main character’s personality- the way she talks and thinks, etc. Her speech and her mindset didn’t fit with the princess/castle era.

The writing style was so jarring that I could only get through four chapters before I had to bail.

I’m disappointed because the premise sounds awesome and I really like the cover.

I was looking for a new ebook to read and this one was free on kindle it mentioned a dragon in the title so I decided to give it a try as i will try pretty much anything with dragons in lol I enjoyed that this book was written in multiple POVs as that way you got more of an insight in to the characters past and motivations I liked the idea of a dragon shifting prince and Dorian character felt well developed I enjoy reading about strong female character so Brielle’s personality was one I liked reading. The battle scenes did feel a bit simple and rushed Like the book was building to them then you blink and it was done but but overall I liked this book I was it was quick simple cosy read

《Thoughts》
3 stars. Fantasy/Romantacy.

First off, I would say that synopsis is not fully accurate.

Secondly, this book wasn't bad, but I would call it cheap entertainment. Cereal for dinner - nothing nutritious, nothing out of this world, but it was fine.

While it can be read as a standalone, I do recommend reading the others first, as it would definitely help with characters and events mentioned.

Characters and plot were pretty flat and 2-dimensional and the few things I kind of liked about them were briefly mentioned and then never seen again. It was all pretty basic.

Will I ever go back and read said other books? Possibly because sometimes cereal for dinner just hits the spot.

It was OK, but all the conflicts were solved almost instantly… I haven’t read the first two books in the series, and I can’t say I liked the couples from those two books that appear here. This IS a standalone, I give it that. And it was entertaining, though the “romance” came a little out of nowhere.
