The hardest decisions are made when a person follows what needs to be done instead of falling for temptation. Kadon assumed detaching from Cyra was the appropriate choice, but the void in his life is speaking a volume that’s almost deafening. Telling himself that it was for the best isn’t enough. The emptiness consuming him feels as if he‘s drowning in a body of water. Usually, when Kadon desires something, he makes it happen, but with Cyra, he doesn’t know if the risk is worth it... Cyra has finally experienced a freedom she has always yearned for, but the bliss hasn’t hit her yet. She wants to be excited about this new chapter but her ending with Kadon makes it difficult. Throw in a mystery man that has her undivided attention, and it leaves Cyra with her hands full. That is until she learns that her new guy is connected to the very person her heart beats for.
I knew it would be ugly when they found out about each other but dang... I wasn't expecting that reaction from any of the parties involved. I can't wait for Part 3 because somebody got some explaining to do.
My mouth is wide open in total disbelief! Waiting is going to torturous!!😩😩😩 It was hard waiting 1 day... ion know how ima wait!! This author has gotten me hooked again!! The twist & turns are absolutely captivating! I feel like my soul is snatched reading this breathtaking sex scenes... wheww! Great job!! You have a fan in me!! 🎉🎊🍾🥂 Plzzzzz don't make me wait too long! 🤣🤣
Great sequel wished I’d known another cliffhanger was coming
Loved how the story continued but I confess I wish I’d known it was just pt 2 of 3? once the reveal happened Cyra’s decisions were unbelievably stupid. Rye’s behavior was also perplexing considering how early it was but his surprise over the fallout was head scratching. I enjoyed Kadon’s growth but one thing that didn’t change: when he turns cold, it’s frigid. I’m ready for this Ennio piece to come to a head - feels like it’s dragging. Also wondering what is the missing piece to the Rich/Carmine/Amoy story right now it’s just hanging out there. Also feel like we’re getting hints that there’s more to Gino’s story as well but I’m not sure if we’re supposed to see a tie to what’s happening now or? The Angela piece is also something I’m ready to see wrapped up because it feels like an annoying fly without purpose.
Ok Charae definitely didn’t disappoint with this follow up to the slow beginning of the first book. It definitely shed light on some of the things I mentioned in my review on part 1 and why it was so dry to me. Even still slow burns doesn’t have to bore you. What that book lacked which was energy, connections, feelings and entertainment...part 2 more than made up for it. This book gave what it suppose to have given and that was a good story between forbidden lovers turned to enemies. Kadon is still the mean condescending person we met in part 1 who thinks he can say and do whatever he wants. He doesn’t see the wrong in his ways and blames everyone for the things he cause. I know Charae won’t let me have my way and off him tho. Rye is the more level headed between him and Kadon and I was rooting for him and Cyra but she doesn’t deserve him at this point. All she did was lie and play with that mans feelings and now she’s put him a a dangerous situation with his family and bestfriend Kadon.
Ennio is out for blood at Kaydon and Cyra. Geno and the rest of the family know about Ennio and he will not be coming back from Italy no time soon but he sent an old family friend Hailee in town to help. When Kadon tries to break free his heart will not allow it. Rye’s birthday is coming and he invited his new boo Cyra to join him. Kadon puts his foot down when he finds out Cyra and Rye were kicking it. Cyra and Rye hang out in Jamaica and now he knows her love and likes. Kadon washes his hands when he finds out about the trip after professing his love to Cyra. Ennio is sending hits and messages , Rye is not happy about his relationship with his cousin and someone is out to get Cyra. Her naivety is going to get her messed up because she is not yet understanding the street life but I got a feeling the wrath of Kadon the Don is getting ready to show us he he really gets down in part 3! Hot, Hot, Hot!!
If you were impressed with part one, this installment will blow yo mind!
Let me tell you.... Charae has a way with connecting emotions. I didn’t know what to expect going into part two, but baybeeee.... my wig is officially snatched! Kadon and Cyra ran up my blood pressure. Just when you think everything is all good... BAM, reality hits! And although Cyra showed significant growth in this installment, it’s quite clear she played with fire when she continued to entertain Rye. Like... baby girl, what is you doing??
Overall... Without giving too much away, I will say, Rye seems suspect. He’s moving shady and acting on emotions. Kadon has a price on his head and things are heating up! With the way the story ended, I’m unsure of how things will fall in place, but I know I’m ready for part 3!
Wow! Rye could've at least helped Cyra but I guess he may blame her as well. Now Kadon had some nerve. He dished the pain first and couldn't handle it once if was dished back. Cyra was way too naive and her loneliness caused her to keep making bad decisions. Esha was cool but her advice to Cyra didn't help her situation at all. Kadon was forbidden from dealing with Cyra but didn't stop so I don't know why he'd expect Rye to do as he said. They have a mess and Hailee deserved just what she got. She was beyond stupid and I'll be glad when Ennio is a thing of the past. I'm so ready for part 3 because whew lawd! I hate to think of Rye as a bitch but I really don't know how to feel about him after that ending unless it was a set up to help Cyra.
This series is getting soooo good and now a war is on the horizon. Just when it seems Cyra is finally free and getting out on her own she finds herself caught up in a love/like triangle. And the individuals involved make it even worse for her. What's a girl to do. I know what she shouldn't have done is taken advice from Esha. After that ending, Ry is looking very suspect to me but I'm just hoping he didn't go to the other side because of his issue with Kadon. I can definitely see him regretting what he has done once Kadon finds out. This storyline draws you in to the point where you get so invested in finding out the backstory of these families, who the major players are and who will come out on top in the end. Cant wait for part 3.
Lordt.. Lawd.. Looorrdt.. This keeps getting good every time.. I'm need her to start writing TV series. Lol.. Seriously good job I couldn't put down and didn't want it to end (as always) you know the Tribe stay greedy for your writing. So not giving anything away from the book BUT if you like family mob drama with betrayal and miss understandings that weave together then this is definitely for you
This book was good and I gave it 4 stars because I needed a little more excitement. The end surprised me and I'm not sure what to think of Rye. I did not agree with him not answering the phone while in Jamaica and I think Cyra was wrong for going. How do you go away for a weekend and not have sex. I understand her background but where is the common sense, she be mouthing off at other times. Book was good and I will anxiously wait for the next one.
First, let me start off by saying "Cyra got on my nerves being so dumb". When she found out Kadon and Rye were related, she should have left that situation alone. She's old enough to know her new friend Esha was giving her bad advice. I'm surprised Kadon didn't kill Rye because he did the ultimate betrayal. I'm mad this book ended with a cliffhanger but I'm so ready to see how this storyline end.
I’m so heated with Cyra and Reh!! Completely understandable that the circumstances in which they met were purely coincidental but to continue to entertain one another even after finding out both of their connections to Kadon, was absolutely wrong on all levels. I have not an ounce of sympathy for either one of them. Anxious to see how this all plays out in Part 3!!
This book has me on edge. So Rye is a traitor?! I never would have saw that coming. I don’t know how Kadon will feel knowing his cousin switched up on him and he didn’t know it or sense it. Unless he is working with Kadon and took Cyra to hide her away with his nonna. I can’t wait till the next book drops and I hope Cuts and Kadon find their way back to each other.
Kadon and Cyra, have left me speechless. Throw in his cousin Rye and the drama , disloyalty and ruthlessness ensues. This book is. Over 300 pages and I finished it in three hours. It is definitely a page turner! Could not put it down!
We Could Never Be 2 is part of a series that ends on a cliffhanger. Author Charae Lewis, I need book 3!!!!
Oh my word!!! That was not the ending I was expecting lol. This series so was soooooo good. I wish I would have waited until part 3 was Ready but she is def an author who I can't wait for 😂😂 so Cyan was most def caught in a tight spot and I kept going back and forth between The men who couldn't decide what was what 🤦🏾♀️ rhy showed his colors so I hope she gets herself together and choosing herself first!!!! List of growth still to go so looking forward to part 3
That damn Cyra, is really starting to get on my nerves with her dumb decision. The moment she realized that she was dealing with cousins she should have left Rhy alone. Listening the Esha got her into a world of mess. What the hell did Rhy do? I hope this is a sick joke, he couldn’t be that scummie (I know that’s not a word). Overall this book is really good and I’m looking forward to part 3
Wow how can Rye do that to his cousin and even Cyra. When Kadon finds out he's going to be heated unless he's helping his cousins but den who knows. Anyways let's rewind. I believe Kadon should have told his cousin the name then maybe they would have never crossed paths. I can't fault them both but I guess I understand where Kadon was coming from but Rye should have left her alone when he was told to and not lie about Jamaica especially both of them.
I read this installment from cover to cover in one sitting. Charae Lewis can always be counted on to entertain, evoke emotions, and provide plot twists that have you invested from start to finish! Kadon, Cyra, and Rye brought out all the feels! Can't wait for the conclusion!
This is just too much! This book had my anxiety at an all time high! I was up into the wee hours reading in the dark like a maniac trying to finish it, only to get this ending?! I am on pins and needles waiting for the next installment... please come through quickly Charae!
This book was so good Kadon is the truth I thought Rye was loyal but looks like getting your feelings hurt can change your loyalty. Cyra and Kadon love each other but the code of the mafia is not letting them be great. What will happen when Kadon finds out the Cyra is missing and Rye didn't stop it...... Hurry up part 3.
I mean WTF to that ending!! Did he really say he can't help her!! Omg!! I'm so o mad at him I really hope those are kadons men or something cause this is just crazy!! I pray things work out and Kadon and Cyra get their happy ending they both deserve it! Oh and esha is HILARIOUS lol can't wait for book 3!!
There was a lot of repetitive parts in this book. Cyra and Kadon going back and forth and that filled a lot the book. Felt like Cyra was growing as person but that was not accurate. For Kadon to be Don, he is very weak. Hopefully book 3 will show growth in Cyra and Kadon.
To be continued...Uggggh I hate waiting. BUT Rye know he is wrong for doing that to Cyra. I already know Ennio about to hold this over Kadon head so now it’ll be in Kadon’s hands to decide if he wants to save Cyra, in which I feel he will do. Now I just impatiently wait for Part 3.
Ooooohhhh Lordt! I’m convinced that Ms. Lewis is trying to give me a mfkn heart attack. I can’t believe everything that’s happening 🥺 I mean I don’t know who worked my nerves the most. I don’t want to give to much away, but lord don’t let anything happen to ol hard headed a** Cyra. I’m not even sure how this is all going to play out but I can’t wait to see.
After reading the reviews my interest was peaked. The first book was a page turner but book2 had me sitting on edge. I can't believe Rye turned out to be a weak bi#$%. And kadon need to let go of that hurt and get my girl Cyra back. The outcome is killing me I need to know whats going to happen in book 3 ASAP.
First off I just love Cyra and Kadon together They need each other Nonna poor they are going to give her a heart attack Hopefully Esha is a true friend Rye man really there are no words for him right now Overall this is a great book hopefully there is a happy ending for them
So young, lost and naive that's all I can think of each time Cyra is mentioned in book two. Kadon and Rhy both are playing a dangerous game with her young naive heart. The lies and betrayal from this broken affair is dangerously coming to an end. Is Rhy a friend or a foe, Cyra keeps ending up on the short end.
This one was soooo gooood! The reason I’m screaming why is because everybody in the book is crazy! And nobody’s thinking straight! I Love it! I’m not gonna give too much away but the main character is a mafia Boss that falls for the forbidden fruit and unfortunately family crosses the line. Start with the first book and cone back to this one. You’ll love it!
Whew...talk about nail biting, plot twisting and straight up mind reeling. This author delivered again in giving a story fraught with emotions, drama, and much suspense. I won't even mention that crazy triangle...whoa!!! On to the finale...is it love or war or....love and war!!!
