(Este tomo incluye los capítulos del manga que van del 115 al 120, ambos inclusive)
!!La de feelings que me ha dejado la lectura de este volumen!! Mira que sabia que el arco del pasado iba a ser trágico, pero no esperaba que me dejase este nudo en el estomago.
La noche azul ha dado comienzo, con Satán moviéndose entre exorcistas de todo el mundo sin encontrar a ninguno que no muera miserablemente en el intento, para buscar un receptáculo adecuado para llegar a Yuri. La cual aún tiene que dar la luz al menor de sus gemelos, Yukio, mientras que el mayor, Rin, ha nacido envuelto en llamas azules y está sembrando el pánico entre los caballeros de la Veracruz que tratan de exorcizarle, y que no pueden ni tan siquiera aplacarle.
Leyendo este tomo, no he dejado de acordarme de los últimos capítulos de la primera temporada del anime. En esta tanda de episodios se siguió el manga hasta cierto punto, representando los últimos capítulos una narrativa diferente a la que luego ha seguido el cómic original. Y en estos capítulos se nos daba a los lectores de una forma diferente lo que pasó en la noche azul. Hasta que leí estos capítulos del manga, con la historia original, estaba bastante satisfecha con esa representación de la noche azul. Pero ahora, tengo que decir que lo que fue en realidad supera con creces lo que se representó la serie. Todo ha sido mucho más cañero y mil veces más dramático. Lo que he prometido desde el principio el arco del pasado.
Que pena me ha dado el pobre Rin viendo la que se ha montado con su nacimiento y cuanta gente ha muerto por ello, además de todos los que han tratado de matar al pobre crio, incluido su futuro padre adoptivo. Ver algo así tiene que ser muy difícil, y la verdad es que el personaje ha estado a la altura. Sobretodo al comprobar hasta qué punto sus padres estaban dispuestos a sacrificarse por él y por Yukio, porque los dos vivieran. De todas formas, ver todo esto creo que va a ser muy importante para el desarrollo del personaje. Por lo menos en las últimas páginas hemos podido ver como su determinación se ha renovado y como esto pinta que va a ser importante de cara al futuro, enfrentamiento con su hermano adoptivo, que tiene pinta que es de lo que va a pasar en el siguiente volumen.
Y por favor ¿podemos tomarnos unos minutos para admirar que básicamente lo primero que ha hecho Rin al nacer ha sido proteger ya a Yukio? Para que luego este se dedique a intentar superarle, decirle cosas muy muy bordes y pegarle disparos en la cabeza cada vez que puede…
Yuri ya sabíamos que no iba a acabar bien, pero aún así ha dado mucha pena ver sus últimos momentos. Sobre todo, porque te queda la impresión de que un poco más y todo, de alguna manera, habría salido bien. Y porque te da rabia que al final vaya a ser ella, quien no puede defenderse ya, la que vaya a cargar por todas las culpas de la noche azul. Que es verdad que básicamente su historia ha sido un “una amiga, date cuenta” de órdago, que como se señalan en un capítulo se ha pasado de optimista y que era materialmente imposible que algo de lo que quería saliera bien estando Satán de por medio. Por cierto, creo que una de las cosas que más he valorado de este arco del pasado, ha sido que hemos podido saber más sobre la retorcida y egocéntrica personalidad del malo malísimo de la historia, y del drama cuasi shakesperiano que le azota al igual que al resto de demonios, que es el deseo desesperado de tener una envoltura carnal con la que sentir y y vivir. Un deseo que está por encima de cualquier consideración y persona, incluso de la propia Yuri con la que se ha obsesionado y que se suponía que quería.
Los últimos momentos de Yuri junto a Shiro han sido muy tristes, que penita que al final no hayan podido estar juntos. Shiro, mira que has sido bobo, como has desperdiciafo tu oportunidad. En serio, dan ganitas de llorar con esas escenas finales y con la forma en que todas estas vivencias explican la evolución del padre Fujimoto hasta volverse el hombre que conocieron los gemelos. Y luego ver como esto marco a Shiro y sus esfuerzos para criar a Rin y a Yukio y ser un buen progenitor para ellos, como poco a poco fue lográndolo con el paso de los años… la última escena que comparten él y Rin no puede ser más agridulce por lo melancólica y bonita que es. Y a todo esto, cuando he cerrado el tomo se me ha ha ocurrido: si Satán concibió a los gemelos poseyendo el cuerpo de Goro, el hermano genético de Shiro ¿ esto le convierte en el tío biológico de sus propios hijos adoptivos? es que da para pensar. Lo mismo que la duda existencial de si hay algún Paladín que no sea un clon de algún demonio…
En definitiva, este tomo cierra el arco del pasado y da uno nuevo que ya ha comenzado en el tomo 24 y que viene cargadito de buenas curvas. Por lo pronto, todo pinta a que de una vez se va a dar el enfrentamiento entre los hermanos. Muchas de las incógnitas más importantes del manga quedan ya cerradas de una vez, y todo en él ha tenido un fuerte componente emotivo que no puede dejar indiferente a nadie y que la autora maneja muy bien. En serio, es que leyendo dan ganas de llorar incluso aunque sepas de que va la cosa. Además, hemos descubierto más sobre la sección 13 y sobre el personaje de Angel, explicándonos muchas de las cosas con las que nos hemos encontrado en capítulos anteriores.

I waited so long to read this book and I loved it. The story goes back and gives us a peek at how everything started. I really loved getting to see my favorite characters again. Once I finally started I couldn't put it down. Loved it.

Desde el inicio, sabíamos que la Noche Azul dejó un montón de cadáveres a su paso, sin embargo, ver exactamente cómo todos perdieron sus vidas es algo muy difícil de digerir.
Yuri y Shiro huyen junto con los gemelos y llegan hasta las montañas cubiertas de nieve. Sin embargo, el cuerpo febril de Yuri no puede resistirlo más y perece entre los brazos de Shiro, quien en realidad sí la quiso desde que se conocieron. Por un momento, él también pierde la esperanza, pese a ello, recuerda que debe cuidar a los hijos de la mujer que amó y vuelve a ponerse de pie.
Sea por la promesa que le hizo a Yuri, por la manipulación de Mephisto o sencillamente por orgullo propio, lo cierto es que Shiro cuidó de Rin y de Yukio todo el tiempo que pudo y se encargó de ellos como su verdadero padre. Ambos necesitaban cariño, amor y comprensión y fue lo que les ofreció, además de enseñarles a cocinar y luchar por sí mismos.
Así que, mientras Rin ve lo que ocurrió en el pasado, se pregunta a sí mismo si fue bueno conocer la respuesta que tanto temía: quizá sería mejor si él no hubiera nacido…
El corazón me dolió de una manera indescriptible durante todo el volumen, pero creo que ha sido mi favorito hasta ahora. Muchas veces no somos conscientes de lo que nuestra existencia significa para otros y aunque no todos los días sean divertidos y asombrosos, lo cierto es que es mejor tener vida para contarlo todo.
Admiro muchísimo la fuerza de Rin y lo mucho que tuvo que soportar inclusive antes de nacer. Shiro no fue perfecto, pero me queda claro que hizo lo posible por cuidarlos a él y a Yukio.
El volumen termina un cliffhanger de muerte y quién sabe cuánto habrá que esperar para el siguiente pero bueno, me resta decir que este es uno de esos mangas que amo muchísimo y cada que recuerdo todo lo que pasaron me dan ganas de hacerme bolita y llorar con ellos.
Este volumen contiene los capítulos 115 – 120.

This is maybe the best volume in the series, with the final chapter (chapter 120) being my favourite chapter of the whole series. The flashback arc comes to an end as we see how Shiro Fujimoto became Paladin and the father of Rin and Yukio. Rin gets to see his 'origin', there are giant monsters and cool displays of artwork. I love the amount of emotion the characters show as everything comes down to tragedy- Shiro Fujimoto finally showing his emotional side instead of being bitter and angry, and Rin being allowed to engage with the narrative somehow and be more than just a passenger as we get full on breakdowns and inner dialogue about how he's reacting to the events. It's through and through a highlight of the entire series and I'm amazed Kazue Kato was able to reign in so much of the wild plots and mysteries to tell something focused on family and love- especially compared to how "Satan" and his family (demons like Lucifer, actual kids like Rin) are shown to be so toxic.
One point of weakness is that there are many pages of unfinished art where they didn't quite have time to ink them. This may be fixed in a collected edition but I read this digitally through the SJ app and they were still there. It's never a huge problem, the figures are still distinct, but it's frustrating to come to one of the most emotionally intense parts of the arc and all of a sudden it's half-finished artwork. Manga deadlines are killer for a reason.

Riveting! I was riveted!!
I am not immune to the tragedy of the flashback chapters and they have been really excellent in Volume 25. Most importantly, I find, they really managed to drive home the point of how much Father Fujimoto loved the twins and how much the twins love each other, even if they did not know it or did not understand it.

The Blue Night has begun…
A rapidly deteriorating Satan has found what he has sought, namely Yuri. But in his mind, he thinks she has betrayed him, so seeks her destruction. Father Fujimoto helps Yuri to deliver her second son as the others keep Satan at bay. At first, he is not responsive, then he takes his first breath, to her relief.
At that moment, who should appear but Sir Pheles himself, who announces he is in charge, following the death of the Paladin. He tells everyone else to withdraw and then proceeds to discuss matters with Fujimoto. Pheles tells the priest that no ordinary sword will kill the son of Satan, as the first child continues to fly out of everyone’s reach, but perhaps the Koma sword could. Too bad he gave it to a young monk a long time ago. Nevertheless, Fujimoto struggles to kill the child, only to have Pheles give both children to their grateful mother. A jealous Satan appears and begins a standoff with Father Fujimoto.
Fujimoto takes Yuri and the babies and escapes. She decides on their names. The first one is Rin, like a Rinka, since he burst into blue flames. The other one is Yukio, because Yukiotoko are strong and warm! Yuri and Shiro make plans for the future, their future with the babies. But alas, Yuri’s health fails her and she dies, to Shiro’s grief. He protects the babies as best he can.
In the aftermath of the Blue Night, everyone begins to pick up the pieces, even as Samael makes a deal with his father to provide a proper vessel for him, as does the traitor Dragulescu. Pheles leaves the kids with Shiro to raise, but he’ll have to change some of his ways. And it won’t be easy. He becomes the next Paladin, and does his best to bring up Yuri’s boys, always mindful of the power inherent in Rin. Up until the moment when Rin’s father reappears to try to claim him…
And so we reach the end of the past. Rin has seen it all and now he understands so much more than he did before, primarily that he is not an abomination or a mistake, that he and his brother were loved and wanted by their parents, but fate would not allow them to be a happy family. He uses the key to return to his brother, who is about to…
This volume of Blue Exorcist is jam-packed with action. So much going on, so much explained. So much tragedy. And yet from all of this we know Rin and Yukio will emerge much stronger for the experience. The love story of Yuri and Satan has come to a tragic end, but that isn’t exactly news. We’ve known that since the beginning. But it’s just heart-breaking to see it play out. I couldn’t help but wish they could have been together. I like Shiro, and I’m sorry his story came to such an end, but he was a good father to the boys, and taught them much. Mephisto Pheles is still somewhat of an enigma, but I have to believe there is more good in him than not, even if he loves a good joke at the worst of times.
There is so much to be done, but I’m sure that Rin and Yukio can succeed, if they only stay together, a united front. Another great volume, looking forward to the next!

This volume of Blue Exorcist is jam-packed with action. So much going on, so much explained. So much tragedy. And yet from all of this we know Rin and Yukio will emerge much stronger for the experience. The love story of Yuri and Satan has come to a tragic end, but that isn’t exactly news. We’ve known that since the beginning. But it’s just heart-breaking to see it play out. I couldn’t help but wish they could have been together. I like Shiro, and I’m sorry his story came to such an end, but he was a good father to the boys, and taught them much. Mephisto Pheles is still somewhat of an enigma, but I have to believe there is more good in him than not, even if he loves a good joke at the worst of times.
There is so much to be done, but I’m sure that Rin and Yukio can succeed, if they only stay together, a united front. Another great volume, looking forward to the next!

4.75* I hate cliffhangers ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
I’m kinda missing some of the fun banter between all the characters rn but other than that I’m really intrigued by the way this arc is going (although the first one might be my fave still… anything but the impure king one that lasted about 282838329293 years) and I can’t wait to see how it continues :))
+ pls give me more of the demon info bonus content sections at the end they’re my faves 😩

And with this volume we finally end Rin's journey into the past. For nearly everyone this will be a big emotional read as Shiro attempts his hardest to save Yuri, but she ultimately dies, most likely because she could not handle giving labor. Shiro had given up on living, but quickly determines that he and our beloved Okumura twins will live until that fateful day when they will eventually die. And so, with help Shiro raises the twins all the while Satan keeps a close watch, waiting for any moment to possess Shiro.
Hot take and unpopular opinion, but not really fan is Shiro, tbh, nor did I ship Shiro with Yuri. So, all of this wasn't really all that emotional for me.
What was emotional was seeing Rin and Yukio; how they were treated as babies when they were born just because they are Satan's sons. And seeing Yuri cry and hold her children. Telling them to be good to one another. And by the end of it, Rin crying as he realizes how stupid he's been. That no matter what, he and Yukio both have each other and he won't give up! Now, this was the real heart clutcher for me because I just love the twins.
All the while, we, ofc, saw the full of events of the Blue Night and its aftermath where Mephisto and the Knights put all the blame on Yuri calling her a witch who summoned Satan to cause all that havoc. Shiro is also painted as the hero who killed Satan's children using the Koma sword and is, thus, named paladin.
Meanwhile, Lucifer propose that he will create a perfect body for Satan to inhabit. And Mephisto will raise both Okumuras to serve as vessels for Satan. Whoever finishes first wins, I guess. Ofc, if they don't finish quickly Satan may act on his own. Rin asks Mephisto if he's using him and Yukio to become vessels for Satan or if he's using them as weapons against Satan like he told Shiro since obviously they all know Lucifer and Satan would eventually return. Mephisto answers that neither. Despite being the king of time he cannot forsee the future now and he cannot completely control Rin. So, what path Rin chooses is his alone to decide.
And with that. Rin is determined to save Yukio as the volume ends with both Okumura twins face to face.
I cannot wait for the next volume to be released next month!! Sure, I can read it online, but I'm going to wait for its official release. I have seen some spoilers, so I know this next volume will absolutley kill me because I just love Rin and Yukio so much!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

La noche azul por fin comienza.
Satán busca a Yuri y al pensar que esta lo había abandonado, la llama azul empieza a exparcise y con ello busca un cuerpo al cual poseer, pero resulta que termina matando a muchas personas. Mientras tanto, Yuri da a luz a Yukio pero este no respira. Rin se da cuenta de esto y va corriendo donde su hermano y al chocarlo es cuando Yukio empieza a respirar y a llorar.
Shiro intenta matar a Rin con la espada demoniaca pero esta es absorbida por el bebé, separando el lado humano del lado demoniaco y así pasando a ser un niño "normal".
Llega una mujer que es parte de los Grigori y le dice a Yuri que tiene que sacrificarse por el bien común, pero Shiro no acepta esto y se lleva a Yuri y sus hijos. Van por una montaña hacia un refugio y en el camino empiezan a fantasear con su futuro los cuatro juntos, pero luego de un rato Yuri colapsa y termina muriendo.
Mephisto convence a Shiro que sea padre de los niños y que los crie como armas y además lo nombra el paladín ya que el anterior murió en la noche azul al ser poseido por Satán. Después se muestra a Shiro criándolos desde que son pequeños hasta el día de su muerte.
Tanto Lucifer como Mephisto le prometen a Satán que le darán un cuerpo el cual poseer. Lucifer tiene todavía fieles que seguirán trabajando en los experimentos de la sección 13, como hemos visto en otros capítulos.
El tomo termina con Rin visitando a Shiro en el pasado y tienen una conversación sobre los él y Yukio. Con esto Rin se da cuenta lo valioso que fue tener a su padre y su hermano, así que al parecer va en busqueda de Yukio.
Por fin sabemos todo lo que pasó ese día, el nacimiento de los hermanos y pronto veremos cómo afecta esto en lo que se viene, sobretodo en la relación de Rin y Yukio.

This arc had been incredibly emotionally rewarding and had both answered questions and opened up new mysteries for the characters to explore. We see the end of Rin's trip into the past, how Mephisto and Shiro sealed away his demon heart, the tragic death of his mother, and Shiro deciding to live and care for the boys as a memorial to the woman he loved. The love between Shiro and Yuri was so heart-breaking. It was interesting to see more of Satan character develop in his assumption of betrayal by Yuri and his obsession with returning to Assiah. My favorite part though was when Rin visited Shiro in the past and was able to see how much his adoptive father loved him and have one last moment to connect with him. I am so glad he has recommitted to Yukio and I really hope the brothers can work out their hurt feelings because they both care so much about each other even if they aren't good at expressing it. I'm really excited to see the next steps for Shiemi, Arthur, Lewin, and others as we get back to the present timeline.

Llegamos al final de todo el arco del pasado y los sucesos de la Noche Azul. Pese a que sabíamos que fue una noche trágica y llena de muerte y sufrimiento, ver en "directo" todo lo que ocurrió ha sido peor de lo que pensaba. La locura de Satán está desatada y su obsesión por Yuri llega a límites insospechados.
La relación de Yuri y Shiro me ha gustado mucho y ver su desenlace ha sido muy triste, sobre todo por Shiro, quién se arrepiente de no haber sido sincero cuando la conoció. Toda la parte de Shiro criando a los gemelos me ha enternecido mucho y en general todo el tomo me ha emocionado y entristecido a partes iguales, especialmente porque Rin ha sido espectador de todo lo que ha ocurrido. Ver a tus padres morir, al resto de personas ser asesinadas y tu nacimiento accidentado en el que todo el mundo quiere matarte no debe ser nada fácil. Encima la parte final de él y Shiro me ha emocionado muchísimo e incluso se me ha saltado una lagrimita.

So....I'm pretty sure that Shiemi's mom, Shiemihara, killed Yuri. She "sped" up her postpartum period and then asked her to sacrifice herself. Yuri had been adamant in her defense of Rinka/Satan and they were keeping her hostage and would have killed her before she gave birth if they could have. Then she was told that her children would be killed as soon as they found out how to....and Shiemihara expected Yuri to just leave her twins in their hands and off herself? Yeah right. So pretty sure, Shiemihara made sure that Yuri bled to death and couldn't get far.
I was really shipping Shiro and Yuri. I'm glad he raised the twins and glad that Rin got to ask him about being a Dad, Rin needed that so bad. He always though Father Fujimoto liked Yukio but not Rin. And why was Yukio never told about his eye if it made an appearance at his birth?!

Ponownie, a zarazem ostatni raz, cofamy się w przeszłość, gdzie Rin może obserwować własne narodziny, co wzbudza w nim spory konflikt wewnętrzny. Widzi też narodziny swojego brata i śmierć matki, co doprowadziło do sytuacji, gdzie za wychowanie chłopców zabrał się świeżo wybrany paladyn, Shiro. Pewna scena sprawiła, że przez moment autentycznie serce mi krwawiło.
Wiadomym jest też, że wreszcie sprowadzi się to do kolejne konfrontacji pomiędzy braćmi, w czasie kiedy każde z ich przyjaciół ma też coś do powiedzenia. Sekret Błękitnej Nocy został wreszcie wyjaśniony i z tą wiedzą Rin może ruszyć ratować brata. Całość nadal wygląda bajecznie i będę powtarzał do znużenia - jedne z najlepszych mang, jakie czytałem. A konkurencja jest naprawdę spora...
Wiadomym jest też, że wreszcie sprowadzi się to do kolejne konfrontacji pomiędzy braćmi, w czasie kiedy każde z ich przyjaciół ma też coś do powiedzenia. Súper duro este volumen, ver al padre Fujimoto hablando del futuro que él y Yuri tendrían cuando era evidente que jamás podría hacerse realidad. Las cosas podrían haber sido muy diferentes si tan solo Fujimoto hubiese tenido el valor para decirle a Yuri que se quedase a su lado, pero es bonito ver que de alguna forma compensó sus errores criando a Rin y a Yukio. Espero que Yukio deje de lado su orgullo y su ansia de poder antes de que le dominen por completo, y que tanto él como Rin tengan un final feliz y que no se repita la historia de sus padres, y por padres me refiero a Yuri y Fujimoto, porque es él que los crio, todo lo demás da igual.

This is probably one of my favorite volumes. Not only was it revealed why Fujimoto got possessed by Satan, but Rin saw it happen too, through Fujimoto's eyes. Yuri's death was also heartbreaking. Rin having to see all that was tragic, but I'm glad he was able to realize that Fujimoto and Yuri did everything they could to keep him and Yukio alive.
Rin is a great protagonist. I cannot stress this enough. He started off great anyway, but his development is amazing. Where's Yukio's development? I'm sorry for everyone who likes Yukio, but I'm still upset with him after what he did to Shiemi and Rin. He needs a redemption arc.
