Seattle Billionaires #4

Billion Dollar Fiancé

Rate this book
Liam Carter was once my best friend and childhood crush.
Now he’s a playboy billionaire in need of a fake fiancée.

The first time I meet Liam again after fifteen years, I ruin his suit with marinara sauce at a fancy party. I’m the caterer, he’s the guest. It’s only mildly humiliating.

But the second time I see him? That’s when he pops the question all girls long to hear. Will you be my fake fiancée?

Apparently, he needs to shed his playboy image, and fast.

Liam’s nothing like the boy I remember. Tall, broad and poured into tailored suits, he now has more money than he can count.

In exchange for my help, he vows to make my cheating ex jealous, showing up to my job with roses in hand and crooked smiles.

It’s a game, just like the ones we played as kids.
Well, maybe not just like those—they never involved heated kisses.

But as make-believe bleeds into reality, I can't stop wondering...
are we too different now to make something last?

Billion Dollar Fiancé is book four in the Seattle Billionaires series but can be read as a complete standalone!

Hi there! I'm Olivia.
I write romance with billionaire heroes (despite never having met one in person). They're strong, ambitious, they don't need love... until they meet the women who change their minds.

I love witty banter, smart heroines, big cities and perfectly tailored suits. You'll find all four in every one of my books! 💜

I've read different versions of this story where a rich guy needs a fake wife in order to woo a potential business partner. Luckily, he falls in love with the fake wife and lives happily ever after. The end.

I really adored this childhood-friends-reconnecting romance. Liam and Maddie were both really likable characters and I absolutely loved the way these two interacted with each other.

Liam is a stock broker who is about to land a new client, however he had to lie and say he was engaged as his playboy lifestyle might have cost him this deal. It was only his luck that by complete coincidence he recently came across his childhood best friend, Maddie.

Maddie is a chef who dreams of one day opening her own restaurant. However until that day comes, she has to work at the same restaurant as her ex. When Liam comes to her with the preposition of being his fake fiance, she sees it as an opportunity to get back at her ex.

I had great time seeing Maddie and Liam reunite and getting to know each other again. They haven't seen each other in years and both of them have grown and changed a lot since the last time they have seen each other. They both had crush on each other growing up, but of course they were both oblivious to the others' feelings. Liam is not quite the boy she remembers. He grew up to be very handsome and very rich. She is not quite sure how she can fit into his life, but they make it work very well. She makes him relax and not be just all about work. They also tease each other mercilessly and I love how at ease they were with each other despite not seeing each other in over a decade. It honestly felt like no time has passed, like they picked up right where they left off.

It was also great to see all the characters from the previous books. It is always nice to see how their lives are progressing and how their own relationships are growing.

The series as a whole is amazing and definitely worth the read. The romance is paced perfectly and each book can be read as a standalone, each having interesting plot and wonderful characters.

"Is this the boy—now a man—who had once been my neighbor? I haven’t spoken to him since he moved out of my hometown at sixteen."

This would be my third read by Olivia Hayle and she never disappoints me. Liam and Madison were childhood friends but when Liam's family moved away, they lost touch. Now years later, a chance encounter brings them right back into each other's life like they never left. Liam & Maddie shared so many sweet past memories and whenever they recalled them, it felt so cute! Maddie was over her cheating ex and wanted to show him that she moved on. Whilst Liam had to correct his playboy reputation in front of his potential investor. So they come up with a mutually beneficial agreement to fake date until their purpose is fulfilled. Problem is, after getting to reconnect, neither Liam nor Maddie are ready to let go. Will feelings complicate their friendship or will it bring them even closer? You have to read this to find out!

"We’re about to embark on another adventure together, but I know, instinctively and deliciously, that it won’t be anything like the ones we undertook as children."

Seriously guys, this was such an enjoyable book, I finished it in mere hours. The side characters from the previous books make an appearance and I just wanted to read more. It was a fun, quick read and now I'm going to dive straight into the epilogue novella!

Book 4 and final of series. Liam and Madeline
I liked the book but somewhere the author lost some of the juice. You know when the guy does something so stupid he knows it himself. But Liam may drive to his hometown for his woman, the author lost the umph needed for proper apology and groveling. Such a shame. The billionaire is Liam, an investor with a great history of landing the right deals. He reconnects with his long ago childhood neighbor Maddie who is a chef in training. Liam has a huge deal to close, the biggest of his lifetime but he is told he is too much of a playboy at which time he let's fly that he is engaged. Oh crap! So the fake engagement begins with these 2 childhood friends with untold crushes. Of course it falls apart when they are found out. This is where the author lost the feel of the story.

you know sometimes you read a book and you don't feel anything, no excitement, no giggling, no anticipation, just nothing... this book was exactly like that.

Cole and Skye are my favorites from this series.

„I don’t know if I’ll be able to get used to it.”
„To what? To dinners?”
„To the way you seem to know what I’m thinking, even when I haven’t said a thing.”

actually really good. almost no drama between madison and liam, so i didn’t want to bang my head against the wall because of the characters stupidity and the author wanting to stir drama were it’s not really necessary. because sometimes you gotta admit… BUT i’m not saying that liam not showing up for mads wasn’t a shitty thing or was justified; on the other hand i could kinda see his point...?

fake relationships are my JAM and i don’t want to talk about what that actually says about me 😝 albert’s character was kinda over the top though.

liam felt likeable. not like some other Hero. i’m looking at you ethan. funny considering liam’s struggle of constantly comparing himself to ethan when in my head he was the better brother, but whatever. AND OF COURSE THE REASON WHY ALBERT FOUND OUT THE TRUTH WAS ETHAN’S FAULT BECAUSE OF-fucking-COURSE. there were cute kids, madison’s character was good. overall a solid one.

This goes down as my favorite installment ever from this series — I love it, it was so enjoyable! I never knew that I'll finally see and enjoy the allure in childhood-friends-turned-lovers until I read this one.

The characters are very charming and witty. Sexy, steamy, smart kind of romance. It also tugged my heartstrings. Gosh, I liked both the male and female leads.

It was so interesting how there was so much depth in the characters even in just a short piece. Beautiful characterization, such a light yet attractive read. This was an incredible story with the best and most flirty and fun banter yet in my contemporary romance library.

Finished in one sitting — so good!

Cute & heart-warming.

The only thing I needded was the longing.

It just wasn't here.

And I like my heroes broken and fucked up. And although Liam was cute af, he was a bit too cocky for me and it just wasn't exactly hitting all the right spots for me.

I wanted a tad more.

But it was still a very nice read.

And I love Olivia Hayle, will sure as hell read the others from the series.

I LOVE childhood best friends to lovers/second chance and this didn't disappoint. Liam and Maddison immediately had a connection again and their transition to lovers was really believable. Still, you could see the conflicts that came from having lost contact so long. There was a conflict at the end that I didn't mind in and of itself but I feel it should've come earlier to give them more time for a resolution. I only read book 3 and 4 in this series and I had a good time with them both :)

Another great book by Olivia and with one of my favorite tropes. Fake engagement. And what a serve it was. Liam was such a mysterious character to get to know but once we know him we fall in love with him. Also Maddie? I loved her so freaking much. This couple had a good beautiful dynamic and also served childhood friends trope!!!

This was a beautiful ending for the series and I can’t wait to start a new one by Olivia. She’s such an amazing writer and I hope more people read her amazing books!!!
