I really enjoyed this thriller/suspense.
This is the second in the Robin Ashurst series, written by author Jack Lench. It has a dramatic opening with a card game yet as we journey to Abruzzo and onto the Tremiti Islands, the reader is led into a disturbing dark world of political intrigue and organized crime. This is a strong plot and does not hold back. It is a well-written, fast-paced adventure about the main character, Robin and his family, who unwittingly gets caught up with British Intelligence in a bid to help capture dangerous criminals. There are twists and turns along the way to keep you completely engrossed.

This book captures the lightness and darkness of Italy written by someone who knows and understands this region. One minute, you are experiencing the joys of simple Abruzzo life and then you are on the edge of your seat as the lives of Robin and his wife, are at risk. The stakes are high. Winner takes all and the prize is clearly survival
