These two very talented authors have written a truly outstanding mafia romance that is an excellent start to what promises to be an absolute fascinating series. I found the storyline highly intriguing with a dark, suspenseful undertone, the plot is well-written & has good world building with splendid scene descriptions. The main characters (Killian) & (Reese) are likeable with unique personalities & have good chemistry between them.
There is: a conniving stepfather (Aldo Baron), a despicable old man (Connor Doherty), a feisty young woman (Reese Deville), a determined man (Killian Doherty), mafia, rivalry, enemies, family issues, adventure, action, drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, deceit, betrayal, secrets, danger, threats, manipulations, murder, complications, captivity, escape attempts, memories, misunderstandings, distrust, emotional turmoil, decisions, conflict, some steam & a satisfying conclusion.

I am in the minority here and unfortunately this book was just not my cup of tea. To me it was a little disjointed and some parts were hard to believe.

I'm very meh....as I started to read it. I only made it as far as I did due to the short chapters and how the book reads fast. I stopped at the 50% mark, thought to pick it up the next day. Yet I tried 3 different times, reading maybe a paragraph each time, then setting the book down. In the end this one wasn't for me.

I feel bad for Reese, she's in a no win situation. Was a bit surprised that Killian helped her, but afterwards he's been an ass. And his whole thing is to shove her in the basement and what...wait to be discovered??? His family is on him like white on rice about the uncle. He might have a shot if the uncle dies, but you know he will wake up and tell on Killian and then there will some sort of big to do. And who knows what will happen to Reese at that point, other than this is a romance book, so we know they will end up together

I somehow(can't remember who maybe pointed me toward this series?) ended up with this box set of 6 books forming the Doherty Mafia series - I probably downloaded it solely because it's brothers and Mafia which is pretty much my favorite combo genre :)

First up oldest brother Killian. Story starts out pretty fast with a light mafia family- clash- scenario. I would say it's very light on the mafia. Thought it was going to be 90% spice but there was actually a ton of feelings and moments between Reese and Killian, (prisoner trope) that really got me hooked!! A short sweet story of what I think is just the beginning of the overall family saga - lets hope, because I want there to be a big time family story coming up and I want to have more of Reese and Killian!!!

This story was a fast paced read full of drama, danger, suspense with plenty of steamy moments thrown in. To join two powerful mafia families together, Reese is given to her step father Aldo Barone to Connor Doherty, who is a old vile man who hurts women and destroys women. Praying for someone to help her, Reese sees a sexy man lurking at her in the room. Will this dark, sexy dangerous man help Reese or will he be her nightmare? Killian and Reese are about to embark on a dangerous journey together when they become involved with lies and betrayals when Killian agrees to help Reese escape his Uncle. Things do not go as planned when this timid shy young woman turns out to be a feisty wildcat as she takes matters into her own hands putting them both at risk. Now he has no choice but to keep her locked up as he doesn't trust her but finds he might just want her for himself as he is put into a dangerous position if his father and brothers find out his part in her escape.

The more time these two spend together Killian does all he can to make sure she knows he is the one calling the shots, but the chemistry between them is becoming harder to ignore. What will happen when the Captor and Prisoner start having feelings for each other as they give into the passion and desire that is fast, edgy and full of explosive steamy moments. Killian and Reese find that they are able to open up about their loss and pain they endured as they both see a different side to each other, which only makes the bond between them stronger. Will they be able to get out of this mess they find themselves in? Can Killian keep her safe if his father finds out how he helped her and what really happened to his Uncle Connor? Will Killian have no choice but to give Reese back to her step father? So much intrigue with all of the twists and turns in this dark romance story, leading up to an ending that is full of danger and suspense along with the introduction of Killian's charismatic brothers. An Exciting New Mafia Series
The collaboration of Krane and Rylan is always a promise of an exciting earthy series. This new The Doherty Mafia Series starts out in Book #1, Killian to present us with the eldest brother out of six total bros.
Killian is a part of his father’s Irish Mafia business and attends another family’s head turning over Reese, his daughter to another man for marriage even though that event was the first time she has laid eyes on him and immediately wants to escape. The man is Killian’s Uncle, 2nd in command for his father, and disgusting. As the trio head to the Uncle’s house events happen that changes everything and forces Killian to take Reese to his cabin in the woods. It’s there they begin to learn about each other and deep feelings. But, in the end will the families demand she be returned to her home only to lose her faith for the future? Or can Killian develop a plan with his brothers that will give the couple their HEA?
I’m wholeheartedly recommending this book #1 of the new series even thought I’ve never been a huge fan of mafia arcs this one immediately drew me in because of the storyline and the changes in the protagonists. The book reads fast and could be read in a day. PEACE.

This is the new The Doherty Mafia Series starting off with Killian - Book #1.    

Killian is a part of his father’s Irish Mafia business.  His uncle - Connor is taking a new wife - a young woman (Reese Deville), who is the step daughter to Aldo  Baron.  Aldo is forcing his step daughter Reese into this marriage to unit the two families and make them a force to be reckoned with.  Reese was never asked of course if she wanted to marry. Supposedly Connor takes a wife for a few months, and they are never seen nor heard from again. 

Killian knows his Uncle Connor is not a good man. Killian knows this young woman, Reese will wind up dead in a few months. Killian is no one in the family business, other than his father's son. 
When Reese and Killian are in the back seat of the car leaving Reese's house, she begs him to help her. Reese knows herself she will be killed, but she will be killed if she stays with her step father Aldo also. She can't run away herself, she has no money, no id, where could she go? She needs help to escape. 

Will Reese & Killian be able to get away from his uncle? Will Killian be able to keep Reese safe? Will Aldo come after them?

This is a dark dangerous mafia romance story.Reese doesn't know what's going on but being summons to her Stepfather Works presence has her heart hammering in her chest.When she walks into the room its filled with men along the table one man in the,corner takes her breathe away.he's absolutely gorgeous.When Lillian sees the young woman come into the room she acts timid and when she sees that her step father arranged her marriage between his sick twisted uncle an this beautiful woman in front of him .He know what his uncle does to woman an feels sorry for her but she agreed to marry him maybe she wants his Monet its a shame she won't live long enough to spend it. She tries to fight the idea of going with his uncle when they get in the car she looks at Jillian an begs him to help her.There are so many twists an turns to this story you will be riveted until the very last page an leave you begging for more. Will Lillian help her?Will she fall for Jillian?Will he share her feelings?I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes an you can feel their emotions an their pain. I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in a new series, The Doherty Mafia. In this book, Reese is a young woman who was given to Connor Doherty by her step father Aldo Barone as part of a business deal. Reese knew she was trapped and begged Killian for help. Killian was there with his uncle Connor, but he was drawn to Reese. When Killian decided to help Reese, it lead to a lot of other problems for him. Killian knew he was in trouble with his family and needed to think of a way to avoid being killed for helping Reese. I really enjoyed this new series. I loved Killian, he was torn about Reese and he wanted to help her and punish her at the same time. Reese wasn't sure if she could trust Killian or not. This book was fast paced and had a lot of action with a lot of heat between Killian and Reese. A great start to a new series.

“Killian” is an incredible collaboration by Kasey and Savannah. Together they are a dynamic writing team. I loved the unique story-line and the fascinating characters. Killian is the oldest brother and son of an Irish Mafia king pin. Reese is the step-daughter of Aldo an evil man who is the head of another Irish Mafia clan. Reese’s step-father Aldo gives her to Killian’s uncle Connor to unite the families. Reese has no say in the matter and is being treated like property. Killian knows that Reese will be in danger if she marries the violent, aging Connor so he helps her escape. What happens after makes for an exciting tale. “Killian” is the beginning of a new Mafia series and well worth reading.

This is a dark mafia romance that I liken to a puzzle. As you read, each little piece snaps perfectly into place. This is an incredibly well written book that will keep you entranced until the very end. It truly is addictive. I will not write more than what is in the description of this book. This is one read that you have to experience. I am a huge fan of Savannah Rylan. I read every book she writes or co-authors. I have yet to be disappointed or give the book less than the maximum stars allowed. Simply put...one helluva book. Remember if you want to read a book you can't put down, you have to pick it up first.

This book was such an amazing read this is one of the authors in this author duo is new to me but i absolutely loved the storyline and the main characters. Killian and Reese were not suppose to be with one another Reese was promised & given to Killian's uncle in an effort to join two Mafia families.

But from the moment he laid eyes on her she was his so he took what he wanted. The Doherty Mafia family is so ruthless and Killian has a dark side to him that draws you to him.

This book was full of twists and turns, love, hate and revenge and much more, this author duo did an amazing job with this first book of the Doherty Mafia Series can't wait for the next book.

The start to a new mafia series by these two wonderful authors.
Reese is a strong woman who has been put through he'll by those who were supposed to love her. She is now a pawn in her stepfather need to form an alliance.
Killian is the son of the mafia boss who accompanied his uncle to Aldo's house were Reese was gifted to his uncle.
The attraction between Reese and Killian is immediate. But can he really help her and go against his family?
Story flows well. We get to meet the Doherty brother, by name only and are given background to how his family got involved in the mafia.
Reese also gives us her background.
Both are tough but have softer sides.

Reese Deville doesn’t have a clue how she’ll survive another second in her sheltered, abusive life under her cruel mafia boss step-father’s thumb. Then she finds she doesn’t have to… she’s being given to one of the local maria’s most notoriously cruel killers to seal a deal! Not with a ceremony but with a handshake!

Killian Doherty prided himself in being the king of one night stands. He’s surprised at himself by his reaction to Reese. That slip of a woman got to him quicker than any other one ever had. He could envision at least two nights with her. But not the vision of her with another man, especially his cruel uncle.

Readers are introduced to the first book in the Doherty Mafia series with Killian and Reese's story. Reese is a pawn and handed over in a business deal by her stepfather to Connor Doherty, a man not of her choosing and one that is evil. Conner's nephew Killian steps in to help, even knowing there are going to be issues with the family. A dark mafia romance, an emotional story, it is filled with action and drama as Killian and Reese find their happiness in the cabin in the woods. **I was gifted "Killian" via the authors and leave my review based on my reading.** 4.25 Stars!

This book starts off with drama and excitement. Reese Deville and Killian Doherty finds themselves in a major mess right away. And this story pulled me right along with them.  Just when things seem to settle something else happens and I got pulled in again. After being promised in marriage to one man Reese is taken by another and that's where the fun begins. She's a feisty little thing and seems to be right up Killian's alley but, chaos erupts all around them at every turn. This book is an exciting and unexpected read.

Reese is summoned to her step father Aldo’s office where she is met by a room of men she doesn’t know. Her step father has given her away to a fellow mafia man to align families. Reese is panicked but has had a hard lesson in what happens when she doesn’t do what Aldo wants. In the car to her new home, she begs the body guard, Killian, for help. Thus, Killian and Reese’s story begins. This is a great read of hard life they have both had to go through while trying to find their own happiness. Can’t wait for more with Killian’s brothers!

Fantastic dark Mafia story with a strong cast of characters centering on Killian and Reese. The authors pulled me in with all the drama and danger , suspense and surprises as well as the sizzling heat. I was glued to the pages with all of the twists and turns as they deliver a brilliant read. The story flows fluidly with their vividly painted scenes. I loved this book and am looking forward to more of the brother's. Highly recommend reading!

This nonstop action paced thriller will keep you glued to the pages and cheering on Killian and Reese to get their chance for a happily ever after. Great start to a series!

Killian is faced with going against his family when his actions lead him to lie to them to protect the one woman he should have no interest in. Tensions are fraught but he cannot get her off his mind. So the question is what will he do with her?

This is a dark romance and a great introduction to this Irish mafia family. Bring on book two.

Reese knew she should have left when she had the chance and now it's too late. Her stepfather has decided she should be used for his business dealings and now Reese has no way out. Her only hope is the stranger in the corner but can he be trusted? This was a good read with plenty of surprises. Loved the characters and all the drama!

This was a good read and a solid start to this new series. The story is well written and grabs and keeps you engaged. There is plenty of tension, action, drama, intensity and emotion as the storyline and the couple's relationship progresses. Killian and Reese were likable and easy to invest in. Altogether, an exciting and enjoyable read. This is my independent, impartial review.

I enjoyed this book. The story was good. The characters were well defined within the story. Reese and Killian are meant to be together, but in being together,Killian inadvertently brings trouble to his doorstep. Together they are and he will fight for her. The ending was a HEA but also a cliffhanger. I love Savannah Dylan and am eagerly awaiting the next book.
