This story was just pure angst and pain, with me suffering and wondering why the author chose to take it in certain directions, so I kind of love it and hate it at the same time. Honestly, I don’t know if it deserves three and a half stars from me, but I devoured it in two days, so whatever, I’ll let it have that rating.
I already new that this is going to be a weird and messed up ride but I spoiled myself and now that i know how the story goes on and what happens I don’t wanna waist my precious time with this ….
I've read up till chapter 29 and atm the team that was translating on NU has dropped- so we'll see if another group picks it up.
I hope they do because that was a cliffhanger ending and I want to read the revenge -But I also hope Rein actually does something eventually because so far her past life knowledge is like zero help and Will is doing all the work.
Also, I'll be honest in that I'm still a little bleh about the age difference. The ML is at least an adult at 19 now and she's 27...but she was raising him as a little brother and thinking of him as her kid at points...even if they were not giving platonic vibes some of time...eh.
Not only that but what is up with the whole 'I am raising my spouse' storyline that seems to be going on with a lot of these Asian novels? If I had a nickel for every time....well I'd have at least a dollar it's been that often.
The manhwa seemed pretty decent with FL being a badass but the one thing that I wish they didn’t here, they made ML become a kid with the FL still being in her 20’s. Look fair enough with the age gap but this just that sorta threw me off since ML became a child. Regardless again, this story seems pretty decent!
Our main lady was adopted by a kind knight, made his heir, and engaged to the crown prince. However, Michael treated Reindhart coldly because he was in love with a hostage sent to the empire. Worse his reckless behaviors get her father killed and Michael demands a divorce at the funeral. She is stripped of her titles and exiled from the capital where her bitterness grows until it consumes her. After her death she regresses to the funeral and stabs Michael in the leg with her father’s sword. This expedites their marriage annulment, and Rein is banished to small frozen fiefdom. Along the way a mercenary turns against the abandoned noble but a feral child living in the woods saves her. She realizes this was the great soldier Michael utilized in a few years and she takes Wilhelm with her to hide him away. She spends a while recovering, assuming her duties as a minor lord, and raising Wilhelm as a brother-child. Then her childhood companion Dietrich tracks her down and reminds her that she needs to harden her heart and take revenge. Meanwhile, Rein is not the only one with memories of the prior timeline and plans for the future. * * * * *-------------* * * * *-------------* * * * * This one falls into the strange category of well done, but not necessarily enjoyable. The typical revenge-rebirther storyline is complicated with twisty reveals that add more context to characters, the past, or current events reframing plot points and perceptions. Strange coincidences, dragon death spells, sadism, and child abandonment pop up and get enfolded into our tale. The sparse descriptors and dialogue can make it difficult to sort out these rather complicated motivations. Readers quickly realize that our characters are flawed people. Our heroine really had no tangible plan to get what she wants and has strange mood swings. Our male lead often lies, manipulates others, is violently possessive etc. While this is response to trauma, it is not always easy to sympathize with given the extreme behaviors and toxic patterns. Readers also realize that this has little to do with the actual revenge. Rein is absent for the desire of her two lifetimes and the deaths of betrayers are too quick. This is more the story of our ill-fated couple (which has an eight-year time age gap).

This manhwa is a battlefield between love and hate — and I’m stuck right in the middle, though I’ll admit, I’m leaning toward love.
First off, let’s talk about the age gap. What do you mean it’s literally a kid and an adult? Sure, he’s not a kid anymore after a few chapters, but still… I can’t unsee it. And the fact that Reinhardt is the one that taking care of him? Yeah, that part makes me grind my teeth.
Now, I won’t lie — the plot itself is a chaotic mess, but in the most beautifully twisted way. It’s drenched in misery, revenge, and pain. It’s insane. It’s psycho. It made me think the author might be a little unhinged — but there I was, reading it to the very end like the masochist I am.
“Hey Siri. Play ‘Psycho’ by Red Velvet and ‘Animals’ by Maroon 5.”
By far, this is ultimately the most craziest (see how i’m trying to describe their craziness) couple I’ve ever read. Both are toxic & twisted, yet they are perfect for one another. I agree with other ppl who said the author tried to glorify the ml and tried to shift the wrongdoings onto the fl but at the same time i do agree that the fl indeed is the reason for all these shits happening but then again the ml is not without flaws. Now i feel like i’m also getting twisted like them sigh.
I dont recommend this to young readers bcs guys, it’s too 🏴🏴🏴. Tragedy should be the first genre/tag before the rest haha

Idk what the hell the second half was - a feverdream that’s for sure. I enjoyed the morally grey characters, it surprised me and made realise that it’s been a while since I read a Korean novel about troubled, flawed people. Still, I need to rate down from 4 stars because what in the name of God was the plot from chapter 68 till 90???
Honestly, reading this is like a love-hate relationship. It's engaging to read, then there's a red flag for me that I'd drop it. Then I comeback reading it after a week or so to start the cycle again. ahahaha
