Brooding Man: Rancher Jake Tallman, who had better things to do than teach Ms. Morganna Larrimore the difference between a twig and a rattlesnake. Greenhorn Woman: CEO Morganna Larrimore, who couldn't think of ANYTHING better to do than ruin Jake's day! First Fight: Within five minutes of meeting each other.
Corporate dragon lady Morganna Larrimore was used to silk sheets and secretaries, so her attempt at "bonding with nature" on Big Thorn Mountain was just plain dangerous. But since Jake Tallman knew the only way to get her to safety was to challenge her to something tougher, he told her she wouldn't last one hour working on his ranch. And that was how the rescue of Morganna Larrimore slowly turned into the seduction of Jake Tallman....
Jake Tallman received a call from Nathaniel Larrimore asking him to go find his daughter and rescue her from the mountains near him in Colorado. He warned Jake that she was stubborn and in order to get her to follow him off the mountain, he would have to challenge her. Jake found her and pretended that he was just a hiker who had come there on his own. He was running out of food and had a bad ankle. His ranch was nearby and he needed help. Morganna met his challenge and agreed to help him off the mountain to get back home. She would stay and help out on his ranch until spring when he could get more help. He told Morganna that the weather was bad and there weren't many people looking for jobs at the moment. Jake had a small place and couldn't afford to pay someone to help anyway. Morganna began helping around the ranch and it was hard on Jake. He hadn't been attracted to anyone since his wife and son had died in a car accident 10 years before meeting Morganna. She was enthusiastic but she was destroying more than she was helping too. She had grown up with servants and cooks. She didn't know how to do anything. She burnt the food, she tried nailing shingles on the roof and left nails all over and split the shingles. Then she fell off the house and nearly pulled the gutters off. Nathaniel came to see Jake late on night and she followed Jake and caught them talking. Nathaniel had asked Jake to keep her busy for a month or so while he tracked down someone who had made threats against Morganna. Nathaniel came to give Jake a report that he asked for. Jake had met Nathaniel when he found the wreck and pulled out Jake's pregnant wife and son. They had stayed in touch ever since. Nathaniel came to see Jake and to go camping in the area near where Jake lived at least once a year. Jake had grown up in the foster system until his American Indian family had found out about him and brought him home with them. Jake owed them a lot and had given some of his talents back to his family and others. He had carved animals and recorded songs he played on the flute and donated them to homes for the blind. He did some beadwork but mostly for the children on small moccasins as gifts. Morganna was told that Jake was creative but most of it had been beat out of him by his foster parents and their families. Morganna found out that Jake and Nathaniel and been scheming to keep her with Jake and they had slept together. Morganna was known as a dragon lady and had given her life to the corporate world. She knew nothing of passion and relationships with men. She hadn't even known that she was still a virgin. She thought that she'd had sex with a guy in his car when she was younger. She hadn't liked it and hadn't tried to get involved with a man since. The only man in her life was her brother, Paul, and he was nothing like her. Paul didn't fit in with the corporate world that his father was trying to force him into. Morganna decided that she needed to seduce Jake to level the playing field. She didn't want him thinking that he needed to take care of her. She took lessons on how to drive a truck and set about completing a project that he had first thought of. She built and carried out plans for a vocational school where he lived. She set up the funding and publicity for it to be self sufficient. Jake was amused when he found out that she intended to seduce him. He had already fallen for her and insisted that she stay with him while she was working on her project. Her camper was rammed by a truck one night and that confirmed to him that she wasn't safe on her own. She later found out that her father had set everything up. There was no one after her. She left a note for Jake and went back to Kansas City and to her job there running her father's business. She left a note for Jake telling him that she was leaving after what her father had done. Jake had given Morganna a pair of moccasins before she left him. The note also told him that she knew there was a part of him that he was holding back still after losing his wife and son. She wanted him to become whole and give in to the creative side that was a part of him. Jake hesitantly at first, painted a picture of Morganna and sent it to her. He sent her another picture of herself holding one of his relative's baby. He sent her some of his carvings and flute recordings. He was seducing her and sending her what his family would call bridal price. It was several months later that Jake went to Kansas City to see Morganna. He told her that he was sending her items known as the bridal price. She was surprised when he asked her to marry him but she said yes. Morganna and Jake marred and she moved to Colorado and ran her business from there. Two years later they'd had a daughter, Lomasi "pretty flower". The vocational school was a success and her brother, Paul, was making plans to become a teacher there. Jake had recently realized that Morganna was pregnant with their second child.
A just jo. Girl power, sestry.
A zpátky ještě hrdinčinu výstroj, spoustu jejích šatů (včetně přiléhavých šatů a střevíců).
Kdo má co dělat a v jakém postupu?

A lot of fun. Morganna is very dedicated to her job (even a bit too much), but thanks to her petite size, the fact that she's female, and lacks all social skills whatsoever, nobody takes her completely serious. Or rather, either they are afraid of her and intimidated, or they think she's weird and not really a female.
On a team-building session gone wrong she ends up being abandoned by the team she was building and is saved by Jake, an old friend of her father. Only she would never submit to being saved if she realized she was being saved, so her father asks Jake to manipulate her into it. (First example of nobody really taking her serious).
They end up together for a while, with lots of attraction and challenges and tension, but then of course the fathers input comes out and it changes into a commentary on gender roles and females in top positions in the business world. And while that it still stays silly and light and fun.
I really liked Morganna, her mind worked weird, but she just went for it so hard. I have a bit of a thing for steamroller heroines.
