I recieved an ARC of this book. To be honest this one took me a little longer to get into. I really had a hard time connecting with the characters at first. They grew on me after a while though and by the end I absolutely loved it. Maybe I would have been able to connect with the characters better if I read the series from the beginning. Either way I ended up really enjoying it and grew to love the characters. The story was interesting with lots of little dramas and mysteries going on.
So much excitement in the 5th installment of this series. The murder of a Hollywood actress starts the mysteries in this one. It appears the cook’s husband may have disappeared. Their contact in their spy network isn’t calling. Will Charlotte have to leave Gossip?
I enjoy the characters and the way they are brought to life by the narrator of the audiobook.
In this second to last installment in this Mission Inn-possible series, Charlotte realizes the end is near when agent "Grandpa" does not make their regular check-in. Growing attached to her own agent Gamma and her life in Gossip, the thought of leaving it has her standing her ground to her friends and look danger right in the eye. Either way the end is near but hopefully this time she will have the best backup she can ask for.

I have read only one book in this series before but liked it.. This one was no exception. It was a fun fast read. I just found out this is almost the end of the series which sucks because I'd like to see a few more on this series. I'm going to read the first in the series next lol.

What a fun series. With Charlie and Brian still at the Inn, an old Hollywood superstar visits the Inn to celebrate her birthday. This superstar is a friend of Gamma’s. Things go terribly wrong and the superstar is murdered. Along with that murder, another one occurs, mushrooms go missing, and Lauren’s husband in missing. Charlie and Brain have not heard from their contact and must follow a contingency plan to leave the Inn and everything else behind. Charlie has grown so fond of the kitties, the Inn and her love for Gamma that puts her in turmoil of what to do. Will she leave with Brian? Will Gamma identify the killer? Join Charlie and Gamma as they work to solve the murder. There are plenty of twists and turns as they check out the suspects, who all seem to have a motive and figure out the killer. As there is one more book left in the series, it will be sad to see it end. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Charlotte (Charlie Mission) Smith is a spy hiding from her dangerous ex-husband, Kyle, a rogue spy double agent, at the Gossip Inn B&B owned by her Gamma Georgina, who is a retired spy. The agent who was her liaison with the National Security Investigative Bureau, Brian Smulder, is also still there with her. When one of her grandmother’s old friends, a Hollywood superstar, arrives to celebrate her birthday, the woman is murdered. Brian and Charlotte seem to have lost communication with her one contact in the agency which means they should activate a contingency plan and leave. But soon Charlie and her grandmother start their own investigation to solve the murder before the victims keep mounting up!
This is a wonderful cozy mystery with tons of action laced with humor. The story line is well-paced, the characters are delightful and make the book fun to read. Grab your copy and see how our super-spies handle another murderer!
Charlie has settled into her life in Gossip Texas.
Regardless of anything else, she would like to stay and work with Gamma rather than return to her life as a spy. The killing edge is no longer as sharp for her, and unlike her legendary Gamma, Charlie was likely never quite as gifted as her renowned grandmother
In the interim, a long awaited visit from a dear friend of Gamma turns lethal- and has repercussions for the business of the Inn
Lauren the chef faces an extended absence of her husband. Is denial her best ally? Is Charlie? Certainly her sister Josie is no asset. Josie is a seriously negative Nellie!
Is Charlie reaching an end of her time in Gossip? The end of her career? The end of her efforts to stay covert while the search is on for her ex Kyle?
Another wild and wacky Mission Inn-possible adventure!
I can hardly wait for the next book with its resolutions to Charlie’s challenges!
And the plot thickens with Kyle, Charlie's ex and killer rogue spy getting closer to her, and the threat of going underground with Smulder seemed more real than ever. Meanwhile, a nice diversion (compared to Kyle, she probably thinks this is nice lol) of a murder or two at the inn. The suspects were getting narrowed down, but I still wasn't quite sure until clues started coming together. Then the side mystery this time centered around Lauren's prized mushrooms getting stolen-from the locked basement room that only she and Gamma have keys to.
Oh my gosh, what Gamma and Charlie did to flush out the killer was too epic! I absolutely love when they stealth-sleuth together, but this was extra awesome! I know there's another book coming up, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to wrap up the whole series or what. I'd sure love to have more than just one book even if Kyle gets caught next time.
the series has been enjoyable and as i mentioned in my review of the previous book, i feel more connected to the characters the series which is important when it comes to continuing with a series. it’s because of this aspect i was fully invested in this installment and the plot overall. Charlie is coming to feel more at home in Gossip, developing relationships with the other characters and especially close to her beloved grandmother and former spy extraordinaire, Georgina. she’s even settling into a romantic relationship that os making her consider a future she never considered before…
the mystery in this one was good as Charlie and Georgina must race against the clock to solve a murder. but i am interested to find out what is going on with “grandpa” and the “family” who should be keeping Charlie updated on her ex, a rogue spy, and the reason that she’s been hiding out in the town of Gossip for…drama🎭🐈😍👀📚
This rating would have been higher if she would stop going on about how great her grandmother was as a spy. This is the second book in which someone has secretly been living on the grounds and grandma didn't have any knowledge of it. With all the high tech stuff and weapons you would think there would have been better security.
As for the story it was okay. Talk of ghosts again and two murder at the Inn. Maybe this place should just close and become a haunted house for Halloween. Now Charlie keeps referring to Brian as her boyfriend and all is great with them. And please can we get the ex-husband, traitor spy story done with. Really if he wanted to find her so badly he would have long ago. Thankfully, only one more book to go.
I’d definitely put this series in the category of cozy mystery. If you are someone who enjoyed watching Murder She Wrote on TV back in the day, then this would be right up your alley. I can tell it’s going to be one of those series where murders happen at an uncanny frequency in this very small town, and the two main characters (Grandma and Granddaughter) solve the crime each time.
There was nothing mind-blowing about the mystery, but it was entertaining enough. It’s an easy read that can be finished in an afternoon.
Charlie has her hands full with everything that is going on in her life. The last thing she needs to deal with is a murder but that's exactly what she has. An old friend of her Grandmother's who has come to the inn for her birthday. Between her and her Gamma, they need to get this one solved before more people die or the killer gets away

Of the stories that I've read so far in this series, this was probably the best in terms of a mystery.
Honestly, I can't think of how anyone in town could call it anything other than a murder hotel. In the course of less than a year, there have been a half dozenish murders in the place? I thought it was suspicious that there were so many murders in Cabot Cove and that was an entire town.
Jason is an ass, Lauren should have gone for Grayson from the start.
We are taken back to the Gossip Inn to spend time with Georgina, Charlotte and the rest of our friends. The story keeps you turning the pages while you try to figure out who the murderer is and whether Brian can keep Charlotte safe.

A birthday celebration at the inn is obstructed by murder. Charlie and Gamma must find a killer before the suspects leave town. I love this fun series and especially enjoy the super spy techniques used to solve this cozy mystery.

I like these books because I had almost quit reading due to most books I started reading had profanity before you got into first chapter. I would quit reading. These books are refreshing as she doesn't have to use profanity to make it enjoyable to read. Thank you, Rosie, for making reading fun again.
I loved the first 4 books in this series, but the more I read, the more they are not keeping up with my reading likes. They become more ridiculous as they go on. And that is saying a lot of cozy mysteries. It took me 4 months to read this one. I don't think I will continue the series after this book.
These books are okay. They're fun cozy mysteries that don't require brain power but the writing is a little clunky and the main character, for being a secret agent, is outstandingly stupid. Now, listening to the audiobook, the narrator continually incorrectly pronounces the work "Library" and it drove me mad! It's not "lie-berry" GAH!
This was such a fun story. I haven't read the first four books in this series, but I didn't think it was necessary. It was a fun read with great characters and a fun story. I can't wait to read the first four books.
Great action packed cozy mystery. There is a lot going on during this story. Charlie & Gamma have their hands full with a few mysteries to solve. I am looking forward to the next book to see how the author wraps up the series.
I love a good cozy mystery that has some grit and humor and this is it! Charlie and Gamma have their work cut out for them when two murders occur at the inn and Charlie is done hiding. It’s all going to come to a head next book and I can’t wait!
I'm invested in the characters, not in love with this particular story. There some disconnected or unnecessary parts and a giant cliff hanger at the end.
I'd really like the author to take a little more time, make it a longer book, and flesh out some things if they're going to be included.
Another wonderful story of Gamma and Charlotte solving another murder while Charlotte kept herself undercover. Only, she has been exposed and the higher ups are coming to visit her. I can’t wait to start the last book in the series.
Why do I keep reading these? They're so far fetched and I doubt the author has any experience with the CIA except for what they Googled. But, they're nice relaxers at the end of the day when I need to not use brain energy. And, I like the kitties.
Listened to as part of the Mission Inn-possible boxset, a nice easy listen that will make you chuckle and want to get investigating. This is a great story in a fun series, this has some good twists and it has some filler but so does a good strawberry cupcake, and they are just as good.
