When it comes to love; sometimes timing is everything. Monica + Ty were doing fine with their semi-exclusive, label-less relationship until one of the pair decided those parameters no longer suited their fancy. In “One Mo’ Gin”, we meet them at the point of trying to discover what that means for them going forward and how they can learn from the mistakes of the past to not commit the same faux pas in the future. Tina’s been on the hunt for her Mr. Right, but keeps coming up on dead ends with duds. Through it all, Jacques has been there to comfort her in more ways than one. Fed up with being relegated to a sideline role, what will happen when the sidekick vies to become the leading man? A one night stand with a very unique twist comes back to haunt Raquel just as she’s on the mend from a tumultuous breakup. Compounded by her grandmother’s sudden nuptials and recent swearing off of men, one night of passion spent with Eriq comes back to revisit Raquel in present day. Second chances allow a period of grace, a reckoning with decisions, a clearing of misconceptions—a chance to finally get it right. In this collection of short stories, each couple is gift a rare opportunity to run it back and make a lasting impression. AUTHOR'S Before reading Run It Back, it is not necessary, but very helpful to have read the following works by Nicole "Pucker Up" which appears in Sparks Fly Switched at Bid Then Came You "32 Bandanas" - a short featured on nicolefalls.com Someone Seeking Someone Else
Nicole Falls is a contemporary Black romance writer who has taken entirely too long to complete her first project. She's also a ceramic mug and lapel pin enthusiast who cannot function without her AirPods constantly blaring music. When Nicole isn't writing, she spends her time trolling her friends and family while drinking coffee and/or cocktails or checking off yet another of these great United States visited in her quest to see some land! She currently resides in the suburbs of Chicago.
This collection was so cool not to mention my all time favorite trope!
All of the couples were cute, funny and coming in HOT! I'm glad the author chose to 'run it back because not only did these couples find love, they were super funny secondary characters in her previous books. Hearing from the characters from previous books was a highlight and was giving me so much life!
Between wheezing from laughing to swooning with gasps of love, Gran and Ebby took my breath away! I would absolutely love to see them make an appearance in the future.
I just love a good second chance romance and these stories did not disappoint. Mo and Ty, Tina and Jacques, Raquel and Eriq 3 couples all getting a second chance to correct wrongs, missed communications misunderstandings and missed opportunities. All 3 couples are thrown together helping out for weddings of family members and in the process work towards their own HEA. I so fell in live with Raquel and Eriqs grandparents. I highly recommend this book. 👍⭐
A collection of shorts that will have you laughing and saying a bunch of aww's . Four short stories of 2nd chance opportunities. Will these couple take a chance at love or will they let the moment past them by. Real quality writing and catch phrases that only Nicole Falls can give. My personal favorite is the first story but they all really good stories. Bravo Nicole Falls Bravo 👏.
This was SO much fun. I adore second chance love and Falls did her thing here. Her dialogue and storytelling flow feel natural and relatable, giving the reader the experience of having a chat with friends or watching the banter of lovers up close.
Short and hot, you are guaranteed to have a novella couple to swoon over here.
This was good. A nice way to follow-up on secondary characters from other stories. I made sure to read all of the other related stories first for context. I also liked how timelines and other details were pretty tight. I'm anal about that stuff and have noticed discrepancies in other stories, but these all seemed to be straight.
I liked the first story. It ended too quickly. I would’ve appreciated more content. The second story wasted too much time on idle irrelevant convo with side characters. I don’t care for stories with one too many coincidences so I’m on the fence about the third story. It was cute but it was too far fetched.
This was a quick, easy read. The couples were young and fun. It was nice to encounter characters from other Nicole Falls’ books. I especially liked Eriq and Raquel’s story.
I enjoyed all of the stories. It was great to catch up on previous characters and in this book it was all about the best friends and relatives winning in love.
Where’s my baby...? You know I’m a sucker for an update. I’m really loving Ricky and Rocky’s joint. The scarves have me wondering, but that’s a story for another day. But the Grans! I love their spunk! Gives me hope that I can find love at any age.
I enjoyed Sparks Fly but felt it was over way too soon I liked that these stories revisited some of those stories. I don't know who's I liked best. Each story was very captivating and although fictitious they were very relatable.
You know what…maybe spinning the block isn’t such a bad idea after all. I mean it’s a horrible idea for ME, but definitely not with Ms. Falls is holding the pen.
I enjoyed this collection. While short, they were all satisfying and let me me searching Kindle for more. Can’t go wrong if looking for a good, quick read 👍🏽
Good updates and introduction to some of these couples for me. All of the stories had spice and laughter. I'm hoping that this won't be the last of these characters and they'll pop up in either their own full length novels or updates.
