Could one drunken night years ago finally end in a happily ever after?
Makayla I knew I had to come home. When I heard my father was retiring and ending the town newspaper – the newspaper that I had always dreamt of running – I packed up my life in the city and returned to Charmed.
And then, I saw him. The one person I desperately didn’t want to see.
I still thought about our nights together. But that didn’t mean that I wanted him back. In fact, I wanted to be far, far away from him.
And then, I learned that the one crazy drunken night I had ever let myself have resulted in a marriage that I never knew about.
A marriage to Nicholas.
Nicholas I had given up on Kay. After fleeing town, she made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with me – but that didn’t stop me from always thinking about her.
And out of nowhere, she’s back in my life, whether she likes it or not. She acts like she forgot about me, but I know better.
And when she finds out that we’re married, I’m ready to do what it takes to make her realize that I’m all she’s ever wanted.
Author Note This heart-melting series contains romance stories about a tight-knit group of protective military veteran alphas in a small-town Western setting with independent heroines, high-adrenaline suspense, a dash of humor, no cheating and a guaranteed happily ever after! There is a healthy dose of smokin' hot steamy scenes, no cliffhangers and each can be read standalone but is ideally read along with the rest of the series as you will love the characters and want to find out what happens to them!

Jean came late to writing...only after a couple of failed career paths and finishing a messy divorce did she manage to dedicate herself long enough to string together her first novel...that initial writing was mediocre but the experience fantastic and an addiction was born!
Ever since then it's been Jean's outlet for frustrations, dreams, and desires. Romance is her niche and she loves to write them boldly, with alpha-males, independent women, and always looking for the perfect happily ever after!
Jean is an American exiled in London with eccentric dogs and lazy cats. When she's not in her cave writing or dreaming up the next book, she's watching trashy TV, drinking good coffee/wine with friends, and catching up on her backlog of romance reading!
Even though this is a short story I couldn't make it past chapter 6 page 34. It's only 94 pages long but I couldn't take another paragraph.
The story is boring. The MC's are boring. The fmc and her girlfriend are childish. There are editing errors through our. One sentence literally said 'I smile look into his eyes '. It's repetitive. Both mc's have the same thoughts over and over again. For a story that's less than 100 pages at page 34 Nothing Has Happened. And I mean absolutely NOTHING. The story has not progressed and the mc's haven't even kissed yet.
Unfortunately I own more books in this series. They will all go on my 'Not For Me' shelf.
Ever hated someone so much that you loved so hard. Well, this is how this story is. Makayla and Nick dated for one summer then said very mean things to each other and broke up. Took two years to see each other again just to bring up old feelings. But then to find out you actually are married to each other. Mercy what else could happen. Makayla moves back home after swearing never to return but just two years later she is back. Nick being back for about a year now after he gets out of the Marines. Nick sees her and both of them have feelings for each other but they don't want the other to know they do. So much was said on the last time they saw each other. With all the bad things said and felt do these two even have a leg to stand on with the other. Can the past be put in the past and move forward? Who all knows these two actually did get married when neither of them knew it really happened due to being so plastered? Want to know more grab this first book in this series. I really can't wait for the next books to come out see what happens between Luke and Autumn. Why do they hate each other so much? Can't forget Warren, Dean, or Hayley. So many people so many stories.

Makayla was returning to her small hometown to take over the newspaper when her dad told her he was not only retiring, but shutting the doors. Not only was it the only newspaper in town she grew up spending time at Charmed Gazette with her dad.
Nicholas left the Marines and was now a firefighter for the Town of Charmed. He can't believe his eyes when Makayla enters the diner. He hasn't seen her in two years. He's pretty sure she's deliberately avoided him the last few years when she's been back to visit her parents.
Why and for how long is she back? And how was she going to handle his news?
I loved this book! Makayla and Nicholas are amazing together. I loved watching them reignite their love without the towns interference, especially when Makayla gets the surprise of her life. I love all of the characters! Autumn is the friend everyone wants. Nicholas's buddies support of each other as they transition to life after serving in different branches of the military.
This book is very well written and the characters are well developed. I highly recommend this book and look forward to seeing what else will happen in the Town of Charmed.
This is the first book in the Charmed Series. This is a steamy second chance romance. The story sucked me in and I couldn’t put the book down. I really enjoyed Makayla and Nicholas' story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Welcome to Charmed a small little town in Kansas. It's cute and charming if not a little behind the times like most small towns. Makayla never thought she'd come back to live in Charmed but when her father said he was retiring and closing down the local newspaper he owns she knew she had to come to keep it running. Makayla has one person in town she’d love to avoid, Nicholas. Unfortunately, fate isn't smiling on her, not only does she see Nick but she also finds out they're married. They both have done some growing up in two years they were apart. Can Nick convince Makayla that he's changed for the better, that he's not the same hot headed angry Marine she once dated? Can they work things out and make the marriage work or will they go their separate ways?

This is author Jean Stokes first of her new Charmed series and is centered around the town of Charmed, Kansas. Mykayla is returning to take over her father's newspaper, a job she had always dreamed of having. The last person she expects to see again is him. Nicholas. They had been boyfriend/girlfriend but after a drunken night Mykayla took off. Nicholas tried to move on. He became a Marine and now a firefighter in the small town. The incredible spark is still there but the biggest surprise is yet to come. You see - sometime during the drunken spree - they got married.
This was a fun read. The characters were all people that I would love to meet. The firefighter buddies of Nick's, Mykayla's friend Autumn (that girl says whatever she feels and one of the buddies is usually the recipient).
There were a few things left unfinished, such as who started the fire (sorry you will have to read Reignited Love for more on that); with Autumn's antagonism toward the buddy and a few other mysteries it gives hope for more from this small town.
If you love a second chance, some incredible dialogue, firefighters, ex-military and a sweet romance then Reignited Love will give you that and more.

I really enjoyed this story, especially when Makayla got pissed at her not-so-ex boyfriend early on and invaded his workplace to rant at him. Brilliant scenes, great friend "buck up" talks, and some very enjoyable characters that I certainly hope to see again in sequels! Loved the twists. Definitely recommend for a cute and sweet romance between two lovers who let life break them apart, but no longer.
Once she'd found out about their situation, it felt a little like she forgot about it, which didn't feel as realistic as I'd like. She forgot, things progressed, and only very belatedly when someone else reminded her of it did she remember and still not do anything about it. A bit contrived, I guess? It didn't ruin the story, it just felt like something that might've made it better if it had been followed.

I have to say this one had an interesting trope from this author. All the books I have read previously by her had the characters be friends in the beginning but this one is a first. You find out really early on that these characters are actually already married and have been for 2 YEARS. Kay and Nick got super drunk one night and got married even though they both didn’t think they went through with it. Well Nick of course finds out before Kay(she has no idea). I felt bad that Nick had to be the one to tell her but I loved that she bit his head off in the middle of the diner. Thankfully she came back to town to take over the towns newspaper from her father and she brought a friend with her. I didn’t really connect to this story like I thought I would and it took me longer to read than her books normally take to read. This definitely has a cute HEA and a little insight into the next story/Nicks friends. I have a feeling Autumn is the main character of the next story so that will be interesting. I’m glad that this is going to be another series from this author but I hope the second one is more exciting.
I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. Yhis is my opinion and was not influenced by anyone.
Makayla and Nick had a drunken night and woke up married. Neither remembered it went their separate ways. Now she's back in the small town of Charmed, Kansas to run the newspaper father retiring from. Nick has left the marines and is now working as a firefighter. What do they do now? The couple haunt each other's dreams but will they take fate up on the offer to get back and stay together. The couple have great chemistry. They both have changed in the two years since they last saw each other.
Reignited Love is a quick read in this new series by Jean Stokes. It is romantic, funny and steamy. The town has charm and there are interesting people all around. This is a great start.
Makayla/Kay and Nicholas/Nick were hot for each other one summer when he was on leave from the military and she was between semesters at college. One drunk night, they apparently got married and neither realized it the next day when they had a huge fight and ended the relationship. Two years later, their story picks up again as she returns to take over the newspaper her dad is retiring from running.
The characters are fantastic, with lots of backstories, emotions and feelings. The romance hits a few snags here and there. After a major event in the town, they both come clean with how they really feel and a new future opens up for them. Loved how the event also brought more history to the town and the newspaper. Nice to hear the old homes were also honored and loved. Very well done.

This book was awesome! All of the characters, especially the main ones Nicholas and Makayla, just draw you into the story. It was humorous but also dealt with serious emotions with a realism that kept me pulled into the story the whole way through. I loved seeing these two maneuver their way around deciding if there was still something between them, or if their drunken marriage (that they were too drunk to remember by the way) was just a mistake that needs taken care of. By the time the dramatic ending rolled around, I was holding my breath in anticipation, because I did not see it coming! I can’t wait to read more stories set in Charmed, Kansas ❤️

A second chance romance. What if you found out, two years later, that a drunken night has changed your entire life forever? I enjoyed this passionate love story. These characters really worm their way into your heart.
Makayla is moving back to Charmed in order to save the newspaper that meant the world to her. Her dad is retiring. And the first person she runs into, is her ex. How can she live in the same town as him? They hate each other.
Nicholas is a former Marine, turned firefighter. He's at the diner and can't believe his eyes, it's his ex. What is she doing in town? He has tried to contact her numerous times to no avail. He has something important to tell her. Will she listen to him now?
Nick used to be a Marine. Now he's a firefighter. Kay was the girl he broke up with a couple years ago. Or so he thought. When she comes back to town to stay for good, the old flames of their forgotten love are reignited. Good thing Nick is a firefighter and is able to deal with all the crazy Kay brings back with her. Their road to their HEA had quite a few sparks and lot of smolder. This story has all the feels we have come to expect from Jean Stokes with a little intrigue thrown in for good measure.

Mikayla comes back to town to take over the paper her father is retiring from, only to run into Nick who she hates. Little does she know that they were married two years before. I loved this. The penance that Nick is trying to make and his issues he had been working on make for great drama. Mikayla is quite unforgiving initially but eventually comes around. I enjoyed the intimacy between the two and the addition of Autumn her friend plus the guys. They helped to add depth to the storyline. Jean Stokes writes a good book and this is very very good.

This is Mykayla and Nick's love story it's been two years since they have seen each they were so much in love that one night while the were drunk they got married then forgot about it, their egos were big she wanted to move to a big city, he had to go he was being shipped out because he was still a Marine
I would recommend this book and series for mature readers (sexual content and situations ) this book is at times equally funny, steamy, and romantic. They might have hated each other when they moved in opposite directions two years ago, but seeing each other now brings back the attraction.
This story was about second chances. It keep me engaged and interesting. This is my first time reading from Jean. And I like it. Makayla is back in her hometown to take over her father's newspaper company. She is smart, pretty, sassy and funny. On her first day back in her hometown she meets a blast from the past. She can't help herself. I love it. Nick is a good guy. He is handsome, sweet, smart and protector. He is so much more in tune with his emotions. Their journey is good one but with a little bit of bumps. The writing was done good. Good job Jean Stokes!
Nick and Makayla have unfinished business between them. They were lovers years ago. She left town, and Nick, convinced she would never return. Two years later news that her father is retiring from the Gazette encourages and hastens Makayla’s return, with her friend Autumn, to take over the town’s newspaper. Nicholas moved back to Charmed and has finally given up on Makayla Returning to Charmed as she seems to hate him. Their story unfolds full of angst by Makayla, emotive relationships, anger and fear. Enjoyed the resilience and growth of Nick and the lovely character of Autumn. 💕
The book was an enjoyable read. The characters were well written but there is a need to suspend belief, the way their stories are written you would expect the characters to be in their late twenties at least not twenty four. That said, it wasn't enough to ruin the book for me.
This was a good introduction to Jean's new series and a quick read, and it will definitely be enjoyed by fans of her other series.

This is a very entertaining book and it has a twist. She comes back home when her dad retires from the new paper she wanted to run. Then she runs into Nicholas they had a relationship at one time also had one drunk night where they married. Neither remember it. The chemistry is great between these two. The story flowed and it is a great start to a series. I was captivated from the beginning. I thought it had funny times and hot steamy times. Great book.

This is a great second chance read. Kay and Nick broke up a few years ago and she left town but now she is back. Their feelings are still there but they try to ignore them. What will she think when she finds out that they got married on a drunken night before she left. So much emotion and plenty of drama but also so much love.

This standalone, steamy second chance romance, a small town western military alpha romance , and book 1 in the Charmed Series has a really strong characters that belong together who are passionate and protective. These characters are well-crafted and the story is well-developed with good scenes. These characters come together with amazing chemistry. A must read

I really enjoyed reading this book. I like that it flips back and forth between the main characters point of view. I love Nick. He shows how someone can truly work on themselves and change for the better. He becomes a real man, the kind of man every woman wants.

I really enjoyed Nick and Makayla’s romantic second chance. It was emotional, steamy and had a bit of drama in the mix. It was entertaining and fun to read. This is the first book in the Charmed series about the romances of a group of military close friends. It’s going to be a series worth reading. When Makayla's father decides to retire, she moves back to her hometown that she swore she would never move back to. Once there, she runs into the man she fell in love with during one summer break from college, but he is more than she thought he was. He is not the man she broke up with two years before.

The first book in the Charmed series a Small Town Western Military Alpha Romance that is well written and kept me turning pages. I enjoyed seeing Makayla and Nicholas get there second chance. But I would like to know who set that fire, maybe the next book will give us more about it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
DNF. I didn't get very far before the timeline made no sense to me. Then I realized that the story wasn't engaging me.
Part of this was my own fault. Frankly, I don't know why but I read the blurb as being a period western but it was a contemporary romance and I guess that threw me off the story as well.
Allow a morning or afternoon for this PG15 second chance romance about two twenty-somethings who get married while under the influence, fight and break up, then go their separate ways forgetting they ever married.

The short story arc is good. The characters were believable. The writing, though, needs work. This is filled with typos and basic writing mistakes. I think once Jean Stokes hones her craft more, her creativity will be worth watching (and reading).

I loved this small town military well written story with characters so enjoyable that you just can’t wait to see what happens and where they will take you to
