Grumpy rating: -10 stars. Obviously.
Yeah, it's ALL bad. Especially this book. I hated every second of it. Reading it is was a pain from start to finish. I'm telling you, this was an even more horribly excruciating experience than having your pincers pulled. For the faint of exoskeleton this is not, my Grumpy Barnacles. My inner Grump-o-meter was already reaching alarming levels before reading this horrid thing, but now? There is so much nefarious grouchiness in me I think I might implode any second. I mean, thanks to this horrific book, I just learned that:
💀 “65% of wars are caused by puppy trickery.”
Why am I not surprised? Puppies are disgusting.
💀 “Flowers are cesspools of bee urine and hummingbird spit.”
So much for your silly golden daffodils, Mr Wordsworth. Ew ew ew and yuck yuck yuck.
💀 “A single kiss contains more germs than 100 toilet seats.”
Multiply that by 14,548 boyfriends in my harem and you get…*shudders* Note to self: don't think about it, Sarah. Do NOT think about it.
💀 “Cute, laughing babies are responsible for 99.5% of horrible diseases in the world.”
Already knew that. Why do you think I eat them for breakfast?
So here I was, embracing grouchiness like no shrimp had ever done before. His Grumpiness, however, thought I was feeling a bit too cheerful and jolly and stuff, and therefore decided to share the following meditation exercise in the hope that it would help unleash my inner grump once and for all:
“Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and envision the following…A bluebird serenades you from a nearby branch, keeping time to the musical babble of the brook that flows through the forest…and it poops on you. When you look up, it poops again. In your eye.”
Best meditation ever, if you ask me. It made me feel instantly worse and put me in the most awful disposition.
See? It worked! Success and stuff! ← Oh, dear. I do apologize, Your Grumpiness, I never meant to sound so revoltingly positive here. This meditation was a total failure, I assure you.
Not only reading this horrendous book was a dreadfully abhorrent experience, but it also made me realize that Grumpy Cat and my shrimpy self most unfortunately share despicable book taste. Yes yes, we do indeed. Looks at this:
A kindred spirit! Finally! Oops, sorry, what I meant to say was: oh bloody shrimping fish from hell, don't tell me I finally found a kindred spirit! Please say it isn't so and stuff! Yes, that's muchbetter worse. Still, that was really close. Phew and stuff. Another slip of the tongue pincer like this one and I'm pretty sure I'll get my inner Grump-o-meter confiscated. A good thing His Cantankerousness provided me with a Grumpy Emergency Action Plan (GEAP™) to ensure I met the Bare Irascibility Minimum Requirements (BIMR™) always.
Pretty handy list, that.

I should rate this book 1 star, because that's the only rating for which Grumpy Cat would approve. If he approved of anything. Which he doesn't.
My least hated thing about this book was when it made me laugh, especially the impossible word search. Second least hated thing about it was the cactus with the googly eyes, but that's just because they can be detached and then lost forever under the fridge. I almost didn't hate the diagram of the dog, with its "built in furry whip" device.

Otherwise, this "book" was a complete waste of my time. I'd ask for my money back, but I know what Grumpy Cat would say.

I love Grumpy Cat. But I don't know if I would buy a book when most of the laughs in it can be found on the internet. But I'm even more confounded that Rancho Mirage Library bought this book for their collection, or at least they bought the ebook. That is how I read it. It took me maybe 20 minutes including ROTFL time. There are some bits of info that I found surprising. For instance, did you know that 65% of all wars are caused by puppies and 98% of all diseases come from happy smiling babies? I really think Grumpy Cat should provide his sources. But you can do worse than browsing through a book loaded with pictures of Grumpy Cat...like watching a Justin Beiber video So, three stars because it was very funny if more than a little redundant.

I won this book in the Goodreads First Reads program. It arrived in the mail today. This is the fastest I've read and reviewed a book. Ok so it's mostly pictures but still.
The subtitle says "designed to put a frown on your face" I have to say it failed at that. I was laughing so hard tears were falling. The back cover sums the book up fairly well "it you're happy and you know it... Get away from me"
I've always thought this & grumpy agrees with me "Romeo & Juliet is a great love story... They both die" ?
There are games, puzzles, party advice, a recipe, even gift giving advice, in addition to memes, all to help you be as grumpy as Grumpy the Cat. If you love cats, love Eeyore, and/or are grumpy than Grumpy the Cat is for you. Great fun.

I gave this to my sister for Christmas. Obviously, I had to read it before I wrapped it.
I feel like Grumpy Cat is me, in cat form.
This book is a quick, entertaining read into the mind of an antisocial cat who hates everyone. So it's brilliant.

A great book of our time. I can only hope to one day be this grumpy. Is it wrong, though, that (a) litter box cake actually sounds kind of yummy and (b) I think someone might be able to run a successful political campaign based on "I don't care about this country or you"?

Honestly?
I thought this was pretty boring... they took like 5 pics of Grumpy Cat (max) and mirrored them or simply changed the background a dozen times via Photoshop (or some similar tool).
Not to mention that the slogans and jokes weren't funny at all -- I've seen way, way better ones online.. for free. Some of those even downright hilarious.
Not so much in this costly book, though.
So, I guess the promise of a "Bad Mood" afterwards wasn't that far off the mark, if for entirely different reasons though.. >:|

Grumpy Cat, the cat from the internet whom we know and love. But he wants us to leave him alone. A short book, makes sense. Grumpy Cat gives details and tips on how to be grumpy. He has fun games, not, where he gives u the answer at the bottom. The answers to most of them is along the lines of "no" and "I don't care". Such a fun read. It took me about ten minutes to read. I will love this book forever, but never live by it because I like to consider myself an optimistic person. Tell grumpy cat that he was born awesome. He'll destroy you and I'll laugh. He has corrupted me a bit... oh well.

I got this book in the gift shop at the Art Institute of Chicago and it is the most amazing book ever. I've always loved Grumpy Cat, but this book just brings it to a whole new level. The combination of Grumpy Cat memes and tips on how to be grumpy are hilarious. I laughed pretty much the whole time. I definitely recommend this to everyone in the world. It is beyond perfect.

This is a cute book with pictures, puzzles and word games.
The pictures and stories are primarily focused around Internet Meme, Grumpy Cat, and her advice on being grumpy.
Almost all content is suitable for all age groups.
Overall, a cute fun read.

This book made me grumpy because it was not nearly as grumptastic as it could've been. I LOVE GRUMPY CAT and was disappointed that the book used the same 4 or 5 photos over and over again. It was a cute little book, but I think they could've taken it soooo much further!

I'm really glad I borrowed this from the library. Spending any actual money on it would make me grumpy. I do enjoy the memes but this book was milking Tardar Sauce's popularity to its limits. Strictly for hardcore fans only.

Internet meme gone too far, way too far. I saw this on the library e-lending service and thought that it looked cute and could possibly be entertaining. Entertaining, it was not. I've seen many macros on the interwebs featuring the grumpy cat that were better done than the ones in the this book! The supposedly humorous list of how to be grumpy, etc. were rather sad (because the joke is over, time to put the cat to rest) and not humorous at all.

If you're a fan of Grumpy Cat, this book is full of laughs. I read through it with my 8-year-old and he laughed hysterically. He was eager to do the activities.

Has anyone done (or seen) a Grumpy Cat library program for teens? On my quest for passive programming ideas, I feel inspired by "Grumpy Coloring Time" and "What's Making Me Grumpy? Draw something for me to judge." Prop up a drawing easel, add some markers, and the program practically creates itself. This isn't part of the book, but cookie sheets with GC's picture on them (in various poses - scowling, glaring, glowering...) might make fun magnetic poetry backgrounds.
Short, fun, fast book - a good choice for reluctant readers - 9th grade and up due to the Grumpy Alphabet. As to the 2-star review, anything more would be contrary to Grumpy Cat's philosophy.

Grumpy Cat. Does anything really need to be said beyond those two words? The internet icon makes her first book as Tardar Sauce joins the ranks of Bill O'Reilly, Snooki and Charles Dickens on the printed page.
It's a fun little book ... you've probably seen half the pages and pictures in memes all over the internet already. And it's probably not worth the $9.99 price tag as an e-book (I got it on sale on Amazon today), but it's Grumpy Cat. I loves me some Tardar Sauce!
Don't expect high literature. Don't even expect Snooki-level prose. It's just a fun little book that expands on a single punchline. And that cat is damn cute. :-)

There is a reason this cat has become so vastly famous on the internet. He is hilarious! Funny thing is, he doesn't even try. He is just pessimistic, grumpy and miserable and it works. Man, the laughs I had while reading this one....
To think this is all based on an actual cat in the world. Maybe he's not grumpy in real life, but as long as his face is, there is an empire there. It's a ton of fun to see this cat poke fun at everything.
I also really liked the activities in the book. Maze, searchwords, and more. They were not really for kids though... Well, maybe the kid trapped inside us adults...
