Thane: Letting him go was the biggest mistake of my life. Giving me a second chance might be the biggest mistake of his.
I’d spent a year as Ronan’s friend-with-benefits, convincing myself that he could never feel the way I felt.
I was floored when those three little words flew out of his mouth.
So, I ran. And have regretted that decision every day for the last five years.
Now fate has led him back to me and to the Guardians, the merry band of mercenaries who have become my family.
Our last several missions have gone sideways, and Ronan is convinced that he needs to go back into the field to understand what our team is dealing with.
He’s putting himself in harm's way and we can’t keep our hands off each other.
God help me if anything happens to him.

Ronan: I can't think of anything more dangerous than giving my heart to a man who's already destroyed it.
Then again, I might not have much say in the matter.
My life’s been upended, and the only place that’s safe is with Thane and the Guardians.
It doesn't take us long to figure out that our passion burns just as hot as it always did.
Undeniable. Unstoppable.
I can't keep my hands off him, but I can't go back to being his friend with benefits.
And I have no clue how to trust him.
Thing is...if we could learn to trust each other, I might actually have something to offer this team of morally flexible do-gooders.

uuuuhm… It’s not that I was disappointed, more like unaffected?

Thane & Ronan were a sweet couple but I thought I would get waaaay more out of this second chance but sadly I struggled for a connections with both MCs and their story. The weird thing is, even though it was their story they still felt to me like side-characters for how much I cared for them and their love.

I’m still glad I didn’t skip on it because I still enjoyed this book and I did have a good time in the "Guardians" world.

HELLO docking and self-fellatio 👀 Did that get your attention? Good. That was the most interesting part of the entire book. I'm not sure I've ever seen those pop up in a book before, so count me surprised 😆 If those things float your boat, check out chapters 8 & 9. You're welcome! 🤣

Uggggh I did not vibe with this one at all 😞 Was it horrible? No. It was fine. It was just there. It almost felt like a filler book. There was no real buildup and excitement for Thane and Ronan's relationship. They've already been together and we pick up with them getting back together. It was one of the most uninteresting second chance romances I've read. The trope isn't really my thing to begin with so that didn't help. At no point was I invested in their relationship 😭 Zane Daniels made it much better than it would've been otherwise, but I still found myself waiting for it to end so I could get to Odd and DB's story.

Ehh..compared to the last book this one.. idk not as good.

While yes the action was good, i didn’t like how Ronan let Thane off the hook so easily.. I felt like there should have been more talking less sexing before they decided to start a relationship again…

Oh well, I am most interest in Odd and DB book the most so excited to start that.

I'm noticing that the couple's who don't really have much of a story to be explored in their book rely heavily on sex scenes to fill out the book. Most of Thane and Ronan's relationship development happened years prior to the Wrecked series so this was really just them reconciling.

They don't learn much new about each other, except that Ronan finally gets to see the toxic relationship Thane has with his father. Ronan seems to be the same person he always was, except he has a new job.

I'm not really a fan of sex scenes just for the sake of them because to me sex doesn't necessarily equate to love or romance - I'm Ace so sex is super insignificant to me!

Definitely not my favourite couple of Kelly Fox's but I did like that there was a bit more set up for Odd and DeShawn. I just hope that their book has an actual plot to it and that not all of their relationship has already developed off the page!

I'll give this book 2.5⭐ because even though it completely disappointed me, I did like both MMCs.

That's what I'd like to know.

This was Thane and Ronan's story, Thane being that giant brick of a man from the Wrecked gym.

Thane's one of the founders of Guardians, he's gay, from a wealthy family with a mountain of issues and had done the unspeakable act of pulling out and running away when his sex partner told him he loved him. During sex.

Ronan is that sex partner, who was hooking up with Thane during college. He's a very educated guy who was working for the government, but switched over to the Guardians in an op gone wrong.

🔵 Size difference
🟢 Both MMCs gay and around 30
🟣 Ex-lovers who reunite
🟡 No relationship development
🟠 I'm left feeling unsatisfied and confused
🌶️ Spice is not as good as in the previous installment

Not a good story.
It's like the 1st and this book were written by a different author, we're back at the same thing we had in the first book.

Thane and Ronan were hooking up and they both secretly loved each other, but when Ronan told Thane he loved him, he ran away.

If I understood correctly, these two were hooking up for a year, but once per month, that's what Ronan said. It seemed like it was a regular thing, but fine, that's 12 times, and a year is a long time, so I didn't buy the whole love idea, it wasn't believable.

5 years later they meet again on a Guardians op and when I read about them in Full Contact, I was anticipating a really good, sexy love story, but that's absolutely not what I got.

So when they meet again, Ronan is too quick to let Thane near him and out of nowhere, with no build-up, they get together, profess their love and are apparently in a relationship.

Thane comes back into Ronan's life acting all protective and possessive, like he had any right to? That was weird.

🟣 No apologies. Well, just a little bit.
Sorry I pulled out during sex and left and never looked back or called you, as a matter of fact I forgot you even exist ha-ha, but I really, really loved you back then. And now. I love you now too. You're miiiine. Don't talk about other men! 🙄🙄🙄

🟡 No pining.
Thane got therapy and supposedly loved Ronan all this time, but never thought of seeking him out. With phones and e-mails and all, what was a guy to do, too many choices. As long as he still has muscles.

🟢 No goddamn grovelling.
No crawling on his knees, no, what matters is only that Thane is huge, has abs and a monster dick.

A lot of things should've happened between 30-80% that didn't, everything important (for MMCs) was left out, I couldn't connect to them and their love story, although I honestly liked them.

I was going to DNF the book at about 50%, but I kept hoping it'll get better.

I will never understand how Kelly Fox continues to make every book she writes better and better, but man am I grateful for it. The newest addition to the Wrecked: Guardians series is everything you would expect from Kelly - snarky, hot as hell, and full of action. Add in all those familiar faces we know and love, and we have another exceptional read.

One of my favorite things about Kelly's books is how she keeps her couples together. The men finally get their heads our of their asses *cough* Thane *cough* or open themselves up again even if they chance being hurt, and once they are together, they stay that way. There's no 80% miscommunication breakup and chopped up, speedy recovery - her men fall hard, and accept what comes their way no matter what. It's so refreshing to read. That, and how seamlessly Kelly is able to incorporate action/suspense and romance into her books. I have yet to find another author who consistently doesn't allow one to overshadow the other like Kelly can. Action/adventure romance is far from my favorite genre, but Kelly makes me want to devour it.

And then we have Thane and Ronan. I've said it before and I will say it again - I am a sucker for a big guy who's soft on the inside, and that is Thane to a T. And the way Ronan brings that out of him is so beautiful. They had me crying so many times - happy tears for sure, but just heavy-hitting emotional tears too, as they both figured out that they deserve and want the love they have together.

I'm always on the edge of my seat waiting for more from Kelly, and now we have 2 books to look forward to. Odd and DB damn near broke my heart at the end of this book, and I can't wait to learn more about them. And Samuel is a sweet little ball of energy and he is going to be so much fun to experience. I'll just be sitting here impatiently waiting for more of Kelly's magic.

Thane and Ronan used to have a no strings attached relationship. For a year the arrangement worked for them but then Ronan admitted he’s in love with Thane and Thane left faster than anything, because he doesn’t think he’s worthy of love.

Now 5 years later, they have to work together for the Guardians team and all those feelings come right back.

Honestly, this was a good low angst book but it just lacked a little something. I can’t exactly put my finger on it but it was a little boring at times.

The premise and backstory of Thane and Ronan's relationship is absurd as hell. Thane walks out on Ronan because he is scared of commitment, and "he doesn't want to break Ronan's heart." Like, wtf? Also when they meet after 5 years, they're still very much in love just like they were in the past. We are not given any other insight or nuances into their relationship other than that.

Most Wanted by Kelly Fox is the 3rd book in the Wrecked: Guardians Series.

Tropes:
MM
Second Chance
Military/Security
Romantic Suspense

Ronan and Thane dated for 1 year as casual friends with benefits back when they were in grad school.

Now 5 years later, a few life experiences later and these two men have to face each other again after all this time. It’s no surprise that Thane and Ronan DO reconnect after 5 years as they were both in school for similar reasons. The government, military and security was always where they’d end up working.

Ronan worked for WITSEC where he noticed and reported wrong doings. Thing that the people in WITSEC are doing illegally. When Ronan reports all of this, his career was essentially over.

Now that he’s offered a job by DB & The Guardians, he has to decide if working with his ex lover again is worth it.

Thane broke Ronan’s heart. The two of them decide to put personal feelings aside for the sake of the mission.

The layers of why Thane wanted a casual relationship goes so deep in a beautifully layered story where the MC’s are mature and fight for their love.

Ronan did forgive Thane way too quickly in my opinion but that’s who he is. A nice guy who loves easily and it hit home the way he treated Thane kindly, even though Thane perhaps deserved a punch to the face instead.

I recommend this entire series, Kelly Fox is so fun yet also shows the emotions of the human psyche so perfectly.

💋💋💋

This is one review for the series.
An MM romance, that is a lead off from the brilliant Wrecked series.
The difference being that these books concentrate more on the mercenary side of the friendships.
They contain, violence, aggression, drug and human trafficking, and other triggers.
The books are written beautifully and are very good.

I love love love Kelly's writing and men and universe and all of the above. Everything about her books is fun and refreshing, with plenty of spice and action. Ronan is hilarious and Thane is so clueless (good thing he's hot, right?). Plus they are ridiculously hot together and the size difference only makes things hotter. Kelly has a really natural way of writing her men's chemistry and intimacy that draws you right into and root for the romantic relationship. And I really loved the Austin/Texas details thrown in. They make the setting and the world that Kelly has built feel that much more real.

*Edited to add - also LOVE how Kelly's men are emotional and openly talk about therapy. I want to see more of this in books!

I'm looking forward to the next book in this series, and for Kelly's next series! She is 100% a one-click author.

Audiobook Review

Ok listen, this is still not my fav of the series mainly because we don't actually get to know Thane in the first two books. We saw more of Ronan in the last one though.

Anyways, in this one we have Thane, a hulking massive man who was once involved with Ronan until Ronan accidentally told Thane that he loves him and Thane literally walked out the door in the middle of having sex. Ronan is the brother of Heath from the previous series and used to work for the feds.

I'm sorry but there was not enough groveling involved in my opinion.

So in between taking down bad guys they get back together.

I just want to say that you do need to read this one for the background of the next couple. Also, let's just say that Ronan is very bendy. Like extremely bendy and able to do things to himself.

I also need to point out that this file had some odd sound issues. Like some parts were edited in or something. If it had only been noticeable once or twice, I would not say anything but there was like this huge chunk.

Regardless, Zane did a great job and the narration was awesome.

I read the first book in this series, but I completely forgot to read the second book before this one. I don’t think I missed much although I do plan on going back and reading about Anders and Omar.

As for Thane and Ronan, the beginning of the book was okay, I don’t know if I like Thane as much as an individual character because of how he treated Ronan; however, I’m not sure I liked the fact that Ronan was so quick to forgive Thane for his callous behavior and actions.

The middle of the story has most of the action and what not, but I honestly felt indifferent to it because of how Thane was a bit overbearing yet also dismissive of Ronan’s capabilities as a member of the team. I don’t know why he had any say in Ronan going in the field or not.

The tension between Odd and DB was definitely something I am looking forward to exploring and looks like they will be featured in the 4th book of the series. DB has a lot of explaining to do.

*I received a ARC of the title from Gay Romance Reviews, and I have provided my honest review.*

More of what the author was offering before, which wasn't much if I'm honest. It's really just cliched character + cliched character + contrived angsting over *insert romance trope* = some satifying hot steaminess.

So, if you're looking to be lightly entertained without having to use too many braincells this hits the spot. I'm getting off the train after this one because it's definitely a case of diminishing returns and I can see getting annoyed instead of entertained by the next one following the same formula.

Ohhhhh these sweet boys. Kelly Fox writes such real, complex characters, and these two are no exception. Both are struggling with some pretty big issues as they're forced to reconnect with each other in a professional setting after years of no contact due to a very painful and abrupt ghosting. Thane is trying to escape the emotional damage from a toxic family, and Ronan is trying to escape, well... Thane. But he's also struggling with the actions he's had to take in his job, and I love that the author lets us see that struggle. The other characters in these books all seem like such Big Tough Guys that it's easy for us to ignore the mental/emotional cost of vigilantism.

I like the background we get on Thane, because we've seen him in all the books but it seems like we haven't really gotten to know him until now. I would have liked a little more on Ronan because I found that I didn't remember much about his character from Full Contact, so I ended up having to go back to skim that book to fill in the blanks on him. He's such a sweet guy! It's so cute that Parker seems to be collecting the strays. 😂 Speaking of...

We are introduced and reintroduced to some new characters this time (two of which will feature in a future series!), and they're wonderful. I'm excited to see how this case they've been working on throughout the series will wrap up. We also get to see a bit more into DB's and Odd's issues, and I'm pretty sure their book is going to break all our hearts. I'm definitely not ready to let go of all these guys!

I've loved the first 2 books in this series and
have been looking forward to Ronan and Thane's story ever since.

The reunion of Ro and Thane and them now working together brings out a mass of unresolved feelings and tension. Op's are going sideways and the team scramble to find the source of the dodgy intel and maintain the integrity of each op.

Emotions are high throughout this action packed story. I really enjoyed seeing the team bond a bit more. The family they made is exactly what the guys need.

I look forward to reading DB's and Odd's story.

Second Chances….they are something we all wish we had at some point in our lives. In Kelly Fox’s news Wrecked: Guardians book, Most Wanted, we are pulled into the second chance offered to Ronan and Thane. Ronan loved Thane at a time in their lives when Thane just wasn’t ready to accept love and had his heart broken for it. Now, years down the road they are pulled together again by fate and mutual family and friends. Ronan and Thane are given another shot at their HEA with a few curves in the road. I’ve loved Thane since the early books in both series and was thrilled with how he was finally able to allow himself to believe he deserved to be loved by someone as great as Ronan. This book made me want to go back and re-read from the start and relive all these wonderful ways and crazy ways all of these incredible men find their way to each other. Can’t wait for DB and Odd’s story next and to have DB’s history revealed. Also love the way the series will be branching off yet again, traveling down another road with some characters we have all grown to love and some new friends as well.

Have you ever read a book where you both loved the MCs, yet wanted to rattle their teeth at the same time?! Well, this fantastic, emotionally charged, action packed, poignant, grab-you-by-the-feels, smoldering, and totally awesome addition to this marvelous series was like that for me. Thank and Roan were so perfect for each other, but their journey to realizing that was ANYTHING but smooth. I would recommend getting this gem for yourself ASAP.

If I had to sum up this story in only one word it would be superficial.

Thane and Ronan might be generally nice, likable characters, with a few personal hangups, but their characterizations were virtually nonexistent and those personal hangups merely referenced in passing. Their whole on screen relationship was based on nothing more than great sexual compatibility between the two.

Besides severely lacking romantic aspect, action was supposed to be the other main focus of the story in a series about a misfit band of vigilante mercenaries, but it was another thing superficially done. I really did not care about their case nor was I really invested in the team catching the bad guy of the day.

Not having read Wrecked series I was entirely lost in one chapter where Thane is brought to Ronan's family gathering. I found myself annoyed with overly sweet loved up couples, with gaggle of children included, when I could not keep track who was related to/paired up with whom. Fans of the series might have found the cameos sweet but I found them completely unnecessary.

The only somewhat noteworthy thing about the story were moderately kinky sex scenes between Thane and Ronan, but considering my complete lack of investment in either of the characters and their relationship they were merely a curiosity.

Themes: dual POV, second chance, size difference, mercenaries/black ops

I knew from the first few pages of Kelly Fox's first book that I had found a new top author, and with every release she just keeps getting better. Kelly's conversational writing style is easy to read, yet still has plenty of depth.

This edition of the Guardians brings us the saga of Thane and Ronan. Theirs is a second-chance romance that's hot, sweet, and had me mentally shouting at the screen because sometimes men can just be dumb. The sex between these two is off-the-charts hot, but they also each have baggage to deal with before they can get to their HEA. There's action and adventure, though Most Wanted is a bit more low key than the previous two books.

Austinites or those familiar with the city will find yourselves right at home, and of course, the Guardians crew is prominently featured. While it's not necessary to read the entire Wrecked series to enjoy this book, you're going to want to read the first two in the Guardians, and probably at least Shameless from Wrecked. I recommend starting at Sanctuary - or even Scout and the Lavender Girl, which is FF - because the writing is just that good, and the characters quickly become like close friends.

I can't wait for the next one!

Unfortunately, I didn't like this book as much as the first two in the series. It seems that when Fox writes characters who admit to being in love early enough in the story, things get way too sappy too quickly for me. We lost the fun murdery banter part of the story to OTT declarations and heart eyes. I love love so it's not that I don't want them to admit their feelings, but it's like as soon as that happens, their personalities devolve and all we have are sappy lovesick fools. And it gets kinda repetitive and boring. Bummer.

Reviewing the ARC I received. What can I say, if this had been the first book by Ms Fox I would not be inclined to read any further. It just was adequate at best, at worse, it was contrived with the relationship feeling forced (Ronan should have made Thane grovel so much more!) The only good parts were the setup for the next book and a next series!

I don't even get what was going on in this one. This book was all over the place. Like the main plot didn't make much sense, the couple overcome their issues way to quickly and that was unrealistic taking in consideration their history. Out of all the Kelly Fox books I've read this was easily the worst. But hey, Odd and DB are next so let's see!
