I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Daily bible verses with things to think and ponder and sometimes even actions that you are asked to perform. Day one began with, “let us remember that the first day of the year marks the first time our Savior of mankind shed his blood for humanity.” December 31st ended with, “God’s plan is for us to share in His own blessed life…He gave us His Spirit to guide us on the way. The Holy Spirit transforms our hearts and enables us to enter into the perfect communion of the blessed Trinity, where all things find their unity.” Definitely a book to be read more than once. I will likely re-read this book in a few years and see what is different and speaks to me as I will be in a different place.
I enjoyed turning to this devotional aimed at Catholic women for a daily dose of reflection on scripture. Like any such collection, there is a wide variety of contributors, and some passages resonate more than others. Overall, there were many salient points and mediations that helped slow me down so I could ponder what God might be trying to communicate to me in the midst of my busy life as a Catholic mom.
This was a wonderful Catholic women’s devotional that I read this year along with my mom. And it caused us to check out other WINE (Women In the New Evangelization) books as well as those by Kelly Wahlquist. Really enjoyed it.
