Rate this book
Their worst nightmares lurk in the darkness…
The offspring of four cursed families risked everything to defeat the nightmare that haunts their bloodlines. But when an eerie melody chimes through the trees, they know the Bell Witch has returned. Her harvest of souls has begun, and they are running out of time.

Vowing to put an end to the evil presence, the four survivors venture into a network of caves. They descend deeper into the dark, flooded tunnels only to find demonic spirits tormenting them with nightmarish visions of the past—bitter secrets their families have fought hard to keep buried.

As the frigid water begins to rise, the survivors are confronted with the most horrific terror of all. They soon realize that the only way to get out of there alive is for one of them to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Will they survive? Or will they drown in the shadowy depths of the Witch’s cave?

What a fun ride. Though there are multiple MCs I came to enjoy Buck, Cadwyn and Basheba the most. That dynamic trio basically made the entire trilogy for me. I can't say that I was scared by any of the scenes or descriptions but it was a graphically disturbing read that my inner horror lover enjoyed.

The audio narrator is superb and his voice for the Witch and demons was not what I expected and I LOVED it. 5/5 for creativity and creepiness.

I'd recommend this trilogy for a good Halloween Read. Cult like town, demons, witches, curses and creepy creatures run rampant in this trilogy. Fair warning to the readers for attempted child rape, many killings, occult descriptions and good old cursing among other things.

Overall, I really enjoyed the concept of the series but there were a few minor things that caused me to become a little disinterested over the progression of the story. Personally, unnecessary love interests cause me to mentally roll my eyes and the third book made me look into the back of my skull multiple times.

Another problem I faced was the constant pace change. One chapter would be a real struggle to get through whilst others were a breeze and very enjoyable. The author tends to focus in detail on certain things and then rush others but in such a way that would cause me to get confused and trust me, it isn’t the type of book that should be confusing in the slightest. It’s quite simple.

So, if you’ve read the previous two books then definitely finish off the series to round off some of the edges but if you’re reading this before you start the series, please be aware that it isn’t the smoothest read I’ve had.

This being the final installment in a three book series was concluded with relief. It’s finally over. I really struggled to finish this and honestly didn’t even care to.

I was sort of disappointed in this ending. So much was happening all at the same time with very little explanation. And the ending was odd.

I want to say this series is "getting better and better," but I loved it from the beginning. Instead, I'll say "deeper and deeper," and are we provided with both backstory and nonstop action here! These characters never fail to surprise me, and that explosive denouement? To die for!

I purchased The Bell Witch as a trilogy. Clancy has written a fast paced action/adventure tale with a legendary witch as an antagonist. As installment 3 unfolds, we find that there is more to the story and other witches and demons in the mix. More than the first 2 installments, The Witch Cave has some chapters that are downright creepy as she explains the backstory in more detail.

I've criticized the first two books in this series for lacking atmosphere and pacing like an action/adventure more than a horror tale. This book does not break the pattern. I enjoyed it, but once again, more backstory, more detail and less action would have drawn me in and made the over-all effect one that would stay with me. As is, Clancy is just entertaining in the moment. The setting is fantastical and the action swift and supernatural.

This third installment wraps up the initial story line quite nicely. I believe that Clancy has added to this series. I enjoyed the first three, but have no interest in anymore. Though the main characters are likable, this is a young adult fantasy adventure series. It's November in New England and I want to be frightened walking in the woods at dusk, not flung around on a witch themed roller-coaster. Please don't take this is a bad review. I typically read enough reviews and check out the books I buy enough to know they will be entertaining. If they are, I give 3 stars. Books I really like get 4 stars. Books that change my life get 5. This was a fun read, it just didn't suit my mood and wasn't what it appeared. It is a well written, fast moving fantasy/action/adventure tale with witches.

The gang is at it again trying to kill the Bell Witch. This book starts out with a bang with killer sharks! I wasn't expecting that--especially as I was reading the book during Shark Week. We are also introduced to the building known as the Leviathan and a Kraken. The gang sets out to the Witch Cave to see if they can find the bones of Katrina. Of course there are obstacles in their way, lots of fighting, injuries and a few deaths. Which leads us to the next book in the series.

Philomena, Osgood, Cadwyn and Basheba are the last four descendants of the Crane, Davis, Winthrop and Bell lines to be selected to go into the Witch's Wood and complete her challenges.  After surviving Katrina's challenges and going back into the Wood to try to stop her one and for all, the four have forged an unbreakable bond.  Now, the four have been training to go into the Witch Caves where they believe Katrina is buried.  They want to find her remains in order to stop the curse again.  However, the town cult finds out what the four are up to and now Mina, her brother Jeremiah,  Ozzie, Cadwyn and Basheba have to deal with a panicked Witch, crazy cult and the dangers of the Cave.
I really enjoyed the first two books of the Bell Witch series and would highly recommend reading those first in order to understand the Witch, her harvest and what builds the unwavering relationship between these four characters.  The Witch Cave amps up the intensity with the group trying to outwit both Katrina and the cult.  All of the characters are still wonderful and continue to grow.  I enjoyed seeing Mina stands up to her family once again and tries to learn everything she can about how to kill a ghost.  Ozzie uses his family's money for good and learns how to deep sea dive as he comes to the realization that he is not the weakest link in the group.  Cadwyn continued to amaze me with his levelheadedness, caring and medical skill.  I appreciated learning more about his time caring foris little brother, Abraham after his trial in the Witch Woods.  This gave a lot of insight into his character as well as showed Katrina's power as she transported Cadwyn back to the abandoned psychiatric hospital in Massachusetts where Abraham spent his last days. Basheba also continued to be a fierce powerhouse along with her dog Buck.  More of her history is revealed along with her families entanglements with the darker side of humanity and a creature called the Leviathan.  The writing continuously builds apprehension as fearsome creatures and obstacles created especially for each character get in their way.  The story ends with an unexpected bang and I can't wait to see what the next book brings.

Disclaimer: I received this book for free from LibraryThing in return for an honest review.

Bathsheba Bell, Willimina (Mina) Crane, Cadwyn Winthrop, and Osgood (Ozzie) Davis/Sewall put an end to the Bell Witch or at least they thought they might have. But Katrina is stronger then ever and she started the Harvest early this year. From the Crane family she has chosen Mina's older brother, Jeremiah. But Bathsheba, Mina, Cadwyn, and Ozzie have one last plan to stop Katrina. To stop her they need to travel through the Witch Caves to find and burn Katrina's bones. Not only do they need to find their way through the caves but they need to do it while outrunning Katrina and the cult of Blackwater and they are running out of time.

Each book in this series gets better and better. Again I found this book to be a quick read. Each novel goes deeper into the background of our four protagonists and the history surrounding the Bell Witch. That being said, I did find myself getting "confused" in parts. I felt like I missed something and had to re-read sections. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to read the fourth book!

Still scary!

I decided to read the first book in this series because it was free and looked perfect for what I like to read in October - supernatural horror. I loved it and have purchased books two through four so far. Each book brings something new and scary, and I expect that will continue throughout the series. The four who went into Witch Woods in book one now go into the caves, all in hopes of protecting their families from Katrina. Remember how Basheba fears water? There's lots of water in the caves, along with other things that the other three fear. Mina's brother Jeremiah joins the group, adding another layer of complexity. Now I'm off to read #4!

Worth Your Time

I read all 6 books in the Bell Witch series. The driver to do this was primarily for the characters, and secondary for the plot. But the plot started to fall apart or get too muddled for me after the 3rd book. In a way it was disappointing. The main characters started to get too far out there about the 4th book. I honestly believe the author should have left both the plot and characters alone. The scene settings were fairly decent and remained constant throughout the series. All in all it was worth the time and effort, and I found it enjoyable.

Just when you think you know the characters. Just when you think you know what’s happening, secrets are revealed that you never could have expected.

Book 3 in the Bell Witch series shows us secrets from the past, secrets that make us question our favorite characters and shock us into wondering if we know any of them at all.

Do they complete their task?
Can they trust their families?
Can they trust their friends?
Who will make it out alive?
Who won’t?

I can’t WAIT to read book 4!

Although I am not typically a fan of horror novels, I found this novel to be written well. I was drawn into the narrative and the story line was well-crafted. Definitely read the first two books in the series (The Harvest and Sacrificial Grounds) before reading this one.

*I received a free copy of all three books in exchange for a review of this one.

Damn This Book Is Awesome

If you want adventure, this us it. If you want supernatural and suspenseful this is for you. But read the other two books first. I don't so spoiler but lets just say these 4 people are badass and the hardcore one reminds me Anita Blake before she became more slutty then badass anymore. 5 goat men out of 5

Wow! Another great book in the series. I loved how the author keeps adding onto the background of the main characters. It gives them so much more depth and makes them so much more enjoyable. It was a great ending to the Bell Witch. I liked how the focus shifted from Katrina to Whitney being the new villain.

I'm very impressed with Clancy's ability to maintain character continuity throughout the Bell Witch series, even as the characters age and go through massive evolutions, they always still feel like the same people and they always feel real. Sara has a true gift for putting her readers in the shoes of these characters and showing us her terrifying world from their perspective.

This is book number three in the series but could be a stand alone but wouldn't be as good without the character building. Sara builds her books on one another. You have torture, death. So much action with twists and turns along with shear horror. I highly recommend this book.

The shear amount of retcons in this book is astounding. What I can say that I liked about these books is that each one has one legitimately scary moment. What I don’t like is that this trilogy has no satisfying ending. And the whole journey just felt rather pointless.
