This book is an attempt to unfold the thrilling stories about the colourful, mysterious, enthralling and captivating legends of ancient Malabar, shaded with a tone of history. It conveys the beauty of an ancient society that had a code of life. It is a romance, celebrating the tales of heroic men and women, some of whom were divine.
Wonderful book which covers a lot of tales and legends. My favourite part was the section on temples and local deities of Malabar which was very helpful and interesting
Picked this up at a bookshop recently after seeing the cover art & skimming through a few chapters. Very drab rendition of what could’ve been a great set of stories individually. The author tries to cram in too much narrative into each chapter, making it unreadable after a few chapters (save for the nostalgia value). There’s no continuity, no sense of flow, very disappointed.
