Dakota is a member of the Solitaire BDSM club and they are having a party. She is at the front desk when the owner David comes in with another man. The man is introduced as Jay. Dakota is playing a house sub for the night and she and Jay get together after her duties as a board member has been taking care of. They have a good time and she wants to see him again. She goes back to the front desk and Garrett, another board member comes in and asks her "Can you tell me if Jackson Fischer has checked in yet?" Dakota feels she has been punched. It has been nearly fifteen years since she last saw him. "What did you just say?" Jackson Fischer? Has he checked in yet? I need to ask him a question about a job he is doing for the club. She gets upset since she is a board member and she didn't know about the job. She goes looking for Jay and when she finds him, she tells him to get out. Things do not go the way she wants. She is told that Jax is there to look into what is going on with the problems with the members of the club and with who wants to get to her. She is not happy to have to work with Jax. Whenever she is around him, she gives him short or chilly answers. She is an heiress and one of the board members of the Triple Q cattle ranch which is owned by her father and she is trying to get into a file about her sister, Devin's death but it is only allowed to be viewed by her father. She calls her friend Marissa for help. When Dakota gets the information back and reads it, she is shocked to find that Jax didn't have anything to do with Devin's death. It was her father who sent her off that night. Now Dakota goes to find Jax and wants to know if it was true. When he tells her yes, she feels guilty for the way she has hated him all this time. Things change between them at that time. Jax asks "Are you mine?" she tells him that she is. Jax is holding Dakota in bed when he gets a message from her father wanting to meet. He knows it is not good news. When they meet, Dakota's father tells him to leave her alone and leave the state or Dakota will pay the price. Jax drives around all day trying to figure out what to do and when he tells Dakota about her father, she tells him he doesn't have to stay. Things start to happen to Dakota and she knows her father is behind them. He is trying to get her kicked off the board of the Triple Q. With everything that is going on, Matthew a friend of hers called and said that he was sending a package to her at the club and would be there on Friday night. Dakota and a few of the other wives of board members are meeting at Solitaire on Thursday night and there is a knock on the door. Thinking it might be her friends, she answers the door. There is a woman there and she asked if she could help her?
The woman said that she was sent there by Matthew. Dakota asked who she was and how she knew Matthew? The woman said her name was Gemma and she was Matthew's wife. This floors Dakota since she didn't know he was married. When The wives show up, they are just as shocked. Gemma tells them a little of her story and said that she will tell the rest when everyone else gets there the next day. The more everyone looks for answers, the more questions turn up. Things with Dakota and her father heat up and she goes after him after he sends her ex-driver to burn her house down. Samuel, one of the board members has gone to London to look for Matthew after he is told about the package coming in. Samual has been gone for a while when he lets them know that Matthew was dead. He tells them it looks like a car accident. The members of Solitaire decide to have a memorial for him at the club and as Gemma tells stories about Matthew, she gets the feeling of them being friends since Gemma said that they couldn't stand each other, and nothing of the romantic love between them. After the memorial is over, Dakota goes to the bar and asked Mitch for a double shot of whiskey. Jax is there and tells her just one. She takes a drink and then pushed it toward Jax so he could finish it. Her phone rings and she pulls it out of her pocket so she could answer it. "Don't take too long," Jax said as she stepped away looking at the unknown number. "Hello." "Dakota. Darling. I need a bit of a favor.” The voice slammed into her and she reached for the bar to keep from falling. “I was just at your memorial,” she whispered, afraid her mind was playing tricks on her. “I’m so sorry about that. How would you like to help raise me from the dead?”
Will Dakota and Jax find out what her father is up to?
Can Jax keep Dakota safe?
