Didn't really enjoy this, downloaded for free on Kindle (also didn't realise there were other books in the series)

The reading was generally easy enough. And the concept is something that would make a good TV show but I doubt I'll read any of the others, it didn't draw me in but I can see the appeal. I didn't think she had described the characters very well, but did the food?!

**Potential spoilers**
Several parts that annoyed me as a reader:

Everytime Dimitri spoke "in Greek". So did Lottie speak fluent greek? Why did he do this when everyone else was speaking English?

Why did she always refer to Lottie as a tiny woman?

Why does Lottie "giggle" so much. She's middle aged, I doubt she giggled like that at every occasion. And it was always giggled, does she not have any other words?!

Why does she have 3 boys but their names are never mentioned?! Why are they ALL, ALWAYS away?! It's a bit of an odd concept, saying they were grown and at university would have made more sense.

Less "romance=y" than I expected - a good thing. This is a wonderful story of a woman who has to take a long, hard look at what her dream might be, and then make it happen. The romance along the way is a nice touch but, as in real life, secondary to the main character's dream of happiness.

Throughout, the imagery conveyed through room and through scenery descriptions transport the reader to Pretty Beach. I would have liked recipes, though :)

I found myself rooting for Lottie. Are there unfinished story lines? Sure, as is to be expected halfway through a series. A plus is that this book stands alone. I haven't yet decided whether to read on, but I got a full, satisfying story if I don't.

Another enchanting story set in Pretty Beach where Lottie needs to earn some money to stay in her beautiful house in Strawberry Hill Lane. The wonderful community lends its support to Lottie as she has done for them with her Dinner Deliveries over the years. Lottie is surprised when she feels tingles on meeting Connor Bally. She had thought that her life was to be spent alone. I love the detail that Polly uses in her stories so much so I could almost smell the salty sea air and taste the yummy cinnamon buns from Holly's bakery. I love the characters and the circumstances that they get into. Always a pleasure to read. Thanks Polly.

I just adore Pretty Beach books, they’re a pure joy to read - escapism at its very best!
In “Secret Evenings in Pretty Beach” we get to know Lottie and follow along with her as she tries to find her happy place.
I discovered this series by pure chance on Amazon and now have to pre~order as soon as they magically appear in the listings.
A superb and such a happy book series to read. Dive in if you haven’t yet discovered Polly Babbington and her friends.

Sparkling and doused in gold

Lottie has been alone for years, her boys are away at boarding school and her only company is Dimitri her step father. One evening as she's contemplating how to pay her bills he comes up with a way to keep the house. Start a pop up resteraunt, but Lottie has another thing to keep her occupied, she meets Connor, he's a God. Pretty beach rally around for her business and her love life isn't shabby either.

Rather too much use of variations of the phrase 'showered in gold'... What does that even mean???
