POSSESSIVE AND PROTECTIVE AND PUSHY
Another great addition to the Wolf Ranch Series, and yet, it is a fresh new story with a few people from previous stories. This one will bring the real Natalie Shefield to claim the house and land left to her by her late Uncle Adam Shefield and Rand together. Rand worked as a ranch hand and helper to Adam, and that was when Natalie met him when she was only ten, and he was sixteen. But Natalie will witness something, and with the wise words of her Uncle, she will keep the secret. The chemistry between Rand and Natalie is evident from the beginning—he is drawn to her and realizes that her scent is calling his wolf—she is his fated mate.
Natalie’s only family that she felt love and a connection to was her Uncle Adam. It was a shock when he died and left everything to her. She has been away at college, working on her music degree, yet has lost the love for playing her violin. Not even her parents know her plans, and she doesn’t want them to. So, it is to claim her new home and try and make plans for her future. Meeting up with Rand wasn’t necessarily in the plan, but not something she is opposed to. When he comes to help out on her wiring issues, he knows she is his.
Natalie is considering turning the place into a bed and breakfast—but that is only an idea she is tossing about. She has a job serving drinks, but that isn’t a future. She will talk with Rand about her thoughts, and when he shares them with other pack members, that is when trouble begins. It is vital for the wolf pack to not have a bed and breakfast with humans wandering about. Rand tells Rob he will work on it.
The chemistry and sexual attraction between Rand and Natalie are instant. Eventually, she will share that she knows about Wolf Ranch and that they are shifters, but her Uncle told her that it must be kept a secret. I love all the angst, passion, mystery, suspense, and danger that are part of this story. There is also Rand's issues saying things that come out wrong when he is trying to convince Natalie that she is his and that it is ok now for humans and wolves to mate.
“Fate alone should dictate the rules of mating not the pack.”
“I want love. Not wolf lust.”
“Get ready to lose your mind, Red.”
“Show me what you’ve got, wolf.”
Trouble has been simmering with an older pack member who has caused problems in the past. He has stirred up issues, disagreed with Alpha Rob’s decisions, but this time, he takes things too far. The story has intense, life and death moments that keep the pages turning as the story unfolds. But, will Natalie be able to accept that Rand does love her and that this isn’t just a wolf thing? Is this all because of the land and control?
“I’m your mate. I take care of you. I love you, Natalie Shefield. Now and forever. Human love. Wolf love. Every kind of love there is, I’m in it with you. You’re mine, and nothing’s going to change that. I want to be yours. Forever. Will you let me claim you because you’ve already claimed my heart. My soul. My wolf.”
