After years of searching, I have finally found my lost mate. She is a changeling in the human world, hiding her true identity. She must return to the Night Court with me, whether she wants to or not. Her fear is delicious, and I cannot wait to break her down, to make her my Queen. The only thing I didn't anticipate is how I might grow to care for her. I am the Night King, though, and I will not be taken by a changeling. She is mine, and she will either accept that or die.

Review: Fast-paced & engrossing read. Our couple definitely gets off on the wrong foot, but kindness, respect, and curiosity soon prevail. Looking forward to seeing how they handle the coming challenges.
So... let's talk about this book, shall we? The problem is... I don't know where to start. "From the beginning, you idiot!" you'd say... Unfortunately it's boring and predictable as hell... The Night King is looking for his Queen, who lives in the human world and doesn't know to be a fae. She knows there's something strage with her: her fingers can ignite sparks and flowers grow in her hair! But that's normal, isn't it? Then the Night King arrives, kidnaps her (too predictable!!) and after a few weeks she falls in love. That's all.
Where's the chemistry? Where's the spark? Where's... EVERYTHING? I believe it's hidden at the Winter Court, but I'm not sure. I'm so disappointed! The first pages were interesting and I read them happily... Then everything moved too fast, without any descriptions, retrospection and plot. That's so sad.
Theres so much I could say about this book. Its super amazing storytelling. I adore anything Faerie and the way Natalie has woven her tale of fated royal mates, Roan and Siobhan finding love in the middle of an assassination is pure magic. The fact she mistrusts and hates him for abducting her and he works through it to earn her love makes me love him more. Roan is the Fae King. The Night Court is his realm. And slowly she comes to realise its her realm too. But true love means freedom to choose. And Roan allows her to leave through love. The secondary characters are just as good too. I loved Tala and Mary. Theres no doubt Ill be going on to read book 2. Lots of questions need answering.
There may be a great story here, but the homophones and misused words are a constant distraction. At one point the author leans into using the word “glimmer” instead of “glamour” only to switch to using glamour later.
This book was amazing! I loved the characters so much. Will definitely be adding to my list to buy on paper back so I can reread when ever I want. Definitely recommend this book and the author in general.
This book has the potential to be great, but the story building was non existent. There’s no connection to the characters because everything was rushed through with no detail and no background, no details, it felt as if it was written as a short story.
I really enjoyed this book, short but I loved it. Love the houses, the creatures, the twist at the end, jeez that was unexpected 🖤 can’t wait to read more
