This was a new author for me. It was ok nothing special. Epilogue needed more details. Like how many kids did they have? It is a short story but could have been better.

New author and its pretty fast pace and sweet with tiny tiny drama.

Nora is the scarred twin sister the one who's father doesn't love, so when her sister says she being forced to marry they trade placed now shes the bride everyone gets what they want but Garret.

When they first meet Garret thinks the marriage is just in name but once he was near "Lily" his whole world changed. He feels different and he doesn't want to let her go.. but then finds out about the lie and doesn't care.

I wanna read the other stories.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, tiny drama, virgin gal no manwhore

Man, the last few Cassie Mint novellas I've read have just been disappointing. I think the problem is the formula here. I always have an issue with a love story that develops in the span of a day, where everything happens so quickly that it doesn't even make any sense.

Garrett is a dealer of stolen art who has a grudge against a man, we don't really know why but he wants to make him feel miserable and the only way he concludes that he'll be able to do that is by marrying the beloved daughter of said man. What Garrett doesn't know is that this daughter has a hidden twin, Nora who will take her place instead...

I made her cry. God fucking damn it. I want to get down on my knees and slam my head against the marble.-Garrett

I mean, isn't it reminiscent of Jessa Kane's heroes a little? This can't be serious 😂 The image of it LMAO

I could talk a bit about the characters but I didn't really like them. Garrett was OTT and Nora was the sweet clueless young woman who'd never touched herself even though she'd read many erotic novels. Makes sense (not). No development around the situation between Garrett and the dad. Nothing really mentioned about Nora's scar or why she was kept hidden in a tower à la Rapunzel. Garrett and Nora professed their undying love only a few hours after meeting (and getting married) Honestly, it's like all the essential steps in a relationship were skipped for the sake of rushing the story.

Would I recommend this novella? Didn't like it. This formula just doesn't work for me, sorry. I need a story to make sense even if it's short. I need good pacing, a decent plot and likable characters. If I can't connect to anything that happens, what's the point of even reading it? I'm crossing my fingers in the hope that the next novellas in this series will be better.

A completely random KU novella about a totally healthy way of handling business disagreements - something about the hero seeking revenge through marriage. It’s fine - none of this really matters in these short little novellas as it’s about romance.

The trope of twin switching places and discovering true love is kind of fun so I gave it a whirl. Unfortunately, this wasn’t as fun as I expected - mostly because of some odd writing choices. The insta-love is usually fine given the length of these stories but the hero came across as deranged.

The book opened with this gem:

“... I want to ruin him. I want him gutted and hollow; I want him to lay awake in his bed at night, sweating and trembling at the horror of what I’ve done. I want him to know, down to his wretched bones, that he brought it on himself. That he roused me. He poked the beast. Angered the Fox.

“Inside, I’m a maelstrom. And I will have my vengeance.” - this is probably when I should have bailed as I had the sounds of the Gladiator theme playing in my head.

The plot went as expected but there wasn’t much in the writing which I found fun - meh, I am going with 2 stars. It was ok - possibly because it was too short to really annoy me.

While the plot was pretty ridiculous given how quickly the MCs fall in love with one another (it literally happens within a few hours of meeting), it reminded me a lot of something Jessa Kane would write, so I had a fun time with it. This is the perfect kind of read to get out of a reading slump. The premise also gave me strong mafia romance vibes. Looking forward to reading the next novella in this series!

Steamy short.

This was a nice steamy short especially if you like a little spanking play. I like how Derek immediately fell for Nora and didn’t feel anything when he saw pictures of Lily. Even though he was head over heels for her he still had that gruff, commanding presence that’s super hot.

After an accident that left her with a visible scar, her father locked her away so that nobody would see her, especially compared to her beautiful twin. When her father falls afoul of Garrett, the Fox, her sister is going to be forced to marry him. So that she won't have to, they swap places. Mostly, Nora just wants to be free. But Garrett realizes that something is amiss right away; that's okay with him, though, because he knows that Nora was meant to be his.

Commentary: Really liking this author! I was getting tired of Olivia T. Turner and Jessa Kane - I feel like their books have always been ridiculously OTT, but have become even more so and just aren't for me anymore. But now I've found Cassie Mint, and I love these steamy stores with sweet heroines and j/p heroes. Garrett was a great, slightly-older hero who would do anything to keep his girl. All Nora wanted was her freedom - until she met Garrett, that is. The two of them together were perfection.

This was a quick and insta lovey novella, and I had a lot of fun reading it! Cassie Mint's romances about twin swapping just hit the spot when you need it :)

Quick, Good Read

I was excited to read this book within the first couple of paragraphs. The storyline was fantastic.

I would have given 5 stars, except the author never showed Nora telling Garrett about her being locked in a tower for so many years. With the kind of man Garrett is, I feel that would have been a really good, essential part to the story.

Otherwise, good book.

The Fox takes a bride....but what happens when he discovers it is not the one he thought it would be

Swapped Bride is the first book in the Twin Swap series. This is the also the first book that Cassie Mint has published so I was not sure what to expect. I was really pleasantly surprised by this novice author as I fell in love with this fast-paced, OTT insta-love short story. The story is about Nora Mountford and Garrett "The Fox" Taylor
Nora is nineteen years old and has lived the last eleven of those locked into a small room by by her father while her twin, Lily, has been presented to the world. The reason for this is a skating accident when she was eleven that left Nora with a bad scar on her cheek. Her father is a high end art dealer who only values beautiful things. Since her scar made her ugly, at least according to her father, he had not use for her any longer and so the world thought she was dead.
Garrett is a high end art broker who has been wronged one two many times by his rival Mountford. The only way to teach the man a lesson was not to ruin him financially, as he would build that back, but instead to take something that he really valued. So it was that Garrett decided Mountford's beloved daughter Lily would become his wife, even if only in name.
When Lily finds out about her forced marriage to The Fox she is upset and goes to Nora with the news. This is even more hurtful for both girls as it will mean that Lily will be taken away from Nora and the two are extremely close. Nora thinks up a plan that will see both the girls get their freedom and so she swaps places with Lily on the wedding day. It may mean getting married to The Fox but not really as she is the one standing there but it is Lily's name being used. The plan is to disappear as soon as she can from The Fox and start to explore the world and live her life. What she had not anticipated was her immediate feelings towards The Fox. For Garrett it was an immediate attraction that he had never felt before when he saw his intended bride standing at the alter. All he knows is that he wants to make her happy in every way and is about to do anything he can to make that happen. The question is what will happen when he discovers that he has married Nora and not Lily? Will Nora be able to get away and have the life she has only dreamed of?

I really enjoyed this story. There were a few things that could have been done a bit differently to make it better but the author has done a great job with her first book. It is well written, has an engaging story-line and interesting characters. Plus the HEA is sweet and very satisfying. I will be reading more of this author and this series.

Eu comecei a ler a série pelo terceiro livro, depois o quarto, mas nenhum deles me empolgou, então não tinha intenção de ler os dois primeiros. Contudo, eu fiquei curiosa sobre eles e resolvi arriscar a leitura. E ainda bem que eu fiz isso. Esse livro foi tão melhor!

Eu curti muito acompanhar a história de Nora e Garrett. Ela sempre sonhou em se libertar da opressão do pai, mas nunca pensou que encontraria a liberdade e a felicidade ao lado do homem que tinha uma fama ainda pior que seu progenitor. Que sorte a dela que Garrett não era nada do que ela pensava.

Pro livro ser perfeito faltou só mostrar reação de Garrett ao descobrir a verdade sobre como Nora fora tratada a vida toda pelo pai. Estava esperando para ver a punição que ele daria para o homem (porque só ele estava em posição de fazer isso), mas não tivemos absolutamente NADA sobre esse aspecto e isso foi bem frustrante. Outra coisa que poderia ter sido melhor foi o epílogo. Citou crianças e eu estava doida para ver a interação de Garrett com os filhos, mas a autora optou por usar o epílogo como mais uma cena íntima do casal. Eu preferia que o foco tivesse sido na vida familiar deles, pois afinal a gente já tinha ACABADO de sair de uma cena íntima dos protagonistas (que já tinha sido precedida por pelo menos mais duas outras cenas do tipo). Não precisava de mais uma, tão cedo assim. Mesmo assim, foi uma história bem legal e eu curti a leitura. Me surpreendeu!

Quick insta

This was a very quick read, an OTT alpha and a sweet young woman. It was missing some key info, such as; we didn't hear her tell him anything about being abused and neglected for 11 years, What was his reaction? How do we never hear, not even in the epilogue, that he destroyed her father for the things that were done to her?, How did she hide a facial scar that was supposedly so hideous that she was locked in a tower for 11 years?, what happened to her sister? I can enjoy an OTT insta love story, they're some of my favorites, but along with fiction comes the satisfaction that the bad guy always gets his, it's expected. Overall though, even without the aforementioned info, this was a really good/cute story with a hea. It had all the other tropes I enjoy; a not manwhore(no talk of past)ott alpha who knows what he wants, V heroine, some heat (could've been more) no om/ow drama and a hea. I will definitely try more books by this author because I see definite potential and feel like she could become a one click purchase author.

Nora’s sister has to pay the price of their father’s recklessness by an arranged marriage. But Nora, always hidden away from view, knows that she can deceive the groom if even for a short period. Her distinct facial scar might give her away later, but she’s willing to do anything for her sister. Garrett on the other hand doesn’t much care about the girl he’s marrying — until he sees her at the altar and becomes obsessed.

This was short and cute. Similar to Alexa Riley and Ella Goode novellas. I liked how steamy this was also. One thing I would’ve wanted to see was Garrett’s reaction to Nora’s facial scar. The novella only describes 1 day (the wedding day). Then the epilogue covers another day in the future when Garrett and Nora are settled, but how did he first react to the scar? Would’ve been fun to know.

So I wish it was longer, but I would still keep this on my shelf and reread it.

Sisterly love may lead to love.

I kind of loved this story. It was short but entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable although I am hoping that daddy dearest gets some comeuppance in the next book. This story isn’t a cliffhanger, just that one item still pending. Nora has been mostly alone since an accident when she was 8. Her sister Lily was her only visitor. Lily visits Nora and tells her that Lily must marry because of their father. Nora came up with a plan to get herself out and away from their father while also saving Lily. Garrett was determined to punish Lily’s (and Nora’s) father by taking his prized possession, Lily. When he saw “Lily” at their wedding, he was immediately drawn to her and positive that he had to keep her. The reveal was both fun and a little surprising. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

I really enjoyed the story. Personally I hate the D*bag dads. This dad got into trouble and gave away his daughter in marriage, but only because he swapped with her twin. Nora was locked away because of a scar on her face. Anyway she swaps places with her sister and she is okay with it. When she meets Fox he completes her. The scar is a giveaway that she is not the daughter the dad truly loved. Great storyline and I loved Nora how sad she was. Fox was not as bad as I thought he would be. Then to round out the story the steamy parts were really good. I totally loved this book so much that I preordered the other two in the series.

Tricking the groom

Nora likens herself to Rapunzel locked away since an accident scarred her face. Her twin Lily comes crying that she has been sold in marriage by their father. Nora makes a plan to trick both her father and the groom by taking her sister's place and escaping both. "The Fox" Garrett Taylor just wants to punish Nora's father which is why he asked for his daughter Lily but he thinks it will be in name only. The best laid plans can change in a minute as Garrett can't believe how attracted he is to his new bride. Readers should enjoy this book following the development of love and attractions between both these people. I would highly recommend this book.
