My aunt purchased this book for me as a birthday present just two short months following the death of my beloved dog, Ozzy. My husband wisely said that I should probably wait a little while before I attempted to read this. So, I waited until around June/July before I took it to work as a lunch book.
It was the perfect lunch book in the fact that, the essays are only a couple of pages long. You could gobble 4-5 essays easily while taking a break.
Some stories are fun and quirky. Others bring a tear to your eye and get you all choked up when you’re supposed to go back out and deal with the public shortly. All of them remind you about why dogs are so awesome.
I would definitely recommend this one to dog lovers.
One of the things I like about the Chicken Soup for the Soul series is that they are short stories and when I can't seem to get back to the book, I don't have to worry about remembering what happened before. ;-) I started reading this when my dad was in nursing home health care, sometimes I would read aloud and other times while he slept I would read silently. Lots of cute little stories that I could relate to even if our dog was not the same breed as the stories were about. I liked the book.
Another great book from Chicken Soup for the Soul. 101 tales of canine companionship that won't let you down. If you are a dog lover, this is a good read. The stories are all written by different individuals and about things only they could have experienced with their dogs. True love shines through in the individual stories. Good way to start the year 2022......
Fun collection of stories all about man's best friend and how they fill so many roles in our lives--their sensitivity, their loyalty, their sweetness, their goofiness, their intelligence.
