America's Top Psychic Medium and New York Times Bestselling Author reflects on his life of speaking to Spirit and the lessons he's learned along the way—from both the living and the dead.
Matt Fraser is just an ordinary guy...who happens to talk to dead people.
Born into a psychic family, Matt carries on the legacy passed down from his late Grandmother Mary by connecting people to their dearly departed loved ones and delivering messages from the other side. His sold-out live group readings, television appearances, and private readings have allowed him to bring hope and healing to fans from around the world.
But people who are not in the habit of talking with the dead have a hard time imagining what his day-to-day life is like. Based on the questions he gets, they seem to think he spends most of his time sitting cross-legged in a trance, maybe hovering a few inches off the ground, leaving his physical body behind as he journeys across the veil to the spirit realm. But it's not like that at all.
Now, in When Heaven Calls , Matt opens up about it's really like to be a psychic medium—including how he discovered his spiritual gift, what it's like to connect with souls on the other side, what communicating with the dead has taught him about embracing life, and how you can tap into your own intuitive awareness to manifest your dreams, goals, and desires.

Over the past few months I have become interested in and facinated in the work that mediums do, especially Matt Frasier. I have been following him on social media, watching his videos, going on his facebook and instagram lives and read many of his books like this one. This book is called Heaven Calls Life Lessons From A Top Psychic Medium. I was drawn straight away to this cover as Matt is tangled up in a phone chord on the phone with clouds surrounding him. I lost my Dad in December of 2024 and I would give anything to get a phone call from him again!! I knew I needed to read this book as I did the others.
Matt dedicated this book to many of his family, friends, loved ones in spirit as he couldn’t just pick one because he loves all of you so much! Each of you played a very special role in getting him to where he is today. He mentions them individually.
Before the book starts we get a very well written forward by Matt's lovely publicist. We learn from her how they both met and what psychic experience was like with him. She also gives us an inside look of who Matt is behind the scenes.
My heart broke in two when a client was talking to Matt who thought her Mom was murdered by their hospice nurse but she actually died of brain cancer. Her Mother’s spirit needed her to know this so she could move on.
In the book it describes that Matt worries about disappointing his fans if their loved ones don’t come through in a reading. I can understand that. I too would be disappointed if I went and did not have my Dad come though for me. However, I would be interested in hearing other people’s readings and learning from theirs. If it was meant to be it would be.
I thought it was very interesting that at age 3 and 4 Matt was able to hear ghosts. He shares his very interesting story on how to find out and come to terms with his gift. Not only that but how his family reacted to the revelation.
He included some pictures of his family with captions so that we could put the names to the faces that we just read about. Even at a young age he still had that beautiful smile that could brighten any room!
For me personally some chapters hit harder emotionally than others because I am still mourning the loss of my Dad. Overall it was a very good read and would recommend it.
Entertaining, informative and enthusiastic, you’ll enjoy reading Matt Fraser’s down-to-earth psychic autobiography revealing the path that lead to his career as a high energy intuitive and star of the hit E! television series Meet the Frasers.
I received this book for review courtesy of Goodreads.
Thank you to Matt Fraser and Gallery Books for a copy of When Heaven Calls: Life Lessons from America's Top Psychic Medium. I have been lucky enough to attend one of Matt's group events about a year ago. I wasn't sure what to expect - but am so glad I attended. I was not selected for a reading, but left the event afterwards feeling peaceful and a sense of joy....as did my relatives who attended with me. Matt's book explains everything about his gift - from beginning to present. I truly appreciate the Tools For Life section at the end of each chapter that offer tools and tips to practice what the chapter has covered - from being open-minded, etc. I am going to share this book with one of the relatives who attended with me and know she will love it as much as me. I had questions - ie is Dad really leaving me pennies? Is that really my dog coming to me in dreams? And after reading Matt's book, I now have answers and am at even more peace than I was when I attended his event.
I actually did not know who. Matt Fraser was going into this book but love psychic mediums so I figured I'd give this a try since I won it in a goodreads giveaway. I thought this had a lot of really good advice in it and that he had a really interesting outlook and take on heaven and the afterlife that matched many other psychics that I've listened to or read from. This was a very quick read and I'd say it's worth it if you're into psychic mediums and want advice on what to do before seeing one.
Thanks to a goodreads contest I received an ARC of this book and I’m leaving a review to say thank you!
Psychics and mediums have always been interest of mine. I had only vaguely heard of Matt Fraser before so I was really looking forward to reading this book. It’s so positive and uplifting and doesn’t get too bogged down in the details of trying to explain how his mediumship works. This book for me is a keeper and it really warmed my heart to read about his experiences with spirits and the afterlife
I've read studies about people with brain injuries/accidents/ and people who claim to be natural born psychics and how their brain activity drastically decreases when they're providing a psychic reading. I find it fascinating. So I've started to read more personal experience books from psychics. I'm an optimistic skeptic. Matt's book was enjoyable and he aligns a lot with Laura Lynne Jackson and Tyler Henry. It's interesting.
Very insightful book. I don’t know much about psychics or mediums so I learned a lot about them and the difference between them. The author also spoke about heaven and how the spirit of the deceased communicate to him and to the living which was interesting. I wish the author spoke a bit about how the deceased interact with God and Jesus.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. When Heaven Calls offers a serene and enlightening exploration of mindfulness, energy, and self-discovery. With practical guidance and spiritual wisdom, it’s a perfect read for anyone looking to deepen their practice, enhance their well-being, and connect with their inner self.
This fun book has lots of accounts of people getting in touch with their dead parents, children, friends and others. It's a quick read, and I wish it had more about the people and stories of contacting the other side. I think it has too much about the author and his family.
I found myself captivated by Matt’s experiences with spirit and his message of hope. Matt doesn’t claim to be God, and still he has a beautiful gift which allows him to connect with the other side and which he uses to encourage others to embrace life.
Charming author though a slight read. I read When Heaven Calls by Matt Fraser as he is charming on YouTube. He is a channeler, however, in this book the author is talking surface level about his day to day life to a readership who might not necessarily believe in the eternal soul or multi-dimensionality. Didn’t inspire or teach me anything new.
Definitely put things into perspective for me. This book made me cry but also opened my eyes to all of the good that can come when our loved ones pass on
Not a psychic seeker, but I really enjoyed this read! I can see how it would help anyone grieving with life lessons... plus he is funny! Now I am going to have to check out his show!
Not quite what I was expecting, but interesting to read about his family and his start. I honestly enjoy the TV show snippets that I catch online more.
Matt Fraser's books are certainly entertaining, and are always 'larger than life', much like his personailty. This book was also comforting for anyone who has lost someone special. Good read.
