Books can be attributed to "Anonymous" for several reasons:
* They are officially published under that name * They are traditional stories not attributed to a specific author * They are religious texts not generally attributed to a specific author
Books whose authorship is merely uncertain should be attributed to Unknown.
An Amiga hint/solution book, with crazy-unbalanced game coverage and horrid typesetting. Example:
Bard's Tale II (where "II" is typed as "11"), has just this to say: If your[sic] tired of waiting for morning to come enter and exit the guild. Find a band of illusionists and kill off the front line, have your caster conjure DISRUPT ILLUSION, you will keep disbelieving and gaining experience.
In contrast, Ultima VII, which wasn't even released for the Amiga(!?), spans nine pages. The author(s) only covered a single Ultima game (clearly VII by the solution), but typed VII as "v11", which made me think version 2 at first. Apparently they confused themselves as well, since the back cover lists some of the included games, stating "and of course THE ULTIMA II series, and many more."
I guess in the pre-web days, if you pirated a lot of games, it might be fun to see one or two hints for each. But wow, this was a shoddy effort.
