Quick, steamy, exciting read.
On the run from her uncle Jen finds herself at the heart of Xander's club. Sparks fly straight away and everyone can see how the two look at each other but their journey to a HEA is not an easy one.
A certain situations just really didn't go well with the story line for me, it contradicted many earlier thoughts and conversations that took place between the two main characters. Many feelings were not resolved and Jen and Xander seem like they weren't on the same page with their relationship most of the time, this pulled me out of the book a lot. It seemed like the author wanted to have some scenes just to add to the shock factor and 'sexiness' of the book instead of adding character development.
Xander was an enjoyable, quick read that I got through within the day whilst going about my day to day life.

I feel like the overall storyline had potential but fell flat.
After Jen’s dad dies, her uncle puts a hit on Jen, so she takes off. Her cousin Liam let’s her stay with him, where she meets Xander. Xan is president of his MC chapter. Despite their nearly 20 year age gap, their chemistry is instant. It was instant-love without much conflict.
There wasn’t a lot of storyline between the two main characters, in my opinion. We kept hearing about Xan’s ex’s without a real rhyme or reason. They both had shared explicit concerns when they got together and at one point towards the end of the book, something happens that is the complete opposite? It made no sense to me. & the scenes that followed (waiting room bit) raised even more red flags. It felt like some things were thrown into the book just to add more spice/shock factor maybe?
At the end of the book, both characters seemed to be on different pages with their relationship, and felt rushed and vague. We didn’t really get closure or an ending.

This story is not for the faint hearted!! This mofo was rough raw gritty and hot AF! Xander is not your typical MC Pres not at all!! Yes he has traits of the traditional MC Pres but this man has a heart and he feels and cares deeply. Both him and ahem grew up in the MC world they are two broken and damaged souls that are instantly drawn to one another and Xander would burn the world down to the ground for Jen… Jen is guarded and has put up some walls to protect herself from being one of “those” girls in the MC!!! These two together are complete fire! The drama the suspense is a complete page turner and them spicy scenes lord help you!! They are HOT AF!!! Looking forward to the next book in the series and this one is a must read!!!

Jen comes to the US to escape her uncle. Finding solace with a cousin and the Black Stallions MC. What she finds is a distraction she can’t afford but she’s going to need him and the MC when her past comes knocking.
Let me say that Jen is a kickass lady who can fight and take care of herself like a man while being all woman in the process. Xander won me over because he may be tough and brutal but completely respects her and women in general. What they experience together in the penultimate was just savage and tests their fragile relationship.
The problem I had with the book started in the second half. The introduction of a character and the storyline with it was just strange. It was at odds with how the characters were in the first half and made no sense. Though I didn’t expect the perfect HEA, I thought the ending for the book fell flat since it didn’t address anything.
Warning: there are strong triggers so take heed.

The Silver Fox!!
Xander is the Pres of the Black Stallion MC and has had his fill of the younger women but that doesn’t mean that he won’t make exceptions!! Jen is an MC Princess whose father has died and left the club to her but her uncle had other ideas. He thought that Jen would make great club property.
Now she was on the run and ends up at Xander’s chapter and to say that Xander is ready to change his thinking about 27 year old women is about to change. The heat is turned up high on these two and I loved every minute of it. I can’t wait for more to come from this author!!

May 15, 2021It was hard to follow. You had to read several lines further to understand who was saying what. The character Xander was shallow and self serving. When his girl gets taken he bawls like a baby not like some badass biker. He says he loves Jen but lusts after her best friend 6 months into his relationship with Jen.
The story had potential but needing to be done in a better format.

Where do I begin with Xander? Truthfully I have no idea this is the first time since I have begun reviewing that I actually feel like I can't go into detail about the book. Soo much happens and anything that is said could literally give the story away.
Let me start off by saying, this book has serious trigger warnings, Rape, Drugs and Violence feature, so please if this is something that could possibly trigger you then don't read it although it just a brilliant book.
This is an age gap romance with so many scenes that will have your mind ticking. Jesus some of them are HOTT!!!
Xander is the president of the Black stallions San Jose MC's. He was born into the lifestyle and was handed the role after his fathers passing. Jen is a woman on the run from her uncle who is out for her blood and had a hit on her. Her father used to be the leader of the Black Stallions in Sydney. She is strong and fiesty and can definitely look after herself and Xander loves that about her instantly. The only problem is she has vowed never to date, sleep or fall in love with a biker and the man that captures her heart is the head of them. He has also sworn to not let anyone close enough to fall in love but Jen steals the wind from out of his lungs.
This story literally moves at 100 miles an hour, soo much happens and soo quickly that you are gripped into finding out more and wanting to see what else happens. I really enjoyed reading this book my only critique would be sometimes it moved too quickly almost as if it was being rushed along a little which meant you were second-guessing it a and the ending through me. I felt .Like we didn't have a closing on them slightly but that only means book 2 in this series will hopefully keep us updated and give us new characters to read about and I can not wait.

Xander is the President of the Black Stallions MC, in San Jose. He is a young President at 45. What is likeable about him, is the way he treats the women, or mouses, as they are called in the MC. They are treated with respect, and have the protection of the MC. When Xander sees Jen for the first time, he knows, he will do anything to make her his.
Joanna is on the run from her violent uncle. She left Australia after her dad died. She came to San Jose because her cousin, Liam, lives there. Readers will definitely feel the chemistry between Joanna and Xander. Both, have no problems expressing their interest in each other. Joanna tries extremely hard to resist Xander, but he will not be deterred. Xander has no problem showing, or telling Joanna how he feels. Joanna is guarded, but goes along with Xander.
I like this couple. West makes this couple look very realistic. Xander and Joanna, are passionate people. Their chemistry and understanding of each other, and club life is what makes this book successful. The only thing I did not like was the ending. It cut off to abruptly for me. This is written in dual views Xander's view and Jen's View. She is MC princess from a chapter in Australia, but she wasn't raised to be a princess more like the one to take over after her dead passed away, some didn't want to have a female as president that was including her uncle. Her uncle wanted to turn her into the stereotypical role of a female in a club, and she didn't want that so she seeked refuge with her cousin from her mom's side of the female. Xander's is the president for his chapter in San Jose and he is asked if he can protect Jen from her Uncle at the beginning his hesitant, but he see's her and she is no princess. The story continue with their pull-and-tug relationship. The writer writes Jen to be this strong female, but somewhere she loses strength don't know how the hell that happened. Xander is suppose to be this bad-ass President, but he turns into a total whiny when she gets kidnapped by her uncle. I think there is inconsistency with the two characters in this story. Definitely triggers in this book. Damn is Xander's going to be a douche let him be a complete utter douche from his book as well. So the award of complete utter douche goes to Xander, but yet again he gets a happy ending what the hell.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the first book in the Black Stallions MC and features Xander and Jen. Jen is a strong MC princess that has lost her father, gained a club with big enemies and is now on the run. He is the prez of another chapter and a rough older man. He is not anything like what she ran from though. These two have a connection that sparks between them. I thought that Jen was a strong character who found the man she could finally let down her guard with. Xander was a good MC prez but made an excellent partner for Jen. He plans to do whatever it takes to protect and keep her. Jen did not expect to find herself attracted to a biker after being around them for so long. Xander is not just any biker, though, he is her biker. These two have a story that is full of drama, danger, betrayal, MC life, lust and love. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. This book does have several triggers

Ok I have never read this author before, She has crept up and blasted us with a story that will blow your socks off! I was not expecting to be Thrown for a loop as this woman has! I have to tell you she is going places and she is rising and such a wonderful storyteller! Listen she blew me away and that is all I am saying! The story is fledged and contrived and delivered with eloquence and such riveting beauty. I teared up and was definitely feeling it still long after I finished it. You know those really exceptional stories that can transport you and then fling you back once it is over but still lingers with you? Yes this is THAT! Now the characters well they are developed, they are, there is no, gosh I can not find the right words for this except to say GET THIS BOOK! It is so good! I will be eyeing this gal for more from her in the future and once you see what she is delivering you will too!

I don’t think that I have ever rooted for anyone as much as I did Xander and Jen. I could tell that they belonged together from the very first time they looked at each other.
I love the fact that Xander runs his MC chapter totally different to what his father did. I found there to be more respect and free will for the women which I thought was great. I absolutely love how fierce, intense and kickass Jen is. There were so many times where she cracked me up with the banter that she had with the bikers.
My heart broke learning about everything that Xander and Jen’s mothers went through at the hands of their fathers. I could clearly see the differences between how Xander runs the chapter and how his father previously did.
I didn’t see any of those twists coming whatsoever and I can’t wait for the next book so I can find out the truth about what happened.
I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.

This was a very fast paced, action packed, utterly intense and gritty story that draws you in right from the start and keeps you riveted to your seat seat throughout.
Jen is a strong and very feisty MC princess that is going through a whole hell of a lot emotionally after losing her father. When Xander agrees to give her a job and a place to stay the drama between them never ends. Their instant connection and attraction to one another is explosive and completely undeniable. These two kept me entertained and on the edge of my seat right to the very end.
This story is filled with drama, emotional turmoil, danger, betrayal, murder, mayhem, passion and love. It got so intense at times that I thought I would break my kindle from gripping it so tightly.
I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

If you enjoy MC romance then look no further then this gem. We meet Xander the leader of the Black Stallions MC. He has decided that it just may not be in the cards for him to find the perfect woman for him especially after his past experiences with woman. This is why he attempts to stay away from Jen when she shows up seeking safety from her horrid Uncle who took over her dad's chapter of the MC even though he made her the heir. This leads to all sorts of dangerous situations as the story evolves but the two of them just cannot seem to stay away from one another despite the age gap as well as the danger. Makes for quite the romance as the story plays out creating a fun read for fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

2.5 stars.Minimal plot and skeletal characters.I enjoy dark and steamy but not if its the only thing on the menu forcing me to speed read and or skim because I've little to no connection with the characters.Also I am no grammar Nazi ,but noted issues with sentence structure and misuse of words .For instance use of insight rather than incite.
I enjoy the angst of cheating reads and was recommended book two by a FB group,but figured I should read book one first. Should I intuit the extended length of book 2 as an encouraging sign? Does it signal that the afore mentioned issues have been resolved and or that a true plot with fleshed out characters await? Will seeking out the angst of the cheat among its over 400 pages be reward enough ? Indecision remains...

Such a great if emotional read.
I'm a huge fan of MC reads and so when saw this was releasing it went straight on to my to be read pile. I wasn't sure what I would get as have never tried the author before but it did not disappoint.
The writing kept me interested and I did not want to put it down. The characters were done well so that through it I really felt for them. Jen has ran from her uncle and the mc she was raised with but Xander seems to be just what she needs.
There is parts some may find triggers them so I would check any warnings if there is something you find distressing or don't enjoy reading. This will be one I will recommend to other MC Romance readers and I look forward to seeing more from the Black Stallions MC and the author I the future.

Xander is the President of The Black Stallions, he's sworn off younger women they're troublesome. Jen had to get away from her Uncle he took over her father's MC chapter in Australia and was threatening to hurt Jen, Jen runs away to her cousin Liam in the states. Jen and Xander notice each other and sparks fly, Jen and Xander can hardly stay away from one another there's far too much energy there and lust. What happens when Xander can't keep his distance and Jen finds herself in trouble once again?
I like this book a lot it was a quick read for me, it was exhilarating, sexy, and worth the read, I can't wait to read another book by Ava West!

Xander was a fast paced MC romance that I think will hold a lot of appeal to readers. Xander is a “silver fox” MC president and Jen is the daughter of an ex president of a different chapter on the run from her uncle. Xander and Jen come together quickly and have a lot of chemistry and steam. There’s plenty of action too with the mix of Jen’s character and the MC club. The dynamic that developed between Xander and Jen was strongly not for me at times but that doesn’t mean it won’t be a good fit for others. I did feel like some of their emotions in a situation did not get resolved and I felt a little off about that as well. I thought overall this was a really good book and quick read.

So I am usually not much to own for MC book, but I am so glad that I found this series! Xander is one of those guys you love to hate, he is an absolutely a hole, but also a complete softy inside. the more you learn about his history, the more you understand about why he is the way he is.
Jen also grew up in a club, and now is running for her life. Xander is not what she thinks she needs in life right now, but she can’t resist.
I will say that the ending left me a bit wanting, but I think that is because of book 2. It also makes me really excited for the next book.

Xander took what he hated about how his dad ran things in the MC and changed it, for the better. Jenn is bad ass who is the daughter of a president of another chapter. His death sends her on a path that leads her into the arms of the last guy she’d ever fall for. But we don’t get to choose who we connect with. Xander and Jenn are hot from the start so keep that ice water close by as these two get steamy. This book has steam, lust, drama and whit that will leave you wanting more....Can’t wait for book 2.

Such a great story. Xander is the President of the Black Stallion MC club. Jan is the princess of her father's MC club but now since her father died he left the club to her. But there trouble in that decision as Jan's Uncle wants to get rid of her. Now she's running from her Uncle and ends up at Xander's Club. This has plenty of danger and super steamy time between Xander and Jan. Loved the storyline and the characters. Am looking forward to more from this author and the Black Stallion's. He runs his club differently than others, treating women with respect but he is still rough and tough and alpha to the core. Jen is MC royalty but finds herself running across the world from a dangerous past. She is a force to be reckoned with, tough and feisty. She guards her heart fiercely but she can’t deny her attraction to Xander’s charm and magnetism. Will they be able to find common ground? Will she be able to outrun her past. Great start to a new series.

Thisbis well written woth a good indepth story line and characters you cant help fall for!

This is my first book by this author but I can promise you it won't be the last
I was hooked from the first chapter and enjoyed the progression. The characters had me clamouring for more

Xander is the alphahole MC President that I love to hate and hate myself for loving. He's everything a MC President should be - dominant, stubborn, driven, and controlling. Jen is younger and in many ways forbidden, but that makes him want her more. This is book 1 in the Black Stallions MC and it's everything the first book in a series needs to be: drama-filled, hot and introduces just enough side characters to keep you wanting more.

Xander and Jen are rather enthralled with another pretty fast. The heat those two have will leave you wanting to read more just saying. I definitely enjoyed the action and I can’t wait yo see More from the black stallions mc
