General Lo’San is second in command on Command Warship 1. Refusing the matriarchal ways of his home planet, he broke all ties and left for Cruestace in the hopes of joining their military and building a better life for himself. He’s kept his singular focus pinpoint sharp. One’s integrity, one’s honor, one’s duty is all that matters. Warriors aboard his warship have found and claimed their females. He however, has no interest in such emotional matters of the heart… they dim one’s focus. Then a human female with eyes of blue and sparkling, silver highlights in her hair catches his eye. She’s reserved, beautiful and smart. He made it clear he’d be receptive to her advances, and now he waits. Unable to understand why the hell she won’t claim him!

Synclare was one of multiple females rescued from a slaver’s ship by the Cruestaci people. Those not claimed by their mates were anxious to get back to Earth. But not Synclare. She had nothing to go back to. Raised a trust-fund baby, she’s never had people that cared for her instead of her wealth. Even her own family were more interested in her money and what it could do for them, than in Synclare. As she waits with her friends for their transport back home to Earth, she notices a strong, stoic, beautiful male. His white hair, silver skin and gray eyes captivate her. He’s quiet and serious, commanding and sure, but makes every effort to let her know he sees her, and he’s interested. She begins to believe that he may be her future, and she lets him know she’s interested. Yet no matter how often she puts herself in his path, he just won’t claim her!

Among General Lo'San’s customs and people, it is the place of the female to claim and mate her male. He cannot imagine doing it any other way. Synclare’s customs indicate that the male should claim and mate his female, and she won’t do it differently. It is not her place to tell an Alien General that he is hers — it’s all on him to take that stance. While they try to find their way through their confusing clash of customs, a manipulative danger lingers on the horizon disguised as family. This danger could cost Synclare her life if they aren’t careful. Will Lo’San recognize the danger to his beloved Synclare before it can steal her away from him, or will he continue to fall under the plan of deception that’s been woven for him?

I write Paranormal, SciFi and Fantasy Romance. Why, you may ask? Romance, because who doesn’t love a good romance, and the lack of reality in the story lines - because, well, normal is highly overrated. I’m 55, I have two kids, one 32 and one 12 (yes, God does have a sense of humor), one grandchild, one husband, and a menagerie of animals. Literally, too damn many things that eat wandering around our property. I love to cook, and I am a voracious reader, though since I started writing I don’t get as much time to read as I once did. I am a homebody and prefer my writing/reading time to a crowd. I have had stories and fictional characters wandering around in my head for as long as I can remember. I started letting them out into the real world and surprisingly, people have loved them. I am a Self-Published Author, and I like it that way because I can decide what and when to write. I am by no means a formal, polished, properly structured individual and neither are my stories. But people seem to love the easy emotion and passion that naturally flow from them. A bit of a warning though, there are some “triggers” in them that certain people should avoid. I’m a firm believer that you cannot have light without the dark. You cannot fully embrace the joy and elation that my people eventually find if you do not bear witness to their darkest hours as well. So please be sure to read the warnings supplied with each of the synopses about my books before you buy them. I've got three series published at this time, Avaleigh's Boys - PNR, Whispers From the Bayou - Fantasy PNR, Haven - a SciFi, and three more in process. I’m a bit sarcastic, scathing actually, and a smartass to boot, so if I offend you, it is most likely not intentional. But be prepared because it probably won’t be the last time. I’m always glad to hear from readers; those who have followed me from the beginning, and those who have just found my people. So feel free to look me up and say hello, or just follow along; either way, I’m glad to have you.

Another great addition to this series

Absolutely love this series which keeps you captivated. Story lines that follow the characters through each book, with lots of laughs as well as angst. Can't wait for the next one, but who or where shall it be based? Can't wait.

Series: Haven #4
Rating: 2.5 stars

For the past two books we have seen General Lo’San and Synclair’s relationship progress and now we are finally seeing them admit their feelings and mate. Because we have seen their relationship develop over the previous books, this book basically starts with their mating and goes from there.

These two are happy and jump right into attempting to have children through fertility treatments, which are extremely hard on Synclair, and get worse as the story goes on. I will admit, I got a bit bored about hearing about her fertility treatments and how these two wanted kids. It felt a bit repetitive.

The majority of this book was focused on Lo’San’s family, which he has been estranged from, returning because he has mated under the guise of trying to mend bonds. This is all a ruse to get rid of Synclair though and bring Lo’San back under the mother’s control and bring honor back to the family. While I was interested in this storyline at first, I found myself getting irritated at Lo’San and Synclair both because they both knew these people were extremely manipulative and toxic and yet they just would trust them with stuff, like medication. In the end, the whole storyline with the toxic family was fine but a bit irritating at times.

Overall, this was not my favorite of this series, but I am still interested in seeing what will happen next with Ba Re and Elisha, and with Quin and Vivian after that announcement at the end of this book.

TW: toxic and manipulative mother and sister-in-law; drugging and kidnapping; infertility issues

I didn’t want the story to end

From the very first book in this series, I was hooked. I have enjoyed the other series written by this author, but this series is my favorite. I wasn’t sure about reading the first book in this series until I took a chance and became totally enchanted and invested in the characters within the first few pages. The horrors inflicted and endured, the human spirit with a will to survive no matter how small the chance is, and the desire to save others from the same fate is the underlying start to this set of stories. I can’t express the gauntlet of emotions I have experienced as characters were rescued, try to heal from physical /mental trauma and learn to trust, feel and interact with others. The warriors who encounter a ship transporting abducted slaves ( some decades ago being put into suspended animation and awoken for specific reason, then put back under so they don’t age) are enraged and set forth to find and stop those responsible. These warriors/elite soldiers on a warship have not interacted much humans and a lot of humorous and heartfelt incidents keep the stories entertaining. This is the fourth in the series and as in all the others I quickly became invested in the two main characters. A large group of main characters appear in all the books allowing insight to personalities, responsibilities, and life on this warship. I truly love the characters ( new and old) and hope the muse for this author will help them speak loudly to her, as I want many more to have love finally and a happily ever after ! This and all the books are stand-alone, but if you read them in order all of the actions and emotions of the characters will make it a fuller/richer reading experience.

I have so much to say about this book! I absolutely loved Lo'San. I've affectionately abbreviated his name to Lo. Synclare is the female that is his and she is a bit stubborn, but I completely understand why. I beta read this book for Sandra and I have some fun thoughts from my notes! I have to say that I love all of the males in this series. They are a serious hoot! In chapter 4 - The purring. I want a male that purrs! This chapter is all tease! Can I build a shrine to chapter 5?? Holy hotness! This chapter deserves a reread right now. (Which I did!) "We may never leave this room," INDEED!

One thing you won't fall in love with is Lo's family. Especially his mother and his brother's wife. I have many unkind words for them. At one point I think I was wailing and knashing my teeth at the plot. Good stuff!! And these males are total DRAMA queens. The posturing and yelling that goes on between them is utterly comical. These big men can dish it as well as any girl squad which is really a scream. And Rokai is such a rogue in this one. I would give this book 10 stars if I could! 5 FABULOUS stars!!

The focus of this story is on "other woman" drama and the hero's mother not liking the heroine. The hero and heroine get together early on in the book and agree they are mates.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

The hero left home because he didn't like the matriarchal society. A husband can't even speak to other people without his wife's permission. A woman proposed to him and he refused her and left the planet. His younger brother married her instead. That woman wants the hero as her 4th husband. She decides (along with his mother) to kill the heroine and then she will console the hero and make him her husband.

So the brother's wife and the hero's mom spend all this time making friends with the heroine. She is thrilled she can help her mate reconnect with his family. But it's all a trap.

They have the hero's brother dress like him and dump the heroine on a space station with a note that the hero doesn't want her anymore. The hero finds out and is very angry. He goes to get her back.

His mom and brother's wife go to prison. His brother also goes to prison but not as long since he refused to kill her.

Another fine Haven book!
General Lo’San seems like a quiet, reserved, efficient, and competent officer. All fine traits. But he’s been courting this human woman, Synclare, who isn’t getting his hints. These two! Communication really is important. That is a critical issue throughout this story. Lo’San and Synclare do make a splendid couple, though, and I really enjoyed their romance. It’s great to see familiar faces: Rokai, with his irrepressible personality is my favorite! I must say, there are a couple of new faces we see here that I’d really like to consign to a fearsome fate! They do get their just deserts.
Haven 4: Avow is exciting, romantic, alarming at times as danger threatens, with a highly satisfying ending. I love the promises of things to come. The stories in this world never fail to entertain!

Oh WOW!

oh my gosh! I truly love these aliens! I have to be honest I have waited patiently for this book and will patiently be waiting for the next! This is a wonderful series one I enjoy spending times in. I hope Be Ra too gets ..... his happy and oh my gosh Zahn! We all could see that coming after his meltdown of the word "no"! I laughed and cried a bit but though words so breathless and beautiful stories I just can't.....oh who am I kidding? I NEVER want to leave your stories! Thank you for allowing me to escape for awhile! I always come to you to take me away and what a journey this has been! oh I know you are contemplating more, and there a lot of characters that still have stories to be told. I am looking forward to seeing them in the future. your faithful and devoted reader. Me

A recap of everyone's lives on Command Warship1

*Slight Spoiler Alert*
I loved that Lo'San and Synclare didn't have a long drawn out courtship, they didn't fight their bond like so many other couples! I did think she was a bit naive when it came to his family, but she was so sweet and genuine in wanting to reunite them. Lo'San was so cute, how he felt about her and his seeming shyness. They had to overcome his cultural upbringing, which I think was very tightly ingrained in him, more so than he thought. I do hope to see this series branch off onto Eschina and tell the stories of some of the men there. I also liked the updates on some of the other couples from Command Warship 1. I look forward to the next book in the series, maybe there can even be a novella or full length covering Vivi and Quin in their new adventure...

Oh this was a good one

So much petty, catty intrigue! Definitely a fun read. Not funny,.well.except for Rokhai, he seriously reminds me of Maverick, but slightly less crazed. I think I really wanted to see more of a confrontation between Lo Shan and his family, maybe I needed more closure than the quick brush off they got.

Something that has me thinking is - how.old is Synclare? I can't say I remember her from.other books , but she is apparently passed her child bearing years so, like menopausal ? 50s? That honestly sounds .... Odd. I mean with every thing that happens in this book, I can't imagine her being that old. It just confused me and weirded me out. Anyways, I guess we have at least 2 more books in this series,.or 3 perhaps? Either way, don't be fooled by the cover of the writing style, it's a good series!

I couldn't put this book down. Synclare is General Lo'San's Ehlealah although on his home planet they don't use the Cruestaci term. They are immediately attracted to each other but it takes a little time for them to claim each other. Both have had family issues. While Synclare hopes to unite Lo'San with his family, she has no idea the lengths the females in his family (mother and sister-in-law) will go to get what they want. Non stop suspense and turns and twists. I really hate those females but good prevails over evil in the end.

*WARNING* contains adult content
Lo'San seems to be one of the calmer warriors. I like that he's different. It great to hear news of my old friend, Blue Dude. I love this series, but this story makes me a little sad. I feel like some of my friends are moving away.😥
This book is so worth reading, but so is the entire series. This book has action. It has hot alien warriors. It has strong human women. The writer infuses this entire series with so much emotion that you'll want to read more.

I adore this series! My only complaint is that I read too fast! Lo'San and Synclaire finally get their acts together after some cultural misunderstandings; which had me smacking my head a couple of times. His parents, her in-laws, cause some family drama but Lo'San sets them straight! I love seeing some past characters make an appearance and the storyline is growing! I can not wait for the next in the series!

One of the things I love about these books is all the characters are fully involved without taking away from the featured couple. This makes you know them and want the next story, which I was very pleased with. Lo'San and Synclare's story brings about changes for the whole crew and gave me all I needed to hope for many more books in this series. If you haven't read them all you can still fully enjoy this one, but why only read one really good book when there are 4

By far the best book I have read in this series. I have continued to believe that Ascend was the best and at the beginning I thought this was going to be quick and wondering how she was going to fill it all in. Oh my gosh, I believe this is my new favorite book. So many emotions to process but each of them was completely worth it! Thank you for such a great book and looking forward to more from the series!

His planet is different than most and you meet several family members and the twist and turns threw me for a loop. I love seeing old characters and can't wait to see the next chapter in the future.

Searching, I'm always on the lookout for a new read. What I had forgotten was suddenly found. The Haven series by Sandra Neely was a treasure that I had previously enjoyed. When I found Avow it was true "duh" moment for me. I rapidly returned remembering as the pages turned the characters I had grown to love. Sandra? I won't get lost again, and will await the next novel with glee.

Fantastic

I absolutely loved this adventure! A page turner from beginning to end. I wanted to strangle the bad guys and cheer on the H and h. I love the other stories that are around the main characters lives as well. So many possibilities for more loves and stories. And more mischief from Quins brother 😉😈

Excited

So excited to read future books for this series! I enjoyed Lo San and Synclare’s story. Lo SAN’s family was horrible. I hope Ba’ Re gets his act together. I hope that we continue to get the original characters that we have come to love in upcoming books. This was really good. Highly recommended!

Haven 4

Lo'San left his planet to get away from the stultifying matriarchal and multiple husbands society. He is a commander on his warship and is he can get Sinclare to claim him his life would be complete. Lo'San finally got Sinclare to see him as mate material but many difficulties ensued.

Love and adventure

Sandra Neeley’s story of love and adventure in the stars are wonderful. I cannot wait for Zhan’s story, but this one about General LoSan and Sinclair was good at keeping my interest. It had me on the edge of my seat as I read of the plans his mother made concerning Sinclair. Oh, my goodness, I can’t wait for the next book, I hope Ms. Newley writes faster.

Suspense and drama galore

Families really do create the most drama, especially estranged families. Lo'San's mother and sister in law were so clever and manipulate that I was almost worried about Synclair's happily ever after. I enjoyed that we got glimpses into the other characters that we've already met. It makes the world more real and peopled.

A REAL WINNER!!!

Do you love to hate a character so much that you have to put the book down to breathe? This one did it for me. I love learning more about the aliens and humans and how they are finding their way, new characters were introduced and new stories are waiting to be told. I cannot wait for the next story!!!

Boom

Absolutely love this series it gets deeper each story. This one is another explosive read, gotta start from the beginning to get the flow of the unfolding picture from book one to book four. The justice in this one was a little mild (was hoping the women did the wham bam kick butt). Thanks 🍸🍿👩🏾‍💻

Loved it!

Finding love in all the right places and times...that is until family sticks their nose in set to destroy. Hard choices and misunderstandings are swept away by love. If I say anymore it would spoil the fun of reading and living it with characters.

A MUST read

Mrs. Neeley did it again. A real edge of your seat book. I even cried at the end due to all the females Ascending to claim their destinies. I can't wait for the next book to see who would Ascend next as Mr. Neeley left it open for two new stories.

I love this series of Command Warship 1 General Lo’San

This story is a relief from of the other more violent incidents in history of prior stories in this series.
I enjoyed the suspense and twists.
