Thankfully I found this at my local library and did not spend $9 on this. I picked it up because it looks appealing. The cover is beautiful but the inside? Not so much...
I don't typically write reviews, but I felt the need to for this one. I felt that the author was judgmental and saying that there is only one right way to do something.
On page 87 there is a spelling error that is very obvious. "An excellent time to casr spells"....Come on. That stuck out to me immediately. Proofreading is important and I don't think it was proofread at all.
Also, how is this book called The Little Book of Spells but there are no spells until page 166? And the ones that are there are half as*ed. You could find better spells on pinterest. Actually the author may have found these basic spells on pinterest. Who knows?
I had the misfortune of making an impulsive purchase and not asking for a receipt. I really wish I did. I am thankful for the fact this book was only 9 bucks, but it’s still a waste of time and money. It says
it’s an introductory guide, and it says it’s a book of spells. But it’s not.
There are hardly any spells in it.
The book is confusing, poorly formatted and repetitive. This book could condense many of its disorganized chapters into a more organized collection of writings. This book looks like someone threw it together in a day.
There are these huge titles and only a single sentence of ‘information’ in a page! Horrible rip off.
It also is spreading horrible misinformation. It says you use blue candles for banishing, that you can’t work with any spirits accept archangels, and that once a candle has been used for something, it is completely useless.
I have learned my lesson - ALWAYS ask for a receipt. I did not think about thoroughly reading this book at barns and noble before I bought it and I severely regret it.
The one thing I would give this book credit for is the information on crystals and herbs. Those are definitely helpful to me, and so I will give it that.
I’m honestly thinking about using some DIY skills to make this book into a journal, but that’s it.
There was alooot of prejudice. Given it’s about witch craft the large amount of must do’s and must nots is incredibly inappropriate. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, beginner or otherwise. At least it was cheap.
It contains some missinformation to be honest (such as you can never reuse a candle and to only work with the archangels) but it still gave some cool Information about chakras(how to open&close them or induvidual crystals/herbs) alltogether pretty cute and nice for beginners. 3 stars out of 5 :)
