Unexpectedly, Abe finds herself thrust alone into the world after escaping too many years kept in stasis – her aristocratic mother’s notion of keeping her daughter safe and pure. Now grown up and with little experience, Abe finds the world mysterious and fascinating, but also confusing and challenging. Even more so when she takes a whack to her head and briefly loses her memory only to be found by Jericho, a Jinn warrior, who is inexplicably drawn by her.
All too soon, Jericho realizes he has plans for Abe and yet he is also at war with himself about snap decisions he’s making when it comes to this beautiful female - who dropped a bomb on him with her arrival in his life.
By a simple tilt to her chin, she dares him to deny what she wants when she wants it. Not used to handling a strong female who knows what she wants – throws Jericho off balance. A powerful Jinn, he’s not used to the way Abe pushes him at every turn. All too soon, he realizes that no way is she easily malleable and somewhat pliable – as he wrongly assumed.
Jericho learns fast that it isn’t about him, it’s about Abe, what she wants, how she wants it and to hell with the why. Sexual tension between them is irresistibly palpable. Jericho’s fantasies are all about him using his considerable skill to seduce her to his way of thinking so they can drop to the floor – any floor - and have raw sex. Yeah, he wants to work that angle.
Except, Abe is tested in ways never expected – evil and violence threaten her first taste of true freedom, bringing Jericho to a hard, infallible conclusion.
Will Abe succeed in a world she knows so very little about?
Can she cope with having Jericho Sullivan - her ideal Fantasy 101 male – so close and not give in to what her mind and body crave?
I think this is the start of a beautiful addiction.
I received an email from an author asking me to check out the blurb for Jericho to see if it might be something I’d like. Now, my reading and reviewing schedule is pretty damn full at the moment, but this book caught my attention from the blurb alone. I had to make time for it and I’m so bloody glad I did. Jericho is my favourite type of paranormal romance. We have big tough alpha males who struggle with emotions but can’t deny the attraction or devotion once their mates are in sight. We then have baddies that make your skin crawl and you love to hate. Add to that, we have an intelligent and funny heroine who has her own powers and they are AWESOME and you have got one hell of a good read.
Jericho is the King of the Jinn. One day he is overcome with a deep sense of purpose to go on a mission. He doesn’t know what the mission will involve and is uncertain exactly where he is heading. All he knows is that he HAS to go and go NOW. He feels a desperation he has never felt before and the closer he gets there the more his inner system goes haywire. There’s this smell that is taking over and he needs to find its source. When he eventually arrives and find an abandoned building with crumbling walls he’s at a loss to what he’s looking for…UNTIL…the earth moves. Well, not the earth, more the wall and what he finds under that wall nearly makes his heart stop. She’s beautiful, mesmerising and he’s going to keep her.
Abe wakes up with no memory in a strange house. Everything feels strange and off but she’s not sure who she is, why she’s there and if she’s safe. In leaving the bed and bedroom on a mission to find sustenance, she realises she’s in the land of giants. Well, they’re giants compared to her. This house is full of big and beautiful men but there is one in particular who seems familiar to her. He at first seems like he is attracted to her, but then his eyes start going cold. Abe feels even more lost and alone and with no memory, she isn’t sure what her next step should be. What happens next changes everything.
Jericho has been avoiding Abe because he never wanted a mate. He knows she will be too much of a distraction. When he finds out that a spiteful enemy by the name of Tess has her captive, he realises he hasn’t done his job of protecting the most important person in his life. If and when he gets her back, he is determined to let her know how important she is to him and vows to attach them in the mating ceremony.
This story is fast paced and very easy to read. There are steamy scenes when Jericho and Abe finally come together. They are not over the top but just proof that they have a strong bond. The additional characters were fun to meet and very different. We also get to meet different races besides the Jinn. While at times they come together in peace, there are evil vampires and demons that can plague them all. I did find towards the end that they story dragged a little, but it all had its purpose in the end.
Really enjoyed Jericho and I definitely plan to read the second story which involves one of Jericho’s warriors, Reno.

1 Spectacular World Building I have read about witches, werewolves, mermaids, shape shifters, vampires, elves so its difficult to be surprised. But in this book the author introduces us to The Jinn. She describes the mythology, the powers, the species beautifully without burying the reader under info dumps. The world draws you in, it manages to shock and delight without being overwhelming.
2 Abe I liked Abe, she was smart, funny, compassionate and defied Jericho at every turn. She has been locked in stasis but does not endlessly moan about it. She is focused the life she builds without letting anyone act as a shield.
3 Jericho I adored Jericho, he was the King of The Jinn and a fascinating character. As a king he was strategic and fair, respected by his warriors and his subjects. As a partner he was protective, possessive and Abe's happiness was his top priority. He had a hilarious companion who was a riot. No words are adequate to describe Sir
4 Bear This is the character that I absolutely loved. He was mysterious, protective and linked to Abe. His interactions with the other characters were really funny.
5 The Other Characters All of them were eccentric, added twists & kept the story unpredictable.
This book was like a decadent tiramisu, perfectly layered with complex characters, an unpredictable plot and great mythology.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review
Well..... this book was... ommmm... it was.... it was GREAT! it realy is a awesome read! i love the caracters and the story is awesomee as well. It has action, humor and heart. I absolutely love the fact that most every caracter was telling the storry in his ore here view, it was refreshing and you got to know and love all the caraters from the start. there are so many caracters that sometimes wen there are so many caracters in a book i tend to mix them up in the beginning before i can figure aout all the caracter individual caracters! it did so not happen in this book due to the awesome fact that the writer let all here caracters tell the tale at some point! verry enjoyable and just 5 stars for me!!!! :) SPOILER: Now this is my opinion and how i understod the book. well it starts of with this iritate and slightly pissed of guy, who turns out to be King of the Jinn. He is being summond, nobody ever summons Jinn because it is considerd very rude. so ofcourse he is not to happy right now. Well he and his man arrive at the pinpoint were the one who deared to summon the KING of the Jinn is, but there was noting but a cabin with a caved in wall. after a bit of a look around Jericho (king of the Jinn) finds a female who holds increadible unharnesed power but at the same time desguises here self so well the Jinn did not feel ore Register her presence at all. Jericho is instantly drawn to her and feels a deep bond/conection of some sort.after her rescue she does not remamber anithing but her Name wich is Abe. Every male including Jericho dont thinke the masculine Name fits the pretty blond with the sweet and happy personality. after a wile Abe gets kidnappet by one of Jarichos enamys. she manages to escape with some help from bear (who is one of my most favorite caracters!!!OMG i want one!!!!) It turns out Abe is a Prinsesse and..... Well i coult tell you eveithin and i would so enjoy to write it all down. but you are going to have to buy this book to know more! and Boy is there more!!!! i´ll so read it again for sure!!! SPOILER END: it is so great i can not wait to know more. I love all the caracters but my most favorite are Rad, Bear, Reno, Zulu, Conn, and so many more... i love them all!!!!!
“Abe was it for him. Just it. He didn’t want anyone else and didn’t know how to make it happen. His mind spun over possibilities and still seeing no way out – he couldn’t give up. He craved Abe – and only Abe – no one was going to tell him any different.”
In a world full of vampires and monsters there exist the Jinn Warriors, a tribe of beautiful, powerful men who seek out protection for their people. In the midst of these warriors stands the Jinn King- Jericho Sullivan. Although not human, he is perfectly male with his rippling muscles and those blue/purple eyes that would melt any woman’s heart. During one of his missions he is overwhelmed by an intense feeling that draws him to the petite frame of a beautiful woman. Abe Evergreen is taken away by Jericho and finds herself in a home surrounded by pure male eye candy. Unfortunately she doesn’t remember who she is or how she got there and with no memory of her past life, the only sense of security comes when she’s around Jericho. All she knows is him and the intense feeling she always has when she’s around him, luring her in. In the middle of their arduous relationship Abe finds herself being taken captive by Tess, an evil, nightmarish demon, who is intent on ruining Jericho. Jericho finds himself having to protect the woman he loves and having to fight demons and ancient laws to get her back. Nini Church’s world of vampires and demons comes to life in this story. The relationship between Jericho and Abe holds such sensual intensity it makes for a definite must read. Just by Nini Church’s description of the pure male eye candy that makes up the Jinn, makes me crave book 2 in the Jinn Cycle.
Ok this book was freaking awesome. It has to be my fav of 2017. Jericho is an addition. As the main character I have read to know more about him. Not to mention Abe, the heroine of this book is freaking awesome with some kickass powers. She was intelligent and hilarious which made you want more of her also.
This book materialized a beautiful world of the Jinn worriers. I've read about so many species witches, vamps, werewolves, shifters but draws you in and you love being in their world. Abe was spunky, smart and hilarious from a dark background. Jericho is king of the Jinn. In his world he is a well respected king by all species. His warriors would die or fight for their king. But their world changes we Abe comes into it. They describe as color coming into their black and white world. The journey of Annabelle and Jericho had so many twist and turns keeps you reading way past your bedtime. All the characters kept an unpredictable plot perfect in every way. This book is so worth reading. Can't wait to read the next book.
Loved the up and down of emotions the story inspired from heart stopping love scenes to frustration when Jericho and Abe couldn’t get their act together and make their love happen. Loved the twists and creative supernatural story line. Lots of different angles to go on with this new series can’t wait to see what is coming next. Definitely will be reading book 2 hopefully we won’t have to wait too long, “hint.. hint”
PS this was my first review of any book on Goodreads or any site so sorry such a short review in comparison to other reviews. Thanks for the opportunity and I would love to review future books.
Well, I was very happy with this book. Grabbed it on the spur of the moment and am very glad I did. Really loved it. Great characters, theres lots of them, but once you get into the story they all fit very nicely. I couldn't seem to put this book down and when I did, it was on my mind.
It was a bit slow at the beginning, but the rest of the book more than made up for that. Don't want to give it away - but what a HEA! Just loved it. Intentions are to read Book 2. I would recommend it to those who love paranormal romance.
The book was really good, great story, and characters. It wasn't as well written as I would have liked though. I had to go back and reread some things a couple times just to understand what was going on in that moment. There was also a lot of confusion in how some of the characters correlated in the book, like what was there role, were they human or otherworldly like the others, etc. Overall, it's a really good read, I just wish there wasn't as many places of confusion as there were.
Jericho is a Jinn who never wanted a mate, but then he meets Abe. He is drawn to her and will do anything to protect her. An interesting read, it was definitely a break from the usual vampires and werewolves in books today. There were a lot of characters, but once you knew who everyone was, the story moved well. I would recommend it.
Such sweet romance between Anabelle and Jericho. A strong heroine who doesn't dwell on the darkness of her past. An equally strong hero who will do anything for his Anabelle. Love this author's characterizations. I'm on to read the next in this series.
Busting with fantasy of both an erotic and of magical nature, Jericho truly bore originality! Jericho, the King Jinn, was a hard man set in his ways and the viewpoints of the world around him. Until one day he undeniably meet his match through an act of summoning. Abe, a woman without memory and in her unconscious state, was calling to Jericho in an aura that he had never sensed before. Once under the King Jinn's protection, intrigue and fascination became love and it bloomed quickly between Jericho and Abe. Yet, all is fair in love and war, and with that the trouble really began. Through their struggling battles, uncertainties and powerful and deadly forces arise to tear them apart. Yet, through each victory, their love had overcame the obstacles and only brought them closer. Making them a stronger force to be reckoned with in the end. Especially with Bear and the other Elite Jinn's around. Although points of the story transitioning through were a tad hard for me to grasp and were called for reading over, I found myself whisked through a good plot by an onslaught of well-written characters that contained a lot of depth and personality. The writing style is different from what I was used to and that had confused me the most while reading. It doesn't take away from the story what so ever, but some of the terminology used to describe certain groups presented in the book had me reading a few pages over, which took me longer than expected. Overall, this story of true love conquers all, had me scrolling through the pages. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next one!
"Jericho" was a delight! Fast-paced and easy to read with some nice twists, this paranormal romance kept me coming back for more. Jericho, a hot Jinn warrior, is a perfect blend of intensity and wry humor that carries through the whole book. His beautiful mystery girl, Abe, brings light and magic to an otherwise male-dominated world. I love their dynamic together; ooey-gooey heat that never felt forced--just pure sexy. Their love scenes popped and I and got so excited any time they were alone together. Jericho's team is made up of sweet, strong hotties who could all be leading men in their own right, and rounded out with a parade of baddies, this is a story not to be missed. Great romance, interesting use of supernatural, and a cool story-- I can't wait to read what happens next!
I am sorry to say that this book confused me too much to rate it any higher.
I was given a copy for review and decided to finish it in order to give my honest opinion. I think the reason it did not work for me was the fact that the storyline was too "out there". This is a fantasy read with some thrown in erotica.
There was a lot going on... A male jinn (super human) who is drawn to his "mate". A LOT of characters from vampires, to demons, to Gods, etc
Anyway, I don't want to ramble on. Ultimately, this should have worked for me, but I couldn't get in to it and it took me a long time to read. Hopefully, others will enjoy more and I thank the author for letting me give it a go. It was just not for me.
