Who the hell would have thought that the woman he hates with every breath is an identical twin? Not being able to let an opportunity go by, he sets a plan into motion. He’s going to get his hands on Rebel Montgomery one way or another. Even if he has to use her sister to do it.
But with the threat of war brewing and a web of betrayal spreading through his club, will he see the real Royal Montgomery? Or is she just another ploy to distract them?
***TRIGGER WARNING*** This is a dark romance, with mature themes and language, including violence, mention of sexual trauma, drugs, and the sex trade. This book also has some hot and steamy scenes, including a dominant alpha male with a proclivity towards spanking. If such things offend you, please do not read this book.
I live in New Brunswick, Canada with my husband and our two dogs, Remi and Sako (pronounced Say-co). When I’m not writing, I’m playing fetch with the dogs, talking to my parents for endless amounts of hours, annoying the crap out of my husband, or just enjoying life with my friends. Writing has been a part of my life since I was about 12. I started out just writing short stories or silly knock-offs of my favorite shows or movies. Soon, though, I realized just how much I loved to write. How often my mind would wander and think of characters and where they could go. They became real to me, and I would start to write. I used to fill up notebooks and pads of paper when I got an idea. It would be an obsession, almost, to get on paper. Then, when I was old enough to have a computer, I started there. Now, I’m 28 years old and I finally hit that button. The one that I’ve thought about it over and over again for the past 16 years. There is no greater joy, or fear, at realizing you’ve just accomplished something that you’ve wanted to do for so very long. That is my greatest accomplishment and I look forward to hitting that button on many more.
some authors abuse the term "strong woman". they make their heroine's "strength" so comically exaggerated and for show that it can only result in repulsing readers.
well, readers like me, who dont want a plot that circles around a female lead trying (too hard) to prove to a hero and his manly circle her resilience, strength and parity🤐.
at the expense of common sense, i have to add. she was beaten up badly and almost raped. what did she do? she kept insisting that she had to work the next day😅😅😅. she had to refuse professional help. she had to act like a "strong woman" would do.
she contradicted the hero at every turn and half the time it was just her picking up a fight for the sake of picking a fight😵. i was barely hanging by a thread because it was getting more and more ridiculous. she was insufferable🤕.
there was lots of slut-shaming. all the other women in the story seemed to exist to show how different the heroine was from all those legs-spreading, useless, lazy hoes😅.
yeah not all women are that great, especially in circles like this. it's not great though that the heroine had to be compared to them to look remotely passable. not really😅
overall, it was very boring and exasperating. the writing was amateurish, the characters were bland and not very fleshed out. the romance was lacking-no spark really. even when they fought. the heroine just seemed to be doing her chore of a strong, independent woman😅.
this book was a strange mix. the author obviously has a lot of pent-up internal misogyny. but she also tries to follow the trends, huh? badass female characters.
the end result is funny. misogyny dressed up in feminism is a clown costume🤷.
im no feminist when it comes to romance books. i am ok with misogyny in fiction. im ok with feminism in fiction and irl😅. not so when they're passed off as something else.
Royal Montgomery's life has been cleaning up the messes her twin sister Rebel makes. She swoops in, takes her identity and wipes her completely out leaving her to restart her life again. Royal once again must find a new job and finds her way to a bar owned by the Dragons MC. Royal has no clue that Rebel betrayed the MC and when she walks in they believe she is Rebel.
Atlas Savage is furious with a club whore who stole from their MC. She did more then that, but they want justice. When Royal walks in the door, he believes it is Rebel. He quickly realizes she is not Rebel but he wants her close in order to nab Rebel. What he doesn't expect is for his feelings to get involved and when Royal is attacked, Savage decides it is time to claim Royal as his own.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one. New to me author. A bit angsty especially with Royal and her temper. Overall highly entertaining.
This one was crazy from the get go. I felt really bad for Royal, her sister totally screwed her over, something you wouldn't think your identical twin would do. I don't know if she could have left her in a worse situation and what makes it so bad, was it wasn't the first time.
I really wasn't sure when Royal ended up with the club, there was history and bad history all due to Rebel. But this ended up being the best thing. Royal finally found people that would have her back, have friends, people that liked her for her, people that knew what a POS Rebel was. I liked that Savage gave Royal the benefit of the doubt at the start and then as he got to know Royal knew she was the real deal.
While things within the club imploded, it was nice that Savage and Royal had each other to lean on. While things got very messy towards the end, it was nice to see all the bad guys get what they deserved. Nice to see the club, Royal and Savage get to live their lives happy with the threat gone.
Royal and Atlas story! I'm soo happy that after so long I had a motorcycle club romance book that managed to keep my interest from start to finish! I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
This story started off interesting and pretty easy to read. but it did not last.
*It kind of felt rushed about halfway through so I lost interest and had to force myself to finish. *The urge for Savage to "claim" right after a near S.A. was unrealistic and did not improve my opinion of him. *Savage pushes himself on Royal the same as his brothers, but because she thinks he's attractive it was okay... yet Royal keeps saying she's not interested. It didn't read as an authentic push and pull between characters, just for the sake of a word count. *Rebel was awful for no reason, and we never got more clarification on why. *The mentioned parents are crap people.. and the evil twin bit was overdone in this book. *A bunch of things were rushed or just said instead of shown. *The dialog was TERRIBLE and cheesy! (ESPECIALLY the sexy times AND the threatening!!) For ex-military these MC brothers were pretty worthless.
I’m a sucker for a motorcycle club romance and some suspense, so this hit the spot. I thought it was a fun twist that Royal gets mistaken for her twin and all the chaos that ensued was fast paced. There was a lot that happened, and I flew through this one–definitely a mood read that I needed for the vibes!
I really enjoyed the story. It was predictable, but still loved it. I'm ready to read the next! I recommend this to everyone who likes good mix of bad boy bikers and a sweet love story.
What happens when you take 2 hard headed people and have them fall in love in a club? An epic love story! Filled with action this book is worth the read. I hope to get more of all the characters in the next one!
DNF @ 50%. The h was something else. Gets assaulted, concussion and bruised ribs, but insists on going back to her job as a bartender the very next day (would not be happening in real life). Fights with Savage over everything in a ridiculous manner. I got to the point where she leaves her apartment door unlocked after finding out her attackers are on the run, shoots at Savage when he enters her unlocked door, and then screams about his disregard for her safety. She was so annoying. There is strong but also having a reasonable sense of fear at her situation and who she’s dealing with. Like this dude backhanded you and was going to straight up shoot you when you first met. This is why I don’t do “strong” h’s.
And then there’s Savage. He’s totally lost control of his club with all the stealing and traitors. Let’s the club girls disrespect him, let’s the h disrespect him in front of EVERYONE that is within earshot of their conversations up to this point. He wasn’t the brightest but I actually liked him.
I’m a sucker for cute kids and I tried to stick around for Ronin but just lost patience with the h. This is my first read by this author and I liked her writing style so I’m going to try the next in the series.
Double the Trouble KU, 304 pgs ***** 9/9/23 Savage & Royal
5 star read. In the prologue, 2 years before Royal’s meeting the bikers of the Dragons MC, they had been looking for a girl named Rebel because she stole money from them. They went to where she was living and planned on killing her or making her pay dearly for stealing from them but she was long gone leaving a 2 year old child, beaten and starved, there in the apartment. Savage, the President of the club, took the toddler with them and said he would not let that baby go into the system.
Royal had a rough life being the identical twin of Rebel. Her sister hated her and pretended to be her all their lives because Rebel was just bad and downright evil. She would do horrible things and say it was Royal. This continued through high school, college and beyond. The story begins with Rebel stealing all of Royal’s money, telling her landlord she was moving out and preceded to take all of Royal’s belongings. She went to Royal’s boss and handed in her resignation effective immediately. This left Royal broke and homeless. Royal was desperate, so she walked into a bar that had a sign for a bartender and was sent over to a table of bikers to ask the owner for the job. Needless to say, the bikers grabbed Royal, thinking she was Rebel because Rebel had betrayed the club and disappeared. Royal has a backbone and doesn’t think twice about using it either. She doesn’t back down when confronted with anything she doesn’t like. I loved watching Savage & Royal come together, and watch Rebel bond with Ronin, her nephew. There is some action, some triggers if you have any, and I am loving every page of this book. This MC is a small group, not associated with a national club. They dabble in minor drugs and guns. Of course, there are enemy clubs and betrayers in their club which keeps it exciting. This was a great book that I could not put down. The sex scenes were well written and hot, character building was good, flow was near perfect, no filler pages at all. The epilogue was good and did wrap things up but of course, I want more! I hope there is more of Savage and Rebel in Twice the Treasure, book 2, up next! This will be a re-read for sure.
Well I finished it. I’m not sure why I did though as I hated Savage (WHAT’S HIS REAL NAME?) at the beginning, he did grow on me, slightly. He’s a total d*ck at the beginning of the book to Royal as her evil twin sister (🥱) Rebel stole of the Mc and abused her little boy. So when Royal goes into their bar he slaps her really hard, and threatens her with a gun in her face! Even after she’s proven that Rebel hated her and they have no contact he’s still vile to her!! After she’s attacked and beaten by one of the Mc brothers and he nearly r*ped her, Savage is looking at her naked body, and telling her that they will be having s*x! ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME??? 😡😡😡😡😡 For some bizarre reason Royal really likes Savage. He’s awful! His only redeeming feature is that he loves his son, who he took as his when he found him in Rebel’s apartment.
Then there’s Royal who starts off as a total doormat to her evil twin sister who keeps doing things to her and ruining her life. There are so many ways all of it was totally preventable!!! Go to the bank, show them evidence that you have a twin sister and get it logged, so she can’t steal all your money. 🙄🙄🙄 Royal starts off really timid and downtrodden, halfway through she’s really outspoken and can fight and shoot guns. 😂😂😂
Royal ‘meets’ Savage and his brothers when she goes into their bar for a job, as she’s penniless and homeless after Rebel ruined her life yet again. Savage thinks he can use Royal to catch her sister and she works as a bartender at his club and bar. Royal is seriously annoying throughout the book and acts like an idiot. After she’s attacked by one of the mc’s brothers and she has badly bruised ribs and a concussion, she’s working a day later. Yeah no she wouldn’t be! You can barely breathe with bruised ribs never mind about working in a bar! Soon they’re falling in love, how I don’t know and everything is great except for an evil Mc that starts a war with them.
Loads and loads of spelling mistakes, and ridiculous plots that don’t make any sense. It never really explains why her twin is so evil, or why she hates her so much.
A tiny part of the book is okay and I might try the second book.
Look, I'm all for nicknaming of the MC men (something normal in the MC books). Savage sounded like an ok name right? Wrong!! I couldn't help myself laughing each time she was screaming or pleading his name in the spicy scenes. That was funny, even though I'm pretty sure that was not the author's intention.
The plot was ok, I like the evil vs good twins (first book I read with this type of twins, usually twins are bffs, right?). The part with her parents and brother not being involved in their disputes was weird actually, I understand the evil twin was cunning and all but how couldn't they see anything was wrong with the twins relationship for so many years??
I was not a fan of the writing, I read some of her other books which were better when it comes to writing. I think this was one of her first books, so in my opinion some of her other series are better from this point of view (for e.g. Devil's soldiers MC series).
The overusing of the "wh@re" term and implications got on my nerves. I hope the next books in the series are a little bit more chill when it comes to the club women.
Overall it was an ok MC read, if you like this trope. The last scenes with the FMC throwing punches everywhere was a little bit over the top (considering she was already injured). Anyways, I'll continue reading the series.
!! Also check the trigger warnings (not sure if are listed somewhere). This is not a very dark book but there are some dark aspects here and there (which is normal for an MC read), like an almost r@p3 scene which was brutal/child abuse/violence.
Hmm this was interesting to say the least. I don't think I'll remember it at all except for the crazy evil twin trope tbh.
The MCs Savage and Royal were alright together. Typical chemistry/build up. Nothing special IMO. They had some cute moments. It was an interesting plot and honestly could have been better if by another author. Not to say this author didnt do a good job. But for someone who has read such a large variety of MC/Biker books it doesn't feel all that special in comparison to the great ones I've read.
It WAS a good/okay read. I actually loved the heroine Royal. She was pretty badass. I was pleasantly surprised by her attitude and spunk as the story unfolded. She was no wilting willow despite how the book opened and how she became a doormat for her batshit twin Rebel. Atleast she was aware of that weakness in herself though. I especially loved the shit she gave Savage. She never let up and that by far was the most entertaining parts of the book.
Overall it was almost a 3 star read but it was a little predictable in regards to the storyline/plot for me and the romance between Savage & Royal was decent but it wasn't exciting for me and I didn't feel any particular way about it or their HEA. I just expected it, ya know? Still not a bad read.
Have you ever had an idea for a story that you would really love to read but haven't ever heard of it anywhere? And then bam! You find it and it blows your socks off!
This is that story for me. The author does such a good job with this whole good twin, evil twin thing. The club she creates is rough and tough and those characters are interesting. The sisters start as total polar opposites at the beginning if the book, and while Royal is definitely not evil, we watch her grow from being a victim to being strong and powerful. The characters have wonderful chemistry and their interactions are great! I'm looking forward to more stories from this MC!
I've seen a few reviews that mention they think the way that Royal is constantly fighting with and yelling at Savage is obnoxious and weak of her. But I'd challenge those people to go through the horrible things that Royal does and not completely lose your sh!t! In my mind she is realistic and human. Her pain and fear is raw, and sometimes ugly, but that's real life! Also, the 2 star review that says the author made a mistake at the end of the book, they just need to go back and reread, there was nothing wrong with the story.
When Savage found Royal, he thought she was her sister--the woman who had stolen from and betrayed the club. She was going to get the treatment they didn't give women, until, one of the MC brothers knew how to tell them apart when she swore she wasn't the woman they thought. She wasn't. Her sister had done worse to her than the club.
As the club president, Savage had to determine what to do about her even if she wasn't the "bad" twin. How could he want her? She sure wasn't going to make it easy for him.
While the club learned her true nature and accepted her, they worked to find her sister who was looking for her as well. When they met and clashed with the club Royal's sister betrayed them to was working to take them on and more. War was in the making.
Great characters and story. Action and chemistry. This one will keep you reading and wondering from start to finish.
Freat Start to the finish. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
Other people have summarized the story. And it’s a good story. I like the H. I like the club and secondary characters. What I don’t like is the h. I think often authors try to write a strong h and fail. Yelling, screaming, sneaking, kicking the H, cursing constantly do not make you strong. They make you obnoxious and aggressive.
The h spends so much time arguing stupid issues. Back and forth for pages. It’s old and frustrating and I was forced to skim. I even skimmed the sex scenes (and she is a what? 25 year olds Virgin?) because she was so unpleasant.
The other issues I have are that there were 3 (including her twin) traitors in the club for 2 years. How aware are these guys? The club whores blatantly don’t listen. The h screams and argues with the H in front of the club. So much disrespect and he does nothing.
I’ll try the next to see how the series progresses. Hopefully there will be a better h and a slightly more alpha H.
So, the only reason for not going with 5 stars is the third-person POV. I don't like that, and it was sometimes hard to follow who was talking. The other thing was Savage... though I know he loved Royal, there were times I wanted to smack the domineering alphahole out of him. Don't get me wrong, I love me, a dominant alpha male, but he was just a bit much for me. especially with his... she'll have to deal with it attitude. Like I said, there were times I wanted to smack him. As for Royal, man, she was fierce. I loved her, and she did not back down from putting Savage in his place. She was definitely fierce and not in the way other authors try to make their heroines into women with backbone, but really are just shrill harpies. No, Royal had heart and courage and was strong and resilient. I really wish this author had first-person POV because I think I would have enjoyed her other books, and this POV really doesn't do it for me.
This was a good book, but just the number of mistakes the MC made was annoying. The premise was a good lead, but the ending left you wondering why they seemed like amateurs in their defense. Didn't care a great deal for Royal as she was annoying. The MC leaving the clubhouse unprotected grated on my nerves as they should have been more aware that was where the hit would take place. While I could understand how the Cross and Blink was able to betray them for so long, but once they figured that out they should have remained on high alert at all times. Instead you take all your best men and leave your hacker and a prospect behind to keep watch?. After Blink and Cross got away, no one thought to search for their escape route.. But these were ex military. Unbelievable. The story outside of that was ok.
Royal hasn’t had an easy life. You’d think having an identical twin would be fun, well you’d be wrong. Rebel has been nothing but awful to Royal her whole life, doing everything from stealing boyfriends to stealing her identity. Hence, why she’s homeless, has no money, and has an angry MC club ready to kill her.
Savage is out for revenge and when Royal walks into his bar, thinking it’s Rebel, he believes he has it. Finding out Royal is a twin is mind blowing, but finding out he’s attracted to her is something else all together.
I really loved this book. It was full of twists, turns, and steamy spankings. Royal is sassy and fierce, the perfect fit for Savage. I detested Rebel and what she did to everyone but she got what she deserved in the end. A must read!!
Being a president of a biker club is not all rises but being one with honor and rules to protect everyone is Savages principal. Royal and Rebel, twins, one nice and strong, one evil as all hell. Rebel steals from the club then Royal comes looking for a job, talk about mistaken identities. Savage not looking to believe Royal but having no choice when she offer proof gives her a job. Keeping her close so when Rebel shows up in town again. Instead Royal and SavGe have a connection neither can deny. Talk about leaders coming together! One thing about this book if you don’t like the word whore as in reference to women do not read it, pass it by. Still a great book!
Well, I loved all the other books from this author and I really like her but this one is not my thing… too crude. I’m not a prude but a virgin heroine who knows nothing about MC life, the president falls in love with her but she has to live constantly with all the women who has fucked him like sex means nothing… too much for me, I’m too old for that! Honestly the “ we fucked, had fun and move on” it’s getting old for me… But you should read the other books from this author! The Ink serie is much better… so good!
PS: Please, don’t give Harlow a book… I’m tired of the club whore become an old lady… please, I’m that bad, yes, but I will not give another book like that a try, I did and really hated it!

...my first read by Emily Rose and I'm excited to read more! This is Savage and Royals story and you can tell from the blurb that Royal gets mistaken for her sister - and it could have deadly consequently!!
It starts very viciously, I'm not going to lie - Royal gets backhanded, and I thought 😬 I don't think I'll like these guys!.... But there is far more than what I originally thought and I now like the guys very much so!!
Savage lives up to his name, however he's also a good man. He will go to the ends of the earth for his brothers and yes, there's danger but overall, these are good people.
Royal may seem as a timid good girl, innocent and although she's nothing like her spiteful sister, she still has a backbone and it's not long before she shows it...
Double Trouble is about a girl who gets caught up with an m by accident when her identical twin sister does both her and the MC wrong and the MC means to exact revenge, but on the wrong twin.
This was my first book by this author and I actually ended up really enjoying it. The writing seemed a bit rough at first, but then settled in nicely. Good storyline, MC drama heavy, along with the OW drama that comes with it. The sister was a bit OTT evil, but 🤷🏻♀️. Still enjoyed it. Will be looking at subsequent books in the series to pick out favorite tropes to read. Maybe not every book, but will definitely be reading more!
This is the first in a new series, and this is Savage and Royal’s story. Royal is one of identical twins, and she is betrayed by her sister Rebel, when she pretends to be Royal, steals her things, quits her job, and just makes her life in general hell. When Royal goes into a bar, Savage the president of the MC is determined that she will pay for stealing off them. Luckily one of the members knows how to tell Royal and Rebel apart. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and intriguing, with betrayal, danger, suspense, family, loyalty, violence, twists, acceptance, and love, which leads to an unpredictable, and steamy page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
