Have you ever seen a unicorn wear a tutu!?!? This hilarious story is about a little girl that overhears her friend say, NEVER LET A UNICORN WEAR A TUTU! Unfortunately, she didn't have a chance to ask why. Now she has a fantastic tutu for her UNICORN and she is not sure what to do!
Thank you for the ARC. As usual, the art was bright and colorful and full of life. It also had a cute message that it’s more fun to experience life with another.
This is a cute book about a little girl who let a unicorn wear a tutu. The author builds the story by each advent that happens. Then ends it with a cute what friends do for each other ideal.

I read all five in a row and I absolutely love the little girl's imagination and how she brings her unicorn to life while sharing chaotic adventures together!
Put a goofy grin on my face.
I received a complimentary copy of these ebooks. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Oh,my! This was so wonderful. It reminded me of my grandkids, including my grandson. He's ALL boy, BUT he MUST be included too. No tutu is too colorful or bow to sparkly.
What I loved was the inclusion, the adventure, and realizing the unicorn was her stuffed animal, so the imagination. The colors were vibrant, and placing them on white just made them pop more. Brilliant.
I'm buying this for both sets of grandkids. It's a must-have, especially for the unicorn lovers and rainbow's-my-favorite-color youths in the family. So adorable and positive!
Absolutely adorable little book. Definitely written for the little girly reader. This book has all the sparkles! The star of our story was warned not to let her unicorn wear a tutu, however, she forgot to ask why. Whoops! So, dressed in the cutest tutu, her unicorn takes off through the house to find matching, shoes, hair bows and jewelry. She even had cupcakes to highlight the occasion. But something made unicorn sad even though she was stunningly dressed. Well, you'll have to read the story to find out how it ended but it was definitely an adorable twist on the old adage, misery loves company. I would add this book to my classroom shelf for all the little girlies ages 3-6 years old.
Here is a whimsical and fun story about a Unicorn who wants to be pretty. The story is pure fun and colorful llustrations are comical and between the two it makes a terrific book to listen to or read for any age that likes a Unicorn who wears a tutu. The Little Girl loves unicorns in this cute story. What could go wrong, if she let her have a tutu. Unicorn was so happy that she danced, twirled, and pranced! It was great to see her so happy! Then...she took off running. Wonder where she went? You get to listen or read and find out.
I received an electronic copy from SOURCEBOOKS Kids through NetGalley. This series is delightful for preschool and early elementary level readers. We get to see this girl share a tutu with her unicorn even though she was warned not to. The unicorn is delighted and the energy level stays high as they both add accessories of all sorts. Finally, she realizes the last piece needed and both have an amazing day together. Adler captures the energy and lively atmosphere in her artwork. This pulls readers in to dance too.
I believe this is my favorite of the unicorn books I’ve read so far! The illustrations are colorful and bright, as always, but the most beautiful part of this book is the message about endearing friendships. I would highly recommend it to everyone, and I can’t wait to buy this one for my granddaughter.
(DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this title from NetGalley. All opinions expressed are entirely my own).
My niece ( age 5) really enjoyed when the unicorn was throwing the cupcakes. She also loved the end when they were both wearing tutus at the end. She thought it was very nice of the little girl to cheer up the unicorn by putting on the tutu to be twins.
I think this is a great book to teach kids compassion for others and recognize feelings.
All kids books are read to her and she does the reviews by asking her questions.
"I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own." I love unicorns so i'm always drawn in by a children's book featuring my favorite animal. This has good illustrations. There are consequences for actions so I wouldn't call it twaddle or negative. This one seemed to derail into side quests like the if you give a mouse a cookie books.
I would like to thank Sourcebooks Kids/ Sourcebooks Wonderland and NetGalley for a free eARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.
This is a good one in the Funny Unicorn series. It is a great book to show a child how sharing is a great thing and how it can enhance your own experience when you share it with someone else. It is a good story about friendship and sharing and imagination!
The little girl was cautioned not to let her unicorn wear a tutu. And, so, the unicorn wears not only a tutu, but hair bows and jewelry and shoes. There are even cupcakes for a party. But unicorn is sad. What could be the problem? It is up to our little girl to solve the problem and she does it in creative ways.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and Sourcebooks Wonderland, in exchange for a review.
Never let a unicorn wear a tutu is a fun little story about a girl and her unicorn. When her unicorn gets a tutu she quickly realizes she needs to accessorize! At first the girl doesn’t like unicorn touching all her things, but then she realizes how much fun they can have together.
Alber Assignment #8 Another Never Let a book and this one well the title tells the tale - although the reason is not what you might expect, but then again if you have any expectations why a unicorn should not wear a tutu apart from well they are not real, then you may be a total nutter. Anyway some kids will love it and some will run in the other direction wailing blue murder!
This is such a fun story! A girl overhears her friend say to never let a unicorn wear a tutu! When she gives her unicorn a tutu, chaos ensues. At the end of the story, she figures out the heartwarming reason you should never let a unicorn wear a tutu. My daughter loves this book so much. The illustrations fit the story so well!
This is an absolutely delightful book. The author - Diane Alber - not only wrote this wonderful book but she also did all the illustrations.
I absolutlely must get a tutu now. This book is so joyful that of course one wants to emulate the characters in the book. And then of course there has to be jewelry - and boots - and ............. cupcakes.
Loved reading this book. Gave great places for inflections. I did such a great job reading it i need to find a place to read it for someone’s other than my dogs. They do not appreciate dramatic readings.
But really fun story and love the emphasis on inclusion of others
A little girl wants to surprise her Unicorn with a rainbow tutu! But once you give a unicorn a tutu, they will then want all the sparkles, bows, and jewelry - but will need someone to be fancy with her. This is a charming addition to an adorable series that showcases the power of friendship and the joy of shared interests.
Modern fantasy Pre-K - 3rd grade reading level I think I love this series of books. I loved how the unicorn was trying to involve the little girl in everything that the unicorn had. And the little girl had taken the time to figure out why the unicorn was sad and fixed it by being twins with her unicorn. This is such a good book for younger girls and has a good message too.
See why it is important NOT let a Unicorn where a tutu, unless... What a fun quick read, your child will love it, but be prepared, you may be asked to read it over, and over again.
This story about a girl and her unicorn is very fun and colorful balanced well with black and white. Can’t wait to read more about things we should never let a unicorn do.
Beautiful lesson. It is ok to not “obey” some social norms. It’s ok to wear a tutu. I love the mission it presents and the illustrations are beautiful plus it’s unicorns 🦄 tutus and cupcakes 🧁 which is perfection!
I’m not sure whether I enjoyed reading this book to my daughter more because of her reactions, or if she enjoyed being read to more. This was the most fun book. Diane Alber is definitely a gifted children’s author.
