Fate’s Fools #9

Thieves of Fate

Rate this book
Once an Ultiori Elite, Benedetta’s psyche crumbled under the corrupting mind control inflicted on her by her evil master. She begged for release by the immortal dragon who loved her, and her death in his cleansing fire severed their bond forever.

But a new force in the world has resurrected Benedetta’s essence from the ashes left behind. Life magic has blended with fire and reached back through the Bloodline, lighting a spark from the Ashes and calling to a soul that never really perished.

On the verge of life once more and free from the bond to her old immortal lover, her lonely soul cries out for a mate, but who can fill the void left by the Void himself? Who can finally resurrect her?

A trio of Shadow dragons, that’s who.

Ophelia Bell is the author of the super steamy Sleeping Dragons series. Ophelia loves hot alpha heroes, especially if they’re dragons, but believes the world needs more alpha heroines, so has made it her mission to make that happen. Ophelia grew up on a rural farm in North Carolina and now lives in Los Angeles with her sexy tattooed alpha husband and five-and-a-half attention-whoring cats (one of them is exceptionally large and might actually be a dragon in disguise).

This series was W!O!W! right from the start and this book, Thieves of Fate, was no exception. Even though it could be read as a standalone, if you haven't read the previous books, I suggest you start at the beginning ... Heck, start with Deva's Song for that matter - just trust me, it will be so much more fullfilling.

Alrighty, that said, let me get back to this gem of a book. Three male shadow dragon shifters (Razik, Errol and Salem) know they want to be together but they also know they need a fourth to complete them. Enter Benedetta (in the form of a ghost no less) who is trapped in a glass bauble hanging from the tree of life. Sound interesting? Heck Yeah it is! To get to Benedetta entails some creativity on the part of the dragons and not to mention cunning as there are others who do not want Benedetta to be "set free". The story is obviously PNR - hello...dragon shifters and is written from a multiple POV. It is filled with loads of action in all forms (MM & MF included) and certainly had me panting. Thieves of Fate is imaginative, contains characters from previous books in the series (but again, CAN be read as a standalone without a person getting "lost") and is just one of those books that was an 'easy read' from start to finish - it definitely held my interest.

The characters are all strong and the writing on-point! I can truthfully state that there is only one draw-back for me when it comes to this book and that was hearing that this would most likely be the end of the series.

I recommend this book to any and all who are over 18yrs and enjoy steamy paranormal romances.

Thieves of Fate book 9 in FF series by Ophelia Bell
Benedetta is a Ultiori Elite but been under Meri control which destroyed her but what makes everything worse is that after everything that happened with Meri, the Void released her too and she finally at peace but now everything is settling down and new magic coming into world Benedetta is resurrected. Salem Errol and Razik return to civilisation at St George School to try start a new life but as soon as they get there they feel another present with them especially when they are being intimate with each other.
I will be honest I struggled to get into this at beginning but the story does develop well and such you in.
Can not beat Ophelia Bell for paranormal romance with all the saucy bells and whistles. I will be honest I was looking forward to more Deva and her guys

¡Fate at risk!

Razik, Errol, and Salem were united as dragons’ guardians on this island. They were attracted to one bizarre tree; something was special about it and they didn’t know what it was. Past was coming to them, and their legacy could not be denied. Magic and shadow planes mixed, and this trio should discover what it was. Just accompany them during this journey since love and fate were at risk too.

Ophelia Bell presented a new installment of this series uniting three good-bad dragons with one strong special female player, where memories, craziness, fears, heritage, and dark steamy love twisted and turned every corner of this plot amazingly. ¡A must-read book that pulls you in and never lets you go!

This is a beautiful addition to the immortals world.
Benedetta is trapped. A half life with no idea what has happened, she remembers her death. And all the horrors she was forced to commit, but also the cleansing fire that took it all from her.
Razik, Salem, Errol have only just met but their focus having seen the shadow of Benedetta means they are meant to be.
A captivating plot that kept me engrossed.
Well written and detailed characters. The supporting cast links this story to the world with finesse and ease.
A great book i thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

I have not read all the other books in the Fate's Fools series by Ophelia Bell, but I've read a couple and they can be read as stand alones. This was a fast paced, action packed, steamy adventure. Razik, Errol and Salem are dragon shifters looking for their mate to complete them. They find Benedetta, a ghost trapped in a glass ball hanging from the tree of life. I like that all 4 main characters have a POV in this book and there are many, many steamy scenes, MM, MMF, MF, MMFM, you name it, it might be there. Steamy PN read.

The world building in this novel was well done and very original. Each characterization was top notch with the 3 leading men being very distinct individuals. Their chemistry between the four characters was very sizzling hot. The storyline had everything needed to keep you turning pages; such as, hot strong males, a strong heroine, steamy scenes, thrilling suspense and mystery. A beautifully written story delivered in a way that will make your heart melt. Looking forward to the next tasty installment.

A beautiful story that brings new characters and several characters from previous series. Benedetta is trapped in her world of ash. She knows how she died and knows it had to happen. Her past made her a dangerous person but now there has been a change. Three shadow dragons have come to the island / school to help with security. But one beautiful and magical tree made of metal and glass will bring there own change. The story gets quite hot and with these dragons anything can happen. Expect plenty of hot scenes both m/m, m/f and rh.

This is a wonderful story. It was interesting that Benedetta did not die but is like the Phoenix coming out of the ashes to be born again. The shadow dragons made the story so much more interesting. I really enjoyed this story and the way it was written was amazing. This is not my usual story but this was well worth it. Now I just need to fill in with some of the other stories. This was just an amazing journey.

I dove right in this book without reading any of the previous ones in this series. Not a very good idea. Because of that, I'm missing information about the whole world build-up and about the other characters. The description of the world is very good, I could see myself standing in the middle of it. The scenes between the men to replenish their energy are hot, and at the same time loving and respectful, very well written ! A very good read. Now I'm definately going to read the rest of the series !

This is the ninth book in the Fates Fool series. Though a standalone it is bet enjoyed in sequence. The three dragon shifter Razil, Errol and Salem are looking for a fourth person to complete their harem and they run into Benedetta who is trapped in a bauble. The have to find a way to rescue her. Their chemistry is off the charts and there is enough action to have you hooked to the very last sizzling page. Loved it.

Great Story! I really enjoyed reading this story about Benedetta and her “rescue” from the obscurity of being a “ghost” somehow trapped in a glass globe hanging in the tree of life that was fashioned by chimera April and her bevy of mates. There’s lots of steamy romance in the plot line along with a bit of action and adventure when three shadow dragons decide they must steal her glass prison… I received a free review copy of this story via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I didn't know this was book nine of a series but it was pretty easy to read as a stand alone. I wasn't expecting 3 male Shadow Dragons to "replenish" each other, so that was something new. Ophelia has more of a show instead of tell writing style which can be shocking at times but makes the story that much better.

Reborn in Flame

Three dragon males and a ...ghost? This book was equal parts spicy and emotional, sort of a sweet-heat redemption story. Plenty of MM action in addition to the reverse harem interactions, which is definitely my jam. I haven’t read any of the other stories in this series and I still really enjoyed this story, I can only imagine someone who’s read the other stories in this series will LOVE this one.

Benedetta is trapped in an ornamental glass globe on a tree. Razik, Errol, and Salem want to free their little ghost, but she was a big bad in a previous life. Opinions differ regarding her release, and things get a little heated. Anxiety and suspense will keep you riveted to the very end. This is an amazing story.

Ophelia Bell hits ALL the sweet spots with her steamy tale of shadow dragons finding their unexpected mate. She is a master of description, as the relationships of all members of this reverse harem heat up.

The intensity of these members is only surpassed by the mysterious unveiling of the dragons’ mate.

I believe this is one if the best reverse harem stories I have ever read!

This book seemed to be shorter than others in the series. However, it does not effect the quality of the story. There is just as much passion and steam as in her other books. The story is moving and the characters are outstanding.

Benedetta met her match times three in the deliciously sexy forms of Salem, Razik, and Errol. This series never fails to entertain, as the author has done a wonderful job creating a world of distinctive characters that are nuanced and unique. A relatively quick read that will entertain from start to finish.

It is a great story when you feel like part of the family.

Those fate hounds are at it again. And this may be the strangest set of mates yet. As you read Ophelia's books you become part of the world she creates. And each time these stories reach their ends I hope there will be another so I can visit more with my book family. Keep up the great work Ophelia.

This is the ninth book in the Fate's Fools series. It's a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you engaged from start to finish.
This is a story about a woman (h) who is trapped in a globe and the three men (H) who are arguing about the best way to release her from said globe.
Read to find out what happens.

Only 4 stars because I was confused about the world and the often mentioned past- I thought stand alone means you don´t need prior knowledge.
Apart of that, it was a very gripping story with a lot of heat.
