Another amazing story on the Gold Coast Retrievers ( therapy dogs). Hawk was the nick name of a young woman who changed her career as a model into that of a firefighter. Dave another firefighter was jealous of the fact that she got the job ahead of his brother. Instead of accepting that and moving on he decided to start some fires and she was severely burned in one and he let it go as her punishment for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Firefighter Nicole Hawk meets the challenge of her young lifetime. Will the love of a Golden puppy and the police department's newest Detective be enough to save her? This was beautifully written story of the terror of being horribly injured in a fire and the long and difficult road to recovery. It has been a pleasure to read this series and get to meet so many authors I hadn't been exposed to yet. Each book in this series has been written by a different author and they all have been great! Ladies, you rock!
I could have liked this book a lot better, but the author kept bringing up the show Blue Bloods. That's a tv show about the angelic family of cops in New York who never do anything wrong. I actually watched that show for about a year, while simultaneously watching videos on YouTube of New York cops beating and killing people. They even have the token black man lying about the cops hurting people, when in real life they really do. Disgusting.
I have to rate this just 3 stars as the number of errors in the book detracted from my enjoyment of the story. I did also figure out who was setting the fires about half way through.
This was a good book about fires and burn victims and of course the dogs. The characters in this story were very interesting. The love stories were very interesting and this story was good from start to finish. CMcCrork
