USA Today Bestselling Author

Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, even as a little girl. When I was a toddler, my parents would read stories to me over and over. I would hear them so often that I had the books memorized and could recite the story word by word.

My favorite genres are fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary romance. So of course that's what I'm inclined to write.

I have a husband, two young daughters, and a mini Australian Shepherd. I've lived in Tennessee the majority of my life and love the state.

I'm extremely addicted to caffeine and enjoy drinking coffee and lattes.

Eh..too much HS drama

So I wanted to like this book. I liked the blurb, I liked the premise, it just fell flat. I didn't think the characters were sincere and their chemistry was non existent after they got together. I thought that Emma is incredibly naive and trusting, especially with her background. The drama was eye rolling and petty. I think the thing that annoyed me the most though was that Emma is supposed to be alpha, but she takes no leadership until the end where she acts like she knows what she's doing but doesn't. She constantly needs saved.
I doubt I continue on, which is a shame because some of this other authors books are great.

Am I missing something

I’m confused why this book has such a high rating. It’s poorly written, the plot is predictable yet messy at the same time.the characters have a zero likability factor. I mean who am I rooting for? The author tries but is unable to make you feel connected to any of the characters. It’s choppy and hard to read at times. I found everyone to be incredibly annoying.

I cannot begin to describe to you how absolutely bored out of my mind I was while listening to this book. It started off fine and seemed like it would get better but it just got worse. Everyone is unlikable. One love interest basically blackmails her through his dad and her family to get with him and stay with him (all the while pressuring her to get in his bed). The other one turns out to be a bully after they meet up again a few years down the line. The author never successfully redeemed him in my eyes. The heroine was very much a naive doormat for 80% of the book. It changed out of nowhere by the end and it didn't seem natural in her "evolution". The chemistry was nowhere in sight.

I don't know how many books by this author that I've fully read or picked up and DNFed by this point but I'm starting to understand that her books just don't work for me. For the most part, they are usually lukewarm to me so this is probably where I stop trying. One thing this author does extremely well though? Her covers! They are fantastic! Probably the reason why I want to like these books so much because they would look SO DAMNED GOOD on a shelf ♡

OMG!!! Loved this!!

World build was easy to follow. Clear lines as far as pack laws, and pack friends and foes were clear from the get go. Grey easily meshed in new characters and paranormals to the the read. Very interesting world!

Storyline is unique! We have a hybrid situation which I love! There are plenty of surprises where Emma is concerned and I loved them all. What puts this over the edge for me is the drama between Emma and Aidan. Granted it is hard to not dislike Aidan in the beginning but he quickly makes up for it in more ways than one.

Loved Emma! She seems to be headed to bad-ass level. Aidan is extremely hot and protective...I mean those are two things that just can not go wrong!

Strong start to a new series! Bring me more!

Happy reading,
DD 💕

Choosen or cursed by faith

A decent first book of the series. I wanted to give it 3.5 stars, but the story moved a little too slow for me. Then, in other parts, some of the book felt a bit rushed.

Aiden and Emma are fated mates, but at the point of realisation, Aiden made the decision to dissappear from her life for her own protection. Now, four years later, they are reunited. Has fate given them a second chance or an extra twist of a knife. However, Emma's destiny is bigger than Aiden could ever imagine. What choice will he make this time?

One of the things I really did not like about this book was that Emma is very much inspired from the second Twilight book Eclipse. Where the main characters are separated and it is agony gor them. No matter what they do and who they are with. Another thing I did not like was Emma seems to hate she is treated by a character but is very forgiving or even loves it when Aiden acts the same way to her. Maybe that is the point of being fated? I just don't like it.

I did like the side characters of this book a lot more than the main characters. I hope that they get a lot more time in the other books. I think many of them have very interesting stories to tell.

I could not finish this book. I got about halfway but it was too flat for me. The plot of the storyline is decent but I think I’m done with Jen L Grey books. This is my third series I’ve attempted and have only been able to get through one. I feel her writing can be choppy and the characters are flat and not authentic in their personality. One minute they think/do something and the next, it’s a complete change of character. If it happened once, I could understand but it happens multiple times to the same characters within pages. I do think this author creates some great plot lines, I just wish the characters were better.

Nothing much happened. Her fated mate left her, she gave in and started dating a guy she doesn't like all that much, and she feels smothered by him. Her friends kept telling her she was really strong, but I didn't see that. She finally dumped him. Now it's more high school drama- kissing in the halls, lots of trash talking with no action. And why is she dating the mate if he is still not telling her what is going on? I'm not impressed with this girl.

Shifters and witches!? Yes please! This  entertaining series will grab your face and won't let go! There are some very heart melting moments and some very intense scenes that makes this absolutely unputdownable!

Emma is very intriguing. Her past was tragic and the perfect set up for some paranormal themes to shine through. Before she was even born, some very shady things were happening. She has a very good heart and that's reflected in her relationship with Jacob. Major things are happening and she's discovering her place amidst it all.

Aidan was really frustrating at first. Would he gives in to fate or staunchly keep those blinders in place? He makes you melt once he gives in and becomes total book boyfriend material! He's the perfect broody male alpha and some of his thoughts and feelings about/towards Emma are these intense things that drive the plot. Absolutely delightful and delicious!

If you crave a good lovers to enemies to lovers again, where the hero fights his duty to save his woman, and scenes that will have you sighing in the best of ways, one-click this beauty today! I can't wait to see where this series will take us!

It's more of a me thing than the book thing. This story was set in college, but felt more like high school. I had it playing while I was working in the garden and too busy to turn it off or change to another book, so I did get to listen to the entire story. The storytelling wasn't bad, but very immature YA/NA settings are hard for me to warm up to, and I never truly did with this story. This ended with more books to follow to finish the tale, and I'm not enjoying this enough to finish them to find out where these characters go from here.

DNF, I don’t mind angsty story, I welcome it, but the forced angst, angst with all the plot holes that add nothing to the story, I just can’t.

So our main female character, Emma is adopted into the Rogers pack. She and Aiden are childhood sweethearts, Aiden is from the rival pack so they meet up in secret until one day on Emma‘s 14th birthday Aiden is giving her a necklace as a gift but notices a mark on the back of her neck apparently this is an enemy mark and with no explanation or anything he leaves and that’s that.

Then they run into each other again in college, and Emma is with Jacob whose the Alpha’s son of the Rogers pack, Jacob knows that Emma doesn’t like him like that and doesn’t want to be with him, but he uses her sense of obligation to her parents and the pack. She doesn’t wanna upset them, wants to please everybody so she just goes along to get along and the whole thing is just so cringe, Jacob just gave me the Ick.

From then on it’s just more ick between Emma and Jacob, Beth the roommate is thrown into the story and some other characters who didn’t add much to the story.

I think the author was going for this longing tortured love story but the interactions with Emma and Aiden just felt flat and no chemistry between them. The drama was just ridiculous and nonsensical.

Can't get over Jacobs treatment

This was a ok read. The storyline is intriguing, and I love fated mate books. And with that all being said I just felt so bad for jacob. I realize he wasn't her fated mate, and although the author did try to paint him in a unflattering light. That concept didn't stick. Jacob was a sweetheart, possessive? Yes. In love? Totally. He was so disgustingly smitten with the H that is was hard to watch when he finally realized the truth. Or more like when the truth was shoved in his face. does he end up doing some douche bag stuff like say she has to choose her pack or her mate. yes, he sure did! But honestly who can blame the guy for hurting so bad a freaking lashing out? 4 years of loving her, two years of dating and making the H His entire world? That was harsh even to me to watch as his whole world burn to ash like nothing. And reading it had really bothered me. I understand that they just weren't meant to be. But the way this all played out made our H seem kinda like a cold hearted witch.

Moon Kissed is the first book in Jen L Grey's new series, The Marked Wolf. It is told in dual perspectives (Emma and Aiden's) which gives the reader a chance to truly understand and appreciate the struggles and love these two have for each other. The issue of their individual packs being enemies is just a catalyst to heartbreak, secrets, and unanswered questions.

Emma finally decides to do something for herself after years of being the perfect daughter, girlfriend and pack mate. By going away to college, Emma hopes to find freedom and happiness that she hadn't had since Aiden disappeared from her life at 12. From the moment she gets to campus, Emma feels as if she is being watched. Add in the fact that the one boy or rather man now that broke her heart years ago attending the same school and you have a start to a drama filled, angst ridden, and second chance at love romance.

Secrets have an opportunity to come to light when the truth unfolds. What would you be willing to do or sacrifice for love? Read to find out how Emma and Aiden handle secrets, lies, pack laws, curses, and love. Expect wolves, witches, action, chemistry and unbreakable bonds.

Moon Kissed is book one of The Marked Wolf series of urban fantasies.

Emma is a she-wolf shifter who fell in love at the age of fourteen only to have her heart broken. Four years later she re-meets the boy that she never forgot ,at collage. However, now she's with the son of her Alpha shifter pack.

Aiden was all for declaring his love for Emma, when he'd seen a birthmark on her neck. That night, four years ago, he vowed to protect her by leaving. Now he's found her again and truth be told, he can't carry out the orders from his own pack and he can no longer deny that he wants Emma in his life.

I really like the cover of this book, the girl has a fierceness about her that intrigued me. I also liked the book blurb and the premise of the story. In fact there is a good storyline here but it is struggling to stand out. I would like to have seen lots more character depth, particularly for Emma and Aiden; neither really lived up to my expectations and Emma just wasn't strong enough to be the leader of any group in the future. I actually preferred Emma's roommate Beth. There were too many distractions with the dated love triangle scenario and character patterns that became repetitive. It's a shame as with a few changes this could have been a winning storyline.

So this was a really good one from Jen again. I love all her books. For some reason, most of them are all rereadable and are all interesting and fun. I have like most of her books on my bookshelves.

This was the only series by her that I hadn’t finished so I decided to get to it.

Emma is a very flawed character, as in the fact that she’s brave but also knows when to stand her ground. She’s also dreamy and wants nothing more than to live her own life with her fated mate Aiden.

The plot is basically Emma discovering she’s a half wolf and witch hybrid and is part of a prophecy where witches will come together. And she’s the leader of them all. She also breaks up with her boyfriend and discovers that her two packs have a rivalry with each other.

The book ends on a cliffhanger, but I can’t wait to get to the next book. Can’t believe I finished another book.

What more do you need with wolf shifters, witches, hybrids, and true mates! Emma and Aiden have the lovers- enemies- lovers thing going and it took them a minute to figure it out. Eventually you can't hell but love Aiden and how he stands up for what he wants and knows that he needs Emma. 🥰 Jacob makes for a interesting plot twist though and I can't help but wonder what will be brought up later. This is a great start to a new series!

I read a ARC of this book and am leaving my honest opinion in this review. 😊

Romance. Suspense. Dumb boys and Alpha men. A badass female lead. Check them all off! The setting was well played out. The friends and side characters melded into the story so well. I loved watching the FMC grow throughout the book from meek to a boss! The twists and turns of the plot kept me hooked throughout the whole story. For a first in series, it was everything I needed, and I cant wait for the next book to drop!

I don't think I'm the intended audience for this book, I think it's a YA book, and if I were still a teen I reckon I would have quite enjoyed it, but as I'm no longer a teen, this book fell a bit flat for me, I was a bit bored by the end, but with that being said, I thought the story line was interesting and well plotted out, the characters were pretty likeable and the writing itself was good.

They stole moments where they could, as they lived with opposing clans.

But then came the time when he had to choose for he knew her truth even if she didn't.

Now four years have gone by and across a room at Crawford University their eyes meet.

Moon kissed is the first book in the marked wolf trilogy and my first read by this author!

The cover drew me in, the trope had me hooked and the storyline had me unable to put it down!

I loved the introduction to them as children, the tenderness they shared in a special place to her. My heart melted instantly.

Then fast forward a few years and it was time to swoon some more!

I loved everything about Aiden. He was a jerk yes but for the right reasons. His heart was in the right place honest! I did want to strangle him and his secretive ways at points though, but I held back.

Emma started out as a "yes" person. Submissive, meak and mild but then suddenly she finds her strength and that is the moment she becomes a truly fantastic character.

Jacob initially comes across as the perfect boyfriend. The alphas son who can do no wrong, but I must admit I was sat on the fence with my true feelings for him. He didnt make my heart beat with excitement, and there was just something about him I couldn't quite put my finger on.

This book gave me the perfect balance between story and character development and is a fantastic introduction to a new series. Jen L Grey could be my new flavour of the month!

This is a solid NA wolf shifter romance, with some great world building and interesting characters. Emma and Aiden first met when they are 12 years old, and become very close friends, despite the fact that they come from enemy packs. On Emma’s fourteenth birthday, though, Aiden discovers something that forces him to walk away from her without a word in an effort to protect her. Emma is crushed, but begrudgingly moves on, basically going through the motions she believes her pack and her adoptive parents want from her. When Emma goes to college, she never expects that her entire world is going to be turned upside down by the same boy she fell for all that time ago.

Aiden didn’t realize the girl that he was sent to “check out” was the girl that he was in love with all those years ago - the one he vowed to stay away from to protect. As more and more is revealed, it’s clear that there is so much more to this story than either of them fully realize. The magic/shifter world is quite interesting, with lore that blends the shifter’s world with witches. In the end, the story that is unfolding is quite engrossing, and I think this is a great start to the trilogy. Very much looking forward to more of this story!

Emma and Aidan were best friends from when they were children, a friendship that was against the rules because their packs were rivals. One night, he gives her a gift but soon discovers she is someone his pack has warned him against. Fast-forward to her first year in college, and she's dating her pack alpha while attending the same college as he is. Until Aidan shows up and changes everything. Along the way, she discovers she has a destiny that will change their world. But there are those who don't want her to interfere, and they are pressed to make sure she fails.

I think this author's writing improves with each book. She gives us characters with energy and humor, and they make me want to tag along to see where we're going. I look forward to seeing where these characters take me next.
