LONDON PREP - WHERE THE BOYS ARE AS CUTE AS THEIR ACCENTS.
When my parents told me that I’d be spending three weeks at a London prep school on a student exchange my junior year, I was furious. I love New York. My school. My friends. And I didn’t want to leave. But after some not-so-subtle insistence about experiencing a new culture, gaining worldly knowledge, and the fact that it was only three weeks, I knew I wasn’t getting out of it.
So, I decided that if I had to go, I might as well have some fun. Which was how I met Harry at a pub. His blue eyes, adorable accent, and charm instantly won me over—right after his lips did.
And I started to think that London might not be so bad.
But then I met Noah. He’s tall, dark, intense, and spends way too much time in the shower. I know this because I have to live with him. And did I mention that he hates me?
My first day at school is more eventful than I anticipated. A boy named Mohammad takes me under his wing, declares himself my guide to the “hostile and hormonal battlefield that is Kensington School,” and lays three facts on me:
He, Harry, and Noah are best mates. I’m the new girl and bound to cause drama. And I’ve already got his boys all twisted up.
I’m in way over my head, and it’s only my first day!

London Prep—where the boys are as cute as their accents.
Jillian Dodd does YA romance and high school drama so well. When I saw she was writing a new series set at a private school in London, I knew I had to get my hands on it. London Prep is one of those books you won’t be able to put down. I devoured it!
Mallory James is a high school student from NYC who gets sent to London for a student exchange program. The host family she’s staying with for three weeks has a son her age, Noah. Noah is quiet and a little broody at first, but he and Mallory grow on each other and get closer as time passes.
Noah has two best friends, Harry and Mohammed, and Mallory fits in perfectly with the three guys. Harry is Mr. Popular and has a magnetic personality. He’s smitten with Mallory from the start. They have the best time flirting together. Mohammad is hilarious and so much fun.
So there’s Harry and there’s Noah and Mallory has a connection and chemistry with the both of them… I know what boy I’m rooting for, but it could very well change in the next 2 books. I can’t wait to see what direction this goes in! London Prep is full of that teenage angst I love so much in books. It was a fun read that made me laugh, but also had more serious moments. This was such an addictive read for me and I’m looking forward to more.
My first DNF in 2023. Miss Dodd is a new writer for me. I always hesitate picking up book that has NA high school drama. Some authors are good, some just so so. Sad to inform that The Exchange is not my cup of coffee.
The flow of the story is bad. The banter is horrible. Big no for me.
Jillian Dodd is the undisputable Queen of YA stories and London Prep reaffirms that with plenty of teenage angst to keep me eagerly turning each page.
Mallory has been sent to London for a three week homestay / school experience. She is not happy with her parents decision but once she arrives she is pleasantly surprised. The Williams family have such a warm and welcoming home, she instantly feels like part of their family.
After a quick orientation tour of her new school she pops into a local pub for a Sunday afternoon drink, as you do in London. This is where she first meets Harry, the gorgeous cheeky, flirtatious boy who has no qualms about talking to the cute American girl drinking alone at the bar. She has never met a guy so cocky and forward about his intentions.
The second cute guy she meets is Noah, her homestay brother, son of her hosts. He is completely different to Harry, he is quite brooding and serious. Damn, he is delicious eye candy though. Her first day at school turns up a few surprises, Harry and Noah are best friends, Harry has a nasty jealous ex at school with them and there is one more guy that completes this circle of friendship, Mohammad.
Mallory becomes a source of great interest to the students at Kensington School. The girls are eyeing her as competition and the guys are trying to get a glimpse of the new girl turning boys' heads. Harry has firmly staked his claim on Mallory much to the outright disgust of his ex Olivia. This girl takes nasty to the next level.
Mallory’s introduction to her new life has her getting up close and personal with Harry, bringing her resting bitch face out of retirement, drooling over sculpted soccer players chests, get more than an eyeful of Noah, a yoga class that gets way more physical than expected and dealing with a bucket load of emotions she could not anticipate.
All of this happens over the course of one week! At the end she is feeling very confused about who and what she wants but I know which boy I have my hopes pinned on. I cannot wait for more of this addictive story!
A new drama-rama high school series that's fast-paced and lively entertaining. I’m not usually a big fan of teeny-bopper romances, but it’s Jillian Dodd writing this one! Who passes up her books – certainly not me! LONDON PREP is full to the brim with teenage angst and a twisted triangle between friends. Its main female lead is a sassy exchange student from the States. And the cast of British hunks takes her breath away. And lots of laughs -- and, of course, challenging family-related matters as well.
Cliffhanger ahead – so onto Book 2. Who’ll win our American beauty’s heart – I know who I’m cheering for!
I'm still trying to figure out what the plot was. Girl goes to London on a school exchange program for 3 weeks?!? What's the point of that? She gets there, kisses the first teen guy she meets then also starts to like the other teen guy she will be living with. That's it. That was the whole book.
To top it all off, I listened to the audiobook, and...whoever was responsible for making the decision on the narrator needs a new job. The narrator isn't bad. She has the voice of the MC down pat. The problem comes when you A. Realize that's the only voice she is good at so all the characters sound the same. B. She can only speak in an American accent. 98% of this takes place in London... everyone has an American accent. There are books she could read really well with her limitations. This was not one of them.
Maybe there was a plot, but I was so annoyed by the narrator that I missed it!
I don't like rating books when I didn't finish, but with this one I can. I don't think I made it past 30%, but the reason I left it wasn't because I wasn't caught up in it or because I read in the wrong moment.
I didn't like this one because it seemed ridiculous. The MC is so high maintenance, so bratty and spoiled it almost reads like a fanfic. And I think that's the gist of it: it reads so young, so unreal. I've read one other book by the author which I liked, so I don't know what the thing here is.
This girl is forced by her parents to go on an exchange month to London and she's like "my fucking parents are thrash, I preferred Beiging". Ungrateful, but okay. Maybe it would have had more sense if there was an actual apparent reason why they were sending her away. Turns out, they just want the best for her.
Also, I heard through the gravepine this book takes place within a week, and by reading the synopsis of book two, in this week she manages to fall in love with one guy, break up and flirt with another one. And you know what? Ain't nobody got time for that. I can't see this happening.
Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I was sixteen. Now I'm just impatient.

Perfect YA book that sucks you into all of the angst and feels that you lived through in high school. Mallory's new adventure in London lets you live vicariously though making new friends, finding new loves and expanding your experiences. As you get invested into each of their lives, you wonder just what will happen next to these young people and how will it all end. So much fun!
High school drama!!! I love it!!! London prep is witty, drama filled with a side of hotties. It’s a Great YA read. I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2! Although London Prep doesn’t end in a cliffhanger you will want to know what Mallory is going to do next! How much Drama can she get into in 3 weeks!!!!
Oh, I absolutely LOVED this and gobbled it up! I mean a fiesty American girl who goes to London as an exchange student and gets caught up in a spicy love triangle with 2 very hot British guys. Ummm, YES PLEASE!!
I have a major weakness a for a good love triangle and this was such a good/tricky one!! I love both guys though I think I'm more Team Noah but Harry is such a charmer!! Also, I loved all the kissing going on in this!!! It had a mature YA vibe that I was ALL FOR!!
I loved that Mallory is a tough cookie but yet still has a soft side. All the characters are so great BUT Olivia. I cant stand her. But I love how Mal is just part of a cute little guy crew!
This gave me Anna and the French Kiss vibes but yet spicer! I'm excited to see where things go next because it's about to get extra complicated.
I enjoyed this book. The cover and blurb pulled me in.... Mallory leaves New York to attend school in London as an exchange student. She hated the idea, she didn't want to be there. But now I'm wondering how difficult it'll be for her to leave and go back home. The guys and Mal are funny and interesting and horny confusing teens. Lol. I absolutely adore Harry and I want the best for him BUT my heart is pulling for Noah. I can't wait till book 2 is here. I need more.
5 LONDON PREP STARS!! OMG, Mallory, Harry and Noah will take you on a fun ride in high school. You will get all the feels and lots of chemistry between these three. I can't wait for the next book...I am already addicted to this series.
London Prep felt like Gossip Girl if it were set in a London prep school versus New York City.
Mallory travels to London to take place in a three week school exchange program. There she meets Noah, the son of her host family, and his friends Harry and Mohammad. She and Harry quickly take up with each other, but she also frequently notices Noah and wonders about him.
The whole book takes place over only the first week of Mallory's stay in London. I think this made the plot feel a bit rushed. So much happens from romance to parties to fights, and much of it within only a few days of her being at the school.
I didn't connect much with Mallory as the protagonist/narrator. She frequently states what her personality is like but rarely seems to act that way. It may be a result of being thrust into a new environment, but she felt a bit all over the place. She did seem like a real teenager, though, at times emotional, learning to understand others lives, and experiencing her first real romance.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Wow, have no words, I feel emotionally ready to burst. My feelings were thrown everywhere on who to love (especially the guys) and hate, as we all know and love Jillian’s work especially our beloved Keatyn and Eastbrook, London Prep is totally different. And even though Jillian may not want for us to compare the two, we see some of that in London Prep with the relationships that are old and the ones being formed, with that I will say it is a YA must read and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I loved this book!! It's fun to be back in high school, and especially in London! I wasn't a fan of Harry in this book, he really irks me for some reason. I'm definitely team Noah :)...but the overall story was great and never boring, I loved listening to the audiobook and hearing all the drama that was going on!
DNF-My TBR list is way too long for this. The claim that she has over these boys in two days is mind boggling. I do realize that it’s YA and it really feels like it, in a bad way.
London Prep= that one series my friend made me read. (thanks @Katieprouty)
London Prep follows Mallory FORCED into going to prep school in London for 3 weeks, and she is not excited at all. Mallory moves in with her exchange family Gene, Helen, and the HAWT Noah. Noah is not impressed with Mallory especially after carrying her RIDICULOUSLY HEAVY BAGS up to her room while she is off making out with Kensington High's most wanted guy, Harry🔥.
Harry, Noah, and Mohammad are best and friends and welcome Mallory into the boy's club since she is Harry's new girl and Noah's exchange sister.
What you get out of London Prep? The ultimate LOVE TRIANGLE😍. Yes... I love a good love triangle... they are my favorite of all the love shapes lol.
So if you've read this series, who are you shipping? I know who my pick is especially after that shower scene!!! well multiple... I think all my favorites happened in the bathroom 😂.

now excuse me as I crawl into bed with my fall candle, blanket and my favorite London characters.
I received an advanced copy of this book because of an Instagram Giveaway. I loved it! I finished this book in just a few hours! I really like all the the main characters. I already know which one I want Mallory to end up with but I won't say who! You got to read this book to see who you prefer her to end up with!
I was really shocked when I read the part of what one character is experiencing! Read to find out what happens.
I hope that by the time, when Mallory ends her 3 weeks in London, there will be a way for her to stay in London as I really want her to stay in London as that means more books for us to read! :D.
Good job Jillian! I look forward to reading the 2nd book already!
Ok, that’s it! I’ve come to the decision that Jillian Dodd is incapable of writing anything even remotely considered “bad”. This series is now my new favorite series (like every new series she has ever written). Malloy is full of spunk, sass, & has soft heart. All the characters are super relatable & you just immediately want to be friends with all of them. Noah is my favorite. He’s hot & cold toward Mallory and I’m hoping that’s gonna be the attraction that goes from frienemies to lovers. He’s also super sweet and attentive. I mean *swoon*. He also states he has a hard time with change & takes forever to make decisions, I mean how did you know I was like that Jillian? Lol.
All in all, I loved loved loved this book and can NOT wait for more!
How I wish I was Mallory and able to go to London. Harry,Noah and Mohammed are like the perfect trio for Mallory to have a little fun and that she does. This felt very short which made me sad cause I so wasn’t finished with the story. This book isn’t as much of a roller coaster as most Jillians books are it’s more of a page turner( not saying the others aren’t)and think one thing is going to happen then it doesn’t. This reminded me a bit of the Keaton Chronicle series. Well the characters. I love it and can’t wait for the next!
I liked this book, it gave me a really good insight into the characters and all the relationships between them. Obviously, some will change and grow over the progression of the books but it really set a great foundation for the next part of the book. I can't help but feel that Harry and Mal aren't quite right for each other but, perhaps Noah could work with Mallory? Just my opinion. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out for sure.
Let me tell you, I'm not a hater. I've read Ms. Dodd's other series, That boy and the Keatin Chronicles. And I loved them. But this one, it's just not what I was expecting. It sounds so fake. The characters are not presenting themselves like their age would suggest. I just didn't feel it. The plot was basically nonexistent. The cliches were overly abundant. Sorry, but it's not for me.
Wow! This book sucked me into its crazy prep school drama! I can't get over how complex these characters were. Mallory was a girl, who came into their world and took it by storm! I could not get over how perfect both Harry and Noah are for her. Both boys have strong relationships with Mallory! Harry's seems to be more physical and they have an instant attraction; while Noah's is more of a enemies to friends to possible love interest. Noah seems to be the boy she is able to be her real self with. I am enjoying the friendship between Mallory and Mohammad! I am completely on board with both boys and will have to keep reading this series to make my final decision on who I will hope will come out the winner!
I wasn't wowed by this one but it was pretty entertaining. High school drama with dating and discovering new things as a teen. By the end of this read I was feeling like I need more of Mallory, Noah & Harry. I can honestly say I've read better BUT I don't want to deter anyone from reading it because it was good. If you like menial high school drama and a love triangle then this is right up your alley. I feel like I would have been addicted to this series when I was 14-16 age range. I also love how quick of a read this was. By the end I was really swooning over Noah. I feel like I need to know what happens next and for that I gave it 4 stars.
All in all if YA high school drama books are your faves then you would LOVEEEE this book.
I will try again with this one at a later time. The writing is good I just didn't connect but it may be the current state of bad boy book boyfriends that is causing me to not be into the high school drama.
