"Amplifiers don't get hung up on achieving perfection, but they never settle for mediocrity."

A well-developed, nuanced view of what it takes to really take leadership to the next level, or become an Amplifier. Unlike other leadership books - this one does two things throughout: it stays focused, giving detailed examples of the topics at hand without droning on, and it left me with tangible action items to focus on to improve my own leadership and followership in hopes to "amplify" my effectiveness both in the office and in life in general.

Amplifiers is not your typical "business book" and definitely not a typical leadership book. For instance, this book throws out the concept that all a company needs to be successful is great leaders. It's not enough and the case made by the author is compelling. This book opened my eyes to the possibility that being a great follower is just as important as being a great leader - and it helps you figure out your followership style. Someone who is a great leader, and a great follower, is an amplifier - and amplifiers are what are required to make an organization successful. The case made in the book for this view of leadership is compelling, definitely recommend it for someone who thinks they are a great leader but have trouble with managing your team or getting results you would expect for your business.

I thought this book offered a refreshing perspective. It also strikes a good balance between abstract concepts and storytelling that kept me hooked.
