The Edge #3

The Edge of Reason

I have a certain set of rules I try to live by. Rules that have always served me well. Until now…

Rule one: Don’t have sex with someone you work with.
Rule two: Don’t have sex with your friend’s ex-boyfriend.
Rule three: Don’t have sex with your best friend who also happens to be the same ex-boyfriend of your friend.
Rule four: Don’t ever, under any circumstances, fall in love with your best friend.

I guess it’s safe to say, I officially broke all four of my rules.

Doctor Andrew Albright. Sexy, arrogant, insanely gorgeous, and eternally off-limits.
Not only is he still in love with my friend, his ex, but he’s my rock. My perfect best friend.
The one person I cannot lose under any circumstances.
Especially when my life has a habit of falling apart on a regular basis.

But one mercy kiss later, to save me from an awkward situation, and suddenly everything changes. He flirts relentlessly. Corners me in dark hallways. Throws me panty-melting stares that render me helpless.
I crossed the uncrossable line. Broke every damn rule.
Now our perfect friendship is falling apart.

And he’s doing everything he can to keep it that way…

This is easily one of the most emotional books I've written. Drew and Margot's story is everything! I put it all out there and left a piece of myself on the page with them. I cannot wait for you all to read this book!
It is a complete standalone and you do NOT have to read The Edge of Temptation or The Edge of Forever to enjoy this book. But I will say that we get some minor insight into these characters in those, especially in The Edge of Forever.

Do you live by your own set of rules for life? Margot has her own set, but will she find them too difficult to follow? Were they all that brilliant, anyway? Love and Margot never seem to find each other at the same time and Margot’s less than stellar choices at times aren’t making it any easier, but when her best friend, who was also the ex-lover of a girlfriend suddenly comes to her rescue at a most awkward time, she may find that tossing that list of rules could be the best decision she ever made…if only she had the nerve to take a chance…

Forget relaxing into this tale from J. Saman! Get ready to run the gamut of emotions, right along with Margot as she balances precariously on THE EDGE OF REASON. Can she risk losing her best friend if they don’t work out as lovers?

Sexy, sassy, fun and flirty, Drew proves he is gifted both in the Emergency Department and…

You may want to keep a fan handy as this romance staggers and stumbles at first as it blazes into something MORE!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from J. Saman! This is my honest and voluntary review.

4.5 STARS REVIEW

Contemporary Romance, Adult, Doctor Romance, Friends-to-Lovers, Light-BDSM

First Person, Dual-POV

This is book #3 of the Edge Series, but they can be read as standalone. I haven't read the previous two books and I have understood everything.

That question, my name on his lips, is everything. The line in the sand. The divide between sense and chaos. It's the edge of reason. If I say yes, that's it. We jump.

by Margot

Addictiveness: 5/5  This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't let go. It was a one-sitting read for me. As addictive as chocolate!!!

Character: hero 5/5, heroine 4.5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Multidimensional characters that had lot of layers and wonderfully written backstories.

Drew was a wonderful hero. Yes, I haven't read Luna's book, and I imagine if I had, I probably wouldn't like him that much. But I can only judge this book, and in this story he was the perfect best friend and a splendid boyfriend. Drew was a doctor at a hospital's ER and he worked best with his best friend, Margot, as the nurse helping him. Like his mom said:

You're his yin and he's your yang. You work as hard as he does, but you counterbalance each other.

by Drew's mother

When Margot started working at the hospital Drew used to date Luna, but he became best friend with her. Now, he was ready for more, but Margot was really stubborn. He was very patient and worked a lot to get their relationship working. He, of course, had a TSTL, but we all have those in life.

Margot was a great heroine. Yes, she had lots of fears and hangups from her past. She had a horrible family and had never been really loved before. She was a fighter and had overcome a lot to become herself. Like she described herself:

I'm many things-a girl who knows her limits and frequently blows right past it, emotionally immature, a hot mess of a chick, a little wild and a lot outspoken-but I am not a liar. I'm honest. Always.

by Margot

Margot had a wonderful growth during the book. She changed a lot. Became more certain of herself. Drew, his family and their wonderful group of friends helped her see the real warrior she was. They showed her that with them she had a chosen family, that was stronger than blood.

Margot was a wonderful friend and it took a while, but when she jumped she became the best girlfriend.

Secondary characters… if I named them all it would take me a while, there are too many. The entire group of friends is alluring. Drew's family is fantastic and I hope his brothers get their own book. I'm certain next book will be Luna's brother with the other friend.

Villains.. antagonists… there was one clear and unexpected villain and one antagonist.

All characters were easy to love, connect and understand!!!

Cover: art 4.5/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5  I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. This cover is fantastic. The couple could definitely be Drew and Margot. They are sexy and the picture in black & white gives a classy look. The title and subtitle are impeccable and play with the reader imagination. I would easily buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb.

Plot: believable 5/5, conflict 5/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 5/5, twists 5/5 A extremely believable plot, with very well written conflict and great dialogues. Excellent opening to a splendid ending. Ideal pace, good setting, interesting subplots and wonderful twist. Highest level of enjoyment!

Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 5/5, steam 5/5  This was true love. They were made for each other, but took several years to really notice. Their love story was beautiful, painful, poignant. As Margot said:

How sad all that time in between must be for missing out. And yet, I know it's not. Without all that, we'd never be here. We'd never be us. Drew and I are not the stuff of happenstance or new encounters . We're the trust that is forged in fire. Nothing less would do for our damaged souls.

Love for us was simply not enough.

by Margot

Their chemistry was undeniable, they are really hot together. The smut was tastefully described and all pertinent to the story. Unforgettable love!!!

Writing Style: 5/5 This was my first book by the author and I'm already in love. The author played with my emotions like I was a set o piano keys. The writing was beautiful, touching, real and daring. Plot, characters, romance and smut were all fantastically written. Writing of a wordsmith!!!

Freshness: 3.5/5 This is a contemporary romance within the friend-to-lover trope. It is hard to write something completely original, it has all the usual clichés. But the author was smart and added a nice unexpected twist that gave the story a fresh vibe. As fresh as mentos!!!

I don't really know what I was expecting out of this book, but I was pleasantly surprised. First, because the book became an obsession. I was so hooked that I ended up missing a wonderful night of sleep because I couldn't stop it. Second, because I haven't read the previous books of the series and I usually avoid reading series out of order. But I love friends-to-lovers romance and I chose to read this one.

This book was really emotional and the characters were easy to connect. Everything felt too real, and very believable.

A true love story with everlasting feelings!!!

33/35 STARS –  4.5 STARS (between 31.5 stars and 33 stars)

Addictiveness: 5 Character: 5 Cover: 4.5 Freshness: 3.5 Plot: 5 Romance: 5 Writing Style: 5

Action 4/5 Angst 5/5 Darkness 0/5 Humor 2/5 Romance 5/5 Suspense/Mystery 0/5

Would I recommend? Definitely! I believe this is a must for everyone that likes romance!!!

Would I re-read this book/series? Yes! In fact I believe I will when I start the series from the first book.

Would I read more from the author? Yes, I will be on the look out for more.

You MAY read this because you the series; you SHOULD read this because these characters are all amazing ; you MUST read this because this love story is CAPTIVATING!!!

It may be cold outside, but it sure is hot in here. Saman breaks all the rules to deliver a love match that was years in the making. Flawed though they may be, Drew and Margot are intoxicating to watch. Their chemistry is electric. The emotions are raw and their attraction runs deep. There are moments when the rawness feels so real that it touches something within your soul. The Edge of Reason turns a symphonic masterpiece into a heartaching duet.

You want to read a book that reads like real life?...full of powerful characters who take the friends to lovers trope and gives it depth and believability. It's got humor, crazy people, breath stealing scenes, moments where you have scares and those moments where you are jumping around like you won the lottery.

J. has such a way of delivering beautiful and visual words. You get so wrapped in the story that you don't hear or see anything but Drew, Margot, Aria, Halle and the rest of the supporting cast.

We get both POV and bonus epilogues. Be prepared to get to know these characters better than you know yourself. Margot may have bad luck in the beginning but it's because of that we get to see Drew dig deep inside and discover the truth about himself and what he thought he felt for Aria.

I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Im sorry I just cannot get invested in a story where the MFC is out here falling in love with her best friends ex fiancé. It’s so fucking weird to me, especially since I just finished reading the book where her best friend was having a hard time shaking off said ex cause he was so in love with her and regretted ending things.

It left a bad taste in my mouth so ALREADY I’m feeling unkind feelings towards Drew and while normally I’m a big friends to lovers fan, NOTHING about this is appealing to me. Why waste my time?

J. Saman set herself a tricky task with this book – take the (mildly) problematic ex-boyfriend from the previous book in the series and turn him into a romantic hero where he falls for his best friend, also a member of his ex’s girl squad. It’s a close situation with some complicated dynamics, but Saman absolutely nailed it with a real and raw love story that had me rooting for these two from the very beginning.

Drew and Margot are Emergency doctor/nurse colleagues, the best of friends and each other’s ‘person’. They’ve both recently experienced romantic drama, and while they’re feeling fragile, they’re also doing some soul searching and leaning on each other as always to get through it. The change in their friendship comes slowly and realistically, when a rescue in the form of a platonic kiss sparks a brand new awareness of each other, and suddenly they’re seeing each other very differently.

I’m developing a serious and ill placed fascination with my best friend.
Nothing I’ve done or tried has been able to squash it. If anything, it’s growing, developing teeth and legs that enjoy biting me in the ass and kicking me in the balls. One might call it a crush. Others who aren’t as juvenile would call a spade a spade and convince me that I’m well and truly fucked when it comes to Margot.

I love a best-friends-to-lovers romance, and the slow burn in this book is absolutely delicious. It’s like their feelings have always been there for each other, as a part of their friendship, but they haven’t acknowledged it or given any space to explore it. It’s not disrespectful to their previous relationships, it’s just a natural extension of their connection – easy and natural, and so real.

The anticipation builds brilliantly as they wrestle with their feelings, denying the obvious, and terrified to risk their friendship and lose each other, and I could understand exactly where they were at. But the attraction is undeniable, and the more they start to acknowledge it, the harder it is to ignore.

“If friends is really all you want, then I’ll try my best to be only that. But I think we can be more. I’d like to be more.”
“This isn’t just about sex?”
I cup her face in my hand, my thumb brushing her cheek and the corner of her lips. “Do you honestly believe I’d take the risk with us if it were just about sex?”

“I’m terrified of loving you. Of what that will do to me. To us.”
“I might not give you the choice.”

I love these two together. Their love for each other is so obvious, and I loved watching them come to understand and accept the depth of all that they feel for each other. It’s sweet yet intense, and so sexy. Their connection is everything, they know each other inside and out, and through everything, they’re honest and open with each other, sharing their vulnerabilities and determined to not lose their closeness, and every moment of it is just gorgeous.

I don’t want her like a best friend. Those days are done for me. I live and die and breathe for this girl. I realize now, looking at her, there has never been a time when I wasn’t in love with Margot. There was just a time when I convinced myself that I wasn’t.

Characters from the previous books appear, and I loved the found family dynamics. They’re all so close, and their friends are nothing but supportive of these two finally acting on their feelings.

There is external drama that they need to deal with, and some great character development along the way, and all of the elements create a beautiful read that is full of emotion, with fantastic moments of intensity, and I loved this story so much.

4.5 stars.

This gifted storyteller has yet to let me down, and she'll have you on the edge of your seat, holding on tightly as you navigate the twists and turns of Margot and Drew’s captivating, thrilling, steamy story. It may be sweater weather time of year, but you’re going to want a cold drink and a powerful fan for this one.

Nurse Margot Cady and Dr. Andrew Albright work closely together in the ER. Emergency medicine can be stressful, so Margo and Drew being best friends makes the days easier. They're not a likely romantic match, but their differences work with their friendship. Besides, with the exception of a recent three-month stint only to find out her boyfriend was married, Margot is more of a one-and-done kind of gal. And Drew is still nursing a broken heart after his relationship with Margot's best friend ended. Oh yeah, and Drew works with his ex's new beau, so he has a daily reminder of what he's lost.

It all has a bit of a daytime-TV-drama feel to it, which adds a deliciously tantalizing aspect to the story, making it impossible for the reader to put the book down. I was on a cruise when I picked up this book, and I still read it in one day.

The storyline seems to mirror real life, and the characters' struggles were authentic and made them more endearing. The inherent struggle of the friends-to-lovers theme is so well done that I was almost giddy as I read, knowing how all their excuses and protests would eventually turn out. And as different as these two are, they fit each other perfectly, and I was so happy to see them get their HEA.

I adore everything about this story! The ups and downs, the twists and surprises, the palpable chemistry and the characters' pain and vulnerability that squeezed my heart. If you like friends to lovers, lots of hot chemistry, a riveting storyline, and complex, loveable characters, you’ll love Drew and Margot's story!

Friends to lovers.
Dual POV
Need i say more?

As always, another favorite from The very talented J.SAMAN.

The first chapter of this book is a damn good hook, it starts with Margrot in an awkward awful-to-God situation with an ex of hers, but then her bestfriend Andrew, flew in and gets her out of it. HOW you ask? by kissing her.
So now that the situation has passed and all, the kiss is lingering between them like a 100 Years old Ghost.

We go back and forth between them, getting into their head, post-kiss, and see how comfortable they are around eachothers, their friendship is honestl HUGE GOALS.
They got this dynamic going on between them, funny, comfy and very pleasent to read and be a part of.
It got me rooting for them right from the begining.

and it doesnt hurt that Doctor Andrew is hot as sin
description
Also the hospital sitting is always a win for me, I'M A HUGE GREY'S ANATOMY FAN, so any doctors, nurse related books are IT for me, and this one was amazing, giving that the author has a pretty good medical background, she always paints the best scenes.
description
Anyways here is what you really need to know:

1. Amazing book
2. addiciting read
3. hot characters
4. shit loads of doctors
5. funny bestfriends

That's it, go read it

Right.  I know that I wasn't supposed to like Andrew in the previous book.  I get that.  But here?  He's like a completely different character.  And yes, I found him eminently more likeable.

These two though.  Honestly - if ever a couple needed their heads knocked together, it's these two.  For me, I confess that the "will they, won't they" portion of the story felt like it was overlong.  Don't get me wrong, I understood it as a narrative tool, and enjoyed much of it, I just felt like it could perhaps have been dealt with in a shorter page count.

However, once these two got their groove on, it was most definitely ON!  Definitely ramped up in the spice stakes.  And the dramatic piece was inserted into the story just wonderfully.

Overall - very enjoyable.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Falling for your best friend. Would you act on it, or are you too afraid to possibly ruin a beautiful friendship? In The Edge of Reason, Margot and Drew are facing this very dilemma. It isn’t easy, but I love the ending our couple gets.

Margot and Drew see each other a lot. They work in the same hospital – she a nurse, he an ER doctor – and share the same group of friends. But more importantly, they’re best friends who love to spend time together. One unexpected kiss however, changes the whole dynamic between Drew and Margot. From easygoing it goes to complicated, confused feelings and not knowing what to do. That there’s more then just friendship between them is clear, but how to deal with is a whole other question.

I love Margot and Drew. Not just as a couple, but also as individuals. Drew is a guy who knows what he wants. Yes, he always has seen Margot as a friend, but that’s until ‘the kiss’. I love how he doesn’t question his feelings, how he’s all in. Margot on the other hand is the hesitant party. And I so get her. Her past has taught her not to trust easily, and her romantic choices haven’t always the smartest. So yes, it’s very understandable she doesn’t want to ruin her friendship with Drew. Margot and Drew are an amazing couple, they both deserve finding real love.

The Edge of Reason is the third book in the ‘Edge Series’, and this time the story is about Drew and Margot. They have been side characters in the previous books of the series, but now they take main stage. Besides the back and forth between Margot and Drew there’s a lot more going on; work, good times with their friends and a good old-fashioned villain. I love how J. Saman has written this story, it makes Margot and Drew feel like real people, with real doubts and feelings.

I love Drew and Margot, and their road to their Happily Ever After. I give The Edge of Reason 4.5 stars.

The super talented J. Saman is on the newer to me spectrum, but when you know you know! The Edge of Reason seriously gave the good old college try in bringing me to my knees without letting me get back up, and frankly, I'm still very emotional. I LOVED Margot, who really didn't have very good luck with men at all, and I wanted to hug her, because she was totally too good for those that she had been dealing with. That's how this story started out, with her in next level awful situation with her ex, and her best friend, Drew, comes to the rescue by getting her out of it. Oh, and that solution was to kiss her, so afterwards they were off to the races, since it was instantly apparent, there was something bigger at work with the strong feelings that kiss invoked. So, back & forth between the two of them we go, as it was dual POV, which is always so much better for me, because I need to be in the head of both the H/h. Neither could get that kiss out of their heads, but they're flawed, realistic people, so the push & pull became hair pulling frustrating, yet, hurt so good as both had been burned by others. Nurse Margot was feisty though, while Dr. Andrew was mouth watering HOT HOT HOT, and the hospital setting is my jam being such a HUGE Grey's Anatomy fan, which has been my very favorite show bar NONE since it started. Anyway, I don't really want to get into any more details, as trust me, it's a journey which is better experienced blind. So if you want to know if these two got their crap together at a bright future together, you'll have to one click on The Edge of Reason to dance it out with me! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The best of the series.

I know I shouldn't love Drew after the last book but this author made it impossible not to love him. Even Aria put it in perspective in this one. This connection with Margot and him was fire. It was heavy at times, it was intense, and more importantly it was beautiful. It was unconditional love in all its tarnished pieces and my jaded heart melted.

The Edge of Reason was my first book by J. Saman and I can say with total certainty that it will not be my last. If you love a good friends to lovers (with added complications) romance read, then this is most definitely the book for you. I absolutely love Drew and Margot both individually and as a couple. The best of friends until one shattering kiss changes everything. Margot is not known for making the best choices when it comes to men and as a result she is hesitant when it comes to opening up her heart. Drew is equal parts sexy and determined, once he realizes the potential for love with his best friend he is all in. I can’t wait to binge read the other two books in this series. Add this book to your TBR list, trust me you won’t regret it. (I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review).

This was one of those intense, cry-into-my-pillow, leap for joy, hide behind things while I waited for the story to unfold. There are so many dynamics in this story that cling to your heart strings and don't want to let go.

Now I've read a lot of romance novels that can be way over the top when it comes to emotional depth, to the point where I want to gag myself. But this one had just the right amount of intensity, realism and romance to keep me so heavily enthralled that I finished it within only a few days and this is no short read.

The Edge of Reason is a friend's to lover trope and after reading this particular story, it has solidified for me that the friends to lover trope is actually my favorite. You get to see the inner workings of the light and airy friendship between Drew and Margot which transforms into the confusion and painful realization when they discover their feelings for one another.

I couldn't speak any higher of this book and will recommend this one to anyone looking for a fantastic friends to lovers romance. Thank you for the wonderful read!

Pros: I could add a lot of scenes to my "funny ways to describe sex" document
Cons: This book was A MESS

So. I love this universe, I love this author, I love these characters. And I honestly don't know what to think about this book.

I'm not the biggest fan of friends to lovers but yes, Drew and Margot were really cute. You could really see how much they loved and cared for each other — even if they were terrible at showing it.

I can understand Margot's reasons for it, she wants to go slow, she doesn't want to jump into cold water, when we get to her backstory, it all makes sense.

My real issue is with Drew: he messes up this relationship SO often, goes directly against want Margot wants (and then tries everything to get her to change her mind) and even after knowing what she went through, he still uses her fears and insecurities against her in a fight. Whenever we get his POV, to some point I can also understand his reasoning but it happens so often, it gets frustrating.

(can you tell I just really miss the LI's from the other books)

No matter how messed up they were, I have to admit that it was still cute. Plus, the epilogue had one of my favourite tropes, so I can't complain too much.

Hoping the next book will be more enjoyable for me again!

(But also does anyone think it's weird that we get 3 doctors as LI's and then some random tax guy?? why do I have to read so many books to get to the loml, Oliver)

This was such a well written, quick moving, page turner of a book!! Drew and Margot captured my attention and kept it until the very last page!! Drew and Margot have a lot of things in common. They are best friends. They work at a hospital together and Drew's ex-girlfriend is one of Margot's best friends as well. Now granted, Aria and Drew dated ions ago but Margot thinks that Drew is still pining for her.

Drew saves Margot from a sketchy situation and these two kissing. Things change at the exact moment their lips touch and they start to realize that they do have feelings for each other more than best friends should. It's adorable to watch things develop. Their friendship is now the thing that these two don't want to lose and should they risk trying for more?

There are some funny parts, sad parts and through it all I loved watching this love blossom. Of course, there is a bit of a twist and a little touch of angst and things take a turn but it was awesome to see how it all worked out. I suggest taking this book and relaxing for a bit because you won't want to miss a page!!

Margot could write a book about what not to do when it comes to relationships as she has kissed a lot of frogs while not realizing her Prince is standing right in front of her. When her latest relationship has placed her in an awkward situation the one man that she can always count on comes to her rescue.

Drew has the professional success but the same can’t be said for his personal life. He wants love and marriage but finding the right woman isn’t as easy as it appears. When he steps in to rescue his best friend one kiss has him convinced that they are meant to be more than friends and he is determined to convince her of that as well.

Watching these two together there is not doubting that they belong together and once they decide that they are all in it was magical to watch. Full of emotion, hot chemistry and witty banter this story has it all.

So many feelings. So much hurt. So much self doubt.
And oh so much LOVE!

Drew and Margot are best friends for a while now. Until one day, Drew helps out Margot from a precarious situation and kisses her....
Can they go from best friends to lovers unscathed ?

This is book 3 in the series, but can easily be read as a stand-alone!
An emotional roller coaster ride, with a lot of love and laughter, but also tears in the next minute. Hot as hell tho 😏

I kindly received an arc from the author and voluntarily left a review

I didn't know this book was already the third in a series, but I was happy to realize that reading can be done without reading the previous books.
The author is new to me, with a plot that may seem cliché, but it brings interesting and even very real nuances.
An exciting book to read and one that should get you stuck to the last page.
If you want to read something with more realistic details, this is your book.

This is the third book in the Edge Series. Talk about an emotional roller coaster, this book will take you on one wild ride. It'll have you laughing one minute and crying the next. Well written with strong characters and a page-turning plot. I really enjoyed this book and found it hard to put down. I read an arc copy and voluntarily chose to review. Drew and Margot will grab your heart in this standalone friends to lovers romance.

Author J. Saman has yet again written the most amazing story, filled with drama, steamy scenes and humorous dialogs.

The heartache in this story ripped me apart but the beautiful ending mended my heart again.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

The Edge of Reason- Drew and Margot

These are stand alone books but I would definitely read in order. This story in particular could be weird without previous details in Aria’s book.

Margot has had a very difficult life. Her childhood was very difficult and she was never taught or felt what love was. She has a very low self esteem and sees things from the negative point of view. That’s why whenever she is struggling with something in life, she had a pattern; drink shots, get drunk, and have a one night stand. The few constants in her life are her job as a nurse, her group of friends, and her BFF Drew.

Drew is another doctor at the hospital and has been BFF with Margot for several years. You may remember Drew, he is Aria’s ex yet still friends with her and the group. He has had a very difficult time getting over Aria but something good came out of that..he is taking a look at himself and what he really wants out of life.

This is another great story however not my fav. I get the point of view of Margot but my goodness, enough already. If you have been BFF with a person for a while, then there is a level of love and trust already there so why the questions and hesitancy? For the whole book? I loved how Drew snapped out of it, owned up to what happened with Aria and realized what he wants and deserves. Good read overall.

I was skeptical about Drew's book after having him pine away for Aria in the last book. It was a little unreal to read about how much he's always had feelings for Margot, when not a few months ago he had a full plan of attack to win Aria back. This book may have been more palatable had it been the last in the series and there was some time between Aria's book and his. That being said, Drew and Margot were cute, but also toxic for each other to some extent. The slight angst and spice was good. I love me a little medical drama and the FMC nearly dying is always good to see from the MMC POV. Margot needed to make Drew grovel more after what he said to her, in my opinion. Ok read - my favorite part was the girls convening post sex rundown from Margot.

I started this book thinking it was just a quick, easy romance for me to do some light reading in my spare time.
I was so incredibly wrong and I'm so incredibly pleased that I was.

I loved the characters, main and side, and I adored the complexity of the relationships between them all.
I also really enjoyed that the problems the main characters faced weren't superficial or shallow, they were real, deep issues that had to be overcome.

This story was fine and I was enjoying it, but when I got to 70% everything started getting predictable and boring...

Drew and Margot's story!

I realize now, looking at her, there has never been a time when I wasn’t in love with Margot. There was just a time when I convinced myself that I wasn’t. (HIM)

The narration lacked, and I couldn't connect with the two characters in this one. Margot is just all around sad and woe is me type of person. 🙄
