The Adler Brothers #1

Dangerous Deviance

Rate this book

Her fate is in my hands.

Ellie showed up on our family’s property vulnerable, alone, and without any memories.

Trespassing in mafia territory should have resulted in her death. But on my birthday, she became my gift—to use, to mold, to break. She owes me her life. Until the day she dies, she is mine.

As her secrets unraveled, it became clear that one of our enemies sent her. I should have killed her right then and there. But Ellie was a mystery, and like a moth to a flame, she lured me in.

Then she learned who I truly was.

We couldn’t resist the urge to destroy each other. And I knew it would ruin us.

For what could be more reckless than falling for a dangerous woman?

Author’s Note: Dangerous Deviance is the first book in the dark mafia series, The Adler Brothers. It is Wil and Ellie’s story. It contains dark and disturbing content. Reader discretion is advised.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another fantastic tale by Audrey Rush. These are very dark mafia based stories, full of violence and may contain triggers for some readers. The suspense and mystery will keep you reading long into the night, with women being brainwashed into becoming killing machines. With the emotional turmoils of this story, it is my favourite so far. The only thing I feel is strange with this story is the timeframe of brainwashing the women versus the time taken by Dr Mercia to “unbrainwash” them.

I found this story very slow, and
in the beginning I found it a tad
confusing. I found the topic
interesting, and I don't want to
give it away, because it's the
basis of the whole tale but it just
didn't keep my attention.

She💃💔 Heard A Voice In Her Head

ADULT Alpha Mafia Male Romance with BDSM Elements.

In this book, Ellie💃, the daughter of a rival mobster, is somehow brainwashed and sent to Wil🐺🍆⛲💪👋🔪🔫, the leader and enforcer of another gang in a fictional city. Wil🐺🍆⛲💪👋🔪🔫 thinks of himself as a God with the power of life and death over other people. Arrogant and conceited yet?

Wil🐺🍆⛲💪👋🔪🔫 has no clue who Ellie is because she is found nude and disoriented in the woods on a property he owns. She doesn't even know who she is, but a voice in her head keeps telling her she must find her sister. Is she actually unknowingly referring to herself?

For Wil🐺🍆⛲💪👋🔪🔫, she will be his playtoy and prisoner. Her back is badly scarred from some sort of vile repeated punishments and she has an unusual tattoo on the back of her neck. Wil doesn't ask her about either!

ARC Provided by Book 📚Sirens💃
I also got this ebook with KU.

The book is written in first person which I am not fond of, but it does give both Main characters own points of view.

Some of the dialogue is so truly bad, it's awful. The character Maddie, a personal assistant, has a simplistic and ridiculous view of the brothers, and tells Ellie, if she will get Wil🐺🍆⛲💪👋🔪🔫 to fall in love with her, everything will be wonderful for her. The book moves very slowly.

Wil, for his part, makes lots of empty threats to Ellie, threatening her with a 🔪knife and then audaciously asking her why she is afraid of knives! She doesn't know him from Adam! Anyone would be afraid of a stranger wielding a 🔪knife in their face. I found the book to be illogical and ridiculous in many places. I've read some really good mafia romances over the years. Unfortunately this isn't one of them.

eeeyyyeeee absolutely love the world of the Dahlia District! I mean how could you not? All the bad ass mafia-ness is good for the insides.

So this is the first spin off of the Adlers (with the main three brothers cause Ethan is in the Dahlia District series) and it was such an amazing read! I adore everything about Wil and Ellie.

Wilhelm is the youngest brother and runs the gambling casino side of the family business. Boom starts and it’s his birthday and his brothers got him a gift and turns out it’s a woman, Elena. He’s so used to owning, conquering and killing that he takes this same approach with her

Ellie, has no idea who she is or where she came from, all she knows is it’s a voice in her head that’s pushing her to kill Wil and his brothers but something In her doesn’t sit with those decisions cause she’s figured out that the guys aren’t the bad guys. Well they are but they didn’t do what their being accused of THIS TIME.

I will say, there was so much Ellie story telling which of course made sense with the book and flow...I definitely would’ve liked to dive into Wil more though.

Great great read! Another 5 stars for Audrey Rush, I absolutely love everything of hers I’ve read! A fave author for sure.

A woman with amnesia is found naked in the woods that just so happens to be on the estate of a powerful mafia family. The man who finds her decides she'd make a great birthday present for his little brother Wil.

I enjoyed everything about this far out story. Wil was a legit bad boy. He does bad things.

I loved Ellie. Even though she starts out as essentially a brainwashed sex toy, she proved to be one strong woman.

I don't normally get squeamish but there is a scene with a knife that made me very uncomfortable to read so kudos to reminding me I do have limits and not numb to everything.

If you love a captive story with a bad Alpha guy, this is a good one. Of course he does have a romantic hero moment for the woman he loves. The h turns out to be no doormat and there are other strong women that emerge in the story. So many romances have women as the enemy and put in a bad light to make the h look better. You know the trope where all women except the heroine are jealous, shallow bimbos?

It was nice to see that the featured women in the story came together to help each other out and band together. Points are always given when women and relationships between women(and not because they are related or the woman would not be sexual competition for the H) are shown in a positive light.

I loved seeing Iris from the Dahlia series make an appearance.

Content warning: noncon/dubcon, choking, mind control, torture with a knife, murder.

"She's my gift. My captive"

Dangerous Deviance is the story of Wilheim (Wil) and Ellie. Wil has a total God complex and when a woman (Ellie) is found on the Adler property, she is gifted to Wil on his birthday. Ellie was found in the woods naked, afraid and having no memory of how or why she was there. The only thing Ellie can remember is that her sister is missing and she needs to find her. Ellie also has a voice in her head that continues to tell her that she can't trust the Adler brothers and she needs to kill them. Wil gets to play God with Ellie and agrees to help her find her sister but in return, she must offer him her complete submission and total obedience. Ellie agrees and although she's quite feisty, she obeys the demands of Wil. The Adler's guards begin to show up in the woods dead and more women like Ellie (naked, afraid, no memory and only knowing they're missing family members) show up as well. The family soon realizes that they're in the midst of a war. This was a great beginning to the series. Wil's story was fast paced, full of suspense, mystery and spice. This was a wonderfully written dark mafia romance but it does contain some pretty dark themes (but I'm 100% here for it).

Please check the trigger warnings prior to reading this. A full list can be found on the authors website. I also recommend reading Dangerous Silence and Dangerous Command along with this book. It is a complete series that is dark and delicious.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this enthralling dark mafia romance & it is first book of a new series, it is loosely connected to the “Dahlia District series” but it can be read as a standalone. This book has a splendid “enemies to lovers” undertone with an outstanding twist in the storyline. The plot is well-written & is very suspenseful with some intriguing events/situations that is well-described & has good world building. The characters are well-portrayed with individual personalities & are realistically emotional flawed to a certain extent. I was particularly impressed at how “Ellie” was portrayed a rather submissive woman until a certain word was mentioned that promptly turns her to a vengeful killer.
There is: various mafia crime families, a ruthless mafia enforcer (Wilhelm James Adler aka Wil)), his brothers (Derek & Axe Adler), his father & mob boss (Gerald Adler), a young woman (Elena Jordan aka Ellie) found naked in the forest, a villainous villain (Dr Bates), alliances, rivalry, action, intrigue, suspense, twist & turns, secrets, mystery, deceit, murder, threats, danger, enemies, devious plans, desperation, determination, inner voices, fragmented memories, possessiveness, emotional turmoil, misunderstandings, manipulations, complications, compromises, retaliations, steamy scenes, happiness, love & a hard-earned, satisfying conclusion.

I am such a fan of the Dahlia District books that I knew I had to read this new series with the Adler brothers. Wil and Ellie have such a great story!

Ellie comes into Wil's life when Axe gifts her to him. She was found wandering their property naked and confused. Ellie can't really remember anything at first but has this "voice" she keeps hearing in her head telling her to do things.

I was really rooting for Wil and Ellie. I had an idea who was causing the issues but I was stumped on other parts. I love that there were things I never saw coming. This had a good mixture of suspense and drama.

Loved the epilogue! I always get so invested in the characters while I read. It was so nice to see a brief glimpse into what their lives are like once the story has ended!

Ellie shows up on Wil’s property, alone and wiped of her memories. Wil plans to keep her for his own and sparks are flying between them but what will happen when he learns she was sent by one of his family’s enemies. Fast-paced dark read with loads of drama, steam and intense chemistry. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

This book was good! I feel like this is a good intro into darker romance novels! Always check trigger warnings when looking into any book but especially dark mafia romances. The characters were so well written and made you feel like you were in the book! Transitions from different scenes into others was so well done and had a good flow to them I felt like I was easily taken from one scene to the next and able to get a full scope of the characters. This book also had great side characters that grabbed your attention without stealing the show! I can’t wait to read book 2!

This is the first book to kick off the "Adler Arc". You meet the Adler's in the last series of books she wrote, ""The Dahlia District" and you never got a good sense on the brothers, but if you were interested here we go.

*Spoilers*
I have mixed feelings on this book because I think the author did a good job setting up an "Enemies to Lover" situation, but I do wish more time had been spent on the character development of Wil. When reading a romance you are sometimes more predisposed to liking characters because they are the characters. I felt that way about Wil. He is a dick, but later in the book you see he has a caring heart, at least when it comes to Ellie. I would like to have seen him show that caring heart more toward others.

He has a weird, narcissistic, "god" complex where he looks at the heroine, Ellie, as an object/toy. Someone he gets to mold and turn into whatever he wants, but his thing is, he likes a girl who can stand up for herself. The first part of his desire is a bit of a turn-off, but through his actions, his personality shines through. He says he "wants" a girl who can be put on the shelf and taken out to play at his discretion, but what he really needs is a partner. Now that I think about it, he didn't seem to really have a goal of his own in the story, his goal becomes apparent when it's centered around helping Ellie.

Ellie was an interesting character...you really feel for her throughout the book because of her goal, motivation, and conflict. Her goal is to find her sister and rediscover who she is. One of the Adler brother's finds Ellie in the woods, naked, scared, and alone so he "gifts" her to Wil. She suffers from amnesia, but shortly after realizes that she needs to find her sister. Ellie's story arc is pretty twisted, but I thought it was well done. The only part where it got weird for me is toward the end when Ellie was having an internal monologue with herself, but the persona masked itself as Julie, her sister. It wasn't badly done, just not my preferred style of self discovery.

The book, as usual by this author, is written well. I appreciate her dialogue tags (I know that's so weird and dorky for me to say, but good dialogue tags add to the quality of the read) and her deep POV.

Can't wait to read the next one!

I have read hundreds of mafia romance books and I have to say that this one has managed to surprise me.
The MCs are Wil and Ellie.
Wil is the youngest of the Adlers brothers and on his 30th birthday he receives a very special gift: a woman found naked for one of his brothers, wandering in the woods near the family home. She remembers nothing and Wil find in her the perfect woman.

This was why I wasn’t a man who could have a normal life, a normal love interest; I wanted this. Control. Domination. A toy that I could use however I wanted. A strong woman I could destroy.

“Because you’re mine, Ellie. If you want to live, you’ll obey me. If I want you, then you will offer yourself to me,” I said. She bit her lip. “If I say ‘kneel,’ you kneel. If I say open your mouth, then you open your mouth. And if I say to spread your ass for me, you will pull apart your cheeks. And if I say to eat my come, you better lick every last fucking drop off until my cock, the floor, until everything is clean. And in exchange, I’ll help you find your sister. And you’ll be treated like a queen.” I grinned. “I don’t take any offering lightly, Ellie. Think of me as your god.” I flicked a finger across my chin. “You can choose to disobey me. You can choose to resist me. But I’ll be watching, and punishment will be delivered swiftly.”

Ellie remembers a few things throughout the days, while she gets closer and closer to Wil. But the beep, headaches, and the strange voice she keeps listening will do that things take an unexpected turn.
Ellie is the perfect combination of submissive and feisty, the perfect match for Wil.
I will have to read the other books in the series to se how the war between the Adlers and Muro, another gangster, will end.

Ellie was found in the woods on the 'Adlers' land, with no clothes and no memory of who she is or where she came from, so is captured and given to Wil (Short for Wilhelm) as a birthday present.
His desire to become her god and mould her into being an obedient toy he can use and discard when he was done was however cut short very quickly when it was discovered that the reasoning for Ellie's memory loss was far more sinister than they had originally thought.
Wil's desire to be a god had most likely come from him being the youngest of three brothers in line to take over their family's mafia, always at the bottom of their decisions, so to have a woman be completely reliant on him and listen to his every word will give him what he lacks in other aspects of his life.
The godlike desire however is pushed aside for Ellie, a woman he never intended to fall for, however in her strong willed sense of mind, pushing herself through her past, fighting against her internal demons, she gave Wil what he never realised he needed, an equal.
I really enjoyed this book, read it rather quickly and fully ate up the whole thing.
It was a fast paced book like other reviews, but not unrealistically so and I loved that. I hate when a book has the main characters falling in love with each other instantly, this did not happen in this book.
I loved the unexpected aspects of this book, how certain scenes unfolded that I wasn't expecting. You definitely felt Ellie's pain and confusion throughout, her struggle to find herself in amongst the mess that was her existence after going through a torturous situation.
I felt as if maybe the ending was a little rushed, it could have been drawn out a little longer, going into more detail about what happened after the pinnacle scene.

When Ellie Jordan is found naked, injured and suffering from complete amnesia in the woods on the border of the Adler family home, brothers Derek and Axe decide that she would be the perfect birthday present for their younger brother Wil. Unfortunately for them, Ellie turns out to be their worst nightmare and their potential ruin. Through trumps and triumphs, Ellie must uncover her memories and work to save herself and avenge the death of her sister. Wil is the youngest brother of the Adler family Syndicate. The charming “networker” if you will, who owns a gambling hall in addition to the other work his family takes on. Wil has a self proclaimed God complex, so when his brothers give him a woman with no memories, he sees this as the perfect opportunity to mold his own perfect toy for worship.
Ellie and Wil may be the dark romance definition of star crossed lovers. Every sign points to their relationship ending in tragedy. It is refreshing to have the tables turned and have the focus on a murderous heroine instead of the serial killing male main character in a dark romance. Not to say that Wil doesn’t have his fair share of red flags though, the man is morally wrong in almost every way.
I really enjoyed the plot in this novel. It wasn’t smut based, it had background to other books written by Audrey Rush, which connected everything, and it felt more like a psychological thriller then an erotica in some parts. I actually liked that the mafia aspect almost took a back seat and we were able to focus on cult vibes, again it was a refreshing read for dark romance. I can’t wait to see how Axe and Derek’s story’s play out in the following books in the series.

If you’re read the excellent Dahlia District series, you’ll remember that the Adler brothers provided protection to the club. This new series stars the Adler brothers themselves, and while we meet Derek (next in line to take over from their mob boss father Gerard) and Axe (the enforcer), this dark romance focuses on Wil. Wil runs Jimmy's, a gambling establishment. The family is quite tight-their motto is Conquer. Annihilate. Rule. They’re ruthless, and they’re killers. But even killers have birthdays, and Axe brings his brother a gift-a young, naked woman found in the forest whose memory is suppressed. The mystery, as it unfolds, is horrifying. Ellie is a warrior, keeping focused on her sole mission, even if her memory is not intact. There are enemies everywhere, the threat of death is always just a whisper away, and the tension in this story kept me turning the pages far too late! I mean, the knife scene! This author has become a favourite, both for her stories, and her dominant, possessive antiheroes with their odd moral compasses. It's the female characters that I generally like least but Ellie’s is in a league of her own. She shows that you can be strong, focused, compassionate, forgiving, and vengeful. She is *everything*. And if Wil is the “nicest” of the trio, I can hardly wait for Axe's story.

I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.

🌀🌀ONE DECADENT ROLLERCOASTER🌀🌀
Blazing bloomers boo! Audrey just dialed my number and rang my bell, blowing me clear out of the water with turbulent tilt-her-world, busting through on the winds of a raging vortex full of cruel facts, tormenting lessons and relentless drive, launching this bad boy to staggering heights. Captive in vicious nightmare chocked full of heart pounding deeds, pulse racing tales, callous deals, vicious animosity and brutal tactics merge as riveting drama, gripping intrigue, underlying currents, electrifying suspense and intense situations converge, busted barriers and sketchy lines solidify while limitations are amplified and tested, observing the arduous struggles and formidable triumphs, attentive to the deadly twists and dramatic turns unfolding, batting this gem into a frenzy with mind-blowing results, wrapping this jewel up sleek, shiny and tight. The characters, banter, dialogue, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow adding depth and diversity, transforming into outstanding personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and graphic descriptions creating an elaborate backdrop that feels as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Audrey, thanks for sharing this amazing thrill with us.

From the moment I picked this book up to the moment I finished it I was amazed, it is such a crazy story that will have you feeling all the emotions! I read it all in one sitting because I NEEDED to know what was happening and it was worth staying up all night for.

Everything that Ellie had to go through broke my heart and to say I was a blubbering mess when her past was uncovered would be an understatement, throughout the book you see more and more of how strong she is and that even after everything that happened to her she still came out the other end fighting, I’m so glad she managed to get the justice she deserved. Wil, now he was something else, arrogant and bossy with a god complex that’s my sort of man, he had such a fierce protection for Ellie and it melted my heart, no matter how impure his intentions were at the start he soon realised his true feelings and tried to do right by her by letting her go to make her own decisions.

This is a very dark story with a quite a few triggers but honestly it was amazing and I’m so glad I found it. I cannot wait for the rest of the books to see what happens next, I’ll be counting down the days for Axes story. If I could give more than 5 stars for this book I would.

Audrey you are an amazing writer and I am looking forward to reading everything else of yours.

A Mafia romance full of danger and suspense!
by sewsummore

Will and his brothers were the sons of a ruling mafia family that went back to his grandfather. He managed the family casino and on the night of his birthday, his brothers gave him a gift that was both unexpected and surprising. They gave him a woman, she had been discovered on their family estate, naked, with no memory of who she was or where she had come from. Will had little time for the woman who threw themselves at him, all of them wanting something from him. Here was a woman he could control and mold, change and shape her life, to make her fit to serve him. Ellie had no memory of her past life, but she was a fighter with a voice inside her that told her what to do. Over time bits of her past surfaced and Will be believed that she had undergone savage programming, one that turned her into a killing machine. It was like there were two women in the one body, the one that had begun to trust him and the one that wanted to kill him. This book captured my attention from the beginning. The storyline was dramatic with danger and suspense, when the truth came out it was explosive and violent. I found this book addictive romance full of danger and suspense!

3.4 stars. Not bad, but needed consistency.....

Dangerous Deviance is my first read from Audrey Rush and I have conflicted feelings regarding this story: there were parts that I really enjoyed, but other where I didn't feel a thing. The plot had its originality, but the excution failled a bit and what could have been an amazing book, for me, it wasn't. IMO, it was needed more deepth and consistency: the plot felt dislodged at times, the MCs's feelings and behaviors all over the place, one minute thinking one thing and in the next a totally different idea. I was not able to feel the connection between Wil and Ellie either and my mind was on his brothers reactions more than in their relationship. Don't get me wrong, it is a very well written book, but the way the storyline was presented didn't work for me. At the middle, the mystery was pretty much solved and I struggled to finish the book,
This is MY VERY PERSONAL opinion and I'm sure lots of people will love this tale, I wanted to love it too, but unfortunately I didn't. On one last note, I'm really curious about Derek and Axe and what is coming in their way.

Well Audrey, it had to finally come didn’t it? The Adler’s story and boy what a start and what a birthday present! Having thoroughly enjoyed the Dahlia District books The Adlers were there but seemingly in the background. Their stories had to come. What a character Wil is, definitely dominant and totally ruthless. Killing someone doesn’t seem to register with him. A total family man but only his family. Along comes a woman found in the woods with no memory, found by his brother on their property and gifted to Wil for his birthday. Ellie who was looking for her sister had no memory but had a sinister voice in her head. As the story unfolds, and what a very clever story it is, we realise just what horrors this beautiful woman had to endure and what her mission is! A captivating and brutal coming together of these two is heart wrenching and heart stopping at times. I could go on and on about this story but suffice to say that it is a must must (2 musts) read. Cannot wait for the brother’s stories and is there a book for Gerard as there is a past there with Muro?

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "DANGEROUS DEVIANCE". Audrey Rush did a great job with new series you met the Alder Brother's in the "Dahlia District Series" they offered them protection for the club this is full of mystery, intrigue, suspense, Rival Mafia Gang, abuse, danger, intense dark twisted drama.
Derek Alder is next to take over being Mob Boss for his father Gerald, Axe is their enforcer, Wil the youngest runs Jimmy's gambling establishment their ruthless killers tight knit family its Wils birthday his gift from Axe is a baked woman he found on their property confused didn't know who she was.
Ellie even though her memory is suppressed she has a goal to find her sister she's a strong woman knows there's enemies everywhere always feeling threatened by death the things she's been through you feel for her throughout the story & what Wil does to her the knife scene blew me away.
I definitely recommend to get this well written first story in this new series the characters pull you right in I so can't wait for the next book "AXE'S STORY" AWESOME READ!!!!!!!

Good concept, albeit a little strange that you find a naked woman with amnesia in the woods and your first thought isn't does she need help or a doctor? Heck no, its she'll make a great gift to my little brother?!?
The writing style was quality, haven't read this author before, but the story pace was painfully slow and repetitive. The amount of times it was drilled into us that Ellie thought Wil or his family had something to do with the disappearance of her sister or that she was brainwashed, became annoying for me. I skimmed read most of the book and still got the gist of it and could ultimately tell you what happened which means a good third of book could go.

Learn to be ruthless with your storytelling and cut out the buffer.

I had to mark it down to 2 stars on reflection... 3 stars usually means it was a good read and this wasn't quite. Whilst the concept and penmanship were good, the storytelling was like trawling through mud. Sorry. But I would definitely give this author another go.

This is the first book in the Adler series, if you’ve read The Dahlia District you would have heard of the Adler brothers.

This is Wilhelm Adler, Wil for short and Ellie’s story.

Wils brothers find Ellie trespassing in the woods near their home and decide to take her home to Wil as a birthday present, Ellie has no memories of what had happened to her or how she came to be on their property, all she can focus on is the need to find her sister who went missing, the voices in her head are telling her the Adlers are the enemy and the reason for her sisters disappearance.
I really enjoyed this story, I was hooked from page one and couldn’t put it down as I was eager to see what was going to happen next, this isn’t your normal love story, it has some parts that readers might find disturbing but if you’ve read other books by this author you’ll know they are relevant to the story and tastefully done.

Meet the Adler. First book in a new series. This book is about Wilhem "Wil" Adler, the youngest brother. He runs the family gambling hall Jimmy's. Family is everything to the Adlers and they will do anything to protect it. He refers to himself as a god so on this birthday he's gifted Elli, by his brother Axe.

Ellie woke up in the woods confused and doesn't remember much except the need to find her baby sister Julie. What follows is a series of events towards her breaking free of the mental chains towards love. After everything she's been through, which you'll read, she serves all the love that's coming her way.

This story has it all, you'll roll your eyes, be near tears, laugh, be pissed but fall in love with the characters. This is my second book by Audrey and it is well written. I can't wait to Axe's story!! He's stone cold so I can't wait to see who will melt all that ice

Ellie and Wil grabbed my attention and never let go!

I have read quite a few of Audreys books now and they never fail to surprise me! I definitely went into this book and even through the first few chapters thinking the plot was going to end up one way, and was more and more surprised when the details began to unfold. Things definitely took directions I never saw coming, and the back story for Ellie was more tragic than I could have ever imagined. Audrey truly nails the dark aspect every single time. Just when you thought you've read it all, I pick up an Audrey Rush book and I am enlightened all over again!

The smut in this is chefs kiss, definitely DARK, definitely HOT. Make sure you read the TW! Ellie and Will definitely have the chemistry thing going for them from the very beginning and partake in activities that will have you second guessing things about yourself (in all the best ways).

Cant wait to see what's to come next from the Adler Brothers!

It started out good then got... weird. Like syfy weird but it’s not a syfy book, if that makes sense. I’d give it a 3.5 star. I’ve never read anything like this before, that I can remember.
My review contains spoilers so stop reading now if you don’t want to know specific details. You’ve been warned...

~SPOILER~
The h was found naked in the woods, abused, with amnesia. The H & a doc work with her on getting the secrets out of her and bringing her memory back. Then there’s more women who pop up! Same thing as well. Come to find out it’s a camp - more like a cult- where this crazy dude (along with his employees) kidnaps, rapes, tortures, and brainwashes these women and trains them to become killers.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I hated this book. I found it to be predictable and slow as f....u.....c......k. I’m really sorry....I tried really hard (68% of the book hard) to find something appealing about it, but alas I started skimming through pages—I just thought I can’t anymore. I was actually trying to force myself to finish, then I thought why am I doing this to myself....seriously?!? This is me time that I am supposed to enjoy. Why I continued so far do you ask—well book 2 seemed very interesting and appealing to me, however I thought it would be best to read the first before any others. Bad decision on my part because now I don’t even think I’ll read that. I’m praying if I do that the experience is a better one. The best thing I can say about this book is that I don’t remember seeing a bunch of grammatical errors😬🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

DNF.

THERE'S COCKY, AND ATTRACTIVE...AND THEN THERE'S JUST TOO GODDAMNED COCKY. THE HERO REMINDED ME OF A SELF-INDULGENT SPOILT BRAT, AND THAT ITSELF WAS UNATTRACTIVE. I'd choose a deranged, mysterious, stockholm-syndrome type of story any day than this. And I wasn't too into the way the MCs meeting was executed.

"Happy Birthday, brother. I found this woman lost in our woods, oh and by the way, she lost her memory, so here keep her as your pet or submissive."

The fact that they treated her like a non-human being really got to me, when I'm usually fine with the dark romance troupe. Idk...it's just so...childish. Oh, and not to mention...perhaps this was a slow burn but I wasn't feeling any chemistry between the two. Even with slow burn, you're still supposed to feel some sort of connection but not here.
