This highly-focused, case-based text offers a comprehensive treatment of the basic issues of contract law and emphasizes development of analogical reasoning skills. Each section is limited to three types of materials (brief narrative, judicial opinions, and discussion problems) and is designed to teach students how to read opinions, analyze issues, distinguish material from immaterial facts, and apply holdings to similar problems. Okay giving this a sincere rating in impossible cause I had to read it BUT I will say out of all the casebooks j had this semester this book had the best balance of notes/intro to cases without a bunch of fluff 🏅
3 or 4 helpful cases as examples of contract law per subtopic, which I liked. Mostly well edited to highlight the core issues for first year law students. Removing a star because I only read portions assigned by my professor, and the cases I glimpsed that we didn't read were not as well edited.
I want credit for reading this tbh, love a short textbook with concise, manageable preambles. By far the best written one of the semester, fantastic class too
Not a fan of the format. Was essentially only super dense cases with little explanation in the notes. Definitely my least favorite case book of the semester.
Probably my favorite of the casebooks I've had this semester because of how concise the editing was. With each case it was clear what lesson it was trying to illustrate. Plus, it doesn't hurt that one of the authors teaches at my school and is quite a valuable resource.
