But, can I be a Venator?? Once I picked up this book, I could NOT put it down. Caligo is filled with action, lust and suspense. It'llI keep you hooked from the first page. Caligo is the sequel to Nyctophilia. If you started Nyctophilia, make sure you have Caligo in hand ready to go! You won’t want to miss what happens to Jasper and Ava in this one.
In Caligo we follow Ava as she’s training to be a Venator. Who is her personal trainer? None other than Jasper himself. I’m pretty jealous about that. Ava is slowly coming to terms that werewolves actually do exist, and that her mate is one as well. The overall pace of the plot is perfect, it keeps you glued to the pages. There are just enough twists and turns that it leaves you wanting more. Heat created a world that makes you want to dive into and be a part of.
The relationship between Ava and Jasper begins to blossom even further but will her parents stand in the way of their destiny? I'm excited we got to see Ava grow as both a person and a Venator. She becomes even more badass as the book goes on. We also get to meet some of Jasper’s pack and closest friends. They definitely add to the atmosphere of the book.
I can not wait to see what happens next with Jasper and Ava. I’ll be counting down the days to the next release!

Torri is a master storyteller. She has managed to weave Ava's family drama into the mix with Jasper's pack ensuring that the third book has another development to come that will no doubt see Ava grow even more as a character.
I love Jasper. I love how sure of himself and his bond he is, and I can't wait to see how Ava changes and grows throughout this series.

Ah! It started off exactly where I NEEDED it too. If you read Darkling #1 you will understand why!
I needed more Jasper from the very beginning and wow did we get more Jasper in this book. Phew....hot!!
It kept me hooked from the very first chapter diving more into the depths of Ava’s new role.

I'm Claiming Jasper!!!!!!
Eeeeekkkk!!! I need more Jasper NOW!!! I loved everything about this novella. It had the right balance of steam and brilliant plot which made this impossible to put down.
Not only has Torri created a mouthwatering male lead in Jasper, she has also created a kick-ass female lead in Ava. She is so relatable to with the right amount of sass to not be annoying😂
If you like a great storyline and sexy werewolves then this is the book for you 😉 you can thank me later 😘

Get your Venator on, because Torri Heat is back with another astounding novel 😍
(Me wondering if 'Get your Venator on' is actually cool, or just plain... weird, but 😶)
When I started Caligo I already knew stuff was going to go down y'all...
And did it go down...
Torri Heat went straight into the action, I could barely get my seat belt on in time. There wasn't a moment where I was bored or uninterested. The story was intense and it left me on the edge of my seat. 👀
I loved all the drama that went down in Caligo, but what really had me filled with anticipation and fear was that ending 👀😶 I wasn't expecting it, to say the least. How everything went down pushed my rating for Caligo right up to a 4/5. It was a brilliant way to end off a story!
Then there's Jasper...
Whooo weeee, dayum y'all 👀😁 In Caligo Jasper's character was explored a bit more, and throughout the novel there were moments where I learnt a few things about him. Including how attractive he was... 😶
Anyway, there were a few things that withheld me from giving Caligo a 5 star rating.
When Caligo started off right where Nyctophilia ended, I immediately thought that it started off a bit too fast. I also felt like some things, (I won't mention them due to spoilers) could've maybe been revealed a bit later in the book. Proceeding through the book, there were moments where things, for me, were going a bit too fast and this made the plot feel a bit empty.

The series includes: Book 1 - Nyctophilia, and Book 2 - Caligo
This series is a great example of this genre as both books are packed with sexy characters, intense action and steamy sex. Once you start this series you won’t be able to put the books down!
In Nyctophilia, we are introduced to Ava Green, who is a social media consultant. Ava works out of her small town coffee shop where she keeps running into Jasper, a new hot PI who’s in town investigating violent assaults in the nearby woods. They eventually go out on a date which leads to some jaw dropping sex scenes. After a few dates Ava realizes that Jasper might be more linked to the case then he originally led on ...
In the second book, Caligo, Ava joins Jasper in his investigation, and discovers more about his background and how her family plays a role in the supernatural occurrences that are taking place in this small town. The book builds to a dramatic climatic ending, pun intended.
My only critique is that I would have liked more complexity to the villain’s motivation. It’s a pretty standard bad guy response.

I find myself to be a lot like Ava in this second book. She comes into her own in this one. And I LOVED the character growth! She trains like hell to be a bad ass warrior, ready to kick ass. *and like her I've already claimed Jasper, so getting to train and then * not train🥵 with him* would so be up my alley!
The Venator part aside. We were introduced to new characters, good and bad, and it was awesome to see the 2 of them interact with them and each other. A good test of a relationship is when others are introduced. I love the side characters and how much thought was put into each one.
The relationship between Ava and Jasper really grew in such a great way. This felt like a real world relationship with boundaries and respect.

I read the ARC for this book and it was a fantastic firestorm of dirty talk & sensual action between Ava and Jasper. I loved them both in book one (Nyctophilia) but in Caligo they are ten times as hot and I could not stop reading! They have wicked chemistry and mesh so well together as Ava begins her training. The flow of the story kept me completely engaged and I loved meeting Jasper's family (pack). They are the kind of book boyfriend material that qualifies for their own spin-offs in my opinion! The ending left me with an understanding that Ava is every bit the badass she exemplified while taking down her man in his wolf form (so hot), and I can't wait to read whatever is next in this series because, wow, it was freaking awesome!

Caligo picks up where Nyctophilia left off, with Ava coming to terms with her Venator heritage—and the fact that Jasper is her mate. I devoured this novella in one day! It has all the steamy romance and intrigue of the first book, but here the plot really ramps up, taking readers on an exciting, suspenseful journey as Ava undergoes warrior training and works with Jasper to find out who—or what—is harming werewolves. Ms. Heat has created strong, feisty characters to root for (including an interesting supporting cast) and a mystery that keeps you guessing. With strong writing and world building, not to mention a clever twist at the end, I highly recommend this book! I can’t wait for the next one in the series!

Ava is having a hard time wrapping her head around the fact that Jasper is her mate for life. He is hot and amazing, but that doesn't mean she is ready to accept that he's her one and only. But she has other things to occupy her mind, like training to be a Ventnor in order to defend herself against the danger that is still out there. Ava thinks she can handle her parents' disapproval that she is dating a werewolf, but everyone has a breaking point, and this could be hers, especially considering...well...that you're just going to have to read for yourself to find out!

I liked how the author built on Book 1’s story of Jasper and Ava. The best part of this book is the palpability of their relationship. For me, it leapt off the page. Jasper is a dream man.
Don’t really have anything negative to say. It’s a consistent read. I am not someone who reads erotica/romance often, but I admit enjoying the hot and spicy scenes in this one.
This author is worth adding to your follow-list. I am really enjoying the books TH are putting out and looking forward to the next one.

I felt that Torri demonstrated a great deal of growth as a writer with part two of the Darkling series. The depth of Ava and Jasper was more pronounced and their obvious chemistry will have some readers blushing (in a good way!). There is a family feud to deal with, a rising sense of responsibility for Ava and with all of this comes the realization that people are not always who she thinks they are.
The most satisfying part of this installment was Ava undertaking her Venator training and using it to save both Jasper and her new found friends. Well done Torri!

Y’all my girl Torri has done it again! I am so honored to be able to read ARC’s of her delicious little books! I mean, I don’t read much of the steamy stuff lately but phew! She’s bringing the heat in these cold times and I’m here for it!
I feel like I want to talk purely about the hotties in this book, aka the entire pack... but I will start by saying how impressive Ava Green is. I felt she was totally relatable from book one (Nyctophilia) and now I feel that even more. She totally gets all badass on us in this one and proves she is not only a sucker for love but absolutely made for this new life full of action and adventure! I love a good, strong, authentic female lead and Torri nailed it with Ava.
Okay okay... the men in the book. I mean can we really go wrong with half naked werewolves? Angst? Danger? Drama? YUM. What I really loved was the soft side they all have, the protectiveness they feel over one another and Ava. I’d say Jasper is the perfect mix of bad boy and passionate lover.
Please do yourself a favor and read this series! I am so glad there is going to be one more after this. I am totally third-wheeling Ava and Jasper and I’m not ready to let go!

Another hit!
From the first page to the last, Torri jam packed Caligo with suspense, action and heat! And that ending...did not see that coming!! With so many new characters introduced in this book, I can’t wait to see what happens in the next instalment!!

The perfect sequel! I could not wait for Jasper and Ava to return and once again I was captivated by their story. The passion, the drama and the action take you on an unforgettable journey!

I was looking forward to the sequel to Nyctophilia, and it did not disappoint. Jasper and Ava's steamy love affair picked up right where it left off in the first book. The suspense of the killer in the woods only added to my investment in their growing relationship. I can't wait to find out what happens in the third book!
