Cheating Death is not easy, but I’m damned if I fail!

A few months ago I thwarted Drogo’s sinister plan for world domination. Lucky me! I am finally out of the closet and not afraid of my magic. The Council is about to offer me a high-paying job as a mercenary, and a sexy archangel has the hots for me.

Then two senior shifters disappear. What’s worse, someone is after Leia, my magical skull. I have to protect her at all costs or the supernatural peace we enjoy is at stake. Thank magic, my favorite archangels and gods can help me with that.

But keeping Leia safe is only one of my worries. An old enemy is stalking me from the shadows, planning his next move. Evil knows no boundaries and gets more wicked by the second.

Remind me, how did I end up fighting for my life?

Note: The two archangels and two gods are definitely sexy, but this series isn’t a reverse harem. It’s a fast-paced, fun and sassy urban fantasy adventure.

Fun, entertaining, and imaginative! Enjoyed the read! Nephilim Aiya is back to fix problems for others and herself when some top shifters go missing; plus, past enemy, Drogo, is still someone of concern. Lots of supernatural problems happening! Plus, a dash of romance with an angel of a guy! Liked Aiya and her sass, and that she’s willing to step in and get the job done. She’s a fun character! The flow to the story is a little weird and I wanted a bit more emotional depth, but overall, the story was cool! Excited to read the next crazy adventure!

This is book two of The Nephilim Legacy and the main character is Aiya (Aiyama) Shamsiel Carter, a Nephilim who has spent her whole life having to hide what she is and her magic. Nephilim are fallen angels and have a bad rap, with most being sought out and killed in fear of their powers. A few months ago, someone discovered Aiya’s true identity and had her help the Magic Council to stop another Nephilim and to steal the Scroll of Lies from him, before another plague is unleashed on mankind. After stopping Drogo Rothstein’s plot for world domination and escaping his castle with the scroll, she has an offer of a job with the Council, which will help her out with her funds. She works at a local pub as a bartender and also helps her sister Dara with their online potions and so on. Neither is making great money, so this chance to be a mercenary for the Council, is just what she needs. It doesn’t hurt that she has gained the company and flirtation from Archangel Raphael, in the bargain!
When two of the Magic Council of five shifters, suddenly disappear, Aiya and Raphael are called to the HQ in San Francisco and put on the case, after two top paranormal investigators are unable to find the missing men. The head of the Council wants her magical crystal skull Leia, to track the missing shifters, but that is not something she is willing to part with! He is acting oddly and it is only much later on that a member of the Council of Nine, one of who knows him very well, provides the evidence to show the shifter has been possessed by a being of extremely dark magic. From the dark shadows is a hidden danger that could break the peace between the supernatural light and dark courts. Aiya is given a reading which warns her of some deception and problems to come and she gets a further warning from her interesting and knowledgeable Grandma Onawah. She must keep Leia save from these dark forces, as with her skull and others they already have, these foes could be a danger to all of the supernatural and human realm. Aiya has Archangels, Gods and Goddesses on her side, but their foes are very tricky and ancient, and have powerful weapons and magic of their own!
Aiya herself is being targeted by a previous enemy who has teamed up with an even higher level of evil and dangerous foes, leaving Aiya having to avoid any offers to join them and to fight for her life yet again. Her identity as a Nephilim is seemingly being accepted by the various councils in charge of all supernaturals, but dangers are coming from a number of places and from one type of foe, that many have never seen before never mind heard of before. Grandma Onawah will be of huge assistance in identifying a method of defeating this new foe, but most of the fight will be on Aiya’s shoulders as one of the enemy insists on dealing with her alone! Lots of flirting and sassy moments, but with a serious supernatural hunt to stop evil foes. A blend of various supernatural beings, as well as angels, gods and more, all in a fight to stop a few who want to rule the world and bring their brand of evil to all! I look forward to what adventure may come to Aiya and Raphael, as well as seeing where his flirting takes them. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Two of their senior members, Landon and Simon, have disappeared. The council's alpha shifter, Neil Murdoch, claims you can see where the missing shifters are. Is it true?” More, is it linked to her nemesis, Drogo? Well, all things seem to lead to Drogo. And he is possibly using new artifacts to achieve world domination: talking skulls (aka. Creepy Crystal Balls), and one is in her possession.

Drogo is portrayed as the evil idiot here, but he is obviously not. Teaming up with a skin walker and Hades to achieve his goals must have required some ingenuity. To be honest, the evil guys are two dimensional, and I found their phrases to be insulting at best. What makes this more interesting is the mix of Native American beliefs with European and Indian religious mythologies.

I think I like most two of the minor characters: Loki and his hellhounds are back (don’t pet them 😜). And her sister Dara is dating Aiya’s ex. I seriously want to see more of Dara. I mean, even with Raphael around, this is awkward.

So far this story is the strongest yet. The plot flows well, and is well balanced between dialogue and description.

Romance: Raphael and Aiyana have a date. Now, in books, regular dates are boring. However, this date rocks. She is taken to a run-down bar with a waiter that just made me laugh. You have to check out this scene! It is the best scene in the book.

Aiya is now working with the Magic Counsel to locate some missing members. Everyone they know who they turn to for information only see black shadows. They are being blinded to where the members are and their health. Who is behind this latest attack? Will they prevail in this fast paced and action packed supernatural adventure? Who is being deceitful and trying to sabotage everything they attempt?

This is the 2nd book in Mann's The Nephilim Legacy series and you definitely need to read book 1, Sins of the Nephilim: Fallen Conspiracy, first to be able to understand this book. The author does an amazing job of creating a world and characters that just suck you in. Be prepared for another great ride with this amazing addition to a great series!

Shadow Walker, Antara Mann's second book in her Nephilim Legacy series, brings us to Drogos causing trouble, and it's up to Ayiana to once again save the day. This time High Council members have disappeared, and no one seems to be able to track them. Not even Hellhounds. Weird sorcery is involved. How will they find them before anyone else goes missing? What is the ultimate evil plan? Can Ayiana and the gang save the day before destruction is cast upon the world?

I loved this book even more than the first! First book gives you the lead in with background and you get to know the characters. This book was very action packed and had a lot of suspense when shifters go missing, and then Michael, Enki, and Loki go missing when they are investigating. Drogo is at it again, with help from Hades and the skin walkers. The heroine saves the day yet again! Also very sweet to see her romance with Archangel Raphael. Can't wait for the next book! ❤

Great addition to tje series!

This series combines various different gods, godesses and creatues from muliple sources and combines to make a wonderful blend of mythology and lore wrapped up in adventure. Great kickass female lead who continues to grow with the series. This has everything from love to love, mystery, mayhem and adventure with a great cast. Can be read as a stand alone but better as part of the series

I had read the first book in this series, so of course, I had to read the next one, which is, duh, this one. LOL! In this, two shifters disappear causing Aiya to be on the hunt especially when she finds out that there are those that are after her crystal skull Leia. I think I’d really like to find out more about Leia, or maybe have her more front and center for a future installment. Anyway, this is a fun and action-filled addition to the series, and since I know there’s another one, I will be diving into that one next. Recommend.

It was ok.

Can please please dispense with the teenage verbiage such as "Bro, Dude, Babe, Sugar, Mate (as not in life partner) , Big boss, holy moly". These people are supposedly millenia years old and I very much doubt that that is extent of their knowlegde of the English vernacular.
