This book was alright, and when I say that I mean this book held my attention but it didn't hit all the right buttons.
Yes, it was funny--I found myself smiling several times. BUT where the author spent time and energy making the heroine snarky with clever internal dialogue she should have spent time creating some depth and chemistry between the H/h. It was so bland and boring, and the heroine was such a mess. Yeah, she was clever, but MY GOD, she was all over the place. Reading her thoughts gave me whiplash.
Also, I didn't like that the hero TELLS us he loves the heroine, but not a single thing he does SHOWS us that. I mean, WHEN did he start falling for her? WHAT was his motivation right at the beginning when he offers her a ride? This whole story is so one sided that I can't--for a second--believe that there was any real connection.
I want to read more Lila Monroe books, but I will turn the first page with the knowledge that I will most likely NOT get that sweet heat I expect when reading contemporary romance.

So turns out I read books/chapter one earlier in the year, and was pissed off at the whole 'serial/chapter book/cliffhanger thing'.
This is the three chapters together (as they should be) and I got it for free (which I'm glad of).
Not terrible, but there were quite a few cringeworthy bits where she was being treated like crap and put up with it, or worse, when he was treating her like crap and she was all 'I'm almost in tears, but I so want to jump him right now... or maybe he could tie me up and jump me while he's being an asshole to me in public!' Those bits were pretty gross.

This was the worst book I read all year. Do not waste your time. This book seriously lacks a good editor who would've fixed numerous typos and a lack of dialogue between characters. The current rating is highly misleading.

Grant is a smirking bad boy who seems to care nothing about his failing company. Lacey is in PR, constantly trying to put out his image fires.
The tone of this book changes a few times, which was a bit distracting. Lacey talks to the reader, with lots of sarcasm. Then it flips to Grant’s responses to her and how their relationship develops.
Later, there are a few chapters all about a business threat that comes out of nowhere, which just adds pages unnecessarily.
I wish Lacey had told Grant she loved him sooner, before he tells her, so they could clear the air. His PR plan muddies their relationship, but neither of them clear it up until later.
Still, I like them both once you get past Grant’s behaviour. Kate is a good friend, but gives Lacey some useless advice late in the book.

So.... I’ll start with the parts I liked about this book - the main character Lacey is funny, intelligent, strong yet filled with a self scrutiny that anyone could relate to. Her feeling of not looking right or not fitting in to the ‘template’ of what society wants/expects is a feeling most women would understand. Her thoughts and mental responses to people are really funny at times and genuinely had me laughing out loud.
However, I was not a huge fan of the oh so beautiful Grant Devlin! I know he’s meant to start off as some self centred rich boy who turns good (with Lacey’s help) but I just couldn’t quite buy in to him or believe in his changing behaviour & feelings.
All in all the book was an easy read to pass time but it wouldn’t be one I would recommend to friends.

This was originally written as three novellas and is currently released in one volume. Grant Devlin is the hot, Australian, playboy head of Devlin Industries. Lacey works at his company in the PR department. Since she is the only employee who doesn’t sugarcoat anything in front of Grant, he decides that their becoming engaged will rehab their image. This is an earlier book of Lila Monroe, and it has her signature zaniness. What didn’t work for me in this book was Grant. He was very two dimensional in parts one and two. You didn’t get a feeling for his personality, and why (other than the stereotypical hotness and wealth), Lacey would be so smitten.

Easy read
Pleasant Beach read split into three parts that I personally find both frustrating and annoying. If I find an author doing this I tend to skip the book as I don’t like being forced to purchase more. Having said this fortunately all three books were purchased in one go and the story of Lacey and Grant was interesting and came with humor, steam and a little corporate espionage. Would have enjoyed it more had the author developed the story instead of taking the time to lead you to the “cliff hanger” Read it for yourself and make up your own mind, mine is 3 Stars worth!

Loved it
Grant's a playboy who gets into all kinds of trouble and makes his stockholders think he's not fit to be the had of a media company. Lacey is the woman who has to revamp his image and does so by pretending to be his fiancee. They embark on a series of adventures that winds up with them falling in love...at least Lacey does. She believes that Grant is just pretending. Unbeknownst to her, Grant has fallen for her hook, line and sinker. Three are the usual ups and downs with a wonderful 'fight for your life' ending. It's a great rom com.

Its one book
The book is nothing special, and it's divided into three for no reason I can see. The pacing is pretty decent, but a good editor could have cut down the action into a manageable book. But instead there are lots of filler scenes that add depth but, don't necessarily add to story or characters. Like if Rom-com movies actually took the time to film the montague scenes and kept them in instead of giving little snippets when character A realizes s/he is in love.

This did not need to be a three part
Not sure how I feel about this book, it was slow and it seemed Lacey couldn’t stand up for herself? When ever her back was pushed against the wall she will crumple. Portia would make comments about her she didn’t want to defend herself because she was Grants godmother. Seriously?!?! I felt the book was written with some childish characteristics and could have been more mature

Almost A Fairytale.

Horrible Language
I give it two stars because the story was good but all the cursing, to me, took away from the book. I tried to enjoy it but I couldn't and then once I saw that gd word, I was was definitely DONE. I don't finish the first book and was not interested in the others. I wouldn't recommend this author not am I interested in reading anything else by her.

Terrific
The was a great story about how someone can find love in the most unexpected ways. She worked hard putting herself through college and getting her dream job, but her immediate boss is a pain. He is always getting into trouble. But can she help him. And then there is the evil godmother.

Ugh
It started off so well and then...I was like "What's going on here?"
Read at your own risk, because I was liking and hating the main characters with their 'I am confident/not confident' spiral. I also had some issues with the plot, some things had me scratching my head.
I gave it 3 stars overall because I was still able to read it through.

INTENSE!
When I say intense, I mean very. Raw. Passionate. Sweet and a whole lot of intensity. I loved it!
I wouldn’t recommended this book with persons shy of human nature but I gave this book a full 5 star because of how it kept me on toes and very interested. I complete it sighing 3 days and let’s be real, I work 9-5 Monday to Thursday, lol.

Great story
This collection contains three books that are actually one extended story for Grant and Lacey. The plot focuses on a whirlwind romance that ignites when Grant's company needs to show stability after some reckless behavior on Grant's part. Grant grows up and becomes a real gem after meeting Lacey. An interesting, well developed read.

I enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to reading the next in the series. The lead female in the book seems like a bit of a wimp, but she comes good and in the end you start to believe in her. Well written but I could have done with less F words included!
Characters were all believable and I feel I have met a couple of them! Good read and would love more.

I'm not going to spoil the story by giving you details like many other reviewers do. I am simply going to tell you that the story was sweet, the characters perfect and varied from good all the way to evil. There were more sex pages than I wanted to be bothered by but I know how to swipe left. 😀

I've got nobody to blame but myself. I know I usually regret reading anything with the word 'billionaire' in the title and yet here I am. It was too silly for me. Every character and scenario was just pushed to the extreme of ridiculousness.

I enjoyed the storyline of boy meets girl, convinces her to go along with his mad plans and then blur the line. They fall in love unable to admit it until too late, only to get back together. Great Story.

Twists and turns
This book is good. You get the subtle and not so subtle parts of life being thrown at you in a curve ball. There are steamy scenes and heartbreak, doubts, and choices made. However, the link between those two are undeniable. Great read!

What a romp
Lila Monroe sure knows how to make a reader laugh. The characters she created are homespun, and the plot well thought out. The expressions were hilarious—I had a blast reading the story.

It was a good book except for all the bad jokes. It reminded me of a sweating comedian onstage trying to get the audience to laugh at the horrible told jokes. Take out most of the bad humor and the story would be much better and not so long.

Funny read right from the start, Grant and Lacey’s story will have you laughing, while you are rooting for them and hoping they can make things workout. This omnibus set has all three hooks in the series and you will fly through them in tour quest to the finish line.
