Cora knew life was hard, it was unpredictable and it certainly wasn't perfect. She knew her place in the world and never expected it to change. She had learnt from a young age that life wasn't easy and to cherish the good things in life. A single mum of two, working in an under-paid job, cleaning in the shadows of the wealthy. They don't notice us, the little people... Well, that is until one of them knocks you off your feet, literally. Roman Nash is a rich pompous arse, that just so happens to be drop-dead gorgeous, but also has an irritating way of getting under Cora's skin. He's the only person she wants to kiss and hit at the same time.
Roman may knock Cora off her feet, but it's her who knocks his entire world off kilter. A woman who has nothing, but one that would still give away her last penny to whomever needed it. A woman who isn't scared to speak her mind, especially to him. A woman who has absolutely no idea just how incredibly beautiful she is, both inside and out.
They say fairytales don't exist, that they are just stories, but for Cora, her life is about to turn into a comical and modern fairytale.
Two people from the same city, but from opposite sides of the tracks. They collide together in a heart warming and humorous way. But unlike normal fairytales, this one isn't all hearts, roses and magical moments. It's curse words, hard times and hilarious moments. A modern day rags to riches fairytale.
I'm a self published author. I fell in love with reading as an adult, when I found the romance genre. I immediately got sucked into the stories and fell in love. The romcom, the dark, the Suspense, all of them!
I struggled a lot with reading and writing when I was younger. Being dyslexic made it extremely hard for me, but I loved writing stories even then.
I wrote Rise Above in secret too scared and embarrassed that it wasn't good enough, that people would laugh at it, at me. My husband pushed me to take the leap. So I did. Not having an editor to start with and a friend making my cover it scary jumping into a world your unsure of what to do. Learning as I go. Its the best decision I ever made. The response was amazing. I am currently working on the rest of the series. And plan on writing until I run out of words. I love it and one thing I've learnt is you only live once and you should to do what you love and what makes you happy. I hope that people enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
Cora grew up poor and with carefree parents who lived in the moment, so when she fell in love with her highschool boyfriend inevitably ending up pregnant she took it as meant to be. She has always loved him but as they grew up he put his needs first and she finally had enough by kicking him out. Cora was never afraid of hard work and she does what she has to do to get by, but fate has a way of changing ones path.
Roman Nash is rich to boot and when he literally runs into Cora. Cora is completely different then any woman he has met and he finds it refreshing. Coming up with a plan to woo her, Roman realizes she is a package deal. He has every intention of winning Cora's heart and her kids. What happens though when her ex comes back into the picture?
Wonderful whimsical story. I thought this was refreshing and a delight to read. I liked Cora, she was completely down to earth and realistically cautious with Roman. Great read.
What can I say? L. G. Campbell has done it again. Had me laughing & crying at the same time with this beautiful story. I loved Roman, but Cora stole the show for me. She was selfless, kind, funny and everything a bad ass heroine should be. I loved every minute of this. A fantastic 5 star read!
THIS BOOK. WOW! I absolutely adored this story from start to finish. The main characters are awesome, they bounce off of one another and totally make you root for them through the whole book! This story made me laugh and made me feel all of the emotion. The depth of this author’s work is nothing short of perfection. I loved it and I look forward to many more L.G. Campbell books in the future. 5 stars!
I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. This book is brilliant! I read it in a day. The story is just so good that I really didn’t want to put it down. Cora and Roman are such great characters with amazing chemistry. In fact, every single character in this book was amazing and all written so perfectly. I’m not usually a lover of single parent books, but Cora was the most amazing woman and mother. I adored Betty, her character was so funny and the language she used was hilarious. I could really understand Theo and his protectiveness towards his Mum. When two people who come from different worlds meet, this book shows you how this really doesn’t matter in the end, just the love and respect you have for each other. The steamy scenes between Roman and Cora were hot! He was certainly an alpha in the bedroom. I loved how the story had such a strong message behind it, that no matter how little in life you have, there are always others who need help too. This really shone through in Cora. She was an inspiration. An excellent book which so deserved its 5 stars, it will have you laughing out loud too. A proper romcom.
I am a huge fan of LG Campbell's writing but this one was lacking for me. It's a classic tale of two people who fall in love from opposite sides of the tracks. In this case, a Billionaire hotelier falls for a housekeeper. Cora is struggling to make ends meet but will do everything she can to provide her children a happy and safe home. Roman is taken back by this woman who is willing to push back. He loves her feisty side and they have immediate sparks.
This book definitely has the steam as Roman is a complete alpha in the bedroom.
The big part that was missing for me was the character development in their relationship. If Cora was having financial issues, Roman fixed it. If Cora was having issues with her ex-husband, Roman fixed it. When the two had moments together (without kids) there were little to no conversations about getting to know the other. I wanted more depth between Roman and Cora.
*I was provided a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Well written, amazing storyline, beautiful characters through and through! I’d say this book is definitely the start of something fresh, different, and new.
Worlds apart has so many different meanings behind. Cora and Roman definitely showed us that there is no such thing when it comes to true love.
Sylvia was a riot! I loved her to pieces! She was funny as heck! Between her and Cora, there were so many OMG and oh 💩 moments! I freaking loved it!
Another amazing thing I love about LG’s writing is the lingo! OMG!!! I can’t get enough of it! There were so many catch phrases and words that I’m stealing and adding to my daily word usage lol!
Oh My Heart & Emotions!!! Worlds Apart is a beautifully written single parent / opposites attract romance story that I absolutely devoured and adored from the first until the very last word. Riddled with banter, humour, heartache, loveable characters, swoon-worthy moments, and a sprinkle of drama, Cora and Roman's story had my heart equally aching and warming, and me laughing, smiling, swooning, instantly rooting for the main characters, and devouring this story as quickly as possible wondering how the story would unfold. A truly beautiful 5 star rom-com read about two people who although come from completely different worlds discover rather than seperate worlds they have their own entwined world filled with everyone and everything they love.
LOVED!!! Can't wait to see what L.G. Campbell comes up with next!!
If you are looking for a fab well written witty read with a good story line then this is the book for you! Fiesty single mum Cira is struggling to get by day to day doing all she can to make sure her kids have all she can give them... at work one day she is literally knocked off her feet by well off Roman. Roman is instantly smitten with straight talking Cora but it will take alot kore than flashing the cash for him to catch her attention. Love all the characters in this book... but I especially have a sift spot for Betty who stole the show with many of her comments! And those parents were off the charts with craziness haha Such an easy read to fall into and keep you flicking those pages!
I don't know where to start. This book was hilarious. L G Campbell has a direct line to my funny bone, she cracks me up with the banter and situations in her books. I loved Cora, she was strong, a fighter. A wonderful mother and honestly an amazing character. She was easy to read and easy to relate to. Roman i loved him too! He wasn't what you would expect of him, he was down to earth but had that air of power to him. He was the perfect mix of any alpha you love. Several moments in this book i was literally laughing out loud so make sure your okay with people seeing you cry with laughter over this book.
I absolutely adored this captivating story and read it all in one sitting. Cora is a mother struggling to care for her children with a heart the size of Texas. She is a beautiful soul that meets her Prince Charming in Roman, the owner of the hotel she works in. Cora is nothing like anyone he has ever known and he is quickly smitten. This heartwarming story will make you laugh and cry. The children are just adorable and all the parents are hilarious. This book is a perfect feel good story and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
I havnt laughed so hard for some time, great funny book from start to finish.
Without giving much away Cora an her family are the most amazing family you will come across big kind hearts an amazing hilarious friends and family who will have you captivated throughout the whole book!
LG Campbell, this story is amazing. I really love the story line. I'm so in love with the characters that I could keep on re-reading this book over and over; it is a great sweet story that captures your heart. I can't wait for my daughter to read this one! She's going to love it too. So if you're looking for a great love story, this is your book!
Lauren.. lauren, lauren. I loved this book. I loved the instant attraction between Roman and Cora. Their love was so pure. Worlds Apart was light and full of love. I could see the story play out in my head like a movie. I need more of Cora and Roman, I just loved them sooooo much.
If this is on your TBR list, bump it to the top now!!
World's Apart is a fast paced, opposite attracts story. But I felt it lacked the build up between characters. Cora's life is in shambles and she's struggling to keep the roof over her kids head. One day at work she bumps into a jackal, or so she thought and the next he offers her a deal of a lifetime. It does have some sweet Cinderella moments. It was an okay read.
This was an amazing story. It was funny and heartwarming with just the right amount of steam. It was a story that proves you can't judge a book by its cover!
I wanted to read this one as it sounded a bit like the movie Maid in Manhattan and was curious. But residing in the UK and well aware about class distinctions I can say this is the most farfetched book I've read in a while. Let's be honest, most of the romance books we read are a total fantasy. But at least some of them do have at least an element of reality. But not this one I'm afraid. From the Oxford graduate working as a driver/PA(?!), to the low class worker with a drug addict husband who manages to land a hot rich guy. Trust me, no matter how stunning you might be or a good person you happen to be, there's no British rich guy belonging to the upper class in this country that will fall in love with you if you come from a council flat. Honest truth.
I don't really like leaving bad reviews, but as someone who goes through them before deciding to read a certain book, I felt I was totally fooled by the many 5* reviews this one had.
This knocked my socks off and my sides hurt from laughing so much. Everyone needs a Roman 🖤 his alpha possessiveness is to die for x He’s strong, thoughtful, and so damn 🔥🔥
Cora is beautiful, strong, talented. I was howling during the spa scene, the shop scene! And Sylvie - omg do you know how to write an amazing funny friend.

Oh my gosh where do I start with this book review. It was a fabulous read from start to finish and I was sucked in. I found myself laughing in different parts of the book and the characters were brilliantly put together and made the book very entertaining through out. L. G Campbell has made another brilliant story and certainly makes this a page turner. I would highly recommend this book to be read.
I liked parts of this book but then didn’t particularly like other parts and the characters never really connected with me like other books. But it wasn’t a bad read and some parts pulled me and kept me reading until the end. I wish we could have found out what happened to Kyle after as even though he has his issues he was the father of her children and the author just kinda brushed that aside. Plus Kyle did get clean so I would have liked for us to see another side to him with them being co-parents but he was just forgotten about after he tried to break up their hero and heroine’s relationships. Kinda pointless to include a husband/eventually ex into the mix but not follow through with it. What can I say I feel for the underrated characters that could overcome difficulties but felt Kyle wasn’t given that chance properly to redeem himself and I felt his issues weren’t dealt with appropriately. People do get clean and sort their life’s out then go on to have relationships with their children 🤷🏻♀️. And yes he was an ass occasionally but that didn’t mean I didn’t feel for the guy.
Anywho I give 3 stars 🌟

Made in Chelsea meets The Only Way is Essex with hints of Hotel Babylon
This was a fun spicy romantasy book set in London where rich self-made-man and hotel owner falls for a poor but proud gal. I loved how Cora is a mum of two and how Roman took her kids under his wing and accepted her previous life. It helped that their parents had similar values and were not posh toffs but self-made as well. The Camila incidents reminded me of gal squabbles from Made in Chelsea tv series while Cora gave as good as she got (reminded me of the Only Way is Essex tv series). Glitzy hotel setting - ofc Hotel Babylon comes to mind, especially live-in guests and things you can hear through walls.
Recommended for lovers of sweet fantasy romance with HEAs but with spice set in London with a hint of underbelly life.
Omg I smiled, laughed and cried my way through this book. Just when I think your books can't possibly get any better Bam they did. Loved every word. Amazing
