I was first introduced to Clifton Mitchell, Ph.D at an all-day, virtual mental health training. I was drawn to him because he reminded me of one of my favorite professors. By the way he spoke and the ideas he offered, I wanted to hear more from him, so I was thrilled to see he had authored some books. “Priming: Programming the Mind for Habit Change & Success” is one of the most unique, profound, and practical books on the subject I’ve ever read. I’ve begun incorporating the main idea (Dominant Thought Theory) in the therapy I provide to clients as well as my own life. If someone is looking to better themselves or overcome a habit, this should be their starting point.
