Volume 2. Uruma proves to be a high-level MC. Character development in this volume was great. Art still beautiful.

I didn't mention this in my review of Volume 1, so I'll say it now: this manga needs every trigger warning under the sun. Every bad thing you can think of, you'll probably find it in this manga. Messed up, but the storyline is good.

Officiellement un truc de détraqué jamais vu autant de violence gratuite.
Le côté vengeance est assez intéressant mais je suis pas sûre qu’il contrebalance la tonne d’horreur qu’on doit voir en contre partie (surtt que j’ai lu d’autres tomes en scans et clairement ça va pas en s’arrangeant)
Bref 800000 triggers warnings passez votre chemin si vous êtes pas sadique ou complètement malade mdr

Shun Uruma is a high school student being targeted by 4 bullies and their psychopathic leader that wants to perform cruel psychological experiments to drive other kids to suicide by finding creative ways of mentally and emotionally torturing them. One day the kids take their nasty games too far and get people close to Shun killed right in front of him. After the law fails to bring these five killers to justice, Shun trains himself under the guidance of his grandfather who served in the military and knows all the techniques of how to murder and dismember without being caught.

Juujika no Rokunin is one of those gory extreme horror manga that are so over-the-top edgy, brutal and sometimes flat out stupid, that it’s actually kind of great in its own right. It’s like Dexter on cocaine with the brutality of Saw and Hostel. It’s full of baffling moments that often throw logic and reason straight out the window, but it does manage to be genuinely thrilling, shocking and entertaining with how extreme and whacky it gets.

Urumua is also a surprisingly compelling protagonist. He does some really horrible things and spirals down an immoral dark path, but he never fully loses his compassion for others, his loyalty to his family, as well as the urge to be kind and protective to innocent people. You can’t help but root for him, even though he’s seriously screwed up in the head beyond redemption. The villains are also such monumental assholes that it can be nice to see them get their just deserts.

My only true complaint about this series is that it relies too heavily on sexual violence towards women as a repetitive means of shallow shock value. I could forgive it if it was only a one time instance, but almost every single female character in this story exists just to be assaulted, kidnapped or held hostage to give the main character motivation to kill evil men. It can get tasteless and detrimental real quick, especially since the author has proven that they’re capable of coming up with significantly more creative scenarios that could be so much better in the grand scheme of things.

In some ways, Juujika no Rokunin falls into the ‘so bad it’s kinda brilliant’ category of horror thrillers. That being said, it has some really solid moments once in a while that had me on the edge of my seat in suspense. I have my criticisms, but I found myself enjoying it more often than I found myself disliking it. The sheer malice between the main protagonist and the main antagonist is ruthless and makes things constantly exciting.

COMMENTO PERSONALE: Il nostro protagonista comincia ad applicare gli insegnamenti del nonno e a mettere in pratica il suo allenamento effettivamente. Riesce a parlare e rimanere freddo nonostante l’atrocità che sta per commettere effettivamente a tutti gli effetti sembrerebbe essere davvero freddo e distaccato, proprio come erano i bulli alle elementari che lo perseguitavano. Uccide il suo primo obiettivo dopo di che parla con il nonno sul fatto che la polizia fosse sulle sue tracce e lui lo avverte di fare la massima attenzione e di stare in allerta quanto più possibile. Vi è la ragazza che ha salvato che sfortunatamente si immette in un giro davvero losco a sua insaputa e fa delle scoperte alquanto inquietanti. Lei non sa proprio come reagire e si augura con tutta se stessa che il suo amato Uruma venga a salvarla. Mentre lo leggevo giuro che ho provato ribrezzo assurdo nel leggere della sua cattura e del fatto che dovesse essere stuprata e che rischiava davvero di vedersela brutta. Ma per fortuna qualcuno è riuscito a salvarla e ora dovrà fare i conti con l’obiettivo seguente. Davvero pazzesco e non vedo l’ora di andare effettivamente avanti anche se devo dire può fare davvero male. Qua si hanno anche dei flashback per comprendere meglio la psicologia di alcuni personaggi e il nostro Uruma credo proprio che non si fermerà davanti a niente pur di portare a termine la sua atroce carneficina e la sua atroce vendetta.

Ed eccoci giunti al termine di un’altra avventura carissimi amici lettori. Prometto che a breve vi parlerò anche di alcuni libri di lettura e collaborazioni. Vi aggiorno prossimamente.

Je ne pensais pas que ça pourrait aller plus loin… et pourtant.

Ce tome 2 est encore plus dur que le premier. Tout ce qui concerne les femmes est d’une violence glaçante, presque insoutenable par moments. On assiste à des situations profondément injustes, cruelles, et ça rend la lecture très lourde émotionnellement.

La mort du premier… horrible. Vraiment horrible. Et en même temps, difficile de ne pas penser que c’était mérité. C’est le genre de scène qui met mal à l’aise parce qu’elle mélange dégoût, colère et une forme de satisfaction sombre.

L’histoire d’amour, elle, continue de se développer. Personnellement, j’ai encore du mal avec cette dynamique dans un contexte aussi glauque. Et l’héroïne… disons qu’elle ne brille pas toujours par ses décisions. Ça m’a parfois frustrée.

Je reste curieuse de voir où l’auteur veut nous emmener, mais c’est une lecture éprouvante, et clairement pas pour tout le monde.

It's a worrying picture of our society. I like some of the photos better than others, especially the ones where the person in them looks taller than they really are. The faces of evil are drawn very well. Chizuru must be very insecure.
