Ralph Macchio is an American comic book editor and writer, who has held many positions at Marvel Comics, including executive editor. Macchio is commonly associated with Daredevil, the Spider-Man line of comics and the popular Ultimate Marvel line. In Macchio's words, he "made probably the longest run on Daredevil of anyone."
Macchio is not related to the actor Ralph Macchio, but is nicknamed "Karate Kid" after that actor's famous role.
An undercover SHIELD agent has gone missing on a recon op at a mafia don’s place. For no reason, it’s taken months for SHIELD to react and now Black Widow’s been sent in to find out what this Silvermane is up to. But will she be doomed to the same fate as her predecessor?
An okay story. My comic shop added it to my weekly pull because I collect the new Black Widow series. To me, this one-shot was okay, but I should have saved my $3.99 for another title next week. Oh well, live and learn;.
Who was this made for? The writing feels like it’s a comic aimed at a younger audience but there’s too many butt shots to be a kids comic. Nonetheless this wasn’t very enjoyable, the widowmakers one shot was much better.
BLACK WIDOW: WIDOW’S STING #1, available this Wednesday from Marvel Comics, with the Black Widow movie looming on the horizon (a distant one, admittedly), it’s time for a reminder of the Black Widow’s past, and just what she’s capable of.
Natasha Romanoff is a long-standing favorite in the world of Marvel, one with a rich and complex past. That much is not, and has never been, a secret. Yet sometimes it’s good to be reminded of what she is capable of. As well as why she is so cherished as a spy.
Black Widow: Widow’s Sting #1 is a blast from the past. As Natasha is off on yet another mission from S.H.I.E.L.D. This time with the intent of taking down an infamous crime boss, Silvermane.
This tale is set back before Black Widow made herself known as an Avenger. Back when she was still heavily involved in deep cover cases for S.H.I.E.L.D. – she was the best of them, even back then.
This is the last time I pick up anything new written by one of the comics old-timers. They're almost always like this: poorly scripted, hokey, and/or thinly-plotted. The art---by Simone Buonfantino, Rachelle Rosenberg and Travis Lanham---saved this book from one star.
singular comic issue while the 2020 run was airing
classic mafia and spy story line loved the art style always a pleasure to have a classic black widow story women's alliance saving the day in the end lolz

i so wanted to love this bc I love nat, but the writing screams “a man wrote this a man wrote this” Nat feels inauthentic, I’m not too familiar with Astra, but having her being primarily worried about her face being “ugly” because of scarring and not like safety?? just felt a bit off... even male characters are written weird like the writing feels very amateur. anyways I can’t wait for black widow 5 to come out

Black widow is my fav character, I love her so much I want to know her more deeply. This book has a beautiful illustrations that make me enjoy the story even more. I want to watch her movie so badly but due to this Coronavirus I had to be more patient. So I had to distract my mind from this long waiting by reading her story, I wish I would love the movie.
Ugh, this is what happens when we let men write Black Widow. We get a Natasha Romanoff who is not clever or seemingly good at her job and who feels the need to state everything that's obvious. I wish I could say there's one good fight scene or clever line, but there isn't. Definitely not recommended!
Aquele one-shot que valoriza bastante os recordatórios e a base de espionagem da Viúva. Com uma história simples, mas bem old school de espionagem em salas perigosas, essa edição é a graça da Viúva Negra como personagem.
